Reminds me of the old Oxnard chicken bowl !

Love this little hole in the wall local family owned business. Always consistent good food. And very nice people.

Love this place. Simi Valley landmark for as long as I can remember. Fresh good and cheap teriyaki..made quickly while you wait.

Been going here since I was born best way to put it simplicity at its best, they’ve mastered the art of the teriyaki bowl.

I have been coming here since 1996. I have moved out of state for 9 years, but come every time I am in town. The lady here has always been the same. Friendly, asking about my family, always. She knows my 2 ex-husbands even! I love her! No the atmospherr hasn't changed in all that time. The soda machine, high chair, the menu. Only the prices but still a bargain! Cash only forever, but now takes Zelle I see! This is a chicken bowl without the sickeningly sweet sugary terryaki sauce you get everywhere else. It's savory. The veggies are warm and soft. It is unlike bowls you get anywhere else- and that should NEVER change. If you want a BBQ sauce style terryaki go somewhere else and don't whine about the flavor here. 😀

Ive been coming here for about 20 years. Great food great, great prices, and the staff is always friendly. The portion size is great, and they dont skimp. Ive tried everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Without a doubt #1 in my book, NO ONE CAN COMPARE.

We've been there 100's of times over several decades. Food is prepared only when you order, it's tasty, inexpensive and quickly served! Like someone else said, it's like a better Yoshinoya. We much prefer the noodles over the rice, but both are good. We get extra veggies for a dollar. A large for 7 bucks could easily feed 2 people!

This place has always been absolutely amazing! You can get half rice and half noodles. People saying the noodles are bland... that's because they are noodles. You put sauce on them. The rice is perfect. They use a machine. The sauce is a house sauce, so it's unique, same with the hotsauce. I ask for extra of both.

The food here is consistent and delicious. Tasty with a sense of homemade. It doesn't taste like takeout if that makes sense. The place is outdated but the food and price is good.

I love the flavor! But I noticed recently that the portion has gotten a little "cheap", there's less meat now. I hope this doesn't keep happening.

Price is fair but food is very VERY bland. Every sauce is very watery and seems deluted. Definitely needs more flavor. Hot sauce seems deluted as well. The food was cooked ok. Inside of place needs a little cleaning and painting.

Bland meat, too much sauce to cover it. Poor quality meat, too. Not expensive, but still disappointed. Dining area was too warm. Business is cash only. The people may be nice, but the rest of the experience was low quality. Do not recommend.

Fist off, the people who own this place are nice and make you feel welcome. Having said that, I have no idea what everyone else ordered to give these reviews. Hands down, the worst Teriyaki Chicken Bowl I've ever had. The sauce is bland and doesn't have the classic Teriyaki sweet, savory, aromatic balance. I don't know how to explain the flavor, but it's not Teriyaki. It has a somewhat smokey flavor that's really off-putting for what you're expecting to eat. I got plenty of chicken, that was well cooked. The vegetables were done we'll enough. The rice has the texture of minute rice, and was hard, even though it was cooked, bit it didn't hold the sauce like well cooked rice should. I don't think I'll be going back if this a representation of their best, or even an average. Just a strange flavor to be called Teriyaki.

Noodles are plain!! spaghetti noodles straight from the hot water pot mixed with teriyaki sauce. Steak & rice is oookay. 4/10

Have been coming here for over 15 years. Havn’t been for few months. The chicken was dry and the garlic sauce sides were so watered down to the point it had no flavor. Prices have gone up & they are ripping the customers off by watering down their sauces. I think I’m done with this place for good.

Don't waste your time eating here spend $13 for water down food. The terriyaki was very bland the sauce was watery and the chicken was horrible. Tottaly wasted my time stopping here when I thought giving them a chance

Unfortunately I was mislead by the good reviews. Bland sauce, bland beef masked by lime, and hard rice. I paid $13.00 to review this place because the food was not edible.

What Restaurants in simi valley asks to pay in cash. Went to the chicken bowl yesterday for my first time. I ordered and told CASH only. They told me that there is a ATM machine right by the door. Why would I draw money out and be charged for a service fee that they probably pocket themselves. I just walked out. Never going back again.

Picked up a Chicken Bowl to go. Please note I have been coming here for years. The brocollii was rotten, ( yellow and almost vomited after one bite) The chicken has a different flavor and was extra chewy. Even the bowls are different. Needless to say, I wont be coming back.

Steak bowl was my favorite until recently, every bite I took their was big chunks of fat that it was just the one bit after going back a few times still a bunch of fat

I waited all week to treat myself to lunch take out, and was unfortunately disappointed. For $18, (without a drink) I could've had Panda. The noodles tasted like the water they were boiled in, the teriyaki is the consistency of the gravy I put on mashed potatoes. I also expected a sweetness to the sauce but since im not a Teriyaki conassiur, I can only describe it was more like a gravy than not.. salty, not at all sweet. The veggies seemed fresh, except that I only got 4 tiny pieces of broccoli. At least now I know.
