The food was delicious, if you are craving Seafood and your here in Texas, it's mandatory that you have to come to Kraken for combo fish and prawn chips, the fish was soft completely fully fried and the batter is plain with no spices or whatsoever but you can add that hot tapatio hot sauce and it comes with tater sauce, slice of fresh lemon and coleslaw the fries were way better then any other fries at other seafood bar and grill, as well as the atmosphere is cool, chill and much more like sporty place where you can come and enjoy with friends and family to watch the game or just chill and have some beer, the service was very good our waitress was very helpful during our time there as well as helpful with what we would wanna eat like a special platter or something like that. The only problem we faced was the entrance. The front entrance is closed. For some reason, you have to enter at the door where it's written THE ARENA. They have 2 main entrance doors, one on the main road on top of the little ramp and the next one in the rear, cool place and one of the best seafood restaurants after Seafood in Seattle Washington, no offense haha.

We loved the pretzel! We had to order another one! Service was wonderful! Very casual, open seating, & near the water. The medium size nachos were good but more like large or extra large, big portions! Lots of screen with sports on so if you’re into that that’s plentiful here.

10/10 would recommend people to stop here. The atmosphere is amazing and the food was delicious, I honestly want to stop again every time I visit the island just to be able to try a new plate each time. It was late into the night when me and my family of 8 stopped by to eat dinner but the staff were friendly and attentive. Our food came out fast and it was all very delicious. After eating we decided to play a bit of pool and darts and it was a great experience in all. This place is definitely a hidden treasure at the island.

Great bartender. Wanted to check out lunch specials. Bartender upgraded me to coconut shrimp. Good plan. Not the month old shrimp you get in Chicago, I think I could taste the ocean. Had sweet sour sauce which added to the flavor. See pic of lunch specials. Will be back.

short staffed and very busy the night we went, waited an hour to get our food, very nice server james gave us free dessert in return for the long wait, my son ordered the rib eye steak and a large portion of it was inedible but overall it wasn’t bad.

Ordered a patty melt with Swiss cheese, but when it arrived no cheese. Service was amazing. Wife ordered the steak special. It was a very fatty piece of meat with fat not just on the edges but throughout the steak.

Stopped in to watch the first half of A&M vs TU. Atmosphere was lively and the top floor full of Aggies. The screen is huge and great to watch from the top floor especially while sitting on comfy recliners. Beer was cold and their turkey dinner delicious

Cold beer:) Good Mahi sandwich. Really large televisions Lots of sports options to watch. Everyone was very freindly.

This place takes over a hour ( from the time you order your food till it arrives on your table) to get your food. The place was not packed but might have been shorthanded. It took them 45 min to come to our table to ask for our drinks. The food was not that great and they were not very attentive to their customers. It was our first time and it sucked.

20 Feb we stopped by for dinner. Olympics were on the giant TV. Enjoyed watching some hockey. Server dropped by & we ordered a couple of drinks ordered blackened fish & fried fish meal. Specifically told the server I Need an extra water with my meal. Food arrived looked and tasted good. No water came. Our server never came back. I saw him 30 min later after I flagged down another server to ask for another drink & my water. Drink came still no water. Finished my drink now I can't finish my meal without my extra water. Flagged down another server & asked for water. Never came. Had to go to the bar and ask again! Finally got the water. Finished the meal. No server ever came back. Sat for 10 min ready to pay. Flagged down another server & asked to pay my bill. No one ever came. Back to the bar to pay. Finally paid & left. First time in years I left NO TIP! Terrible service and it wasn't that crowded. It appears the servers have no assigned areas. They just roam around in some disorganized fashion. Plus they were behind the bar too so they just can't keep up.

The environment is good but way under staffed by management. Bartender kept having to go restock himself with people in line waiting! I waited 15min! Staff did what they could but whoever is managing the staff needs to manage themselves.

Service is very slow, even at the bar, and the food is slow to come out. My table was visited by a cockroach and an employee had an off leash dog inside. I imagine there are more health code violations happening. The $8 coconut shrimp Monday special is really good. All lunch specials are $6... And it shows why... Green beans are canned. Burgers are super small...all bread with hardly any meat. The burger patty and the Salisbury steak were both inedible....huge pieces of gristle and bone and way too chewy. The steak mushroom gravy is good and they have a good baked potato. It is the only bar I've seen on the island that has Bud Light Next. (Zero carb beer) It'll be interesting to check out the new space next door when it opens.

Worst service ever. If I could rate this a negative star, I would. We called on Monday to reserve an area to watch the Bills’ game for the playoffs and they said we just needed to be there early, no reservation needed. We arrived an hourly early, sat comfortably, & set up our Bills’ gear. An hour there drinking our beer and a waitress comes over to tell us our table was reserved and needed to move. AN HOUR SITTING THERE! How was our table reserved if they didn’t take reservations on Monday when I called! NEVER AGAIN WILL WE STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE! And the owner is a Bills’ fan, what a way to treat Bills’ fans.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner on Saturday, December 27th. We went upstairs so we could watch the football games. There were 2 other couples at tables and a couple of men at the bar. We had to go to the bar to order our drinks after waiting and watching the waitress/bartender walk by us at least twice. She seemed to be more interested in the two men at the bar than anybody else upstairs. We waited for her to come to our table to take our order for food and again we flagged her down as she was walking by. We continued to wait and after 30 minutes, my husband went up to the bar to find a new bartender, and our order had never been placed. We decided enough is enough and left $10 at the table for our drinks and left. As we were in the parking lot, the bartender came down to tell us we didn’t pay our tab and didn’t even notice that we left cash on the table. In the meantime, one of the men that was at the bar was leaning over the patio saying nasty things to us. I have heard really good things about this place and seen good reviews about them on the South Padre Island concierge Facebook page. Pretty sad that we did not have that great experience or customer service. We will never go to this establishment again, nor would we recommend them to anybody.
