Opinions de Donut World Staten Island
Best donuts we’ve ever had! Service was excellent. Will definitely be back :)
Creative flavors on a cake donuts platform. I selected peanut butter and raspberry, smores, and Boston cream. All flavors were delicious including the Boston cream. The custard was the right texture and flavor.
Best homemade affordable donuts I’ve come here at all times of day and the donuts are consistently fresh, tasty and well made! So many flavors. My bf and I fav sweet spot on the island.
I was craving doughnuts last night and went to this establishment for the first time and let me tell you... it was DELIGHTFUL. The gentleman (owner maybe?) was uber nice, the tea that I had really hit the spot, the doughnuts were DELICIOUS (MASSIVE shout out to the yumminess that is the Froot Loop doughnut!), both types of fried Oreos were just... perfection, and the place itself was clean and inviting. Highly recommend. If I lived in the area, I'd have a huge problem on my hands with how often I'd come here. 😂
Donut world is the best place to get fresh donuts. I love the smell of the different creams when I walk into the store. There’s so many flavors and customizations for your donut. I enjoy watching the staff make the donuts in front of me. The staff are friendly and greet you once you walk into the store. I tell my friends and coworkers about Donut world. I have nothing, but great things to say about the store.
Oh my God! To quote my seven year old son " I feel like I have never eaten a donut before". You need to go there now, order a dozen, and eat some of them right there while they are hot. Thank God this place is on the other side of the island. If I lived anywhere near there I would be 800 pounds. Very nice counter people as well. Always a plus.
Love this place! I asked the manager about gluten free and vegan options, she explained that they're new but working on something as the owner's kids are GF or vegan. Otherwise, they're amazing. I had the French toast and my son has the Oreo with a sugar glaze. Truly a step above and beyond the stale factory taste from the chains.
I have been looking for a place like this for a while. Where the donuts are made fresh to order. Arguably the best donut I have ever had in my life. So many different options to choose from. Staff is all extremely friendly and place itself is really well decorated. I also had an oreo one but it didn't last long enough for me to take a picture! I would highly recommend for any other donut lovers like myself. I also had a strawberry ice tea which was also very tasty. $1.85 for one is only a little more pricy then the other donut franchise. The quality and the fact that it was actually hot when I got to eat it makes it so worth it. Make sure to bring your appetite because you are going to want to eat at least 3 by yourself.
Cool donut shop with lots of options. All the donuts are either old fashioned or devil cake but the toppings are ENDLESS. Tons of combinations to choose from, or create your own. Service was excellent and the guy taking our order was so patient as we went through all the options and kept changing our minds every time we saw something new. The girl making the donuts was super fast and good at her craft. You can watch them put everything together from behind the glass wall. Not too pricey (we paid $30 for 8 gourmet options.) Extra bonus for Star Wars lovers, as the owner is a fan and there is a whole wall of paraphernalia.
The experience was a bit unique for Staten Island the store reminiscent of a small local cafe yet the goods for sale like mugs and shirts are quite affordable, the coffee at first sip was ok but as it cooled was amazing, and left me longing to try the cold their brew. The donuts can be ordered from pre-selected flavor combos or you make your own; order straight from the board or on a cute lil clipboard like you're at the doctor's. You can either have a seat or watch your donuts be made like watching your car at a car wash. When I heard they were cakey I wasnt expecting much but when eaten hot they are almost life changing, Once cooled they were Eh Ok. Reasonably priced and yummy. Great experience.
I didn’t realize that they just use the same donut and put different toppings on them when you order. For some reason when places do that the donuts all taste the same. No different here. I got this in the overrated category. Tried the peanut butter donut as well as the oreo donut. Both ok.
Excellent donuts. Cant say the same for customer service. I always come here for fresh, delicious donuts. Today I came in for two dozen for a party. Asked for a small box to give a friend two donuts from the two dozen and he charged me $1 for this small box after spending almost $50 on donuts. That was wild to me. Things like that really annoy me so it’s bonkers to lose a customer over a $1.
I chose this place randomly as it was the first thing Uber Eats showed me when I looked for desserts. Although price is an issue for me, I’m limiting it to just the Donut World fees (and none of the added Uber Eats fees). It’s weird that they offer a 1/2 dozen deal for $11.50 (which is comparable to Dunkin Donuts — 6 Boston Kremes cost $11), but then Donut World charges a surcharge for basic donuts like jelly & Boston Kreme. So $2 a donut turned into nearly $3 a donut. And I really do apologize for leaving this low rating review because I really do love giving rave reviews (when deserved). I have to be truthful and transparent: I did not enjoy these donuts. I wish I had ordered 6 Boston Kreme for DD. The biggest issue I have with DW donuts is that they do something I’ve never seen done before (and IMO it’s not a good something): the jelly donut and Boston Kreme donut are ring donuts with filling in the center hole—the filling is not encased INSIDE the donut—it is just filling the hole, which is cool for aesthetics but horrible for functionality: As soon as you take a bite, or maybe even as soon as you pick donut up, all the filling drops out. SPLAAT. Look at the accompanying photos for this review and you’ll see a big glob of jelly and a big glob of Kreme. And that means, the extra fee I got charged for the jelly and the Kreme, I didn’t even get to taste it because it all fell out! I don’t see myself eating at or from DW again. Out of the three flavors I ordered, the apple crumb was the best, but the song by Meatloaf says 2 out of 3 ain’t bad—not 1 out of 3. A .333 success average is great in baseball, but not so much when it represents how much enjoyment you derived from a food order.
In short: I was surprised to find it's one base type of donut with many kinds of toppings. I thought the donut was ok and tasty, but I enjoy other styles of donut more. Staff was less enthusiastic than average. The long review: When I came to the store with my family, I was surprised to find that for a place called donut world, there isn't a lot of variety. While there are many possible toppings, the base donut is the same for every donut. A Boston Creme will be the same as a jelly donut, which is the same as a chocolate sprinkle donut. They do not sell French Crullers which was one style I was hoping to get. The choices of toppings are a bit overwhelming since there are so many options, and the pressure of making a decision was NOT helped by the counter staff acting impatient for us to finish our order. There are 3 tiers of donut prices, special donuts (filling with cookie crumbles or other particular sprinkles), donuts with filling (Boston Creme), and regular donuts. There is no strong indication that a Boston Creme will be a donut with a hole, and creme filling put in the center, so I was very surprised and disappointed to find that out. We bought a French Toast donut, cheesecake donut, Boston Creme, and maple bacon. -French toast was by far the favorite. It had a nice crunchy top that tasted kind of like cinnamon toast with powdered sugar. -Maple bacon came second, with fresh bacon topping the maple glaze, it did not seem too sweet and the bacon retained some crunch. -Boston Creme is third, being disappointing to me as it didn't have the kind of hard chocolate glaze I've come to expect, and creme filling that was sweeter than I wanted it to be. You cannot pick up the donut either because of how the filling is added to the center. I compare Boston Creme's to Dunken Donuts for a standard, and I would definitely put this one below Dunken Donuts. If Dunken is a 5/10, this gets a 2/10. -Cheesecake donut is last as it tasted nothing like cheesecake to me, and frankly didn't have much of a taste so I focused more on the texture of the creme. The texture of the creme is a little clumpy so it wasn't pleasant to me.
Walked in. I was trying to order some donuts. There was a guy behind the counter (white guy). He took a phone call when he was done. I told him sorry for taking too long to order. I am trying to figure out what to order. He gave me a dirty look. He says nothing and went to the other side. Good thing I didn’t place any order. I walked right out. I am not giving you my money if you’re that rude. I’m going to get some mochi donut.
Place dies not sell vegan donuts individually they demand you get a dozen which is a surprise to me since I purchased a single vegan donut in the past the gentleman that works there was rude and obnoxious about it! I will definitely spread the word out there and make sure that ind do not patronize this establishment!!
