"The greatest place on earth, the Brooklyn" -my husband Beyond delicious food. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My husband and I have eaten there numerous times and we've never been disappointed. We like to try something different each time, (we've had just about everything on the menu) and every time we are more than pleased with our meals. The food is always fresh. Our steaks have never been short of perfect. The fish, lamb, pasta, veggies, everything is cooked to perfection and couldn't taste better. The staff is very polite, professional, friendly and a few of them are quite funny as well. I was also impressed with their knowledge about the food. All the staff can tell you what ingredients are in what foods, different temperatures meats are cooked at, what waters the different fish and oysters come from. They really know it all! If you have any questions about drinks they not only give you suggestions they tell you why. The staff also dresses the part. All the different drinks my friends, family and myself have tried including beer, wine and mixed drinks have always amazed us with the freshness and selection. The restaurant, including the bathrooms have always been kept super clean. The Brooklyn is a little pricy but very worth it! There is also valet parking that is very convenient. I highly suggest the Brooklyn!
A local recommended this place for Oysters while we were visiting. Wow! Are we glad we listened. Delicious food and amazing experience. Sit at the Chef’s Counter and it will feel like you’re getting a private show. Enjoy the smells and sounds from the kitchen while watching the skilled chefs work. We started with a couple of their popular cocktails, and for an appetizer their fresh oyster sampler. We literally could of just eaten their oysters all night. The Northwestern Bouillabaisse is the best I’ve ever had! The crab risotto cake buried under the mound of prawns, mussels, clams and fish was delish. For dessert we had the rye whiskey sampler of which the Rittenhouse was my favorite.
Fantastic service and very, very good food! We had a reservation about 45 minutes before close, but no one rushed us. They were fantastic, the oysters we're great and every sampler came with a guide. We loved the dessert wine sampler, the oyster sampler - and the chowder was phenomenal.
Top notch food and service with excellent portions. Consistently the best place in Seattle for steak and seafood and awesome desserts. The rib eye is huge and cooked perfectly. The wedge salad is my favorite along with their key lime pie and creme brulee! Great place to dine before a show or concert. Sit at the chef's counter to see everything running smoothly.
Wow! Amazing dinner. They made it in front of me. True artists. Taste was exquisite. Even the Ceasar salad was fantastic. A must try. Bucket list restaurant.
Stopped in for a happy hour and was very impressed. The bar has an art deco retro vibe which works for it. They had great seafood appetizers and oysters. $2/oyster is a great price for Seattle. I had some local beers and my wife had Martinis. Both were great. Would definitely go back.
The building caught my eye because I have a 10 year old daughter that shares the name Brooklyn. So I walked across the street to take a picture. Then I thought well I’m already here I might as well have a drink. I walked in and was immediately greeted and she gave me options on where to sit. I picked the bar seating in front of the chef. As she walked me through the restaurant we came up to these very large back leather chairs that were the barstools. Very unique. I ordered a drink and decided to get an oyster sampler as well. The drink “the Brooklyn mule” (I mean I had too) was fantastic and obviously the oysters where fresh and amazing. They had this green apple kinda frozen dish that you were to use to cleanse you pallet between oysters. I really have to find out what that was! Great place! Incredible atmosphere and would love to know more history on the business and building as it looks to have been there a long time. Great find!
Very good oysters fresh and prepared in front of you. Happy hour was great. The bartenders are very attentive and they had every condiment for oysters I asked for (which was basically all of them since I was trying to get a friend to try oysters)
The most amazing oysters I ever had!! Reasonable price in happy hour, worth to visit!!
Went on a Saturday for the Happy hour from 4-6. The oysters were on for $2 a shuck. Beer was reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive. I would definitely go back.
Really nice premium seafood restaurant. It had just what we were looking for in a nice meal not far from our hotel. Beer flight was really great with samples from 7 local micro breweries. Lobster ravioli was nice, my wife had clam chowder - she loved it. Oh and the bread plate - wonderful!
I got the New York strip. It was good--more or less your standard medium high end steakhouse fare. The potato, on the other hand, was magical. I'll dream about it. The servers were also attentive and friendly without being overbearing.
The tomato based sauce on the plate was amazing. Loved the salmon dish. Cocktail was great as well.
Outstanding service, oysters and white wine paring was great and to top off the experience was the Northwest Bouillabaisse which was delicious
Absolutely delicious. Some of the beat seafood I’ve had in Seattle. They make such a statement with their food. The halibut was beyond savory. I took my brother out for his Birthday before a show and it was supreme.
Fancy but delicious. I got the steak sandwich for lunch and it was divine. Also the french onion soup for an appetizer and half of each bite was pure cheese and I approve 100%
The food was fantastic! Cocktails delicious! Service was great!
I sat at the bar and ordered the sampler and had a glass of ardbeg. With the awesome attentiveness and conversation of my oyster shucker/bartender Cake, I will certainly go again.
Very delicious foods and a kind server! Thanks Abdul!
Oysters! Amazing seafood dishes and great wine choices. Big private booths. Perfect for groups
Great place for seafood lovers. Nice variety of oysters. I liked food and atmosphere. But also professionalism of servers. Guys are very helpful and can give great recommendations for food and pairing drinks. My friends and I enjoyed having dinner at Brooklyn a lot
Always our favorite place to go. Great food and a great atmosphere to enjoy your evening with friends and family. The chef's table is our favourite place to sit. The salmon is my favorite and is always cooked to perfection. Good to see the same chef's always working as they do a great job.
Food has never disappointed me. The calamari was actually better than I expected and I already had high hopes for it. The steak sandwich for lunch is delicious and soft. The bread and steak itself both melt in your mouth and their homemade chips put all other potato chips to shame!!! Definitely worth the price!
Came here after searching for a nice restaurant with oysters. Decided to come here since it was walking distance and its rating. Location - In a great location near all the popular things to do. Service - It was a slow night so we had great service. Food - Food was great, good flavor, good drinks, serving was a decent size. They offered a vodka pairing with Oysters, and Caviar that was a first for me that was pretty cool. Prices - For the type of place like this it was well priced. Venue - Nice layout with bar/oyster area in the middle, dark inside for that intimate feel. Overall good place and worth checking out.
An overall lovely experience. We sat in the high back chairs where you can see the cooks prepare the food. As it was a slow night (Good Friday 2015) there was opportunity to talk to persons working as they prepared food. I liked that. My husband likes a certain drink prepared a particular way which they did to perfection. The dozen raw oysters were a treat & we had a few more of the one we liked the best. We could see the plates as they were checked for presentation and they looked great. It was not too noisy and the ambiance lovely. We were here a few years ago and had the same quality experience. I look forward to going back next time in town.
Had a very very nice meal here. The Filet Mignon was beautiful and cooked perfectly. Bouillabaisse was truly spectacular and a large portion. Waiter did a great job with a specific food request I had and the service was excellent. Nice wine list although mostly limited West coast wines, but the Claret was very good. I will be very happy to return.
Every time I come here, I get excellent service, amazing food, and outstanding cocktails. I usually have to sit at the counter because I forget to call in reservations, but it's an entertaining spot to sit, and you get to interact with the staff, who are all witty & seem to really love working there. The portions are on the large size, so I usually end up taking some home. Menu varies based on what local veggies and meats are in season. Really great wild mushrooms & greens foraged by local companies. The hubs says the oysters are top-notch.
Tried the oyster sampler which was good. The scallop appetizer was delicious and shouldn't be shared! Get your own. My cod was perfectly cooked and it was amazing. The bartender made me a proper Tom Collins. If I come back to Seattle, I would try their steaks next time. But their seafood was excellent. I would definitely dine here again given the chance.
Really loved the happy hour. We got there right as they opened on Saturday. Place filled up quickly. Great $2.00 oysters and 1/2 priced apps. Ok wine list but has a full bar. There's a dinner room and would love to return for dinner.
It’s always a treat to come here. It’s our go to for special occasions and to get in our fancy clothes (fancy clothes not required). My favorite dishes include the lamb, clam chowder, calamari and a key lime pie for dessert. I especially loved the old fashioned that I had. Made to perfection. All around a great experience.
This place has a creative and delicious menu! The service is fantastic. I've been continuously let down by some of the other top Steak and Seafood restaurant for what they charge versus the quality of the food. This place is consistently delicious. I didn't even know it existed until my husband proposed here in 2013 so I have extra fond memories here. This past weekend I took my work team to our Christmas dinner here and everyone was blown away by how good it was and I was reminded I need to drive to Seattle from the Eastside more often to go here!
Great prices, great food and great service! I was there on a Friday, recommend you go to the bar before 5 pm on a Friday for the happy hour as you get a discount on oysters and booze and both are outstanding. You then need to follow that up with dinner which again is great! I would go back in a heart beat. Also the Seattle Art Museum is next door so way not do both.
What can I say? Everything we order was perfect. The waiter very professional, service and food knowledge were so good. I will come back definitely.
Tremendously wonderful food... oysters were truly fantastic, as were the scallops. The lamb was perfect ! Management is really stellar... quickly rectified a problem with the dessert when they recognized it. Service and overall experience was recovered and we left thinking dinner was one of the best we've had!
This is a very fancy place to dine. Based on the prices of the food you really are paying for a fancy place to dine out at and this should be considered for that 'special occasion' kind of thing. The atmosphere of this place was rather relaxing. The lighting was not too bright or too dark and made the place quite humbling in a way. The staff are all organized with their appearance and look very clean and well put together. Tables had clean white cloths laid out with proper silverware [5/5]. The quality of the food had its moments. Ordered the appetizer of calamari which was sauteed and cooked all the way through so it was very good. Ceasar salad was well seasoned but the dressing was really rich for some reason. The wild Alaskan salmon was cooked all the way through and served well with the mushrooms and potatoes. However, I personally prefer some crunch and the outside to be golden brown. As for the desserts, lemon keyline pie was rich in flavor but still very good. [4/5] The presentation of the food was above and beyond. The chefs take that extra time to make sure the food is served to perfection [5/5]. Lastly, service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and informative with presenting the menu and answering any questions. She was consistent with refills on beverages and cleaning the table when plates were finished. One thing that really stuck out to me was when the fila mignon was served at the table she asked to cut down the middle to make sure it was cooked correctly (which it was) [5/5]. Overall, very good place to dine and highly recommend it.
Great experience Seafood was fresh and yummy Fresh oysters, crab cakes was really good Don’t skip the bread Clam chowder was good as well Top notch service
Absolutely awesome happy hour, fresh rotating oyster selection. I hit the Brooklyn every time I am in Seattle. They have some great oyster samplers paired with different alcohols.
I love it, nice and cozy ambience. Had my old fashion cocktails here.
The 7 beer sampler was great and the salmon was pretty good too.
What a wonderful experience. Elegant, comfortable and featuring a huge selection of oysters-on-the-half-shell. I typically stick with fish when dining in a fine seafood house, but I have to say I was tempted by the Double R steak. At our table of six new found friends, King Salmon dominated the menu selection and was absolutely wonderful. I grazed, enjoying chowder, Caesar salad and several appetizers. What a treat! Topping it all off: great service, and an impressive wine list.
This was a nice restaurant and very accommodating. Friendly wait staff who were knowledgeable of the dishes, drink samples, and selections. I tried the lamb, which is a total trust issue when ordering, along with the chefs cooking, because lamb is very special cut and process to cook. Well, it turned out to be a great choice. Meat was tender & delicious. No wait time with reservations and upfront drop off access for the guests. Also oyster sampler, starters, & dessert were all delicious.
Food was nicely done. I found the oysters to be out of this world and the vegetables were soft and buttery,, but the beef quality and potatoes were not exceptional. The menu is simple and clearly defined. The wait staff was very helpful and the atmosphere is outstanding. The cocktails here are also top notch.
Really wonderful happy hour every day with great selection and quality! The clam chowder was especially wonderful. The only downside was that they had trouble keeping up with the happy hour bustle, but the bar staff was still courteous and smiling! I'd definitely go back!
Better than expected! My oysters were perfect and my steak was one of the best prepared that I've ever had. It was not only warm throughout (medium prepared) but perfectly pink and (temperature) hot to the taste. The waiter Rob paired my steak with a perfect cab and recommended a fantastic scotch cordial with rocks on the side. For $80, I had a fantastic meal with the experience to go with it. I should add that I'm traveling for business from the bay area California.
A reservation is suggested. This will not be a quick meal. The food is OK. I found it to be your usual steakhouse food with pretentious menu descriptions. I had the chicken which was "chantrell encrusted" in my picture you can see it was basically fried chicken style. It was tasty though. I would suggest happy hour at the bar over a dinner.
Good service (although our specific waiter did not appear to like his job at all). I enjoyed the selection of seafood while my spouse was underwhelmed by the meat selection for lunch. The burger spicing was off-putting and meat so so but the preparation and presentation was good. We will try again for dinner.
We came in August for an evening of elegant fine dining. The waiter was unfamiliar with a cosmo or vodka martini of any kind. Much more surprisingly, ditto for the bar staff. Just awful - hadn't the slightest idea how to make them and apparently no inclination to look up how. Very disappointing. The salmon was fantastic, however, as was the steak. Lovely plate presentation matched an elegant restaurant. Still wouldn't come back as the waiter laughed dismissively at me, as if I, a bartender of thirty years was asking for a highly unusual beverage. He actually tried to tell me that my vodka martini tasted too strong because of the vermouth. To which I replied you don't put vermouth in a vodka martini'. Less than pleasant exchange. Food 5 stars. Service 1.
Right off the bat this was not a good eating experience. The building and restaurant are very nice and comfortable. But the service was not good. We were meeting at the door and that was pleasant. When our server came to great us it was like an effort. We had very little time to look at them menu, not to mention decide on what we wanted to drink, before the server was ready to take our order. I ordered a beer and it took 8-10 minutes before it was brought to the table. When we did order we order the steak sandwich and the steak and fritz. The server did not ask how we wanted our steaks and had to come back to confirm what I ordered. On her way from the table I had to tell her how I wanted my steak. When we got our food we found that one of the steaks was almost rare. So we sent it back to. E cooked more. The dish did not come back to the table for 10 minutes. 2 of us were almost done with our lunch. Over all the service was not pleasant and the staff did not smile. It seemed that when someone had to come to our table it was an effort and inconvenience. And the food was just OK. My steak sandwich did not have a lot of flavor and was a little mushy. I felt the food was like an old dinner and not very exciting. I hope this is just an isolated incident and the restaurant is better than what they showed me today
I tried the salmon. It was pan seared however not seared enough. It was chewy and slightly cold. The spinach was too salty for my taste and the potatoes had no favor. The restaurant did not meet my expectations.
Somewhat disappointed. Went there with my wife and daughter. Ordered cocktails. My Manhattan was a bit watered down. Appetizers and oysters were great, but waited about 20-30 min for entrees to show up. 3 steaks all supposed to be medium. 1 was right, the other 2 were well done- no pink. Server didn’t come back for a bit, so we just ate them. I don’t think I’ve ever sent anything back before anyway. I wouldn’t be critical for a $150-200 bill, but for $320 for dinner and 1 drink, I will probably consider other options in the future
