This is by far one of the best Salvadorian food I have tasted (and I’ve been to a lot.) We ordered the pupusas, tajadas with chicken, sweet empanadas, Atol de elote and a Horchata. Their food had so much flavor and their portions were alot. Can wait to go back and try the rest of the food they offer. Their customer service is excellent!! Very attentive and made sure we were satisfied with the food. Defenitely recommend you to try if your in the area.
The service was great. Staff was friendly and respectful. Food was delicious. I’m a fan of refried beans and this had my grandmothers flavor. My partner enjoy his food as well. For sure we will be back.
The food is delicious and very authentic. The price is fair and the service is great, I’ve been a couple of times and would highly recommend. It’s great to have authentic Salvadoran food nearby. The pupusas revueltas have plenty of flavor and filling without being greasy. 10/10 I’ve also tried the baleadas with beef and the yuca con chicharron. The yuca is perfectly fried with a good crunch while still being soft on the inside. The chicharron is crispy and juicy, not at all hard with a great flavor. Both are 10/10
The flavors were authentic and reminded me of home. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the beans were rich and smooth, and the fresh cheese and crema tied everything together beautifully. The plantains were sweet and golden, and the handmade tortillas were warm and delicious. It’s a simple dish, but when it’s made right, it hits different — and this one was perfect. Highly recommend if you want a comforting and truly authentic Honduran meal.
I came by here today after seeing a recommendation for this place on a foodie group page. With a 4.9 Google rating, I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed. The server was very helpful and friendly, and the food was fantastic. I had the meat lovers omelette with fried potatoes and aïoli sauce. It was all very yummy! I will definitely be back when I’m in the area!
The food here is absolutely smacking! The people are friendly and kind to all of their customers and the portions sizes are huge. I come in every Friday after I volunteer at my children’s school. I will continue the trend.
Craving pupusas? This new spot came highly recommended by my sister, and wow, it did not disappoint! The menu is packed with delicious options that’ll make your mouth water. 😋 The service was top-notch, and the whole vibe was just right with some tropical tunes playing in the background to set the mood. 🙌 Definitely a new favorite! Faves for today Pupusa de queso con loroco Pupusa revuelta Pupusa de queso Tamal de pollo Baleada de pollo supreme Horchata for the drink win 🙌 All was yummmy And reasonably priced !
Immediately as we walked in, we were greeted with attention and care. The menu had many options but I went with the traditional Pollo con Tajadas, my husband got a Desayuno Guanaco, my sister ordered a Torta, and we couldn’t help ourselves but ordered their Pupusas. Every single plate was delicious! We all loved it! The tajadas were not the usual green plantains rather the platano macho, which to my surprise they were very well done. We are definitely visiting again to try other plates.
My partner & I wanted to try a new place, and I recommended this new restaurant. I heard about it at physical therapy when one of the brothers from there was at the same facility as me. He was wearing a shirt advertising the restaurant, and my physical therapist was asking him about it. It's close to our house, so we decided to go today. The food was phenomenal! It's very unique with flavors I've never tried before. The tea was very fresh & perfectly sweetened. It was a fantastic experience. I tried the pupusas appetizer and the taquitos with queso & guacamole (see pictures). I highly recommend trying this gem! I'm very pleased & very full! ♡
Amazing food and different varieties! Staff is so nice and can’t wait to be back. Ordered all this food and they all tasted so good! My husband is Mexican and he approves! Love it! Can’t wait to be back and try more things!
The food here is absolutely amazing!! I will definitely be making this a regular spot to eat. This small family owned business is better than any well known chain you can try when it comes to any Latin food. I highly recommend the pupusas and Birria dishes. They also have authentic breakfast items available all day! I can’t wait to go back!
Make it easy on yourself and order the pupusa platter to try all four flavors! Yum! Great friendly family owned business! And don't forget to try the papas they are Amazing! We will definitely be back!
The food is phenomenal and the staff is so kind and informative. For breakfast we have had the huevo rancheros, and El Famoso Desayuno Del Tio and the flavors are phenomenal. For lunch, the birria taco beef is cooked to perfection and the consommé is full of flavor. For a traditional Honduran meal the Pollo Con Tajadas is 10/10. The chicken is fried perfectly and so juicy. And of course the papusas are amazing as well! Highly recommend!
I had a great experience at La Casa del Abuelo! The menu offers a fun mix of traditional salvadoren dishes and classic American breakfast favorites—perfect if you’re dining with people who like a little bit of everything. I loved that you could order enchiladas or huevos rancheros while someone else at the table could go for pancakes or a hearty omelet. Everything tasted homemade. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and kind, checking on us regularly without being overbearing. It really made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!
Five stars for La casa del abuelo in Spring, Texas! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed with a warm smile from the attendant who was attentive and helpful about the menu. My wife and I recently visited to welcome this great Salvadorean Latine restaurant to Spring, and we left with a big thumbs up and a happy heart. We started with fried plantains, which were fried to perfection with that ideal sweetness and a subtle, satisfying crunch at the edges—the kind of caramelized edge that makes you say “wow” with every bite. For entrees, I ordered the bistec acaballo (bistec) and my wife ordered the pupusa platter. The bistec plate was beautifully presented and smelled wonderfully inviting. The beef was tender and melted in the mouth, seasoned with a delightful Latin blend of spices. It came with wonderfully caramelized onions and bell peppers, two eggs perched on top cooked just right, and a side of white rice. The rice was fluffy and infused with a savory chicken stock note, and the black beans carried a hint of Salvadoran cheese. The accompanying salad—lettuce, tomato, cucumber with a green lemon avocado dressing—added a fresh balance to the plate. Truly delicious and satisfying with a rich Latin flavor profile. The pupusa platter featured three varieties—cheese, chorizo cheese, and bean pupusas. The corn pancakes were perfectly cooked, with that signature cheese pull and a crisp edge. Each bite offered a delicious explosion of traditional flavors. For dessert, we shared a flan. It was fluffy and lightly sweet with a smooth custard texture. The caramel topping wasn’t as strong as we hoped, but it didn’t take away from an overall excellent meal. In short, La casa del abuelo is a standout for Latin cuisine in Spring. The service, flavor, and authenticity earn a definite five stars. We highly recommend stopping by and trying this place. If you’re looking for great Latin food in the area, give La casa del abuelo a visit. Thank you for reading our review. We’re excited to see La casa del abuelo thrive in Spring, and we’ll be back soon—and soon on Instagram with more reviews.
If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would! 🙌 La Casa del Abuelo offers some of the most authentic and flavorful Salvadoran food I’ve enjoyed in years. I ordered El Desayuno del Abuelo along with a pupusa revuelta, while my husband went for four pupusas revueltas and not a single bite was left behind! Every dish was perfectly seasoned, full of flavor, and never greasy. Special thanks to Edgar, our wonderful server, whose friendliness, attentiveness, and warm hospitality made us feel right at home. He truly elevated our dining experience. We’ll definitely be back, and I’ll be recommending this gem to anyone craving delicious, authentic Salvadoran food served in a welcoming atmosphere.
Had the Pupusas and Carne Asada, I have to say hands down the best cooked steak I have ever had! And make no mistake the sides of rice, beans, and side salad are not to be ignored. The sauce with the pupusas and on the side salad were perfect! And if the staff asks you if you want something spicy with the pupusas say "yes". I cleaned my plate and gave my compliments to the staff. I will be trying the breakfast next. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

✨BEST PUPUSAS IN SPRING, TX✨ We stumbled upon this gem while searching for a place on Google Maps. We’re thrilled to have discovered it! Supporting small family businesses is something we truly value. As soon as we stepped inside, we were warmly greeted and invited to choose our seats. They promptly brought us the menu and our drinks which they have Mexican Cokes and Horchata. Our appetites were already whetted, and we couldn’t resist ordering some Pupusas. To complement our main course, we also decided to add a tamales de pollo. The ambiance of the place was fantastic, and the food presentation was impeccable. The Pupusas were a revelation, crispy on the outside and not greasy at all. The flavor of Revuelta was delightful, not overpowering with salt or other seasonings. One small suggestion would be to ensure that the shared bathroom remains spotless and immaculate. It’s a common area, and cleanliness is always appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend this place. It’s a must visit for anyone looking for a delicious and enjoyable dining experience. #LaCasaDelAbuelo #SpringTx
Very delicious food- Got the pupusa plate, pan con pollo, and pollo frito con tajadas (forgot to take a pic before starting to eat lol) They had delicious papaya shake and my favorite banana soda Very authentic and quality food, incredibly attentive service. Was in the area and very happy I stopped by- I live in Webster. Will be planning another trip up here just to come eat here again! Ordered a lot of food and enough to take home cause I wanted to try a bit of everything lol reasonable prices- if you order a meal and a drink it will probably be around $20

First time visiting the restaurant; everything we ordered was worth it, very good portions and excellent service. We will return again to try other dishes... 100% recommended.
Great place. Really good margaritas! Right now they currently on have one size but will expand. Delicious food! Can’t go wrong with a margarita and a pupusa. Service was amazing! Will be returning for breakfast next! 😃
I’m new to Spring and I’m so happy to have found a place where I can have authentic Salvadoran food! The pupusas, horchata, Jamaica, and Sopa De Res were great! He sources his ingredients from El Salvador. The host/owner is very friendly and he has made an inviting environment - Salvadoran music and all 🙂- Bravo!
Absolutely delicious! We tried the frijol con queso pupusa, birria quesadilla, churrasco plate, and the Early Star combo, and every single dish was amazing! The flavors were rich and authentic, and everything tasted freshly made. The pupusas were perfectly cheesy and crisp on the outside, the birria was flavorful and tender, and the churrasco was cooked just right. You can really tell they put care into their food. Great service and warm atmosphere too! Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!
The service is amazing, all the workers are so friendly. While I was there a family came in with an elderly woman that looked like she needed assistance, and they came from behind the counter to help walk her to her seat. And the only thing better than the service is the food, I’ve only visited twice and it is already my new favorite El Salvadorian spot. Also the dining and cooking areas looked very clean.
