My husband and I still dream about our extraordinary dinner here. The flavors, textures, and overall experience were that amazing. The team was also very sweet and helpful. We loved their recommendations. To add to the experience there was also live music which we enjoyed very much. It was difficult to get a reservation even as an Atelier guest, but they helped us out. If you can get a reservation here I would take it in a heartbeat

Phenomenal experience for 6 of us. Christian was our server and incredibly helpful and made it an even better experience. Food was spot on. Interesting twists that added unique flavors. The ceviche scallops with a liquid nitrogen pour over was super tasty. The Onions soup was a highlight. Super rich. The main course was a beef wellington. Perfectly cooked and with 4 different sauces to pair it with. We also has some custom drinks made that were so good. Highly recommend.

Celebrated a birthday here. Experience was positive but not perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. We ordered a few dishes to share and a bottle of wine. The value provided for the money was very good. Our server Cristian gave us great suggestions and knew the menu well. We ordered the carrots, avocado soup, scallop ceviche, prawns, beef wellington and a dessert. Carrots were a great appetizer, colorful presentation, great mix of flavors. Avocado soup was ok. I felt like it didnt have any salt, acidity or heat. A little bit flat on flavor. The chilli foam wasnt punchy as you'd expect, the other ingredients added a little texture, but wasnt super impressive overall. The scallop ceviche was the star of the night. Incredibly fresh scallops, well prepared, incredibly bright flavors and artistic presentation with a "wow" factor. Prawns were also delicious, generous portion (3 large ones), effectice presentation, tasty butter sauce, super fresh prawns. My least favorite was the wellington. The presentation was unappetizing and messy, the cook of the beef was questionable, deep cold red center. Flavor combinations were good between the 3 sauces/purees on the plate, but not amazing. Wellington is one of my favorite dishes and I expected a bit more from a Michelin star. I think some local restaurants in my area do it significantly better. Portion was generous. It was also the most expensive dish, making up almost a quarter of the overall bill. I would advise skipping this one and trying one of the other great dishes instead. Dessert was excellent. The dessert chef has great technique and an eye for detail, which was clearly displayed in the mutiple elements on the plate. We left happy and satisfied, would definitely go again if we are fortunate enough to spend time at this resort in the future.

Our evening at Maria Dolores was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere carried a sense of refinement and celebration. Our waiter was gracious, attentive, and knowledgeable without being intrusive. His timing, recommendations, and genuine warmth added a personal touch that set the entire evening apart. The food itself was a masterpiece. Every course was prepared with precision—vibrant flavors, exquisite presentation, and a balance that demonstrated remarkable culinary talent. Each bite was rich, thoughtful, and memorable. Maria Dolores delivers more than a meal; it offers an experience marked by artistry, hospitality, and exceptional taste. It will remain a highlight of our trip, and a place we look forward to returning to.

Maria Dolores is by far the best dining experience we have had in ten plus years visiting Mexico. We ordered the full tasting menu with wine pairings and enjoyed everything! There were, of course, a few standouts: papaya y ikura, tomale, foie flan, and pumpkin. The papaya y ikura was special; fresh, tender, balanced, truly unforgettable. The junmai sake pairing expertly complimented the fresh salinity of the salmon roe. I’ve had tomales before, but not like this. The texture was silky smooth and the huitlacoche flavor offers unctuous depth to the traditional steamed cornmeal dish. The foie flan was light and simultaneously rich, topped with a salty bunch of caviar, and drowned in rich onion caramel. That caramel. Mmmmmmm. I literally ate every…last…drop. The pumpkin was so clever and tasty, a great final dish on a fantastic menu. The staff were exceptional! Shoutout to Martin, our sommelier, who crafted the 100% Mexican wine pairing for the degustation menu. Extra love for that Sauvignon Blanc! And Ramon, Muchísimas gracias por la cena! Estuvo todo perfecto. Agradezco mucho su amabilidad! The entire team was attentive and deserve shout outs!

María Dolores was amazing. The service spectacular and the food was great! Inside the Atelier Plata Mujeres Resort, where we were vacationing, we emailed the restaurant to book for our honeymoon. Our server, Christian was extremely nice and guided us to order the best food for the best experience. We got complimentary champagne glass and desserts for our special celebration. The octopus tostada and the short rib were my favorite dishes.

The food and service here were excellent. This was by the far the best meal we had during our stay in Playa Mujeres. In particular, the red bell pepper raspberry ice cream was a delightful and unique treat. Other dishes of note were the scallop ceviche and jumbo shrimp. Christian was our waiter and incredibly attentive and friendly. His knowledge of Chinese and Korean - not just how to say “hello” but also of individual ingredients - surprised us! The general manager Angel also made the rounds to each table which was a wonderful personal touch.

We decided to eat here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Dinner was amazing to say the least! Each course was excellent. Glad we were able to get a reservation because it books very quickly. Beautiful restaurant with the most excellent food we have had in a long time! The service was impeccable (they made it feel like the fine dining that they so proudly advertise.) the atmosphere was beautiful with a live violinist walking around the restaurant serenading all patrons individually. Overall, this restaurant is so worth it, especially for the price you pay.

Really nice place. Violinist was great and walked table to table. Service was perfect - very attentive. All the food was wonderful. Small portions - so take that into consideration if you are hungry. Dessert was good - had the lime sorbet and my wife had a chocolate dish. It was my wife’s bday and they brought out a really nice treat for her. I had the carrot appetizer and grilled shrimp. All good - check it out!

Amazing place. To start the service was phenomenal. Our waiter was able to help us figure out exactly what we wanted including items that weren't explicitly on the menu (such as different types of drinks). Our meals were amazing. We ate every single piece of food off of our plates. I wish we didn't have to leave so we could eat there every night! It was pricey but the quality was absolutely that of a Michelin Star Restaurant. Definitely worth it. Cost for two people ended up being around 2700 pesos for starters, main course and dessert (before tip).

My wife and I had a wonderful New Year’s dinner here. The service and the atmosphere were both amazing. We had too many dishes to list them all, but some standouts were the black bean soup, the octopus tostada, the sea scallop ceviche and the suckling pig. A must try when staying at Atelier.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. I particularly enjoyed the beef filet and the hazelnut tart. The service was exceptional, which was a big part of the excellent experience we had. What a spectacular service by Roman and the team! Everything was exquisite and the food is phenomenal. This is my second time at Maria Dolores and I am blown away by it yet again. The restaurant is amazing and a must visit. The food is unbeliveable and the service matches. Highly reccomend letting the server guide you through reccomendations. We ate there three times during our trip and are already looking forward to go back. The bartender Mario makes incredible drinks. Start by trying the drink of the day and you will be sold. A Special thanks to Christian, Mario, Ivan, Iris, Roman and Armando!

I would rate this place 10 stars if I could. This place was fantastic! My wife and I were at the resort for our honeymoon and really wanted to eat here. Our server (Christian) was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. The food was amazing! Hands down the best food at the resort! (And everything at the resort is great!) My wife and I ordered a bunch of different things on the menu, And every bite was better then the last! My main course was the Beef Fillet. Let me tell you this was the best steak I’ve ever had! My wife had the duck breast, which was delicious! If you love good food, you must check this place out when at the resort!

One of the best dinners I've had. Christian was our server and was excellent, all of his recommendations were spot on! Every detail thoughtfully curated, live violin player went from table to table to interact. By chance they happened to play the song my wife walked down the aisle to at our wedding which was extra special since we were there celebrating our honeymoon.

We had an amazing dinner our first night on property. It was the perfect way to kick off our vacation. Our server Christian was helpful and gracious and took care of our every need! Highlights were our craft cocktails and the small bites chef sent out during our meal! We can’t wait to come back!

The food was magnificent. I cannot remember the proper names for the dishes but the carrot appetizer, black bean soup, grilled beef, and hazelnut tart were all treats for my soul. The combination of flavors, temperature of the food, tenderness of the beef and carrots were perfect. The presentation of the food added to the experience. And I can’t say enough about the service. Ramon and his team were outstanding- courteous, gave beautiful descriptions of the food as it was served, I felt well cared for.

We traveled all around the world. Tried dozens of cuisine and thousands of restaurants. And we didn’t expect that Maria Dolores turned out to be No 1 on our list. This is literally the best experience and taste we have ever had in any restaurant. Those guys took care of all small details from dinnerware to light, music, dishes, and even black/white napkins. This is a top-notch experience of Mexican/Yucatan cuisine! And Carmelio, our waiter, made this experience just unbelievably smooth and pleasant. He knew everything about every single dish, how it was made and much more. It was an astonishing experience and we will certainly come back!

We’re staying at Hotel Atelia Playa Mujeres and made a reservation to come eat here at Maria Dolores. It was one of the few restaurants that required a reservation here and I see why: the only thing better than this meal was the service. Our server was Andres, and he was friendly, conversational, and funny. From placing napkins on our laps (with tongs) to explaining the culture behind of some of the dishes we tasted, Andres and the rest of the staff deserve 5++ stars. Now the food: We started with some burrata which came with an eggplant purée. It was refreshing and a great start to our meal. We then tried soft shell crab tacos, which we ended up ordering seconds of and two tostados: sea scallops + beef carpaccio. Sooo delicious. For our main course, we had the duck and filet mignon - both of which were incredible cuts of meat with perfectly paired sides of sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, bordelaise sauce and mushrooms. The chocolate hazelnut dessert was probably the best dessert I’ve ever had. Wish I was in Mexico to visit here more often tbh. Thank you to the staff for making this an unforgettable dining experience during our trip ❤️

Had a great meal here! Christian was our server and made our night! You can tell he really cares about your dinner experience. Christian made menu recommendations and we mostly followed what he suggested. Our standout favorites were the carrots and the beef filet. Amazing! Also really enjoyed the live violinist. We preferred when they had they violinist or music playing as it added to the ambiance. We were celebrating our honeymoon and Christian brought us glasses of sparkling wine with our dessert. Very sweet!! Definitely a cool food experience to try!

As a Michelin-starred restaurant, I wasn’t the least bit surprised by the level of excellence—every single aspect of this meal was simply extraordinary. From the appetizers to the main courses and desserts, each dish was bursting with flavor. Even the peach gummy palate cleansers were a delightful surprise—so much thought and craftsmanship went into every bite. My friends enjoyed some expertly crafted cocktails made by the talented bar staff, and Alan, the sommelier, was truly exceptional. His wine recommendations, especially for a wine connoisseur in our group, were spot-on and elevated the entire experience. What really impressed me was how accommodating they were to my gluten and dairy sensitivities. In most Michelin-starred places, you’re often limited to set menus, but Maria Dolores offers a full menu of mouthwatering options tailored to dietary needs—an incredible level of care and flexibility. They also offer a Chef’s tasting menu, perfect for those looking to indulge in an unforgettable culinary journey. Having visited Cancun many times and dined at numerous great restaurants, I can confidently say that Maria Dolores far surpasses them all. No other restaurant in Cancun offers this level of culinary artistry and exceptionalism. A huge thank you to our server Christian, our sommelier Alan, and the manager, Angel. These three went above and beyond to make our experience perfect, offering thoughtful suggestions and impeccable service. It was genuinely beyond words. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Maria Dolores to anyone visiting Cancun. An absolute must-visit for anyone who appreciates extraordinary food and outstanding service.

Two of the food courses arrived too cold for our taste - puddings were excellent. Overall - didn't meet our expectations. Service is very attentive, but did not respond to our complaint about the cold food (other than taking it away to "heat" it up).

A good experience, but was expecting more. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings. 8 courses/pairings. Most were good... but there were 2 "misses" of the 8. The wine pairings were excellent and right on... all Mexican wines. The wine steward was excellent. Cost for meal was about $700USD for 2 people, including tip, so expectations were high... the meal took 3-1/2 hours. Service was mostly good, but did have some gaps throughout the evening... had frequent difficulty getting water glasses refilled, for example. Live music was too loud when playing and, therefore, somewhat annoying. -- The meal didn't start off well when our waiter tried to get us to order a $200 bottle of wine before we even had a chance to look at a menu. Ridiculous. -- I was hoping to leave this experience with only wonderful memories and praise, but it fell a bit short.

Such a fun evening! The staff were kind and naturally so. The venue feels exclusive yet comfortable. The food is tasty and thoughtful, but maybe too considerate of international clientele. The flavors were not as large as my anticipation to dine here. I hope the chef takes more risk to challenge us with bold flavors.

So hard to rate this. Some items were spectacular and some were okay. We ordered with guidance from our server. HIGHLY RECOMMEND: tempura shrimp taco & octopus tostada. I could have lived without: baby carrots, mushroom taco (lackluster flavor), black bean soup, amaranth salad, tuna tostada, grilled beef w/ mushrooms, short rib. The food was all solid, I just really wanted to be wowed and it missed the mark for me.

Food is maybe geared towards a more adventurous palate who likes a twist on everything. I am open to new tastes, but I also like existing food done well and true to the original recipe. We had several dishes, and the theme was strong flavor like smoky, bitter, fermented, etc. It's definitely adventurous, but we found ourselves craving bikini Azul afterward. If you have a hard time getting a reservation, don't feel bad. You aren't missing much.

The people and the environment of this restaurant tried to give a luxurious impression, and to be fair, they managed that part well. However, the food itself was extremely disappointing. The taste was awful, and nothing we ordered was enjoyable. I really did not expect, with the high prices they charge, to be served such terrible food. The flavors were truly awful and completely ruined the experience. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.

We came to María Dolores to celebrate our anniversary, expecting a special evening as part of our Atelier Inspera all-inclusive package. The atmosphere and food were excellent, but unfortunately our experience was overshadowed by a disappointing issue with our waiter, Ralvares. During dinner, he presented us with what he described as a special dish from the chef for our anniversary. At no point were we told this was outside of the all-inclusive plan or that it would come with an extra charge. We only discovered the charge later at hotel checkout, which felt misleading and left us with a sour ending to what should have been a joyful evening. For a restaurant of this caliber, transparency and honesty should be the minimum standard. We left feeling deceived, and sadly, it tarnished what otherwise could have been a memorable anniversary dinner.

I was stung by a scorpion on the finger while simply sitting at my dinner table at Maria Dolores. The pain was immediate, intense, and lasted for hours—burning, tingling, and numbness radiating down my entire finger. I informed the staff, and the manager eventually came over just to tell me they “didn’t find any scorpions.” That was it. No sense of urgency, no accountability. But here's the worst part: they didn’t even warn the other diners. No announcement. No effort to ensure guest safety. Not long after, another table screamed and jumped up after seeing a 7–8 inch scorpion crawl into a crevice between the booths. We weren’t dealing with a fluke — this was a full-on infestation. For a high-end restaurant, the complete lack of safety protocol and transparency was shocking. No pest control response, no evacuation, not even basic concern for guest well-being. The restaurant continued service as if nothing had happened—and they didnt even offer to comp our meal. On top of that, the octopus tostada was straight up bad and ceviche were nothing to write home about. The jumbo shrimps were the only thing making this restaurant ok. If you value your health, safety, or peace of mind while dining, stay far away from this place. A luxury meal is not worth a venomous sting.
