I stopped here for a quick lunch, service was fast, and food was served promptly, warm, and it looked fantastic. I ordered 1 fish, 1 carnitas (mexicali style), and 1 asada taco. Food tasted fantastic with their salsas also hitting the spot. My only complaint is that the asada didn't tasted up to par. I wish I had gotten a lime with my tacos as well. It's a fundamental side add-on.

Went here for lunch a few days ago and glad I did. I got the Al Pastor tacos and they were pretty good! Definitely enjoyed the food, good quality and they came out pretty quickly. Will have to be back to try some of the other things on the menu!

My buddies recommended this place, finally brought the family to see for ourselves on 4/13/24. The asada nachos were the best I've had from anywhere. Their tacos were overflowing with chicken and asada. Enough to eat what fell out with a spoon. Their salsa tasted like my abuela made it. Also, check out their one of kind merch in-store. Don't forget to take your card out of the card reader :)

I see an expansion in their future. My absolute favorite is the carnitas street tacos. I top them with their green salsa. The meat is juicy, so flavorful and you get a meat packed taco every time. You also must get chips and salsa, I'm picky with salsa and could not stop eating. Must must check them out.

I'm surprised this doesn't have higher reviews. I highly recommend the specialty tacos over their regular ones. I hate cilantro and they almost always have a piece or two that probably falls off their gloves, but other than that it's really good. The staff are friendly and I've had them take back multiple orders that ended up with cilantro with no issue. Highly recommend.

Tacos 805 is officially my #1 Mexican food spot in all of Simi Valley. And that’s saying a lot because Simi is BLESSED with some seriously good Mexican restaurants. But after multiple visits, this place continues to deliver unbeatable quality, flavor, and value. I first came here just to try the birria tacos and wow. They were hands-down incredible. Then I heard about their Taco Tuesday special and had to check it out... I’m glad I did. For around $10–$11 (plus tax), you get 3 tacos (carne asada, grilled chicken, or al pastor), rice and beans, and let me tell you... the quality AND quantity is unmatched. The flavor? Next-level. If you're a pizza lover, the Birria Pizza is a must. It's loaded with birria, cilantro, cebolla, and comes with a consommé dipping sauce = 🔥🔥🔥. The portion is massive, so bring your appetite (or a friend!). Another standout: the Mar y Tierra Burrito (steak & shrimp). Hearty, flavorful, and filling. I usually have to pace myself and eat it in halves... and trust me, I can eat. But this thing will have you ready for a nap if you finish it in one sitting. I haven’t tried the tortas yet, but they look 🔥 and they’re definitely on my radar. Yes, it’s a small place, but they’ve maximized the space and created a cozy, clean atmosphere. Bonus: they’ve got a great beer bar with a rotating selection of brews. There’s always a steady flow of people, and for good reason. Tacos 805 is Simi’s hidden gem. Pro tips: • Get there early on Tuesdays — it gets packed! • Pickled onions? A MUST. • Want a spicy kick? Order their grilled chile dorado (a.k.a. chile endiablado) in jalapeño or serrano. 🔥 • Red salsa is spicy, green is milder, both are bomb. Bottom line: Tacos 805 delivers the total package. Flavor, value, and consistency. Easily a 5-star experience every time.

The food never disappoints. The staff sucks. And the atmosphere is what it is - sports bar vibe-ish.... Not really sure. But the food is outstanding and that's why I go!!!!

The first time I went there, I was caught off guard by their 6 dollar drink. but get the smaller drink, and you get refills. Other than that, the food is amazing. I ordered the 805 burrito (carne asada), and the meat was juicy. Then I ordered two tacos dorados. oh man, they were so good it reminded me of a home-cooked meal. Overall, a Great experience and I will go back when I can. Specially for my lunch

We love everything about 805 tacos! We have tried most of the menu items and have not been disappointed. Our favorites are the street tacos, chips and guacamole, nachos, specialty tacos etc. Not one thing we have not liked. Love the stainless steel water cups and presentation of food. We have sent many friends to check them out and it has become their new favorite place as well. Definetly need to expand, which is a good thing!

We shared one burrito and it was a good size! Waiter were a bit slow with the check though.

I would come back for the Quesabirria taco alone. It was perfect. Flavor, tender…perfection. The fish taco was better than most but not as good as some others. The Dorado chicken taco was full of chicken but hard to bite through since it was so dense. The salsa Verde and Compote was a great addition. Chips (great) and guacamole (good) were good but their salsa was great for an all flavor little spice red salsa. 50$ for 2 adults and I would say totally worth it. I will be back for sure!!!

You get plenty of meat in each taco and the prices are very reasonable. Note, that the Chips & Salsa are not complementary like at some places but it’s well worth the prices to treat yourself. Recommended. There’s also a bar with sports showing on multiple TVs. Seating is limited as is the parking but visiting on a Saturday at lunch it wasn’t hard to find either. Staff was super friendly and their recommendation (the Pork Belly taco) was on point. Updated November, 2025: I went back to Tacos 805 today for dinner. I had the taco Al Pastor with pineapple & marinated pork. It was OK but there’s other tacos I prefer more there. The seasoning in the meat is unique and the pineapple makes for a spicy/sweet flavor. I also sampled the Quesaberia Taco with braised beef, cheese, red onion & cilantro. This taco was very good but be aware it’s pretty oily from the braised beef and melted cheese. Recommended. Lastly, I tried the Taco Derado with chicken. The crunchy flour taco shell was light and crispy. The chicken could have been chopped finer IMO but otherwise the taco was delicious and the queso fresco tasty.

I’m completely blown away by the quesaburrito and carne asada fries, that might be the most flavorful burrito I’ve had in Simi. 10/10 meal, little pricey but I think you’re definitely getting your plates worth.

It’s a small spot with several tables and a bar with maybe 6 seats. They have TVs that will play par per view sports events like ufc/boxing. A good selection of American foods, like wings, and some type of birria pizza, which is more American than Mexican or Italian.

Unreal food. Definitely busy but we had no wait. Unbelievably fast. I am so full but can't wait to go again. The papa asada is amazing!

This place is great. Our group was 3 people and the total check was only $30 something dollars. The portions are big and absolutely delicious! One person in our group got the taquitos and they looked amazing. I got a couple tacos and they were great. I will definitely be back.

Was having a New Year’s Day taco and burrito craving, so we decided to order from Tacos805. I’ve been here a few times before when they first opened, and I’ve always thought their tacos were solid. This visit started off strong. The chips and salsa were absolutely wonderful—fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. The carne asada tacos, both flour and corn, were also very good. They’re fairly basic, but sometimes simple is best. The steak had good flavor, was cooked well, and didn’t need much else. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill with the Mar y Tierra shrimp and steak burrito. I was completely unimpressed. There’s just way too much going on in that burrito. It was overloaded with sauce, making the entire burrito soggy and messy. The shrimp were very small, overly salty, and honestly took away from the overall flavor instead of enhancing it. The shrimp felt cheap and didn’t pair well with the steak at all. If I were the owner, I’d strongly consider removing the shrimp from that burrito altogether and sticking to what this place clearly does well—chicken and carne asada. That’s where they shine. Also worth noting: chips and salsa are charged separately, which is fine to know going in. Overall, I would definitely come back for the tacos only, but I would not order a burrito again. Stick to the basics here and you’ll likely have a much better experience.

3 stars because the food is good. 3/7 I placed a phone order at 5:23pm. Arrived 10 minutes later and paid for my food. 30 minutes later, 40 minutes after it was called in, I still had no food. So I asked the bartender to check on it for me (I was 4 feet away from the to-go orders the whole time). Sure enough it was sitting there getting cold and soggy. The bartender was nice and officered a free drink but I’d much prefer a hot meal to take home to my wife. Or if it’s going to be a cold soggy one, a free meal. 0% chance I would ever call in a to-go order again. 4/22: my wife called in an order after I swore off another phone order. History, as it does, repeated itself. My wife walked in and there was no order. The order was never entered and never made it to the cooks. Good food isn’t worth bad service. Look elsewhere.

The food and staff at Taco 805 in Simi Valley are great, but the manager during our visit was very unprofessional. We were a group of about 25 people (6 families) coming for lunch after a sporting event. When we asked for group seating, the manager said it would take a while, which we completely understood given our size. Since we didn’t want to wait, we suggested splitting up and sitting at separate tables since there were a few open ones. He was hesitant but eventually agreed. The first issue came when we asked for separate checks, as we were sitting separately. He said it wasn’t possible, which didn’t make sense to us. Then, a few minutes later, he informed us that the bill would still include a “large party” gratuity, even though we weren’t seated together. I told him that people would tip if the service was good, and adding this automatically felt unnecessary. What really shocked me was when I mentioned that this didn’t feel welcoming, and he responded with, “You don’t have to come to Taco 805.” That’s not something you say to paying customers. Despite the good food and great service from the other staff, I won’t be returning to this place because of that one unprofessional experience. Unfortunately, they’ve lost some local customers.

TODAY: Sunday. June 29, 2025. Third time visiting this restaurant. All 3 visits with similar experiences. Food is mediocre. Not good, not bad. Very expensive, far beyond the quality of the food they sell. Their mexican food is poorly made, not well balanced in taste. Some are salty, some have no salt at all, some very acidic (maybe excess of vinegar, lemon juice, or a mixture of both), while other foods very sweet perhaps from too much sugar or too much ketchup. Someone in the kitchen is definitely not doing a good job. This is the experience I had in this restaurant in three different visits about the food they have sold to me. The location looks fine but is deceiving. This is my last visit. Today, I asked for "one fish ceviche tostada" and "one large octopus cocktail" to go. I was charged $42.90 usd for these two items. On other expensive mexican restaurants that I had visited before, "one (single) fish ceviche tostada " would range between $8.00 - $10.00 usd. In this restaurant, you will pay $18.00 usd for one fish ceviche tostada. The food was paid, and I added a tip. After payment. I was asked to wait outside the restaurant for my food. I went outside. I waited about 20 minutes. When the food was ready, no one came outside to let me know that my food was ready. I calculated it was time, and I went back inside myself to ask if my food was ready. Sure enough, my food was ready and waiting for me. But nobody came outside to let me know. I took my togo food bag and left. In most mexican restaurants that serve seafood, "fish ceviche" is normally served with "corn tostadas." I purchased one, so I expected one corn tostada. I considered that the restaurant employees would place inside the togo bag all the necessary utensils and food companions for the food that I had purchased from them. Upon arrival at home, I discovered that the "corn tostada" was missing. There were no utensils included like forks or spoons either. The "octopus cocktail" was very sweet, as if they mixed all the octopus meat in ketchup and added extra sugar. The "fish ceviche " was tasteless, had no salt, and was extremely acidic. It was swimming in lemon juice and/or vinegar. This one I had to throw away. It was not edible. It was a total disappointment. From my 3 previous experiences. I had some hopes that this time it would be okay for me to eat at this restaurant. Nope! False hopes. I did call them the same day to let them know about my frustration on the food that they sold me. They did offer me a refund on the "fish ceviche" ($18+ dollars) or a replacement food. I declined because I had to drive back, and I was not in the mood. Plus, I had lost my appetite. They can keep the money. I don't have plans to go back. Too many bad experiences for me there.

Horrible Customer Service and the Food horrible for the prices that they charge here. The owner (guy with tattoos and braces) was the rudest,gets upset when you ask for extra lime or a refill on the sodas (which they advertise on the Menu FREE REFILLS). Then he goes back and tells his employee Erika and they look at us and laugh. He should lead by example, all he’s showing his workers it’s that it’s okay to be rude to the customers. He was upset bc the person I came with last time gave him a bad review. The owner said “I can’t believe you have the audacity to come back after your friend left a bad review!” Whole team including the owner need training and customer service skills. On the way out as I was leaving he was pointing with his hand and kept touching me and I asked him not to touch me I know where the exit was.

First and last time coming at this restaurant from Hollywood found a long blonde hair in my Queso Burro on the first bite. Felt really disgusted. Employees don’t wear hair nets coming from a person that works in a kitchen at a hospital.

I wanted to like this place SO BADLY. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and I was so excited to try it. Unfortunately when I say the food was genuinely inedible I am not being hyperbolic. The drinks were fantastic I will say- But we got two carne asada breakfast burritos and when I tell you they were positively SEEPING in oil or butter I mean it. The tortillas were essentially soaked through with oil and it was dripping amounts of grease I didn’t even know were fathomable onto literally every surface available. The meat was also gristly and so fatty. The oil made it genuinely inedible It was actually such a horrible experience and for $14 each it was insanely disappointing.
