Wok n Fire - St Charles

First time dining here. Food is fantastic!! Service was excellent!! They have a great menu of sushi entree’s. They also have great steak and chicken entree’s as well. Highly recommend the St. Charles roll!! The Tuna TATAKI is phenomenal. The fried banana is an excellent desert.

Great food and the service is much better now then in the past. Definitely come and try Wok n Fire. They have so many different types of food. Definitely try their St. Charles roll. It is the best!

Delicious and great service! They have a wide selection of sushi and other asian dishes. Highly recommend! I enjoy the spider roll and seaweed salad. The inside is very nice too.

Although the restaurant was busy and we had a group of 7, the service was impressive. Initially, it was hard to get seated since we didn't have a reservation but the staff helped us get a table in the bar area. Also, the food was great! I love all the menu options. It was hard to pick one thing but I finally picked the tuna poke with a sake martini which was delicious.

The food is delicious, the drinks are great, and they have daily specials. Fridays are half price stir fry dishes. One of the best Mongolian Beefs I've had.

Service is good,sometimes a little slow but that is all resturants due to the shortage of servers. Food is always delicious and consistent. Portions are plenty and they have good daily specials.

We celebrated my son's 16th birthday on Thursday with a wonderful lunch. We have been to the restaurant several times and it is always a great experience. This experience was our best yet. Our Server Carlos was amazing! He was friendly and his menu recommendations were delicious. He was attentive with drink refills and checked in with us several times throughout lunch. He even brought out a delicious dessert with candle so we could sing. We will be back soon and request Carlos!!

I was not going to go here after my previous experience a year ago (that bad) but decided to order on a whim. Best food we have had at any Wok N Fire location for a long shot. Keep the food consistent like tonight and you will have a repeat customer

I was visiting from Los Angeles but if I was a local, this would definitely be my go-to place! Food is top notch, service was fantastic and for their “ home made” in-house ginger ale is top notch!! Highly recommend, they have good portions and fresh food.

Carlos was a fantastic waiter. Very helpful with ordering and suggestions for food. The crab roll that was not on the menu was great!! Very joyful time to celebrate my dads birthday

First time here and the food was really good. From the Korean beef sliders, sushi and sweet&sour stir fry everything tasted yummy. Gabriel was our server and he deserves a raise! I could tell the restaurant was short staffed and watching that man hustle while keeping his composure is rare these days. He would go from table to table, the bar, helping other staff members, back to the tables an that deserves recognition for the type of work load.

The Mongolian beef was excellent! My girlfriend got the sushi and she thought is was above average because it did not have alot of the right spices. The service was great but I think if you go anywhere just before the Superbowl, you will be taken care of since there was nobody in the restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxing. Overall, great place for Asian food!

Had a birthday dinner tonight with 12 people and everything was excellent. Drinks, appetizers and main courses. Carlos was an excellent server and took really good care of us. We look forward to going back.

Been here a few times for lunch. Food is always well prepared and flavorful and service was excellent.

Wok n Fire was a nice experience with my wife. Is it a restaurant I want to come back to in the near future? Maybe, there was nothing 🤔 that left an impression that I have to come back. The drinks at the bar were pretty good and we'll mixed. The food was good **But please stay away from the coconut Shrimp yuck 🤮 😫 horrible the breading and the mashed up shrimp was disgusting could not eat it. Besides that, the restaurant experience wasn't that bad. But, the amount of money spent at Wok n Fire I would have preferred to spend at Ruth Chris, Bob Chin's, Smokey Bones, Texas Roadhouse Crystal Lake or at a dope Hibachi restaurant.

Happy to say, food has improved since they first re-opened after the move. Enjoyed our spicy tuna crispy rice, a roll and some shared apps today. Have to re-test the take-out soon. Efficient service as well, which I appreciate. Happy hour is a great time to come if you want to step out for a bite.

Great bar to go for appetizers/drinks. Bar has happy hour with good discounts - always good to go early to beat the dinner crowd. Parking can be limited however there are nearby parking garages. Does get a little drafty in the bar, would recommend layering in the winter.

Pho noodle chicken. The juice sauce, "needs spices". It was flat taste. Spice recommendations: Worcester sauce, turmeric, pepper. What can I say. Just regular whatever. Was not exceptional. But ok

I had a good lunch here; I order the inky roll and it was amazing (even our neighbor table had to ask which roll we ordered!). I also got the tofu Szechuan dish, but I kept getting sandy bites.. I was hoping that it was just one cube of tofu, so I continued to eat but I kept getting sandy bites as if the veggies weren’t washed?

Got in after 9 pm, one of the few places that stays open late. The chicken salad bowl and the pho soup were pretty good. Many people come to this establishment for drinks and social because of the lighting and setup.

We had the Mongolian beef and Kung Pao chicken. Both were really good. The tempura shrimp was also great. Service was good too. They also have specials 4 or 5 nights of the week. We'll be returning.

Star ratings. 1 bad. 2 below average. 3 average / neutral. 4 good. 5 excellent. Always good food. However ordered a jalapeno margarita. Didnt realize it was $15! I can get one just as good at el molcajete for half and just as good. Isnt Chicago, still the burbs pushing it especially for the size Update So in reference to my previous review. That's pretty standard where ever you go now. As far the food. Still good consistent food. Have done take out a couple times and equally consistent. Service is hit or miss. Join their text. Excited to do the bluefin tasting night.

This restaurant is clean. The booths are nice and everything is very modern. However I can't help but feel that staff is running around, and not really keeping an eye on customers. They will of course ask you how your food is, but they're not keeping an eye out to see if you need refills, and they're not paying attention to when you're done either, so if you need anything, you need to make sure you can get their attention I will say that the beef here is cooked to perfection, but I would recommend this as a dinner date place where time doesn't matter versus a place you want to grab a nice meal and go from. Ideally staff should keep a closer eye on the guests in order to provide the best service. This is my second time here, likely my last as I feel like the service needs some work.

Place looks freshly renovated. Service was great - drinks refilled without needing to ask which seems rare nowadays. But then again it was not very busy. Ordered spicy Pad Thai. It was good except the chicken was overcooked. I picked most of it out (top of plate in attached photo). The other pieces are tofu not chicken. California roll was very good as were the dumplings. Coconut shrimp and rice were a little over done.

We visited during happy hour and ordered item from the happy hour menu. However, we were charged full price instead of the advertised half-price. When we brought this to our server’s attention, we were informed that the chicken lettuce wraps were part of a “Ladies’ Night” happy hour, which was not mentioned on any of the printed menus at our table. Regardless of where the mistake originated, a restaurant should honor the prices listed on its menu. When we showed the menu to the staff, they should have adjusted the price accordingly. Instead, we were told that the website had not been updated—an internal issue that should not be passed onto customers. This was disappointing and did not reflect good customer service. We hope management addresses this issue to prevent similar experiences for future guests.

We each had different stir fry dishes and although the flavors were okay they just didn't have a freshly prepared taste. Both selections tasted as if they were prepared in advance and heated using a microwave oven as the chicken and steak were chewy. They tasted okay but that was it. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable and the restrooms were clean.

Restaurant wasn't busy but service was slow. The red curry noodles was a very tiny serving with no green beans at all. I've ordered it many times at the Wheaton location and it was much larger, less soupy and had more veggies. It took 20 minutes to get my water refilled. Overall a disappointing experience for our first time at this location

Only hot food was the Pho...I know my camera Is amazing

We ordered an appetizer crab avacado ball. It came with fried wontons. 4. I asked for more, she advised me that it would be an order of wontons i would have to pay for. I said okay, thinking it would be a basket. She brought 3 wontons. The appetizer was delicious. The rest of the food was just okay. No wonder the place was empty.

BEWARE of the mystery "tuna BLEND" in several dishes at Wok and Fire. (See attached pictures) I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll and received something that looked like liver sausage and tasted off. After my friend and I ate a couple pieces we called the waiter over to complain. He said, "It's a blend, that's how we make it here". He explained several other dishes were made using the same blend. We argued the 'blend' was not represented on the menu, said we didn't like it, couldn't eat it... but he refused to take it back or delete it from the bill.The service was shoddy despite a mostly empty restaurant. (No water, soy sauce, or chopped sticks were offered.) Two guests - three appetizers, several rounds of sake, and our bill was $141.00. Go somewhere else.

The restaurant was empty and I had the worst service. I would not suggest sitting at the bar. Table servers were way more attentive, ended up having to ask on of them for a box. Unfortunately, the sushi looked great, but was so loosely wrapped that it fell apart while eating it. I also ordered the chicken lettuce wraps to go and the pieces of lettuce were cut so small it was impossible to wrap anything in them… (didn’t notice the lettuce was so small until the next day when I went to eat them for lunch). There are much better options for sushi in St. Charles. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Haven’t had wok n fire in quite sometime decided to give it a shot. My wife’s fried rice was pretty decent although they did start using dark meat (must be trying to save money). They forgot my kids soup, she’s 3 and that’s all she wanted. Now I have a grumpy toddler. Now for the best part. I just worked 13 hours didn’t feel like cooking so I order. Uber eats is terrible they take forever and my food was gross and almost nonexistent. Smallest portion I have ever seen. Even the rice was terrible. So as I write this I’m am in the middle of cooking my dinner.

I was one of the first custo when this place open i let all my neighbors know about it so we did dines once all of us about 11 people they love it today I ea lunch I order 6 diferente plates so.i request hot sauce the lady told mr.i have to pay for it wow well this is my last time visi and I will let my neighbors know my experience

First I will start with, I eat at this restaurant every week sometimes twice a week and their service is exceptional. Up until today when a situation got real. We ordered our usual and some edamame THROUGH DOOR DASH.... Mind you door dash is senseless in giving people there money back and useless when it comes to the following situation as was wok n fires manager April and owner Diana. On our edamame. Was a worm A WORM. Mind you the person that was eating it is ill and if she gets sick from eating worms it could be life threatening. They lost a valuable client and gained a call to oshas health department and kane county's health department which the owner was clear to let me know they were just out last week, makes me wonder why? April was kind as could be but continued to laugh when this situation was nothin more than serious. The lack of empathy and apology had me distraught. I will not be returning and I'll be sure to share with other to avoid this place as well. UPDATE: myself and my other partner that have eaten said food (before finding worm) are both ill bodied and not well. THIS IS NOT OKAY.

Manager is hard working guy but management has to change a lot of things like there is a nice bar but all the tvs are showing travelers channels instead of sports or something that people can watch. Food can be better. And only one option for draft beer.

Everything about this facility was awful. The food was definitely not fresh. I can always tell when an onion has been refrigerated , so gross. There was no bartender, no manager on duty and no food runners. I saw 2 servers the entire time. Until the manager came out to argue with me. No apology that our appetizer didn't show up. The red lights in the bathroom are awful. It was so dark in there. If I had to guess this location is on its way out

I swear I'm not a Karen but- We had a reservation for a larger group and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. After being seated, we waited about 15 minutes just to order drinks, then another 20 minutes to receive them—and I never even got the drink I ordered, which was just water. To make things more frustrating, we were told we couldn’t order drinks separately at the bar, yet our server was rarely around to actually take drink orders. It then took another 30 minutes to order food. An hour later, the first person’s dish came out. About 15 minutes after that, most of the rest of the food arrived, but the server set everything down on a table and disappeared for 5 minutes while we watched the food get cold. We then waited another 20 minutes for the sushi orders to come out, by which point most people had already finished eating. I was also never given utensils and had to get up and grab chopsticks from the server station myself. My water finally arrived when we were already done eating, paying, and getting ready to leave. To make things worse, there were three items on the bill that we never received and had to ask to be removed. There was automatic gratuity added, which honestly made it feel like the server didn’t care about providing good service since a tip was guaranteed. Most of us work in the restaurant industry, so we understand that things get busy and shit happens. What made this experience bad was the complete lack of communication. A quick explanation or check-in would have gone a long way, but we were left in the dark the entire time. The sushi had a gummy texture, the rest of the food was mid at best, and the service was horrible. Overall, not worth the time or money. We will not be coming back.

terrible experience. they had the wait staff making their own drinks on a crowded Friday night. 2.5 hours and we couldn't wait any longer for dessert, we had to leave. it was excruciating. drinks were empty waitress was nowhere to be found. loud atmosphere.
