I had an incredible experience yesterday at Padharo Indian restaurant with my friends. The ambiance was captivating and the food was simply out of this world. Every dish was prepared with utmost care, resulting in flavors that were both delectable and mouthwatering. I couldn't get enough of the amazing taste that each bite offered. The menu offers a variety of traditional Indian dishes that were bursting with authentic flavors. Overall, it was a truly unforgettable dining experience.
Amazing find in the heart of Southampton. Absolutely delicious food and fantastic for vegan and gluten free with very clear labelling and knowledgeable staff. Would deffo come back if in the area. Only negative was some things were very spicy and not labelled as such (mushroom rice, and some of the nibbles).
Absolutely fabulous experience from beginning to end. The starters were like taste explosions- so many intricately put together flavours. My favourite was the Dahi Puri but so many to enjoy. Delicious Dosas too. The restaurant feels very authentic and not a bulk standard Indian. Would highly recommend this vegetarian/ vegan Indian restaurant. Will definitely enjoy again. Thank you for the superb service too.
Such a wonderful restaurant I’m not even sure where to start! We had the valentines set menu with everything vegan. Starting with beetroot kebab hearts and the samosa chat. The beetroot hearts were perfectly cooked, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside while the samosa was crispy and the chickpea sauce was refreshing and wonderfully spiced. For our mains we had makhani dal which was rich with a slight sweetness and the chick’n angara which was fantastically smoky and spicy. With this we had the saffron pilav rice and garlic naan that were very tasty and cooked to perfection. For sides we had chana masala and baingan bharta which were also brilliant! I’m running out of adjectives at this point but honestly everything we ate and drank were simply wonderful! We will hopefully be returning very soon! The staff were all lovely and polite and all seemed to be enjoying their evening. Also shout out to Mohsin Naksh for the live singing, we had so much fun dancing along <3 Highly recommend
The Indian food was an explosion of flavors—rich, fresh, and absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was a hit. The service? Warm, attentive, and flawless. But the real verdict came from my 8-year-old son, who took a bite and asked, “Is this Michelin-star food?” Now, that says it all!
A nice Indian restaurant in Southampton. The inside of the restaurant is quite cool with lots of decor around the place. The seats are also decorated plus they are very comfortable. The food came out very quickly with not long to wait. Normal wait time is usually 5-10 minutes or under. The service is great and I would highly recommend coming here if you are a vegetarian or you want to try some Indian cuisine.
I cannot recommend this place enough. We had their 6 course Christmas menu and it was exceptional. Almost every dish we had (except for the ice cream) was vegan and really delicious. As a non-vegan or vegetarian I was very pleasantly surprised, the butter chicken was splendid. It was an incredible experience and I truly recommend it to anyone who loves Indian food, and if you’re vegan, there’s no better place to eat.
We visited Padharo for the first time today and absolutely loved it! The food was incredible. I am vegan and my husband an omni and he said it was the best Indian food he had ever had. The quality of the food and the variety was mind blowing. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the atmosphere was calm and chilled in a beautiful restaurant. We can't wait to return for another meal.
I mean even if you are not a vegetarian you need to come and try. The food here is delicious. Best Indian place in the city, and I've tried most of them by now. I'm so happy that there is a finally restaurant on that corner that works as so many before couldn't. Well done guys 💪 We got masala puri, ragda pattice chaat, maysore masala dosa, chick'n angara and peshwari naan
Went with my wife on our second wedding anniversary to sample the set menu they had for their own 2nd anniversary of being open. I was completely blown away by the quality and variety of their vegan options, the service was very attentive and the restaurant has a lovely decor. I can’t wait to come back!
Everything had so many layers of flavours and textures. We ordered a bunch of dishes and shared them so we could try as much as possible. Sometimes it can be oily when eating out but not at all here. We ate till we were full but didn't have the greasy guilt. Cocktails were a pleasant surprise. Staff were polite and attentive. The only slight downside was the wait on food and drinks (around 20mins each time) but probably because they were actually cooking rather than zapping - and it was worth the wait. Next time we'll order more nibbles to keep us going.
This is known for its authentic Indian cuisine, with a strong focus on vegetarian and vegan dishes. The menu features a variety of curries, dosas, and street-food inspired plates. The food is flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for casual dinners or special occasions. Staff are attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Portion sizes are generous, and prices are reasonable for the quality. Service can be a little slow during busy times, so visiting during quieter hours is recommended. Overall, Padharo is a highly regarded choice for flavorful, plant-based Indian dining.
We visited Padharo for my Parents’ Anniversary, and the whole evening was exceptional. The food was delicious, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with care. The service was equally impressive, with the team going out of their way to make the celebration feel special. One thing we appreciated deeply was how thoughtfully they catered to our Swaminarayan dietary requirements. It’s rare to find a restaurant that understands these needs so well, and their attention to detail made a big difference. Padharo helped make an important day even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, warm hospitality, and genuine care.
The black dal was the standout dish for me – rich, flavourful and cooked to perfection, easily my favourite on the menu. Overall, this place strikes the right balance between elegant ambience and relaxed vibes, and I’d happily recommend it for a special dinner or a fun evening out with friends.
A fabulous tasty yet low price menu with so much choice for everyone - meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. Also many small portion options if you like to eat small and want to have a mix of dishes. Definitely going to becone one of my new favoirites as the food was exceptionally good.
We visited Southampton to see a gig and chose to eat at Popado Pizza (in Padharo Indian restaurant) after looking up local vegan foodplaces on Happy Cow. We made the right choice! There was a large choice of pizzas (both veggie and vegan) as well as some amazing side dishes. I ordered the vegan mozzarella garlic bread which was very garlicky and absolutely delicious. My pizza had chick'n pieces - the vegan cheeze had melted beautifully and the base sauce contained some spices which made a great pizza even better. I thoroughly recommended eating at Popado. Your tastebuds will thank you!
Genuinely one of the best Indian restaurant experiences I've had in some time. A light and open space and a welcoming staff make for an atmosphere that's pleasant without feeling overbearing. The menu is extensive and more than just a range of vegan and veg options. It manages forge its own identity. Don't expect to be served with the usual fare of heavy gravy and heat. Instead, each of the dishes we tried had a considered balance of taste and heat, making for something that should really be the norm, but I'm kind of glad it isn't. Padharo is something special. Take the time to visit.
The ambiance was welcoming and the staff were friendly. This restaurant exceeded my expectations with its flavorful dishes, whether you're a vegetarian or not, this place offers a delightful dining experience that's satisfying and memorable. It would persuade one to keep coming every now and then for the food and ambiance. I would definitely recommend Padharo.
What a treat I had recently when q work colleague treated us to dinner here. Absolutely delicious food. If I wasn't told it was vegetarian I genuinely would have never known with the butter "chicken" ....the staff are great... All of them. Place is clean and pretty.
Our first visit to Padharo went well, lovely decor and welcoming staff. The food was excellent and my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sometimes the staff were a little over attentive and over eager to clear the plates and glasses away. Some of the staff did ask if they could clear the table first. All in all excellent food and lovely restaurant and very nice staff!
"Padharo Restorant 😘 Superb food, super authentic Indian vibes! 😋 The dishes are delicious and the customer service is top-notch 🤩. Highly recommend giving it a try 👍."
It's delicious and the service attitude is great ~ clean and hygienic, and I will come here again to eat!
We went here because my wife & I are vegan, there was lots of vegan options that all sounded wonderful. We had the sharing platter to start which was excellent, and the Fire Cracking Bowl with ‘shrimp’ & Butter Masala veg option. Both were excellent & really tasty . Staff were warm & friendly & restaurant was very nicely set out , nice atmosphere. We highly recommend this place, you won’t regret going !!
I am very satisfied with my visit today. Not only is the service excellent with good recommendations, but the food is wonderful both in taste and in presentation... 😇 Definitely recommending.
Very nice meal, all staff are great in particular Keyur. We had the chanamath, pani puri, chilli paneer, fire cracking bowl with Tofu, dal khichdi and chocolate brownie. All of the food was food and the brownie was a great finisher
Excellent selection of vegetarian and vegan Indian food, lots of dishes I hadn't had before so it was incredibly hard to choose what to eat! I wonder if they do a tasting menu? What was particularly helpful was the QR code you could scan to see pictures of any of the dishes. Friendly efficient service, food was delicious, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Wish I lived nearer so I could become a regular.
The vibe, music and service were great and the food was all incredible. Most of the menu can be made vegan. Well worth the 5/10 min walk from the centre to get away from the mediocre chain restaurants. When the bill came we were shocked at how cheap it was. Will return 100%
We love to eat at Padharo. The food is always delicious. We like all the curries, dosas and street food options. Recently we got hooked on the Indian Pizzas! A great place for vegans but also for anyone who loves food :)
Exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a real gem in Southampton We had a wonderful evening at Padharo. From the moment we arrived, the service was welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. The food was absolutely outstanding — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. Every dish we tried was spot on, with rich, authentic flavours and generous portions. You can really tell this is a kitchen that takes pride in what it serves. The ambience is relaxed yet elegant, making it perfect for both a special occasion and a relaxed night out. Padharo has quickly become one of our favourite Indian restaurants in Southampton and we’ll absolutely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great food and excellent service.
Caution: their Chicken lollipop is vegan. Though it’s mentioned in small font , there is high probability of miss out as there is no other non veg starters on Menu. What stand out for us was pani puri and vada pav. Dosa was average. Gajar ka halwa was outstanding too. Their service was slow and they add 12%+ service charge to the final bill, Offcourse it’s discretionary but keep in mind while ordering.
It is a very nice Indian restaurant in Southampton. We were coming back from Isle of Wight and going back to London when we thought of taking a little detour to this restaurant. Their menu is quite extensive. The food was quite decent. However, it could have been better. The service was good and the waiting staff was friendly. Overall, it was a nice experience.
Nicely decorated place but the seats are very tight. We came as family of 5 and were given a small table. Foods just couldn’t fit on the table. Tables only extended when we asked. Service quite slow. They only hurried to take orders but not afterwards. Drinks were strange. Portions ok. The menu does not have suggestions how to order, what to eat with what. It’s a good restaurant to go with friends but for family less so.
Food is 8/10. ( They should mention clearly on google and their menu that they cater only to vegetarians and vegans. I saw chicken outside the menu , ended up going inside to find out it meant vegan chicken) The ambience is 10/10. Service is 2/10. ( The day i went , there was literally one lady serving the whole restaurant due to which it took forever to take my order , then to receive the food and then had to get up in the end and go to the counter to ask for the bill. In the a service charge was also added which i wasn’t happy about because of the experience i had . They should hire more staff members instead of making one or two people do everything. Ended up spending 2:30 hours over all because of waiting.
Was asked to move after being seated, had to ask for cutlery and drinks, the restaurant was cold and service unfortunately was incredibly slow and felt disorganised. However, the food was tasty and flavoursome when it arrived. Overall an underwhelming experience.
Hi I liked the restaurant environment when I visited once. I have taken food delivery from here many times. Most of the times food is tasty. However, for the last 3-4 times there were various problems, for example, stale bhaji for pau bhaji, too much oil in chhole etc. And they never follow my request for cutleries, although they have them and I received once I called them. I hope they keep carrying on their previous good standard as this is a restaurant I liked very much initially.
The food was good but not much different from any other restaurant. The restaurant is clean and atmosphere is good. However, the service is SO SLOW. We came on a Friday evening and the restaurant was busy but even considering that it was unacceptable. We came at 19.30 and we had to leave at 22.00. I almost asked them to cancel the dessert after waiting for it for 25 min. The dessert was not bad but not worth coming back. There is so many other restaurants on the same price range with better food and service quality I rather spend my money and time. I definitely won’t be coming again.
Food is absolutely amazing, once you get it. Booked a table for 7.30pm and did not get to eat until around 9.30/10pm. When starter were brought out we were given no cutlery. Had to go ask for it - then took another 5-10 minutes for someone to bring them over. Asked for tap water a total of three times. What made the whole thing worse is that the staff would ignore us and did not even apologise or acknowledge how long the food took or the poor service. It’s a real shame as the food was incredible. However, it’s not good enough to get to return.
This was on: 12/12/25 7:30pm - Ignore food rating as did not eat due to the below: - Server was astonishingly rude to myself and my partner when walking in. - Sat down and wasn’t see to for 15 minutes whilst serving others - Couple came in after us, was seen-to by the same man straight away and given cutlery and served drinks - no attention gained, went over to bar ourselves to order just drinks as waiting for far too long for food order, didn’t take my order - tables weren’t cleaned
We went to this restaurent in a group, but we all were so disappointed to be there. No doubt food was super tasty but by the time you get your food on the table, you may lose your apetite. We went there around 6.40pm and we could not get our first course until 8pm. People with me got so frustrated and they almost wanted to go to the kitchen and cook by themselves. We had kids along with us and by the time food arrived my kid slept in my lap without eating properly. Food was delicious and owner and staff was good but I wish they can serve people as quickly as they had been given their order.
I usually don’t like to leave bad reviews but this place deserves one for the following reasons:- - Even if you come in with a booking, they make you wait at least 10-15 mins next to the door without acknowledging you, even though some of the tables are empty. It’s so awkward just standing near the door in a corner - The food is good at times but not at all spicy, even if I tell them to make it more spicy, they don’t. Food has been bland last couple of times - Have to wait sooo long for the bill or to even order the food once you are sitting. - I’m not saying the staff is not nice but they are clearly not experienced in customer service and how to treat guest because even the basics are not covered So, after coming there twice and ordering from them more than 10 times, they have finally lost a loyal customer because of the customer service and the good quality which has went down.
I respectfully disagree with your response. I contacted the restaurant at approximately 7:44pm to ask whether you were open and was informed that you were operating until 10:30pm, with last orders at 10:00pm. Based on that information, I booked a table for 9:00pm. Upon arrival at the booked time, I was not offered a table and was instead told that the restaurant was operating for takeaway only and that we could not dine in. A takeaway option was suggested, but the reservation was not honoured. I stand by my original review, which accurately reflects my experience on the evening. I did not fabricate any details. You are welcome to review your call records, which will confirm the timing of my enquiry. I run a restaurant business myself and would not make such comments lightly or unfairly about another business. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing, particularly as the occasion was personally significant to me.
Been now more than 7 years in the UK and back home belong to Delhi, so totally understand North Indian/Punjabi food and initially got excited coming across to this on our trip to Southampton but it totally utterly disappointed me. There was nothing makhni about the Dal Makhni which should have been the star and it’s just like Black Dal we cook at home and nothing special or Makhni. Potion sizes are small, hardly much rice and hardly any water left for the last pani puri. Dal Talka was average too. If you are looking for good authentic North Indian food or having legit Indian food craving, I would suggest you avoid it since it’s expensive too and not value for your money.
The restaurant was very quiet, so we politely asked to sit in a corner to enjoy our meal. The staff member refused and gave an unreasonable excuse about needing space for four people, even though there was clearly enough room. I felt insulted by the way we were treated. We left without ordering anything and I will never go back.
