Wonderful place. I felt I was eating at a grandma's house. Delicious fresh food and cozy atmosphere. Such nice people. I'll definitely come back.
We came here during Chinese new year and the tea house was closed bc of the festivities. There were a couple of outdoor tents that had food to purchase. Plenty of variety and were delicious. The temple had a few activities and crafts to buy. Very cool place, looking forward the the tea house next time.
This is the tea house inside Chung Mei Buddhist Temple in Houston (Stafford). The gardens are beautiful! Food was good, also.
I smelled food as I toured Fo Guang Shan temple. Then, I looked around and found Water Drop Teahouse. I like the setup and hospitality. Food was really good. I’m not vegetarian but I always wanted to explore options and share the delicious food with my vegetarian friends. Please note, there are differences between vegetarian and vegan. The triangle pocket has lots of cheese. If you’re vegan or lactose intolerant, try something else.
My family and I like the food here. It’s refreshing, not too oily or too fattening feeling. If that makes sense! My son likes the vegetarian minced meat with rice. My husband had the dumplings. He likes their tea too. It’s brewed fresh each time. The place is quiet and outside of the temple, it’s spacious enough to take a small walk around. There are many small statues around their yard. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a vegetarian restaurant.
Beautiful vegetarian tea house and restaurant located within the temple. A good spot to try unique vegetarian dishes or simply be in a quiet place. They have rotating specials as well, and freshly brewed teas. Prices are pretty good considering it’s all for the temple and has dietary restrictions. Definitely want to come back and see what other dishes I can try.
Their food options and tea selections are great, always a great place to stop by for vegetarian food. Their herbal tea actually leaves you in a calming mood—we will definitely be back!
The teahouse restaurant is located at the Buddhist temple. The menu is simple and all vegetarian. The teas are wonderful - The lemon-ginger and lavender selections were excellent. All of the food that we ordered was delicious. The grounds are lovely and we got to tour the temple, too. If you have a larger group it’s best to make a reservation.
Cute place, just not very many food options. Good for afternoon tea style
This is an amazing place off the beaten path. Great vegetarian food in a very peaceful setting. The restaurant is part of the temple compound. It's clean and very pretty. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. I would come again.
Beautiful, peaceful setting. Order the fruit tea and lavendar tea! We also loved the black bean noodles, edamame and potstickers. All vegan, all delicious! Update May 2023: So happy they are open again. We celebrated our wedding anniversary today by going for tea.
A great place to be still and recharge while enjoying some delicious snacks. I heartily recommend the special friend tea, the pocket sandwiches and the purple rice. The staff are all volunteers who are happy to help and answer any questions you may have about Buddhism or the menu.
Wonderful experience. Great food with no onion and garlic. Definitely will be coming back !
very cool place, I liked my food and tea. Was great on the chilly day I went. Staff were attentive and sweet. The decorations are nice and if you come, make sure to explore the temple and surrounding area
They’re open again!!! Most serene spot with delicious tea and vegan Taiwanese food. May is a most special person to talk to as is everyone else who helps run this labor of love.

What a lovely place to eat! So peaceful, the people who work here are SO NICE, and the food is really delicious. It’s all vegetarian but the food is still so savory and satisfying still because they use vegetarian meat that tastes better than any imitation products I’ve ever had. Don’t miss it!
It is pleasantly peaceful here. The food is very good. I was surprised by the vegetarian fish. I was mixed up going through the main entrance making a right instead of a left. The dining area was to the left. I would say the rating is mostly based on how pleasantly peaceful it is here. It's definitely a place for anyone vegetarian/vegan to try 🙏
Very quaint and serene atmosphere. The experience is not just food but the atmosphere as well. Would love to visit again. Kale fried rice was my favorite here.
A nice quiet place inside the Buddhist temple. Nice varieties of fruit tea and vegetarian dishes. If I live around here, I will come and enjoy the food here often.

My family and I don't eat out much, but we went here to try something new. The atmosphere was unbeatable, the view was very nice and peaceful, it was calming to be there. The food was also great, we came here because we are vegetarians, and we wanted to try new cuisines, we ended up loving it! The staff was so polite and kind, and they made our experience even better! Would recommend coming here!

Recommend? Only if you’re vegetarian. I’m vegan. My first two choice items weren’t available, the curry noodles and the rice cakes. I ordered the A set thinking it comes with vegan stew. It only comes with the vegan tendon. The set A also has Parmesan herb king oyster mushroom and seaweed salad. I also got the dumplings and the minced mushroom noodle soup. I would say if you prefer your food on the more savory side then this might be too lightly flavored for you. I did enjoy their lotus tea a lot. You don’t often see lotus tea on menus, even at dim sum places. Overall, it just wasn’t my preference.
