Serving excellently fresh seafood and drinks, with the prettiest waitresses on the West Coast, the spot is a crossroads between fine dining and hearty working person fare I ordered the fish and chips, and my friend ordered the clam chowder with fresh garlic bread, and both were excellent. Great for taking your kids, or a special night out with that special someone for special special special, the interior is warm, woodsy and overlooks Bodega Bay. I recommend this place if you want fresh delicious Seafood the drinks were good too.
Ok, I am bursting at the seams writing this review. I’m so full and so upset that I have absolutely no more room for another bite. I might do it anyways because this Fisherman’s Stew is SO good! It was so warm and comforting and I’ll be completely honest, it was so good I’m heavy in this weird fantasy of wanting to be in an entire hot tub filled with the broth with a body pillow sized baguette. Ok, I’m sorry, I’m making this weird. Excellent food, my husband got the pimiento cheese burger and it was also awesome. The clam chowder was awesome. Our server was awesome. The ginger cake was awesome. If the sun were up I’m sure the view of the wharf is nice too. We’re definitely coming back!
Came by the new location during their opening weekend out in Bodega Bay and really enjoyed the location and food. The captains platter was huge and great for sharing. Also a great Manhattan! I think my coleslaw came undressed though but it's understandable for a new staff.
I recently dined at Rocker Oysterfellers at Lucas Wharf, and it was an outstanding experience! The captain's platter was absolutely amazing—fresh, delicious seafood that truly showcased the local flavors. The ambiance was enhanced by the stunning views of the bay, and I was lucky enough to spot a seal playing nearby, which added a delightful touch to the atmosphere. The combination of fantastic food and picturesque scenery made for a memorable outing. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal with a view!
We had 2 dogs with us and they had a dog friendly deck. Food was outstanding. Clam chowder and fish stew were outstanding. Friendliest staff and great service.
I had the fish and chips. The fish tasted so fresh, the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. We had a window seat and it was perfect. Such a lovely experience!
LOVE the captains plate! It’s enough for two people, although my brother was able to eat the whole dish himself! We also ordered the winter salad? Had cranberry, nuts sooo good! Tasty bourbon drinks, beer and wine We ate outside which was chilly so layer up to eat outside as you have a view of the estuary.
We visited Rocker Osterfeller’s on a wet and windy Friday afternoon and had a really enjoyable experience from start to finish. We arrived without reservations and were seated quickly, clearly hitting that sweet spot between waves of patrons. We were lucky enough to get a window table overlooking the dock below, with beautiful views of the bay—an excellent setting, especially on a moody coastal day. To start, my wife ordered a Mai Tai. It’s not a traditional Mai Tai, but rather their own twist on it. That said, it was still well-balanced and enjoyable. I had a porter, which was solid overall, though it did have a slightly bitter finish on the back of the tongue. For appetizers, we shared the crab and artichoke heart cakes. These were a standout: crunchy on the first bite, then soft and flavorful inside. The remoulade was fine, but the deep-fried capers absolutely stole the show and really elevated the dish. For entrées, my wife ordered the steak frites. The steak came a touch over the requested temperature, but it was still delicious. The fries were good, but the real star of the dish was the wine sauce—it tied everything together beautifully, and she really enjoyed it. I had the New York strip with roasted fingerling potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The steak was solid, and the roasted potatoes were especially hard to put down. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would definitely return. A quick note for planning: this place fills up fast on weekends. They don’t take reservations for small parties (four or fewer), but they do require calling ahead for larger groups. If possible, going in the late afternoon seems like the best strategy. A great spot for good food, solid drinks, and one of the best views in Bodega Bay.
We were a group of six and made lunch reservations on a Saturday. When we arrived we were quickly seated and began the difficult task of choosing what to eat from such an extensive menu. Eveything was fresh, copious and delicious, but I must say the clam chowder is one of the best I’ve had in years. Can’t wait to eat here again!
Had dinner here on a Friday evening — it was busy, but well-managed. We waited just a few minutes to be seated but expected. It's definitely best to make a reservation so the staff knows your group is coming. The food was excellent. We tried the fish stew, fresh oysters, clam chowder (highly recommended by all of us), and the crab sandwich — everything was fabulous. The drinks from the bar were also spot-on. Service was exceptional. Our server, Monte, was wonderful — attentive without being overbearing, and really kept things running smoothly. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Will definitely return!
PAM CHANGED MY LIFE. I would go back again and again for Pam, she made this dinner the experience of a lifetime. If you come, please request Pam as your server, you won’t regret it. Enjoy!
Our meal here was the perfect ending to a great day! The food could’ve been terrible (it was delicious) and it would still have been worth it because Monty at the bar was awesome! She said she would take care of us & she sure did! My husband’s ginger old fashioned (I think) was delicious too! Thanks guys!
We had the house specialty oysters, some kumomoto oysters, deviled eggs and some great drinks. It was so good I forgot to take pictures. :)
We went there last October 2025 for the first time and we really enjoyed it. We were staying at the lodge at bodega Bay and we went there more than once. Great staff great food and great atmosphere.
Excellent quality. Friendly service. Love the free refill for Arnold Palmer. The sturgeon dip was tasty with the fried Cajun spiced infused saltine cracker. Great way to sample dungeness crab, shrimp cocktail and oysters in the seafood platter. Very fresh fried fish and chips. Steak frites cooked to order, flavorful and tender. Clam chowder had excellent temperature heat and flavors. Garlic bread was crispy and grilled to perfection. This is a popular place for a reason.
The clam chowder and fish and chips were delicious!! We also had a few oysters on the half shell. They were fresh and also delicious. Definitely recommend this place and we'll be coming back real soon.
We are here over the weekend. Without a reservation they seated us very quickly. Our server was very on top of things. I can’t help shout out the clam chowder & the clam linguine! Delicious.
We had a wonderful experience at Rocker Oysterfeller’s our first night in Bodega bay! The service was great and fast, the food was absolutely delicious, my fiancé got the fish and chips and I got the smash burger! They both came with the best “chips” we’ve ever had! The view is amazing too, sits right on the bay and we went right at sunset and it was very beautiful. Can’t wait to come again!
My husband and I dined here on a Saturday night, it was a lovely experience! We had a 20 minute wait for our table and spent it at the bar with a glass of wine. For our meal, we had the crab cocktail, the fisherman’s stew, the steak (all delicious, especially the crab which was fresh). For dessert, we got the panna cotta with vanilla ice cream and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for something with a great view of the water!
Enjoyed a great mid day meal on a Tuesday. Not crowded, we opted for outdoor seating & it was nice with the umbrella. Ordered the clam chowder, wedge salad, fish & chips, cajun blackened shrimp pasta - all were tasty & the portions were filling. The staff was friendly & attentive. We also ordered the banana bread which surprisingly was so good (as we are not huge fans)! Thanks Pam for your recommendation! 🫶🏽
Еverything is great in this place, we were greeted right away, we didn't have to look for anyone, we were taken to a cleanly served table. I want to note that the place is very clean, cozy atmosphere, nice staff and very tasty food. We ordered 3 different dishes and they were all very tasty and the portions are also large. The staff is very polite and quickly responded to any requests. despite the fact that the place was crowded, the waiters and cooks processed orders very quickly and efficiently. For this atmosphere and delicious food, I will definitely come back here again
Amazing food and beautiful view. We had the creole fisherman’s stew with a side of Dungeness crab meat, it was the best I’ve had in decades! They also have a great selection of fresh oysters. The craft cocktail (ginger old fashioned) was very well made. Highly recommended. Food, menu, atmosphere, and cocktails were all fantastic!
Excellent dinner, the Chilled Seafood Plate was amazing, especially the smoked sturgeon dip. The Harvest Salad with blackened mushrooms was also delicious. Husband says the long island iced tea was the best he's had in a while. View is gorgeous.
Excellent restaurant with excellent cuisine. Everything was impeccably tasty, very fresh, and beautifully served. And the oysters are amazingly tasty and fresh! Thank you for the atmosphere and service - we will come back again!
Nothing but perfect for local catch and plenty of fresh wild catch including but not limited to seafood, steak, and burger. Family-like souls serving with extraordinary friendliness and care, plus fantastic view from all of the tables. Definitely coming back with a bigger crowd. Thank you for such an awesome experience Sabrina, Asha Kyle, & Megan 🙏😊
I was actually a bit confused by how delicious and amazing this was. I was not expecting it! Especially with so few reviews. …it was REALLY yummy. It had “good ol seafood restaurant” vibes. We got the fish and chips- perfect. The dipper chips are really yummy and perfectly crispy. The New Orleans Bbq shrimp was soooo freaking yummy. The wedge salad didn’t blow my mind but it was solid. Service was great. My only complaint was that the overhead lighting was really bright. It was night time and the tables had candles and table top lights. For the love of restaurants and good lighting, if anyone from the restaurant sees this, please tell your staff to dim the overhead lights. It would have COMPLETELY CHANGED my dining experience for the better. I didn’t ding a star cus that feels lame but I really should have!
Rockers Oysterfellers – A Fantastic Find in Bodega Bay! We finally made it to Rockers Oysterfellers, which took over the old Lucas Wharf spot in Bodega Bay, and we were not disappointed! From start to finish, this place delivered on fresh seafood, great service, and a cozy coastal atmosphere. Great job guys! The highlight of the night? The best Fisherman’s Stew in California! Seriously, it was packed with fresh seafood, rich broth, and perfectly balanced flavors—absolutely a must-try. Our server, Asha, was a delight—super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and even helped us pick out the perfect cocktails. The BBQ oysters were another standout—perfectly grilled, smoky, and topped with just the right amount of sauce. The fresh halibut special was on the menu, and two of us ordered the fresh fish and it did not disappoint. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. If you’re looking for incredible seafood in Bodega Bay, Rockers Oysterfellers is worth your time and enjoyment. We’ll definitely be back!
Lovely little shoreside eatery. Came here with the family, and while a little on the higher end for pricing, it is -entirely- worth it. Fantastic cocktails and the staff was excellent and helpful entertaining and accommodating the youngins. Food was served in short order after placing, and cocktails were on point for presentation and flavor, as well as all the seafood! Highly recommended, this place was a lovely spur of the moment dinner choice!

Beautiful business, views, wonderful staff and vibes— they will match the vibes if you are celebrating something! Made my night out on my bachelorette so much more memorable, glad we chose to get dinner here :) THANK YOU!

I loved our table for two in the corner where we could watch lion seals through the window. The food was very tasty too. I loved the garlic butter oysters, the smashburger and also the seafood stew.

Perfect spot for a beautiful day. My friend and I sat out on the deck and had an amazing experience - excellent service, friendly staff, and standout food. The clam chowder was fantastic, and the fish and chips were honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. Always love coming to Rocker Oysterfeller’s.

I was here with my sister November 10th. We sat at the bar as the restaurant was pretty busy. Food was delicious, sadly the service/bartender was less desirable and not helpful, at all, we seemed more of an inconvenience to him. He had an attitude. Thankfully, the girl was much nicer behind the Bar.
“I really enjoyed my experience at Rocker Oysterfeller’s — the food was great and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing meal. The only thing that took away from the experience was the slow service at the bar. I’m not sure if the bartender was overwhelmed or just prioritized other orders, but my order seemed to be delayed quite a bit. Other than that, everything was spot on!”
We were hoping to get takeout since it was our baby’s naptime, but the restaurant wasn’t able to do so at that time so we took a risk and dined in. We got seated right away and they had a high chair to accommodate her (but it was very dirty, so I had to clean it down before using). I rated this place highly because the food was delicious even though the cleanliness wasn’t. We had the elote oysters, Cajun pasta with crab, and fish & chips. The elote oysters were my favorite and a MUST TRY. The pasta was also very good in flavor and a very generous portion so I could share with my husband. His fish and chips were also very good and enjoyed how the chips were a combo of potato chips and fries which made it unique. Recommend checking out their food and they have a view if you sit by the windows. The meal was easily over $100 for two people.
We rolled in here at 8:00pm on a Sunday evening after driving for 7.5 hours, and enjoyed a great meal with awesome cocktails. Our server was funny, charming, and provided excellent food and beverage recommendations. Thanks to our star server and great meal, our experience was a positive one. However, there is something I feel I need to address here. A large group of late-teens/early 20-somethings came in just a moment after us. The hostess made a big deal about how they were near closing (it was not even 8:15, restaurant advertises close at 9:00), and how they couldn't possibly accommodate nine of them. We could all clearly see a table of eight set and empty... and the restaurant was half-full at best. For some bizarre reason, the hostess eventually agreed to let them sit outside on the patio (in the cold, dewey evening), and then had to bring all of the settings out to the patio, which took far longer then just bringing a chair and place setting to the empty table of eight. I guess they were hoping to scare them off? As it happens in restaurants, one server muttered to the next hostess, until a giant chorus of groans erupted from the kitchen at the announcement of a 9-top rolling in (at 8:15pm). It's very simple here folks: if you don't want to serve customers until 9:00pm, don't advertise your hours until 9pm. There was no good reason why the staff there should have made such a ridiculous fuss to simply continue to do their jobs. It was embarrassing to watch and I felt bad for that large group of young people. It also showed a lack of spacial awareness and maturity as the entire thing could be heard and witnessed by myself, my dining partner, and pretty much any other observant patrons.
I come here often. Friendly. The food is solid. I miss the burger they used to make at the VF location. It was literally the best hamburger I had ever had in the Bay Area, including Luka, which was stupendous back in the day. Not a fan of smash burgers. They are by nature always overcooked for me and RO's is no exception. It is good, if you like medium well meat. The rib eye is killer though!
Atmosphere, view and service were all a plus. Mixed results on the food. Grilled oysters were very good. Fish batter on the fish and chips dish was soggy and fell off the fish which was very disappointing. Fries were better than the fish which should never happen.
Pretty dang good food. It's still a barn of a place. We were there in the evening when it was cold outside and we were chilly inside. Nice service, reasonable prices. A good choice.
We stopped in on a Tuesday for lunch. We were seated promptly. Server was very nice, took our drinks order and then our food order. Wifey had steak fries, I had the fisherman's stew and a cup of clam chowder start Chowder came out, it was good, crispy bacon on top, plenty of clams, good flavor. It came with a piece of delicious bread with garlic butter. Yum! Entrees came out shortly after, my wife's steak looked good, the sauce on it was great. She said it was cooked correctly and really enjoyed it My Fisherman's stew was the bomb, tons of seafood and the Creole broth was spicy and very flavorful, plus two more pieces of garlic bread. I thoroughly enjoyed it We definitely enjoyed ourselves and will be back I would give 4.5 stars if I could
My favorite in Bodega Bay. Calamari has a nice hint of something special in it~ Large wall of windows for a great view of the Bay. I've had several items there and not disappointed with any.

Outstanding fish and chips. The cole slaw had a funny under taste to it, couldn't finish it. We had bread pudding for dessert (my favorite) however they put a pecan, sauce over it which was way to sweet , unfortunately I couldn't eat it. The atmosphere and service was good.
I came to this place this pass weekend, I was very disappointed with the service. They came took the order we also order a Appetizer, 35 minutes they brought the appetizer. They never came to the table to check to see we need to order more or we like the food. My son order pasta no flavor, my wife order a hamburger they never ask how she wanted cooked. The only good thing fish n chip's..
Original Lucas Wharf Restaurant is sorely missed. New owners' Creole Fisherman's Stew is a poor replacement for the original Lucas Wharf's amazing Cioppino, daddy's favorite. Restaurant setting will always be spectacular sitting right over the ocean with full glass window panes to view the ocean and sunset as well as seals popping their heads out to stare at you playfully, always delightful. But the missing Cioppino....
It’s getting better, however they really never care about the customers temp and often too cold to even take your jacket off. An eatery should actually take the time to adjust the thermostat to their customer, not wait staff. It’s cold and exacerbated by fast fans, and the food gets cold fast and the entire place is wearing jackets it’s quite bad taste to keep it like that. They’ve got a lot of room for improvement, besides the chronically too cold environment, the deep fried saltine crackers are lame and absolutely too far from a culinary delight, the wait staff needs to check in after food is delivered, and they’ve never gotten a second round out of me because they have never checked in well enough to even ask or get me one. The fish and chips are lackluster in portion and quality compared to next door tbh.
I must give it to them, they did have the place packed out. Maybe it's just my palette, but the food was lacking flavor. I got the blackened pasta with chicken and some lukewarm clam chowder. I don't need to go on, this is just my experience. Go check them out!

It took about 45 minutes for our food to arrive on top of the wait for the table — we ate nearly two hours from when we first got there — and the dishes while tasting fine came barely warm. The server had opportunities to check in or help make things right, but instead was dismissive and quite rude when I inquired about our food, which made the situation even more disappointing. With a bit more care and communication, this could have been a very different experience.
Hello, my family and i went there today. The atmosphere near the ocean was great. However, the service felt rushed, when it was time to order. My dad and i, ended up ordering burgers with fries. They were way to salty, and overpriced for what they were. I hope this helps, to give people a better knowledge of the hospitality and food.
We went here with a group. 2 of our party were vegetarian. There menu specifically says they have vegetarian options/substitutions. While they did have them our group was ufortunately within earshot of the kitchen who seemed to be making some not so kind remarks about the vegetarian substitutions. While I understand that vegetarians are not the main focus this place was picked because it said they could make modifications to accommodate them. 2 itams had to be remade after being order (which was OK, the waitress was kind and accommodating about it) but the vibe/comments coming from the kitchen staff after was uncomfortable and unfortunate for the whole group since we could hear them. Probably won't come back because of those vibes. But waitress was nice, view was good and restarunts itself was clean and had cute beachy vibes.
We booked a prepaid Thanksgiving dinner for four at 4:00 PM, arrived exactly on time, and were told to wait 20–25 minutes because it was “a busy night.” That would have been fine, except we ended up waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes. There was no apology from the manager, no gesture to make up for the delay, and no effort to defuse the situation. This wasn’t just us, many other patrons were stuck waiting as well. To make things worse, there’s a very limited indoor waiting area, hence we waited outside and even though it was freezing in Bodega Bay, they didn’t bother to turn on the outdoor heaters. Once we finally sat 1 hr and 15 minutes later, the food came out quickly, but it was mediocre and overly salty across the board. We just ate and tried to salvage the evening, but the service continued downhill. Because we were seated last, we naturally finished last but the staff made it very clear they wanted us out! While we were still having dessert, they turned all the lights on, started mopping the floors, and began loudly resetting tables for the next day. The message was unmistakable: hurry up and leave. We didn’t even get a moment to sit, digest, or chat. Overall, it was a truly disappointing and uncomfortable holiday experience. I wouldn’t return, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place, especially for a special occasion.
I hesitate to post any bad review but I was encouraged by others to do so after telling them our frustrating dining experience. We had a 4 pm prepaid reservation on Thanksgiving. We were told it would be 20 minutes as they were running a little behind. We waited over 1 hour and our waitress offered no reason just a smile and a sorry. I did ask is there any way we can get a free drink as compensation for waiting so long. The answer was no from the staff. The manager did not come to offered an explanation or apology (After talking to other customers, it seemed all of us at the 4 pm slot were pushed to 5:15/5:30 pm seating and were in the same predicament as us). I did ask our waitress if we should tell her the desserts we wanted up front (it was a prefix menu) and was told they had plenty, no need. When it came time for dessert, they were out of 2 of the dessert choices. (I am giving the service 3 stars for our waitress - our waitress was trying so I’m giving her 3 star; if not for her, I would giver service 1 star) The only way you were seated is if you had prepaid so they knew how many people to expect that day and should have been prepared. Being given a free drink or at least a sincere apology from the manager is not too much to ask for. I am hoping they take steps to make sure this does not happen again to others in the future.
