I had a memorable dinner at René. The highlight of the meal was definitely the fish, which was cooked to perfection and paired with sensational sauces. We started with the bread service, which was quite good and a nice way to begin the evening. Our wine recommendation was spot on the staff clearly knows their cellar well and helped us choose the perfect pairing for our main courses. For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse; it was good and well-executed, though not particularly spectacular compared to the rest of the meal. The only downside was the service logistics regarding the weather. It was a rainy day, and we were initially seated in an uncovered outdoor area. Luckily, the rain held off during our meal, and given how delicious the food was, it ended up being worth the risk! Overall, a fantastic spot for fine dining in Sedona. I would definitely return for the flavors and the wine!

Excellent, across the board! Service, quality and freshness of each of our dishes and the restaurant is quiet! You can hear your date or friends, with our raising your voice! They had this out of this world lamb, delightful sea bass, oh and don’t miss the dessert. I hear fine dining in Sedona is rare. Well, you won’t be disappointed with this spot! Great wine list too.

We are hard to please when it comes to a good filet as we make ours at home to perfection. This place didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend for the petit filet, the au gratin potatoes and haricots verts (tiny green beans). Love this place. Super amazing romantic old world feel atmosphere. (The brews start was amazing as well and forgot to take a pic after we got it but we included a pic after we had 3 slices :)

Rene at Tlaquepaque in Sedona was an absolutely incredible dining experience from start to finish. The food was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and felt both elevated and authentic. We ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, which was perfectly cooked and honestly one of the best fish dishes we’ve had anywhere. The soufflé was incredible — light, rich, and absolutely worth it, so make sure to order it ahead of time because it takes a while to prepare. What truly made the night special, though, was our server Francisco. Francisco was attentive without being overbearing, warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. He gave thoughtful recommendations, made sure everything came out perfectly, and created such a welcoming, relaxed vibe at the table. You can tell he takes pride in his work and in the restaurant. If you’re lucky enough to have Francisco as your server, you’re in for a great night. We will absolutely be back.

One of the BEST dinners of my life. Our server Keenan and the busser were so on it! Truly exceptional service!!! The food were consistently beautifully presented and delicious! I would go here again and again.

My wife and I made reservations for our 30th anniversary. We were greeted by the host and seated at a lovely, quiet table. For our anniversary they had rose petals on the table and a card for us. Our waitress, Jessica, was wonderful. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine selections. Our food was fantastic, but I must say the service was incredible. This was a great choice for a special celebration. Thank you for a great experience.

Wow... I am french, i am a foodie, i walk into Rene, and I get this unreal fench cuisine twist... the escargots, the tartar, the break, the lamb, the salad... and the best for the end, the flambees bananas... the chef is Mexican but the owner is American, no French staff and one of the best French cuisine I have had in such a long time. Felicitations for this marvelous restaurant

We were glad we made a reservation during our stay in Sedona and truly enjoyed our romantic, relaxing dinner at this charming restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and inviting. We shared a few authentic dishes, savoring each bite, and although we didn’t order dessert, we hope the server and manager weren’t disappointed.

First time in the area , visiting AZ. Found Rene and could not have enjoyed it more. Waiter was pleasant and attentive. Good great. Ate outside on patio. It’s a bit pricey so be prepared. Musis was a lovely Spotify playlist.

It was a belated Mother's Day dinner for my mama. My crazy busy schedule had to postpone her special day. She wanted The Hudson in Sedona but no reservations were available. My quick thinking along with my list of restaurants I want to try help make the decision easier. I always wanted to try Renee's in Sedona. Such a beautiful restaurant with French Mediterranean cuisine. I always say you can't go wrong with a French bistro or restaurant. We started of with two wine tastings. We settled on the En Route "Les Pommiers" by Far Niente, Russian River Valley 2022. You can never go wrong with Russian River Valley - one of my favorites I added to my collection at home. My mom must have been hungry. I told her to order whatever she wanted and don't look at the prices. Money was no object. She ordered the Chilean Sea Bass plate AND the Petite Filet plate. She almost finished both of them! Then she finished off with the flourless chocolate tart and vanilla ice cream. If you've ever seen how tiny she is you would wonder where did she put all that food. 😄 I ordered the Dover Sole a la Meunière. Very tasty. But, she was extremely happy The Hudson was not available because she really enjoyed her Mother's Day dinner at Rene. She said "You're spoiling me." She deserves it. She loves her red wine.

Truly, a pleasant dining experience all the way around. Sat outside on the patio and could hear live music elsewhere in the shops, the birds, and the bird bath fountain. Hostess, server, and service staff were friendly and attentive. Food was really good; flavorful and colorful. The bread (not pictured) was excellent.

We dined in here during our recent visit to Sedona. The restaurant is located in a historical site. It is in one part of the courtyard of a beautiful building. The architecture and vibe takes you to Spain. The table was set with rose petals and a handwritten card. It was such a nice touch to our special evening. The service was amazing, the food was tasty. Our server helped us with our dietary needs and pointed to us to items we could have.

Located in the charming Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, Rene offers an elevated dining experience with French and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic, with courtyard seating, dim lighting, and soft jazz enhancing the experience. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted with high-quality ingredients. We started with the lobster bisque, rich and velvety with generous chunks of lobster, and the golden beet salad, bursting with fresh berries, toasted pecans, and creamy goat cheese was absolutely outstanding! The mushroom strudel was a perfect balance of crisp pastry and savory, umami-packed filling. For the main course, the 6oz prime beef tenderloin, wrapped in bacon and topped with white truffle butter, was cooked to perfection. It paired beautifully with roasted sweet potatoes and grilled pineapple. Dessert was a banana tart brûlée, a delicate balance of caramelized bananas, vanilla pastry cream, and salted caramel. Service was exceptional—attentive yet unobtrusive, with expert wine pairings and meticulous attention to detail. With an extensive wine list and craft cocktails like the Prickly Pear Margarita and Manhattan, René is perfect for a special occasion or an elegant night out. Highly recommended! Very special evening with J.S. 😘

Had dinner here for our last night in Sedona on our honeymoon. The service was great. It's a dinner we will remember. Everything was great from the cocktails, rack of lamb, and dessert. The lamb was the best we ever had. It came with a sauce on the side and it didn't even need that because it was so flavourful.

When we arrived at Rene at Tlaquepaque, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The atmosphere had a wonderfully friendly vibe. Originally, we had planned to dine on the patio, but due to the temperature, we requested to be moved inside. Without any hesitation, our reservation was promptly moved indoors. We were seated towards the back, near a mirror in the main dining room. The view of the courtyard fountain and the visitors passing by added to the special moment. To celebrate our anniversary, our table was beautifully decorated with a rose petal arrangement. Our waiter, Allan V, was absolutely outstanding! We started with two delicious appetizers: Spanish Garlic Shrimp (Gambas Al Ajillo) and Escargot. The shrimp was cooked to perfection with shaved garlic, dried Arbol chili, bay leaf, sherry, butter, parsley, and roasted red bell pepper. The escargot, baked in flaky pastry with roasted garlic, sherry mushrooms, was equally delightful. For the next course, we enjoyed two incredibly tasty soups: Normandy Brie with Black Truffles and French Onion. The Normandy Brie soup had a rich flavor enhanced by black truffles, while the French Onion soup had caramelized onions, garlic croutons, and a three-cheese blend. As for our main courses, we savored the Roast Rack of Lamb with a mustard crust, served with Shallot green beans and creamy whipped potatoes. We also had the Chef's choice of Chilean Sea Bass. Both dishes were exquisite. Throughout the evening, Allan checked on us multiple times to ensure everything was perfect. We had initially planned on having dessert, but we were too full. However, Allan insisted that we couldn't leave without dessert. Within minutes, he returned with a beautifully presented dessert, complete with a candle. We were truly touched by this thoughtful gesture and the respect shown to us as strangers celebrating our anniversary. We are at a loss for words to express our gratitude to the entire staff at Rene at Tlaquepaque. We will definitely be returning!

Fresh and delicious variety of cuisine here. Food is so good we visited twice during our vacation —a must visit! Service from Joshua was outstanding. This restaurant is nestled in a lovely shopping area. We just happened to stumble upon it accidentally and we are so grateful we did! We throughly enjoyed our lunch sitting outdoors in the warm weather. Great people watching while drinking wine and eating a delicious assortment of dishes.

The service was amazing and our server really helped guide our delicious. The gnocchi was really light for walking around but very tasty and filling. Both of our salads were great as well. The dessert was a must have. Rene didn’t disappoint and for our first time we will be back.

Oh boy! I don't know if Im eloquent enough to describe how delicious the food here is...amazing, incredible, excellent, extraordinary, impressive? All of the above! Allen, our server, was great. He knew his specials, his recommendations were on point, and he took great care of us. There is a great difficulty to recommend which dish to get as everything we ordered was so darn good! The sauces....my god the sauces...were just magical. Compliments to the chef! You know your stuff! I should also mention that the venue itself is rather beautiful, especially at night. If I had to nitpick, I would say the inside of the restaurant was too dim. Also, make sure to make reservations way ahead of time and be prepared to pay hefty amount for dinner. But make no mistake, this place is worth every penny!

Read a lot of reviews prior to booking this restaurant and we had an experience that was aligned with majority of guests. Service was excellent, server exceeded expectations. All three of us loved the food. Escargot was fantastic, my house specialty rack of lamb carved table side was perfect. My wife loved her seafood risotto and son devoured his sea bass. Great restaurant.

Excellent atmosphere, food, and wait staff. All three entree's were great and the appetizers were excellent. Bread and garlic olive oil starter. Lasagna, Chino Bowl, and Falafel Bowl. Steak tartare and escargot for appetizers. Old Fashioned for myself.

To be honest, when we first came to René, we didn’t have high expectations. We had already tried a few other high-end, fine dining restaurants in Sedona, and while they were good, they didn’t particularly stand out—especially given the steep prices. But René completely changed our perception. The food was nothing short of astonishing. We started with the French onion soup and escargot, and both were hands down the best we’ve ever had—rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed. For our main courses, we ordered the rack of lamb and a fish dish flown in from Europe (we forgot the name, but it was phenomenal). The lamb was incredibly tender and bursting with flavor, and the fish was delicate and perfectly cooked. What surprised us the most, though, was the dessert. We pre-ordered the soufflé 30 minutes in advance, along with the crème brûlée, and they were both absolutely worth the wait. The soufflé was fresh, airy, and paired beautifully with the vanilla cream, while the crème brûlée was a spectacle—our server, Kaisie, torched it tableside, on her hand, adding a fun and impressive touch to the experience. And, of course, it tasted perfect. Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. Kaisie was friendly, professional, and had a great sense of humor, making our evening even more enjoyable. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, and I was hesitant at first, but after this experience, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. René is now one of my favorite restaurants—especially for French cuisine. If you’re in Sedona and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is the place to go!

Dinner was exquisite as always, but truly, it was Cody at the bar who made our evening perfect. He recommended (and then made) the best Old Fashioned, perfectly paired a bottle of wine to split between two dishes, and shared his expertise and experience with enthusiasm. We talked about life, travel, food, and drink, all while he crafted drinks and kept the bar humming along. If you're looking for an amazing experience, grab a couple of seats at the bar and tuck in for a great evening.

Amazing experience! Best food we had in Sedona. The lamb was off the charts and the sides were just decadent. Drinks were blended to an art. One of the best fine dining experiences in my life. Thank you for the experience

Fine dining at its best. This was a perfect spot to enjoy a family dinner while in town. We had a big group and enjoyed everything from rack of lamb to eggplant Parler Sean to vegan mushroom steak. We loved how many options they had and how accommodating they were. Also they had an extensive wine list and we loved the Italian reds. Dessert was to die for!

We were looking for a place to eat lunch on a Sunday which is probably the busy time at Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, we found Rene’s and WOW was the food fabulous. We started with the Bruschetta Board, the Baked Apple & Foie Gras with pomegranate and fig jam was absolutely amazing as was the Classic Tuscan and the Spanish Iberico Ham & Triple Cream Brie. Hubby had the filet which was cooked perfectly, I had the Monte Cristo Sandwich which was very nice. The duck-fat fries were delicious as was the crème brûlée. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely place with excellent French service. Our server was spot on. We cannot eat garlic which almost everything on the menu had but the chef accommodated us deliciously. Great time!

Really incredible food! We had the sea bass special and it exceeded our expectations. Started with the beet salad which was also super good - cocktails and wine pairing suggestions were spot on. I knew this place would be good, but was honestly pleasantly surprised at how good it truly was! Staff was also very attentive and sweet!! The atmosphere was also very calm and quiet - great if you have family or want to have intimate conversation (you can speak normally and hear each other well)…no yelling over restaurant noise! 10/10 recommend for a nice night out!!

We love Rene! The food was high quality and very fresh, and the service was outstanding! Our server Anthony was wonderful. He was very attentive and kind, and he was knowledgeable and helpful in identifying gluten-free options on the menu. He also was very welcoming with our dog and even brought her a water bowl. All around excellent experience!

Restaurant René in Sedona was an absolute standout. The service was top notch from start to finish, the menu is amazing, and the steak was cooked to perfection. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, helpful, and on top of everything without ever feeling intrusive. Also—major shoutout to the mocktails. They were artful and thoughtfully made (not just juice topped with soda water). Dessert was fantastic and not overly sweet; we shared the soufflé and the cheesecake and loved both. Worth the price for the quality and experience.

Phenomenal French restaurant and probably the best restaurant in Sedona Arizona. Amazing flavors and artistry and fantastic wine menu as well as top Notch bartenders that can really make a fantastic cocktail. Maybe one of the best escargot I've had in years.

Great location. Server was awesome. Escargot not authentic. We had the salmon and sea bass which were delicious. Ordered the chocolate souffle in plenty of time but ended up waiting a half hour after finishing our entrees. Souffle was a waste of time and money.

"This restaurant exceeded my expectations! I celebrated my solo birthday here and initially, an attentive server (unfortunately, I didn't catch her name) treated me to amazing entrees and wine recommendations she was very nice and provided top-notch service. Then, Joshua took over and continued the exceptional service. The ambiance, food, and overall vibe were absolutely fantastic.

This place was an unexpected pit stop for lunch while exploring the Tlaquepaque arts and shopping village, and turned out to be our favorite restaurant in Sedona. All of the food was excellent, the service was on point, and the atmosphere was great. Granted we were there in between lunch and dinner, so I can't speak for the experience when it is at full swing. We had some bread for an appetizer, and I had the kobe burger with a side salad for lunch. Everything was great and we tried to get a reservation for dinner to go back a couple days later if that tells you anything about our experience. Definitely recommend this place for a splurge since it is a pricey meal.

Service was incredible. Rib eye was good, not great. Lacked flavor and was very chewy. The truffle sauce helped. Medium was in between medium rare and medium, some bites were lukewarm. Bone marrow was amazing, salty but balanced well with bacon maple toppings. Mushrooms sides were delicious, rich in flavor.

Food is expensive and tastes above average. The front desk service is awful, arrogant, and possibly discriminatory. Despite the rain stopping for 30 minutes, Rene informed us they were fully booked at lunch and would need to wait for hours. We requested an outdoor seat, but they were unsure if they would set the table and had no room if it rained. While we spoke, the waiter continued setting up patio tables. We decided to take the risk and were seated within 10 minutes. The waiter provided good service throughout. The bill was $285.

The ambiance is excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was OK. The Monte Cristo was by far the best of the lunch selections we had. Rene burger was ok, did not care for the toasted bread. Brie soup was very good-creamy. Artichoke dip was creamy and very spicy-did not expect it.

I celebrated my birthday at Rene and had a mixed and inconsistent experience throughout the evening. The ambiance, wine selections, appetizer, desserts and sides were great. Our mains however were very below average for the cost, and we were very disappointed that they were out of the sea bass which is one of their well known dishes. Medium rare $95 NY strip steak came out medium well close to well done. Our server was very friendly, but overall service was very spotty. We waited at least 15 minutes from when we were sat to someone greeting us, and timing of everything after that was off for the whole meal such as wine ordered to pair with mains came out way after we were served, dessert order was taken when mains just landed on the table (but only for me, not my dining partner) which led to desserts coming out sporadically. For the high price tag of the meal, we were disappointed and feel this restaurant could do much better in many aspects as the concept, location and menu are great, but didn’t live up to expectation (especially for a birthday). Hopefully this was just a fluke evening during a busy time of year in Sedona, but we will likely not be returning.

No doubt, the atmosphere is great and the food is good. Our waiter was also very attentive. However, the 3% credit card surcharge completely ruined the experience. This is not a taco stand—it’s a high-end restaurant where a bill can easily reach $200, yet they still nickel-and-dime customers over credit card processing fees. For context, Visa and Mastercard typically charge merchants around 2.x% in processing fees, meaning the restaurant is likely profiting from this surcharge rather than simply covering costs. I’m sure the owner makes enough to absorb the credit card fees, but instead chose to pass them on to customers—effectively ripping off tourists. The food is good, but is it good enough to make me want to return knowing this is their practice? Absolutely not. You can find comparable food at any decent restaurant in most cities without being hit with hidden fees. I recommend supporting restaurants that don’t impose this kind of surcharge.

Beautiful setting and a lovely server, but our experience was ultimately very disappointing and not family-friendly. We came to René with our 2-year-old and were hoping for a special dinner. Our server was genuinely wonderful and the sea bass was excellent. Unfortunately, the positives ended there. Our toddler became unusually fussy that evening (as toddlers sometimes are), and we were doing everything possible to manage it: stepping outside, soothing him, offering snacks, toys, books, constantly trying to keep him calm and avoid disrupting anyone. Despite that, a staff member came to our table and said, “You have to do something with the baby, this is a fine dining restaurant.” We were very clearly already doing everything we could, and hearing that felt insensitive and unnecessarily chastising. What we needed in that moment was empathy or support, not a reprimand when we were already stressed and actively trying to handle the situation. If René truly does not want young children in the dining room, that is their right, but it should be communicated upfront rather than making families feel unwelcome after they’re seated. Food-wise, the sea bass was great, but the dry-aged bone-in New York strip was overly charred to the point that the bitterness overpowered the flavor of the meat. Overall, between the way our situation was handled and the inconsistent food, this was not the experience we hoped for. Families with young children may want to think twice before booking.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary during a trip to Sedona, hoping for a quiet, fine-dining experience with enough space for our 6-year-old. Our son is a very sweet kid who doesn’t eat much but likes to move around a bit, so we were looking for a place that could accommodate us comfortably. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. First, the service was cold and unwelcoming. When our waitress approached, all of us — including our son — were sitting quietly, yet she seemed visibly annoyed to see us. She explained the menu without a smile or any sign of hospitality. What made it worse was seeing her interact with the next table, where all the guests were Caucasian — she was warm, cheerful, and full of smiles with them. The contrast was hard to ignore, and honestly, it felt discriminatory. Later, when we ordered dessert, our son — understandably bored by then — started playfully handling the black pepper on the table. We immediately apologized to a different waiter, but he simply stared at us blankly, offering no reassurance. Our original waitress even sighed loudly, making us feel more judged than accommodated. We had dressed up, driven all the way to Sedona, and chosen this place expecting a special evening. Instead, we left feeling unwelcome and disappointed. The only thing that was good was the food. For a restaurant that markets itself as fine dining, this level of service and attitude is unacceptable. We will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Went for our 25 year anniversary. The table was located in a quiet corner and had rose petals scattered on it. Nice touch, but no one remembered to put all of the other things back on the table or clean the food from the seats. I recovered them from the next table over. We ordered a glass of wine and french onion soup to start. It was a little over salted but by far the best part of the meal. We were never asked if e wanted a second glass of wine. For entrees el my wife had filet and lobster. Both were overcooked. The steak was slightly over medium and she ordered medium rare. The lobster was charred black and rubbery. I had the beef cheeks. The flavors and tenderness were excellent, but the cut of meat was not trimmed properly and had excessive lumps of connective tissue. Some bites contained no meat, only collagen. Then came the dessert. Our waiter did not put in the souffle order. The menu clearly stated to order it with the entree due to prep time. We did, the restaurant staff did not. We would have had to wait an additional 30 minutes if we wanted it. They discounted our $250 bill by $16 and said sorry. I cannot recommend this restaurant for the price and felt cheated out of a memorable anniversary dinner.

Food is ok but NEVER come here if you have children. If the child makes any sound the manager will come to you to offer sarcasm Not even trying to offer any help, when you are trying so hard to calm the child. Great DISCRIMINATION to parents. Because they are “fine dining restaurant “🙄

My waiter was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the specials. Unfortunately, his coworker was uptight and in a bad mood. When I took a phone call from my husband he aggressively tapped on my table and said “no phones/speakers in main dining” as if I were his own child. As I looked around I noticed they weren’t even following the dress code guidelines given they were serving individuals that appeared like they were straight off of a hike! This was done in poor taste and made me very uncomfortable, but I still wanted to give the food a chance. I ordered the lobster bisque and the only thing I liked about it was the lobster itself. The soup base was bland and watery. For my entree I had the scallop pasta. Once again, the scallops were okay but you can tell the pasta sauce was literally ONLY pesto and no seasoning. Also, the scallops were tougher than I prefer. My waiter decided to remove the soup without me asking which I appreciate and I gave him a great tip. Long story short - the food is not worth it and the restaurant is all hype.

I booked a Thanksgiving reservation at René through OpenTable for 4:30 PM. This was my first time spending Thanksgiving out of town, and I was looking forward to a warm, special meal in Sedona. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing due to the restaurant’s management. We arrived at 3:30 PM and politely called to ask if we could be seated earlier. The response was a flat “no.” We decided to stop by and check in person, hoping for some flexibility, but the manager refused again and only offered seats at the bar. We told him we preferred a proper table and would return for our 4:30 reservation. When we came back, instead of being welcomed by the manger, we were seated at a corner table against the wall near the bar—one of the least desirable tables in the restaurant. When we asked if a better table was available, or even something outside, the manager responded with a dismissive, “That’s all I have.” No effort, no courtesy, no hospitality. What made the experience worse was his behavior toward the staff. During our meal, we watched the manager clap his fingers at young servers and give them sharp looks—completely unprofessional and disrespectful. These employees were working on Thanksgiving rather than being with their families; the least they deserved was kindness. I chose this restaurant hoping for a warm, inviting Thanksgiving dinner. Instead, the tone was cold, unwelcoming, and handled with poor management from start to finish. Sedona is full of incredible dining options, but sadly, this is not one of them. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend it based on our experience. The food may matter, but hospitality matters more—and that was severely lacking.
