This is our favorite sushi restaurant in the area. Food is fresh and the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. We tend to prefer more of the raw selections. Favorites include: Briana (a cucumber wrapped roll that is on their specials), Rainbow 13, and the Dark Rainbow. There are a wide variety of selections for both those who like cooked or raw options and plenty of noodle and rice dishes. We have had great customer service even on days that are busy. I am extremely grateful we have a place in Seguin that can satisfy my sushi cravings.

This is the only really good sushi place in Seguin. It also probably qualifies as the fanciest place (the only fancy place?) in Seguin. They'll make rolls off menu of you tell them what you want. As vegetarians we love it when a restaurant will make a tempura fried before roll! Cocktails are well priced also. Update for April 2025: Had our family out tonight and we managed to somehow pick up a sushi order form with some previous party's order on it. We assumed someone in our party ordered it. So they brought out the "extra sushi" we explained the miscommunication and they were able to write off the cost. It's extra kindness and accommodation like this that makes this place so special. The food is great and the service is extra amazing!

The food here is absolutely AMAZING, my boyfriend and I ordered so much food I thought I was going to explode from eating so much haha. The service wonderful and I asked our sweet server what her favorite roll was which was the Mimi Roll and I DEFINITELY recommend trying it because it was SO good. I’m from Fort Worth so I’ll for sure be coming here every time I visit my best friend and can’t wait to come back!

The Pineapple 🍍 fried rice comes in a Pineapple! That was a shock 😲, the sushi 🍣 we ordered the rainbow roll and rainbow 13 roll; 💣 🔥 ☆super delightful. All around good food, clean, chill service. I would go again.

This is a very beautiful location and the restaurant has a great vibe to it. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. My wife and I had lunch there, but are excited to go back for dinner and eat on the back porch and have drinks.

Went here on a recommendation of some very good friends and just loved it. We started with the hot and sour soup and wonto soup. They both were some of the best we've ever had. Normally, we would eat some of the soup to save room for dinner, but we both at ever bit of our soup. Words can't explain how good they both were. Dinner was just as good! We had General Tso chicken and Teriyaki chicken, both outstanding. I wish mine had a little more heat, but other than that the food was amazing. This place is extremely busy every time we go and a bit pricy but we'll worth it.

Excellent! Seguin Surprise! Really enjoyed the evening at A-Tan . Beautiful standout building. Parking right out front. Walked into a bustling Bistro and Bar and greeted by Hostess and other servers immediately. We asked to sit at the classic sushi bar and our server welcomed us and took our drink order in less than a minute. We ordered a 370ml bottle of cold non-filtered sake the server recommended, ordered a couple bowls of their Miso soup and checked out their menu. My son is a regular at their New Braunfels location and picked out his go-to favorites. To start, the Lobster Tower and the Gruene Roll. I ordered the Squid Salad and a couple of my favorite raw seafood rolls; Yellowtail Roll and Tuna roll. The Miso soup came out quickly and it was excellent. They were generous with the Miso and tofu and got us started-off nicely. The Lobster Tower was spectacular and I’d highly recommend that to anyone. The combination of sauces used in this dish were excellent. See the picture I posted to appreciate the presentation, The Squid Salad was exceptional and they added fresh fresh cucumber and their own touch that made this dish a favorite. The Rolls were nicely put together and the classic Tuna roll was fresh and the attention to detail was appreciated. The Yellowtail roll was excellent as well. I decided to plan a visit to try the Nigiri and Sashimi in a couple weeks! This was a great find and I expect to make this one of my go-to locations. 5+ stars.

Heard the Seguin location was supposed to be better than the NB location, so we tried it out (never been to NB location) food was good, fresh, made to order. Everyone enjoyed their meal and sitting outside on the deck was really nice this evening.!

First timers here, food was good! Loved these puffs, and soup… also tried the chicken katsu. So much to choose from, all sounds so good. For parking we had to go to the Public Library parking lot. Was able to find seating right away for us. Didn’t catch waitresses name but my receipt says Rini… she was very nice but SO slow, wasn’t as attentive- didn’t receive any refills on our drinks… And we had to wave down a different server for our To-Go plate and tickets! She didn’t seem to have many tables as it’s a small restaurant so we could see the whole area. Definitely would like to return to try other items on their menu though. (And I was late returning back to work!)

Food was good but not great. Sashimi was room temp at best, pork ramen had very little to zero amounts of pork in it but copious amounts of sodium, avocado in bento box was about a day past its freshness date and it just ruined the entire flavor of the California roll. Mochi was delicious. Staff looks really burnt out and it shows in thier customer service.

I do want to start this by saying the food was incredible. Everything was very very good, sushi rolls are fantastic and the portions are generous. The issue that I had was with our service. Our server took our order fine but it took a very long time to get our drinks from the bar, we ordered appetizers, some sushi rolls, & a few dinner plates. Everything came out all out of order. I've worked in restaurants so I try to be fair and understanding when it's a busy night. However I do not appreciate being rushed out by having our bill brought to the table. We would have liked to hang out a bit and maybe order another drink from the bar but again we felt as if we were being rushed out. There was still 2 hours before they closed. I will say that I will be giving this place another go as the food was very good and I believe that what we experienced was not the normal.

I gave this place a second chance, but I’m officially done. My first experience was a mess (received cheap chicken instead of the shrimp I paid for, plus missing soup), but this second visit was even worse. I placed my order at 5:26 PM for a 6:00 PM pickup. I didn’t actually walk out with my food until 6:35 PM—over an hour wait for a takeout order. When I asked about the delay, the staff was incredibly rude, acting like I was the problem for expecting my food to be ready within 35 minutes of the promised time. To make matters worse, once I got home, I realized they are clearly cutting corners. My beef and broccoli had no rice, and the "Happy Family" meal was a joke—zero beef and exactly ONE scallop. > I used to think they were just forgetful, but it’s funny how they only "forget" the most expensive parts of the meal. They swap shrimp for chicken and skimp on the seafood while overcharging you. Between the terrible service, the hour-long wait, and the missing proteins, this place is a total rip-off. Save your money and go somewhere that actually respects their customers.

Don’t order takeout from here unless you want to wait for 45 minutes and then get brought your food that was prepared 30 minutes ago and told “sorry for the wait”. I was told several times “it’s almost done” “it’s getting bagged now”. It was 3 skewers and a few pieces of sushi. I saw numerous staff standing around and talking while one guy was actually trying to let me know he at least saw me there. Absolute waste of $30, had good experiences in the past but will not return. Urge you to try Ebi Ebi or Sakura by HEB instead. Quick, hot, and good.

Have been a loyal customer to A Tan for years, even the one in New Braunfels. Got take out with my daughter. Got home (half way to Gonzales) and started eating. Noticed a hair in my A Tan Puffs. Trashed that and thought I’ll see how the rest of the meal was. I ordered the AI tempura roll and they gave me 2 other random rolls. Called them for a refund, as they should. The wanted me to come back. It’s a school night with little kids, I’m not driving back. Then they wanted to come to me and at that point I was more mad out of principle that they were arguing so relentlessly and refusing to refund. I offered to send them pictures and that obviously wasn’t an option for them. So here’s what I got (had to dig it back out of the trash).
