Mizu Hibachi Steakhouse

Before I came into the restaurant, I’ll be honest - I didn’t think it would be that good based on the reviews. But when the steak was dropped onto my plate by the chef, I learned not to judge a restaurant by its cover! Amazing (and funny) chef, great food and sauces! Definitely recommend.

Great place for family dinner and entertainment!

I was there today to celebrate Kevin's birthday. The food is fresh .the cook is really good . The owner is more than a gentleman. I can never say anything bad about this establishment. I LOVED IT !

We came here for a family dinner after a long time and we all had a great fun time. Our Hibachi Chef Mr. Daniel was outstanding, skillful and on fire!! All in 100% recommend and do ask for Mr. Daniel as your chef next time!

Our favorite hibachi restaurant!!! The food is always delicious, service is good and pretty quick also. I have a dairy allergy so they consistently make my meal separately in the back without any butter and it always tastes great. There are 2 sides to the restaurant: the side with hibachi tables and the restaurant side with regular tables. We have dined here many, many times and both sides are just as good. We also order for pickup and food is still warm when we arrive home. If you want the show, sit at the hibachi table. If you want to chat a bit more and face everyone in your party, opt for the restaurant side. Hibachi dinner comes with soup, salad, your entree, mixed vegetables, white rice and ice cream. I always "upgrade" my white rice to fried rice. It's the best! It only costs a few dollars and it's worth it. For dinner, I either get the hibachi chicken & steak combo or the hibachi filet mignon. Dinner portions are generous so I always have leftovers. Lunch portions are good also. Thank you, Mizu staff! We will be back again soon!

Came for lunch and it was a little quiet, but food was great. Can’t complain.

The kids love the experience just as much as the adults do. Love the food here, both the hibachi and the sushi is always delicious and satisfying.

The food was very good as well. I feel the portions were fair for what it appears for the area. I did not like how there was a charge for fried rice as most hibachi places do not charge for that. They also do not have unsweetened tea as well. I would be back I think it’s one of the better hibachi places in my area. I will be back to try other items to see if my review changes.

I love this place but after they reopened, some of the food that I craved no longer tastes good. The hot and sour soup use to be unique and amazing. Now it's tastelee and watered down. The Thai soup wasn't good either and hibachi was off. Maybe a new chef? Please go back to ur old recipes. I don't even want to chance ordering from here.

We did not like the place. Their king crab dish (tako?) tasted more like a crab stick(. They had no uni, although it was on the menu. My son and wife ordered dragonballs and said they were no good; they did not finish their meal. Sushi were more or less OK. There are much better Japanese restaurants on Staten Island.

I heard about this place from family and friends and I've been living in the neighborhood for a long time. I finally decided to try it and boy, was I so disappointed. This pertains to the dine in area and not the hibachi part. The appetizer was beef negimaki, it was good. The main course was salmon teriyaki, it was luke warm to cold. The dumplings were even colder. The sushi was not fresh, the seaweed was rubbery. The fruit it came with had a small hair in it. It was gross. I really wanted to like this place, but I just left a terrible taste in my mouth.

Staff was friendly and on top of things, I did not enjoy the food. My hibachi chicken was dry, a bit over cooked. My partners hibachi steak was bland. On the plate I had far too many of just one type of veggie and had only three carrots and four very tiny broccoli flourents. Would not recomend.

they ruined a birthday party ... we had reservat for 7:30 pm , we was late 8 min and they ask us wait 40 min to be seated ... so whats the point of reservation??? Our guests was wauting on the bar ... older people must wait too .. its terrible . Then they put candles on birthday cake 81 instead of 18 ( and at cake was sighn happy 18 th birthday) . They give that cake to young person , all guests was making fun of birthday person ... birthday was runned from the begging and at the end .... Never ever again !!!! Terrible unprofessional ...

Napkins were dirty. Service slow. Steak Hibachi did not come with the standard sauces (yummy sauce) - DO NOT order the fried calamari, worst calamari I have ever had - tasted like rubber.

Not too fond of their tempura. The vegetables were saturated in oil and i couldn't really enjoy them. Also, the shrimp tempura was very bland and the miso soup tasted like it was sitting for several days. That's just my personal opinion. However, my 12 year old daughter really enjoyed the Salmon and California rolls.

Order was an hour and a half late, when I called I was told sorry we are busy you will have to wait. Manager said food would be here in 15 minutes and an hour later it showed up. Manager also suggested I can pick it up if I wanted. Very bad customer relations, food was alright when it got here, but you can tell the sushi was rushed because it was not rolled tight and fell apart when you picked it up. I had high hopes but it was a giant let down. I will never recommend or order from here again!!!!

Bate and Switch. Ordered filet mignon steaks rare. We were served skirt steaks, and mine was medium and my husband's was medium rare. It used to be good. No more, we won't be back!

Would not recommend. Waited a solid 20 minutes after being seated for someone to take our order before we finally said enough is enough and left. We observed a few employees texting on their phones and eating as we waited, until the health department showed up for a surprise inspection then they scrambled.

I came with my wife for Saturday lunch. We ate in many great sushi restaurants, but this one unfortunately is horrible. Every sushi roll tasted the same, the quality of the fish was awful. Place was dirty, hostess at the front extremely unpleasant and unprofessional.

Upon walking in, I was a little early for my reservation and they wouldn't seat me until my party was here. The food was terrible, the chicken was salty and chewy. The service was ehh, not helpful at all. I wouldn't recommend this place.

My wife and I had dinner there last night, 7/14/18. I had their hibachi steak and chicken and my wife had the hibachi shrimp and scallop. We also ordered a tuna pizza for appetizer. Taste was good and we enjoyed our time there. Issue was when we got home, my wife felt extreamely sick. I'll spare everyone the details but she got food poisoning and I also had issues. We were almost about to take her to the ER because she thought she was going to faint. Whatever she ate there, did this to her. We had no food other than this place and we only had a snack around 11am the entire day so it was definately whatever she ate there. Bottom lines if you want hibachi, go to Arirang on Staten Island instead.

Awful customer experience I really ate here and my check was different from what the prices were on the menu when I brought it to the managers attention he told me prices have gone up however I was not paying higher than what was on the menu. Reluctantly he gave me my money back but what a disgusting attitude to have especially when those are the prices that are advertised on the menu.

Ordered steak and lobster. Portions were miniscule and both were overly salty. Ordered coffee and they served us Sanka. Price was ridiculous. The hostess nor the waitress asked us how everything was nor said goodbye upon leaving. I would never go back.

Waiters are disgusting like so bad, very disrespectful and laugh in ur face. Went there for a birthday dinner and they had the audacity to bring the check back and say the 15$ we tipped was not enough. And proceed to laugh in our face. It says this place serves vegan dishes but there’s literally nothing vegan besides your occasional avocado cucumber roll which I can get at the supermarket cheaper. Stop misleading your customers.

If I can give them a zero I would. Came in on a Wednesday night, with hardly anyone in the restaurant. We Informed them that we would like Hibachi as it was our son's birthday. The staff started running around the restaurant like chickens without a head. We waited and apparently they didn't have any seats. Mind you the entire restaurant was empty. We left and went next door to Campania. The servers looked miserable like we were bothering them. Don't waste your time going to this place there are plenty of restaurants that would appreciate your business and make you feel welcome.
