Good family diner. Many Greek dishes. Fish frys are great. The staff works hard to keep everyone happy. Hugh dessert selection.
Well! Hoot n holler, chew n swaller! For a Down Home, Southern, Dixiefied, Chicken Fried, Corn Fed, Confederate Bled Florida Boy in the North, I have to say, Yeehawww! It was delicious and tasty! I had Pizza Rolls for the Appetizer; Beef n Mac Soup, Fried Haddock, and Mashed Taters with Brown Gravy for the entré; Raspberry Pie with Vaniller Icecream for dessert; and Mountain Dew to drink! The only thing missin was the Sweet Tea! I recommend this restaurant! It's a nice place in the very small, quaint, little country town of Sodus in Northern New York, nestled in the woods! Y'all take care now, ya hear!
Is now my new favorite breakfast place and paid 75 dollars for 5 people, and portions are huge
Did not have to wait for a seat. Food still good and plentiful. Wait staff friendly and efficient. Love Moma's lobster bisque soap!!!
Outstanding SERVICE! Large portion for breakfast, a great little secret, it was WORTH the drive to get there. I would highly recommend this place!
Went there for a fish fry on Friday and it was delicious. If you're out there stop by and have a great meal..
Nick's always serves plenty of food at a good price. Excellent soups, sandwiches, great coffee served with a smile by the nicest servers around.
Great small town diner. Good food, incredible wait staff. Connoisseur of diners and Nick's is the best in that neck of the woods
We had the battered fish fry with fries and a salad. Tasty batter on the fish, and neither the fish nor fries were greasy! So pleased with this meal! Excellent waitress and George the cook received our personal compliments.
A perfect place for Sunday breakfast. Service was super-fast, very welcoming, and the food was plentiful and delicious. We're so glad we found this place while passing through the area.
It was our first time, we went for breakfast, it was delicious! They had food options I'd yet to see anywhere. Very impressed. Staff was nice, and working there butts off the whole time we were there.
Its a great place to meet a friend and chat. The coffee and food were good, what you expect from a diner. The waitress was always there when my coffee cup was empty. Price very reasonable.
The food was fantastic and the service was amazing!! Great place to go for a fabulous meal.....fresh and made to order!! Highly recommend!!
Stopped in for lunch because it was halfway between me and my friends place. Had a great burger. The seafood was also good. Staff were great. Plenty of seats.
The food was wonderful. The service could not have been better. The fritatta and the county club omelette were delicious with enough left to take home.
They always make you feel comfortable... Food is always good... Especially the blueberry marzipan cake when they have it make sure you try it... just a casual dining experience one that you won't be sorry that you tried...
I just ate like a big ol' pig and I couldn't be happier LOL place was great food was great portions are so great in fact, my sidekick couldn't even finish.... I was more then happy to oblige of course LOL oh yeah the waitresses are wonderful and funny Nick's is all around great and I can't wait to mosey on back.
My favorite lunch is now the "Trash plate.". Nice, pleasant atmosphere with great staff. They'll make you feel welcome with genuine smile!
We are here often and love the food. We have tried several different dishes and have not been dissappointed. You get a good portion for the price.
Love this place. Clean, good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Food is worth the wait, if there was one.👍
Great food, reasonable prices and most of all Very friendly waitstaff!! Will definitely go back again even if it is 1 1/2 hour drive, well worth it!!
I wish I could 10 Star plus this place sooooo yummy yummy yummy 😋🤤😋🤤 love my breakfast bowl 🥣🥣 grilled biscuits are my favorite 😋😋 highly recommend Nick's
I'm not a Diner type of person. But this place is WONDERFUL. I've gone every weekend since the boat season started. The staff is super friendly, don't be surprised if you see the owner chatting with customers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE Pancakes(MINE ARE WITH FRESH BLUEBERRIES.
So very nice family orientated diner. I go there with my children all the time. They have really good food. All the waitress are very fast and friendly You do have to tip in cash so if you pay with card. Just bring cash for tip
Great restaurant we went to several times while visiting the area. Gina was an amazing waitress, food always hot and nice atmosphere. Good portions and delicious!!!
Nick's is one of those home town diners where everyone appears to now everyone, but they made this stranger feel right at home. They have a good size menu. Everyone should be able to find the meal they are looking for. Update - I have been back a few times. It doesn't take long to feel like a local there.
Cute little diner I like to frequent when I am in the area. Amazing service. The waitress took my order, and at the end of it, I asked for just a English muffin to tide me over til breakfast got there. She immediately went and put one in before coming back to take my boyfriend's order. Terrific food in portions that fill you up. Breakfast sandwich was perfect, homefries n onions were good, although the onions weren't as cooked long as I usually prefer. But that's a personal preference, and not a big deal, even to me. The waitress again made sure everything was good and checked up on us at comfortable intervals. Definitely recommend.
I was on my way to the eclipse at Chimney Bluffs and drove it. I got down the road and turned around and went back. I am glad I did. I got the sirloin stake breakfast. Everything was perfect ! It looked like a place where the locals go. The place wad packed and they told you how long the wait would be 20- 25 minutes. I plan on bringing a friend back when she she gets time off. She has never been to Chimney Bluffs.
Was in the area for the weekend and stopped for breakfast here on the way out. Very nice quaint place to eat. Food was very delicious and reasonably priced. We were a party of 5 and nobody had any complaints. Staff was friendly. I would definitely come back if in the area.
Nicks has so many choices for breakfast and lunch. But you can get a dinner at lunchtime. Everything is delicious. I haven't had a meal I hated. Prices are reasonable as well. Very friendly waitresses. It's always enjoyable to eat there.
Lovely friendly staff. Small country feel. We are an interracial couple which may seem insignificant until you're in the country and going into a place where everyone knows each other . The staff was wonderful, kind and friendly. Delicious and comforting food. Will definitely stop in again.
Our family has been going to Nick's for at least 20 years!!! Unfortunately the original owner and cook has passed away....though you can tell he is no longer back there makin hash not much else has changed! Still amazing service and exceptional food at an surprisingly affordable price!!!! We love Nick's and we hope to have breakfast there for another 20!!!!
Food is always delicious! Highly recommend their breakfast menu!
We had a very good meal here on Friday evening. We had to wait for half an hour when we arrived due to social distancing guidelines, and a full house. The Fish Fry was very good, Liver and Onions was delicious, New England Clam Chowder also very good.
Delicious! Went there for lunch and they were still serving breakfast. Food was amazing and service was very quick. We will have to stop again and try the HUGE lunch menu
Very busy-- closes at 2 on Weekend Plenty of parking - great Cole slaw. Ran out of special - chicken/ biscuits. But to be expected if: 1. It is good 2. They don't need alot of "food to carry over" for another day Waitresses efficient - & pleasant
Great food. Great service. Very very expensive.
Excellent diner! We were on our way to the Rochester Airport and stopped to have breakfast before catching our flight. Everything about this place was wonderful. Delicious food, kind and attentive staff, and friendly customers. This is a place where the community gathers to eat together and socialize. Nick's is lovely restaurant and we'll be back for sure!
Pleasantly surprised... thought we'd have to wait judging by the parking lot being packed. We were seated immediately by a friendly host. Waitress was efficient and we were served quickly. Our breakfast was very good and plentiful. Considering the cost of everything now, bill was reasonable.
Solid diner and very nice people
Great ma and pop restaurant. Great service, most of the wait staff have been there long enough to recognize and appreciate regulars and new folks and always treat you with respect. Great prices and huge portions.
Excellent diner food at a fair price. The veteran service staff keeps the coffee flowing. The hash browns are good but the home fries are better.
Great place! We've only had breakfast here a couple of times but will definitely be going back again.
Great little diner with good food and reasonable prices. Glad we went while in town!
Great food at a good price. Excellent service. Waitresses were very friendly and so nice to my tow children.
5 stars all around. The food was excellent. We were immediately greeted and sat. Our server was amazing, tentative and friendly. The prices were super affordable. I would go here weekly if I lived local. Will definitely be back if I’m passing through. Thank you!!
Clean, some of the best service I’ve had in a restaurant, and amazing Greek omelette!
A great diner with friendly staff and great food. Try the canoli waffles!
What a great little diner!! I had French toast and eggs with bacon. Superb! Eggs cooked perfectly and the best bacon! The French toast is so delicious!! The service is also excellent. Great place to stop for a great meal!
Nick's is a great restaurant for any meal. We've been going for many years and love the owners and staff. It's our "go to" place for something light or a complete dinner. Thank you, Nick's, for always making iyr time there enjoyable with your family atmosphere!!!
Great food and excellent service in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
We had an excellent breakfast here-Apple French Toast was fantastic. There were lots of cars but it still was not too crowded inside. Service was timely.
A Greek-American menu. Nick’s is open for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is served all day. Everything was delicious. The waitresses were attentive and friendly. Can charge your meal but need to leave the tip in cash. There is an ATM in the restaurant.
I would give them 10 stars if I could. If you are a fan of the old school traditional diner experience then this is the spot for you. Great breakfast food with attentive quick service. The milkshake was awesome too. Gina was our server and she was so pleasant and attentive as well. From someone who operates restaurants this is a top notch establishment.
Wonderful family atmosphere with well prepared food at reasonable prices. If you find yourself at Nick's, you can never go wrong ordering one of their homemade delicious soups.
Had breakfast here 2x this past weekend. Food was great, waitstaff very friendly, space is nice. You can tell that this is a local hangout, everyone seemed to know each other. Lost electricity the 2nd visit, but they didn't miss a beat. Luckily, we'd already ordered and gotten our food. They were very apologetic when turning others away as they had no idea when they'd get power again. I'd love to go back and see what they offer for lunch.
Really great family restaurant and diner. Great customer service and wait staff. We had the Steak Bomber and Prime Rib Sandwich. Both were excellent, the onion rings were crispy and the soups were delicious. The chicken noodle was surprisingly not over salty. 2nd time coming here, 5 years apart, and both visits were excellent.
My go to place for comfort food ! Prices have gone up and have had some errors with orders lately but that won’t stop me from going back
Good all around
We went for dinner , they only do dinner on Friday nights. The food was good, service not so good. The prices were reasonable.
Our meal was very good. We were served in a timely manner. Prices were average. The Waitress was friendly and came back frequently to make sure everything was good and if we needed anything.
Very good food, friendly service, checked on us frequently, made sure we were satisfied. The food was very good, cooked to perfection. Coming back.
Great breakfast spot Super food and friendly service
Nice hidden gem sort of a place. The portions were extremely generous and everything really tasted great. Service was fast and responsive. Definitely will visit again.
Mediterranean Chicken Salad was enough for THREE people!! Every bite was delicious, filled with grilled chicken, Greek olives, roasted red peppers, onions, feta cheese & artichokes!! House dressing on the side, this bowl of salad should have been served with a take-home box automatically!! Plus, you always get service with a smile at Nick's!!
We visited Nick's on our way to an event at the High School. The atmosphere and decor was very welcoming. Our server was quick to come ask us for drinks, although i must say that i was disappointed to find out we would be required to pay for refills. Our appetizers were excellent, and i would recommend the Lobster Bisque to anyone. My wife truly enjoyed the fried scallops. I ordered the Broiled seafood platter. The fish were very tasty, although I thought that with three different fish on the platter there should have been a little difference in preparation. Garlic was prevalent throughout the dish. The Desserts were off the hook. Overall, a great place to enjoy a meal!!
The food and service rate 4 in the diner category, they were both very good. Our group found the facility to be quite clean considering the volume of people passing through on a Sunday morning. One star removed for inadequately cleaned/maintained men's room.
We all had eggs. I had raisin toast and bacon. He had sausage biscuits and gravy. All were delicious and served quick. Definitely a hidden gem for the area.
Great lil hometown restaurant, fish Fry's are off the charts and desserts are pricey but worth every penny! Gave them only four stars tho because they forgot the onions in my homefries today! Lol! But they really are a great place to dine with pleasant staff
This place is a bit off the beaten path. We found it by searching for breakfast places along the 104. Super friendly staff and good coffee. The home fries with onions are pretty good and the buttermilk pancakes are perfectly fluffy and tasty. I don't know if they still off them but the biscuits are super yummy and the begium waffles are great, too. I was drooling over the dessert case. I'll have to go back just for that
Since moving back from Chicago to Sodus New York this has been my weekend breakfast location But now I believe it's time for me to move on Those are food is pretty good for the price John service is slightly impersonal Otherwise it's a good place to visit
Some Staff pick and choose who they wait on properly or not. Waited for water and waitress passed several times waiting on others. She was not professional at all. Slow service in our section. Not happy.
Good food and great service but extremely expensive compared to other restaurants in the area.
Have been going to Nicks for years. Waitresses are amazing. Have to say my last visit wasn’t the best. Only ordered a BLT and had 1 slice of bacon on each half. Only thing I could taste was lettuce. Very disappointed. 😞
It's small town food. The foods hit or miss. The pancakes are good size and taste yummy. The prices are ok but could be better. They can accommodate large groups.
We came in about 10 minutes to 11:00 and asked to have breakfast and the waitress told us that the grill was closed for breakfast. 🤔 So we settle for mediocre lunch at best.
Did not enjoy our visit today. The hot chocolate was 3 dollars, small, and with no refills. Hashbrowns were undercooked. I did enjoy my pancakes but my partners chocolate chip pancakes were mostly chocolate soup. Our waitress Kimberly was rude. When my partner swapped her plates to eat the other items, the waitress took her plate with half a pancake left, without asking. She was not finished. Not sure if it's hit or miss here but it missed with us today. I will end on a good note and say again I did enjoy my pancakes and my partner enjoyed her croissant and meats.
An okay, not overly friendly place. A lot of staring although there was an attempt to be surreptitious. The food was okay. I should have specified I wanted the cheese folded inside my omelet. This presentation made it look like fake cheese from a kid's toy kitchen. Toast had butter that didn't melt making me think it was pretty cold to begin with. My omelet had a good portion of mushrooms and bacon. I had potatoes with grilled onions which was pretty good, although a certain amount was overcooked to the point of being burned. Be warned, they only have Sweet N Low as an artificial sweetener. If you need the yellow or blue stuff, better bring your own! And they don't put tips on your credit or debit card, so have some cash available if you plan to tip your server. My server was kind and attentive and didn't forget a thing.
Expensive for the quality, $3 for a glass of milk is just insane when a gallon is less in store. I get they need to make money but that seems very excessive imo. Food was OK, service was good but not worth the price.
Classic dinner, service was excellent very attentive. The food was good for the price, great for a hangover cure breakfast and a good cup of joe. My partner recommends the canoli waffle for anyone with a big sweet tooth.
Small quante place, food was so so, server was nice. I was displeased with the cleanliness of the restroom and they upcharge for everything. Side of mayo with my chickn sandwich cost extra. Sandwiches come with chips but if you want fries it's almost $3 upcharge.
I tried to be nice. They made me the wrong food, a more expensive plate. I told them i would eat it. They did not bill me for what i ordered, they billed me for their mistake. I felt shoud have paid for what i ordered not for their mistake.
Worst hash browns and or homefries I've ever "almost" ate. After I told the how terrible they home fries were they replaced it with hashbrowns. They were worse. I felt disrespected that they actually try to pass this off as food. Absolutely terrible. When I told them how bad both were they said they had the best potatoes in town. Well in a town of 50 people I believe it. They are the only ones in town. Never again!
I ordered a take out: meal bomber sandwich and shrimp in a basket and beverage for my husband and myself when I got home it was 5 piece butterfly shrimp, I called and was told by waitress she didn't hear me say shrimp in a basket and I was told I could bring it back. I told her I lived in lyons and all she said was she was sorry. We have been customers since the early nineties and I will tell you I will not be back, whatever happened to customer service?
Terrible place to eat! The staff is extremely rude and uncaring! The prices are exspensive for simple meals or sides. Horrificly unprofessional behavior of the staff. Almost all the staff was talking about previous customers to staff while in the presence of current customers in a very loud volume! Unpleasant and disgusting is the atmosphere of this restaurant! The food was not fresh, and tasted quite stale! Would never recomend this place to anyone!
Overpriced, charged 3.50 for refills, the mashed potatoes were instant, asked for butter noodles and it was margarine(when they have butter), the home fries were half raw. And you can't tip on cards. The waitresses were super moody. Would not recommend this place!
Overpriced. 3.49 for a cup filled to the brim with ice with a bit of Pepsi, no free refills, they charge another 3.49 for second cup of ice, Salad with dinner was cheap old wilted lettuce with one small tomato. Nothing special about the food but priced like this is a fancy Michelin star restaurant. Rated no stars. How do people afford to eat here?
The male owner and cook of this establishment repeatedly put his hands on the 15 year old dish girl, right in front of everyone. Absolutely abhorrent behavior from the family, and a very dirty dining area. The owners are stuck in their own ways and think they're better than their customers and staff that they rely on. I will never, ever recommend anybody spending their hard earned money at this place. The waitresses that aren't related to the owning family work very hard, and do phenomenal with what they're given.
Find another place to eat!! We went there for a Sunday breakfast. Bathrooms are dirty and disgusting, need I even say anymore? We had to wait for a table, and the waitress told us to wait in the foyer or outside and she'll come and get us. Others that arrived after us waited inside the door like where we were going to wait. The waitress didn't introduce herself. Veggie omelet and home fries had absolutely little to no taste. No flavored creamers for coffee. I always order coffee in a to-go cup ever since I had a white ceramic mug with a lipstick ring on the outside at another restaurant many years ago. I did the same here, and the waitress said that she has to charge me for a refill in a small to-go coffee cup. I told her that I would finish all of the coffee here and won't take it out of the restaurant. I started to tell her the lipstick story, and she didn't want to hear it and only said do you want a refill. I said forget about it! This is the only restaurant in around 15 years that wanted to charge me another $2.49 for the refill. There are many other restaurants in the area that deserve your business, do yourself a favor and find them!!
I may never eat here again, and will likely advise other the same. On April 13, 2024, I, along with my dad and Aunt, arrived ar Nick's at about 9:30am for breakfast. When we entered we were greeted by a hostess who said we could not be seated at this time while the kitchen catches up. She then stated we need to wait outside and she would come and get us in about 5-10 minutes, I looked around and saw that easily half the tables had been bussed and were clean. I acknowledged and understood the kitchen issue, and asked if we could at least wait at an empty table and that we were willing to wait, in consideration of the kitchen needing to catch up. The hostess then went into the kitchen and asked if she could seat us and that we were willing to wait. She returned and said that the owner said no, we need to wait outside (and it was raining). I have been to places where you have to wait to be seated due to tables needing to be bussed, but never asked to leave, when plenty of tables were clean and ready. Not only did this restaurant lose a regular customer, but their table servers lose tips and more potential tips due to a poor customer service/lack of hospitality review.
