Loved it! Couldn’t find our old favorite taco stop and then found a new one, Rudy’s! The Al Pastor, 3 for $5 is legit!!! Great flavor on the meat. Fish tacos are excellent as was the fish burrito, fried or grilled. Great selection of fresh salsas, nothing real spicy but great taste and big variety to choose from. Nice drink selection, excellent/friendly staff. Also picked up some mole and chips to take home, they also have good tortillas you can pick up for home cooking. Everything tasted fresh, pigged out but did not feel bloated or gross after. Looking forward to our next visit.

I was craving a California burrito and decided to stop in at Rudy's based on their good reviews. I ordered the grilled shrimp burrito to-go. Unfortunately it was only OK. In addition to the grilled shrimp, it had chopped cabbage. I prefer shredded cabbage. It also had white rice and shredded cheese. Non of the ingredients had any distinctive flavor. And it was missing the main ingredient: beans. I drowned it in salsa, as I typically do, but that did not improve it much. If I go back, I will order something else.

What a find! Some of the best tacos and burritos you can have! This place has great michaelas, phenomenal homemade tortillas, cool beer selection and great breakfast burritos. They also have a great salsa bar as well. Finally, the outdoor seating adds to how great this place is! I would highly recommend this place.

Years ago, this place was a great, hidden, hole-in-the-wall. Now it’s a nice great, not-so-hidden spot. I’d recommend almost anything on the menu! Service is great, too.

Happy hour fish tacos are an absolute deal well worth stocking up on. Chicken soup delicious and hearty, can't believe we stumbled on such a gem!

We had Rudy's cater a birthday party for us with their taco bar. It was a hit with all of our guests! Everyone was asking us who catered for us. They were very easy to work with throughout the whole planning process and the day of the party. I would definitely use Rudy's again!

The best California and machaca burrito around! The meat is super juicy and great. Salsa is delicious and fresh. Vampiro tacos are also really good! My go to spot when I'm in the area.

Food is ok. Place was drab. Fish taco did not impress. Carne asada fries were good. Street taco was great. Highlight was they got lengua!! Which was tender, flavorful, and juicy! I’d return for that and cabeza. Yum! Kudos for using compostable dishes instead of styrofoam. I added an extra star cox of this. Otherwise I’d give 3 stars overall.

Been coming here a few times over the years. I was blown away the first few times and kept finding myself stopping by. I will say I feel like the food quality has declined over the years, but it is awesome to see the renovations they've done to the place. The best thing Rudy's Taco Shop has is the salsa.

The place is chill. They have great happy hour prices. Casual atmosphere. Their salsas are yummy! They have big screen TVs and an outside patio to sit and enjoy your meal. The place is very clean and so are their bathrooms. The caahier is amazing and she's funny as well. I enjoy this place and dine here frequently!

Your not the only $13 Carne asada burrito in town but so far, you offer the least value of this trending insanity. Very basic and small in comparison to other, over optimisticly priced, carne asada burritos. My first try at every "taco shop" is a carne asada burrito since I feel it quite a good guage of overall quality of the rest of the menu. Basically Ruby's got $13 out of me as I walk away feeling shafted.

Not sure what people see in this place other then convenience. If you are seeking quality this is not your spot, there are plenty near by Mexican food options I would highly suggest over this spot! The salsa bar is gross and skeptical on whether it’s worth dipping from. It’s does not taste fresh! I came for a simple bean and rice burrito and was beyond disappointed! Not only did it also have a funky taste but hardly had any filling! I asked them to add more and not only did I get a rude attitude but was told, that is there serving portion and I would have to pay more next time to have a FULL BEAN AND RICE burrito!!! Are we serious? You have to be joking for a 9$ burrito you can’t even fill it up with BEAND AND RICE? The lack of customer service and cleanliness, inconsistency in the menu $, poor execution, and lack of freshness…you lost my business and I would highly not recommend this location at all! If they can’t get a bean and rice burrito right I wouldn’t even dare to try anything else. We are in San Diego home of some of the BEST MEXICAN food in CA there is no lack of quality options right around the corner.

The worst tortilla soup ever. It was loaded with tortilla strips and a hunk of chicken. Once I removed the tortillas it was probably 3/4 of a cup of broth. Horrible

The Fricks

First off parking is horrible. Very hard to get in and out of the parking lot and parking spots are tight and very few of them. The young girl that helped me at the counter had no personality and was rude. She seemed annoyed to help me and when she went to help other customers while helping me she did not even say "excuse me for one minute" or anything to let me know she was going to help someone else for a moment. As for the food, it was pretty typical, although the carnitas were very salty. Very much doubt I will be back.
