Saltgrass Steak House - Lake Tahoe

Just like home! Consistent quality and experience. We're from Georgetown, Tx. and dine at Saltgrass in Round Rock. I've been a customer for longer than I care to think about. Not because of the restaurant, but it's been forever. Last night in Stateline, NV, it was no different than being at home except we weren't. From the time we got there and were greeted by Lucia to the table where we got outstanding service from Marina. The food the family homey atmosphere and yes, even my favorite Texas Tea and Ribeye were one of the best dining experiences we've had in our 9 years of our vacations here. From the manager on down, this place is a go-to for good food and a great experience. Thank you, for coming to Stateline and the South Lake Tahoe area!!! You are by far the best addition yet!!!

Literally only writing this review because the waiter was amazing (pls give him a raise his name is Luis) the service was really good and he was very attentive. Twin needs to be the manager asap

We went to the steakhouse for our anniversary dinner with our two kiddos and decided to sit on the balcony outside. We had a wonderful experience with our waiter (I wish I could remember the name). My husband and I ordered margaritas and the filet Oscar. It was so delicious I couldn’t stop eating until it was gone! We will be back again when we’re in South Lake Tahoe! Thank you!

Me and my husband had a lovely meal. We had the rattlesnake appetizer, which was a great twist on a boring jalapeno popper. We both got steak, shrimp and caesar salad. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. I got the grilled shrimp and it was fresh and flavorful. The waiter was very attentive and friendly, I wish I could remember his name! We'll definitely be back, next time we're in the area.

I seen some negative reviews about service and experience at this restaurant. My experience was absolutely not a negative one. As a matter a fact my wife and I commented to the food server that it was the best experience we have had with the food server ever and I am 58 years old. We went to this restaurant two times. Lunch and then later for dinner different servers different crowd and was a great experience. The food was exceptional. The steak was tender. Everything was cooked. Perfect everything came out nice and warm. Great experience after not being in Tahoe for over 10 years.

We had the chicken breast dinner which is awesome with a side of brocolli and a salad, we also had a ribeye steak. Everything was great! Service great, ate at bar

This place was BOMB!!! Idk why it has low reviews but this is a top tier streak house. We dined in on July 8th 2025 Our Server Ryan was phenomenal, great personality, great smile and overall just a wonderful person. He served us great. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for Great steak house. The food was amazing. From the perfect steak and OMG the mashed potatoes were amazing especially their sauce. Yum yum yum. We will be back again. Thank you.

Saltgrass Steakhouse at 4330 State Hwy 6 S in College Station is a solid pick for tourists craving a true Texas meal! Their Certified Angus Beef steaks are juicy and cooked just right—my ribeye was perfection. The Shiner Bock beer bread is a must-try, and the brisket queso is a total game-changer. The vibe is cozy with a Western flair, great for families or a chill dinner. Service is super friendly; our server was quick and made us feel right at home. It’s never too loud, so you can actually chat without yelling. Prices are fair for the quality, and portions are generous. Perfect spot after exploring Texas A&M or nearby attractions. Just come hungry and maybe grab their Two-Fork Cheesecake for dessert—it’s awesome! Definitely a College Station gem for a hearty steak dinner.

The steak i ordered was delicious. I would also like to thank my waiter Luka who gave great service and had a very positive attitude.

I wish I would have taken a picture of all of our plates. The steaks were great. The burgers were huge and cooked to desired doneness. Wedge salads were excellent as well. Our waiter went above and beyond.

My steak came out perfect medium ribeye very little fat sides were solid can’t complain definitely recommend the 16oz ribeye

Solo with service at the bar, early evening. The bartenders were fun and attentive. I had the Caesar salad with chicken, it was fantastic. Sounds plain and run of the mill, but, you’d be shocked by how many restaurants destroy a Caesar salad. Looking forward to returning.

Absolutely outstanding dining experience at Saltgrass Steak House. From the moment we walked in, everything was top-tier. The steaks were some of the best we’ve ever had — cooked perfectly and incredibly tender. The pork ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious, full of flavor, and the salmon was cooked to absolute perfection. What truly elevated the experience was our server Luca. He was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, making us feel looked after without ever being intrusive. His service added such a personal and memorable touch to the night. Amazing food, fantastic service, and a great atmosphere — we couldn’t fault a single thing. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Saltgrass to anyone looking for an exceptional meal.

Atmosphere is well ok for its location in a casino what was great is the food and the prices !! We can deal with staff attitude and ignorance to our lifestyle we have come to accept it can be hard to find workers who don’t let their cross hanging from their necklace influence their prejudices. Enough said on that, the staff needs sensitivity training and to turn down the hate. Food is great our NY strip was perfect as was the sirloin. Salads were cold fresh and salad dressing just right. Our cocktails were great perfect manhattans and the best Dry Martini I’ve had in a while. We were surprised by how reasonably priced it was for a steak house. Please go here food is great 5 stars. Went with 3 other guys all members of lbgtq community we all speak English French and Spanish so we overheard off color comments ! Not terrible but unfortunate. Had we involved Mgmt or escalation to ownership we’re sure heads would be replaced - the staff figured we didn’t understand the pg-13 to R rated remarks about lifestyle- in another language than English, we won’t be making any more comments on this just !! unfortunate because the hotel the casino and restaurant was great one of our group stayed at the Nugget and had a great comfy bed got an upgrade and would come back and stay there again. Overall this steakhouse was good and we’d return again.

We have gone back multiple times to get the ribeye. It's a little spendy, but worth it. The staff and service is great! Highly recommend if you're party isn't aligned on where to go for dinner. They have a large menu and everything is good. Paying for parking is a bit of a bummer, but if you throw some money in a slot machine you might win it back. Check this place out if you like steak and dinner want to dress up.

We had a fantastic dinner here, excellent steak and other meats. Tracy was our server and she was very accommodating, engaged in conversation, and served multiple tables at the same time. 5/5 would come back here!

Really don't understand the current reviews. We had a great experience!! Marina, our server, was so nice and very quick. We had great cocktails and salads and baked potatoes. Such a lively atmosphere and great teamwork with employees. Ask for Marina's section!

We have eaten here 3 times. I noticed the place has a 3.7 rating? Why? We love the food here. Tonight was excellent. Our waiter Luis checked in after each course. He was such a good waiter. We will ask for him from now on. But the food here is excellent. I do wish they had brisket or those big beef ribs you get in Texas. But besides that we have never had anything we didn't love. We are picky eaters too. 5 stars for sure. Give Luis a raise, he's the best waiter we have had. The other waiter and waitress we had were good but Luis was a step up above any waiter we have ever had.

I went with my husband the last weekend to celebrate his birthday. I want to thank a girl from Spain, she said “Happy Birthday” to my husband and she made sure the waiter said happy birthday to him with a candle on his delicious steak. I got bbq ribs, honestly was okay, not the best. He enjoyed his steak, he said was the best steak he have ever had. So I’m grateful and happy for that, I recommend this place with live music!

I came here to eat while visiting S Lake Tahoe. I order the country fried chicken it was 9/10. My bf ordered the T-bone steak 9/10. Service at first was slow, they didn’t greet us sooner but after that it was ok. Ordered these drinks 8/10. It was really busy on a Monday night.

Star ratings. 1 bad. 2 below average. 3 average / neutral. 4 good. 5 excellent. Decor consistent with theme. Food was good. Server was amazing and he said it was only his 2nd week there, obviously years of experience. Everyone in our group of 4 had a different type of steak. All were prepared perfect. Would definitely eat here again.

Clean, spacious interior. Very friendly staff. We went on Christmas so I don’t know how it’s like the rest of the time but the food had some misfires. My husband ordered the prime rib special medium rare. It came out well done. I asked for a baked potato with no cheese, it was loaded with cheese (our very sweet server rushed another one out for me that was perfect). My older son ordered the ribeye, it was smothered in some weird seasoning (that is not mentioned on the menu). My younger son had a rack of ribs, they were delicious. My Manhattan was perfect. We decided to skip dessert. Overall pretty uneven dining experience, not sure we would return.

Chose this steak house because it had better pricing than the others in the area, it was decent enough the steak was actually really good. The sides were a bit lacking except for the baked potatoes 🥔 those are never a bad choice. They had a special on Ribeyes that once we saw how thick they were made sense but still had really good flavor over all. The beer was great and the server was hospitable and quick she handled the table of 9 really well. Id make a reservation since we did have to wait almost 2 hours before getting seated but since we were in a casino we found something to do until then.

The bread they serve is a skip its dry and no flavor. Steaks came out well done when asked for medium. Serving size was good. The service was great but the meal didn’t match the service. If eating leather is your thing this steak house for you. Many other places to get steak in walking distance

This place was nice and okay but not amazing. Ordered my steak Medium but it was more like WELL. They have a bar and outdoor sitting and the place is very clean. We went early so no wait but they say for after 6, reservations are recommended. The location is convenient and the decor is attractive and peaceful.

Saltgrass felt like Texas roadhouse in a casino. The waitstaff were very friendly. We had a large party that came in after a wedding rehearsal. Even with a reservation we were seated almost on time which was appreciated as we had kids in our party. Our server was super friendly and gave recommendations on the menu. Was a little disgusting to see one of the supervisors use the men's room and not wash his hands.... Our party had several different things from the menu. I had the small ribeye which was OK just slightly over cooked (I like medium rare), my wife had the pork chop which she said was fine. The groom had the T bone which he was happy with. My mom had the soup and salad and she was disappointed. Other than the dirty hands there wasn't anything overly wrong with the meal but nothing amazing about it either. I would try something new next time I'm in town though.

My family and I ate here last night. Overall mid... The good: The server was really great and responsive. She was the best part of the meal. Made sure we had everything we needed. The location and atmosphere is great. Right in the heart of downtown South Lake with easy access. The bad: Prices for the food was meh at best. The menu, while adequate, isn't blowing anyone away with variety or interesting taste combos. The ugly: The food was pretty bad for the price. My cheese burger was huge and the patty somehow was overcooked and dry on the outside while cooked to med in the middle. It had a very off putting slightly fishy smell and taste. I wonder if it was grilled on the same area as their salmon and shrimp. I didn't get sick thankfully. Overall great service in a nice area with very forgettable food that is overpriced.

The guy working the front desk was extremely nice and I could tell he was helpful to everyone there. Our food was sub par. I ordered a Medium Rare stake and it was more like Medium Well. Our server did not even pay attention to the fact that we got our food and so we had to flag down someone to help us. My husband got a single crown and coke and it was more like a double. Extremely overpriced in my opinion for what you recieve.

Been here before and had a great time the host back then (redhead with glasses) was awesome. This time though Saturday July 12th, the host stand was kind of a mess. Not sure why it took three people to run it, and none of them seemed to know what was going on. The food is always great and the atmosphere is solid, but honestly, the host situation needs some work. It’s the first impression, and this time it was a bit embarrassing.

I recently went to this location. My steak was browned not seared on the outside, almost raw on the inside, not the Medium raw I ordered. the baked potato was likewise under cooked. Two other people at our table had the same complaints. The appetizers were good. The Waitstaff was great.

Kelly provided great service and management was very friendly but the cooks could get the bone in ribeye cooked correctly. Sent the steak back 4 times and after waiting over 30+ minutes the steak still wasn’t cooked properly. GM came out and acted oblivious to the situation and didn’t even apologize for horrible food experience. Would not recommend for steak lovers.

First time in this restaurant with my husband . At the very second bite, I had to stop. It was too SALTY we couldn’t finish it. So excited to taste the ribeye as it looked so scrumptious and juicy. The bread and butter was great though!

I honestly don’t even know where to start. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a very long time. The service was absolutely terrible. Our server was inattentive, unprofessional, and acted like we were an inconvenience just for being there. We waited and waited with no explanation, no updates, and no sense of urgency at all. The food took over an hour to arrive. Over an hour — in a restaurant that wasn’t even that busy. No apology. No check-in. No acknowledgment that something was clearly wrong. We were just left sitting there, hungry and frustrated, wondering if anyone even remembered our order. By the time the food finally came, the entire experience was already ruined. At that point, it didn’t matter how the food tasted — the damage was done. Dining out is supposed to be enjoyable, not exhausting. What really made it worse was the complete lack of care. Mistakes happen, delays happen — but when staff doesn’t communicate, doesn’t apologize, and doesn’t seem to care at all, it shows a deeper problem with management and training. Extremely disappointing experience. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values their time or expects basic respect as a customer.

Outrageous treatment – Rude staff refused to honor our reservation! We had an absolutely awful experience at this restaurant. We made two reservations on OpenTable—one for 6 people and another for 8—and both were accepted without any issues. However, when we arrived, the host staff flat-out refused to honor them, with no valid explanation. Instead of helping us, they were rude, dismissive, and even mocked us. It was beyond unprofessional—it felt like they went out of their way to make sure we wouldn’t be seated. To make matters worse, we were with small children, and because of their terrible attitude, they were left without dinner that night. Despite plenty of empty tables in sight, they told us we had to wait 40 minutes, clearly just to force us to leave. Their behavior was unacceptable, heartless, and completely disrespectful. A restaurant that treats its customers like this doesn’t deserve anyone’s business. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially families or groups. Attaching a photo of what may be the two staff members responsible for this awful experience—beware of them!

This is not your regular Saltgrass like Las Vegas. The waitress was very odd listening to my conversations with my friend like we were talking to her. I asked for a side of mayo and was shocked she braught me 2 packets and slammed them on the table. Seriously this isn't McDonald's. You couldn't take the time to put the condiments in a cup? asked the man running the bar was this customary? He laughed said no not at all. The bread was hard as rock. The blue cheese burger was outstanding but the waitress not only didn't ask if we wanted any sauce for the chicken strips she had attitude when we asked for ranch. It did not feel special or like the Salt Gras. I guess you have to spend More than $60 to get mayo or sauces other than in a packet like a fast food restraunt or be treated right.

We had a dinner reservation for 7:45 which we arrived on time for. Had a table in the center of the dining room right next to the well for the bar which was a bit disappointing since we requested a quiet table, and then didn’t receive service for 15 minutes while servers and staff passed us non-stop. When a manager had walked by us for the 3rd time we had asked what was going on and they just offered us a drink or app, no service. Sad service, and weirdly cafeteria esque lighting inside. Disappointing for a birthday dinner that we were looking forward to.

Everything about our experience here was ridiculous. Our waitress was very nice but there was tons of confusion with the bill because she charged incorrect cards even after we broke everything down. The entire correction process took at least 30 minutes after we were done eating. They didn't even have the courtesy to comp some of the items that were initially brought in very cold and only served way after we had dug into the rest of our food. Then when we tried to leave and get our parking validated and the front staff was very rude. Due to the issues with the receipts, we discarded most of them since they were incorrect. We explained that we no longer had them due to a huge mix up but all they could say is that they needed it without saying why. We had to go back to the table to rifle through all kinds of copies to find our own and then the hostess tries to quiz us to make sure that it is as ours? She did not explain the process which left us more frustrated. I finally decided to speak to the manager. He was nice, but he should have definitely been more involved and taken care of some of the items for all the trouble that we were caused. On top of that, the rude hostess tried to interrupt me when I was speaking to the gentleman. The entire thing was just ridiculous. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️🤦

Ridiculous. Show up at 1:20 pm on a Sunday with only a few tables occupied. Asked if we have a reservation and we don’t. Have to wait 20 minutes. Kicker is if you go to their website for a reservation can’t make one till 4 pm on Sundays.

First problem we were shown to a table and when I asked for a booth instead the guy looked at me like I was an inconvenience. Then my wife and I sat there for 20 mins, had 3 servers walk right by. No one said anything. It was not that busy. Would have been nice if someone came over and apologized for the wait and brought us some water at least. I won't be going back.
