We had a GREAT experience at this restaurant, starting being greeted by the server Johan with a smile, then with the delicious food. The server started recommended drinks: I had the French Martini, appetizers: Octopus and baked clams and main entrees: Salmon extremely delicious. Great outdoor seating area. We really enjoyed this dinner with my best friends last night. Thank you Johan (server) from Venezuela.

Delicious foods!!!!...the octopus was cooked just right---crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The branzino was firm, tender and juicy. Services was excellent!!!.....the waiter who I think was the boss was super friendly!! Definitely recommend a try. I would definitely make this my regular spot. The special non-alcoholic drink that was made for me (forgot to take a pic) was so good too!!!

Osteria by Primo was the perfect choice for my birthday celebration, and we couldn’t have made a better decision. The restaurant has its own parking lot, which is very convenient. Inside, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I have a deja vu that I am on my vacation in Italy. The service is truly exceptional. It feels elegant but never pretentious. Our dinner was filled with joy and unforgettable food—fried calamari, grilled octopus, fresh salads, pizza, pasta and perfectly cooked steaks. I won’t describe each dish in detail because every single one was mouthwatering, delicious, and obviously prepared with heart. We even had the pleasure of meeting the chef, who kindly checked on us and surprised our table with complimentary treats. It made the evening even more special. It was, without doubt, one of the best celebrations I could imagine. Osteria by Primo has now become my special place, and highly recommend it for any occasion.

I recently dined here and had an excellent experience. Dan provided exceptional service, making our visit even more enjoyable. The short rib was incredibly tender and flavorful, easily one of the best I’ve had. The risotto was perfectly prepared—creamy, well-balanced, and seasoned to perfection. I also tried the mushroom pizza, which was delicious and beautifully executed. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this spot for both the food and the service.

The food is amazing!! The octopus is to die for so soft and flavorful wow!! This place is such a hidden gem! The waiter Dan could be very questionable but other than that good food!!

I don’t usually enjoy Italian food as I find it somewhat bland and plain (my go to is usually Asian food), but the quality of the food in Osteria blew me away. The Alla Norma was an excellent blend of fresh vegetable in a refreshing sauce, and the pasta was cooked well. Enjoyed a virgin Moscow mule mocktail and the very light but flavorful tiramisu. Happy to say this is the first Italian restaurant I’ve tried that I would recommend to anyone! We came at around 8:30 pm and it was fairly empty with a very casual feel to the staff, not overly stuffy. Enjoyed the experience a lot!

Being from NJ, we don't really know Staten Island well. We found this place online for a quick bite. We lucked out big time!!! This place is a hidden gem. From start to finish, every bite was fresh, flavorful and delicious. We tried one special appetizer and a couple Italian classics- we were blown away by how perfect each bite was. The service was outstanding and the restaurant is modern yet inviting. Next time this place will be our destination not just a quick stop.

This place was absolutely amazing!! From start to finish the service was super attentive and personable which made me feel at home. The food truly blew me away !! The pasta was sooo fresh and packed a lot of flavor I basically licked the bowl clean !!! Not to mention the octopus was sooooo tender it melted in my mouth. To make a great night even better their selection of liquor and wines was extensive and truly top tier it shows how much love and thought they put into their menu. We absolutely will be coming back to eat again and again we highly recommend it.

When my husband said he booked us a place to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary all by himself by simply asking Google what the best Italian restaurant in all of Staten Island, I was pretty impressed, shocked and slightly suspicious all at the same time. The pictures looked delicious enough to lick my phone, and the menu had all the great staples you'd want in a celebratory dinner. I was pleased and excited for our dinner. We made early reservations (5PM) this past Saturday, and got to have a comfy, sun-drenched seat by the window over looking their outdoor seating patio that probably gets mobbed come the summer months. We started with a prosecco for me and hubby got a rum and coke. When Dan our waiter brought out caponatina with onion and lightly sauced foccacia bread, I knew we were in for a real treat. We fought over the bread and I was awed by how great the eggplant dish tasted. So far, so damn good. Their specials of the night were one more tempting than the next, but I ended up with the funghi pappardelle pasta while my husband can't give up his penne alla vodka with grilled chicken on top. I too was tempted to switch last minute to the veal marasala, but my fat cells were called to the carbs. We wanted the baked clams to start (8 shells) and it was the best decision we made to start off the night. These were the BEST baked clams I've had in a REALLY long time. Hubby was sopping up the lemon and breadcrumb sauce like he was heading for the electric chair. I knew better that I had to pace myself. If my husband's vodka dish was a 10/10, mine was a 12/10; no far exaggeration. Pasta cooked to al dente and the notion the pasta wasn't drowning in the sauce was a tall-tale sign, they were confident in their freshly made pasta and their sauce. On my first bite, I already had texted 3 people that I was dragging them here to try this place. The vibe was classic, but not stuffy, and very clean and inviting. Upscale Manhattan-feeling without burning a hole in your wallet. Dan was so wonderful and checked on us throughout our meal and even gave us Italian cheesecake to share on the house to end our meal with a literal cherry on top. We both felt super special and catered to. The finest in Italian comfort food. We'll be back several times before the year's over.

Words cannot describe how delicious the food is. Last night would have been my family's second time dining at this gem. From start to finish, the staff made us feel welcome and eager to make us have a wonderful evening. My picky eaters finished their plate of food, and bonus points for having my husband’s favorite whiskey. Some favorite appetizers that I can recommend are the Octopus, Mussels, Burrata (a special), Crab Cakes (a special), and the Scallops ( a special). Some recommendations for entrees are my favorite, the Funghi, the Ragu pasta dish, the Chicken Capricciosa, the Filet of Sole, the Pork Chop, and the Short Rib. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. It tops all the Italian restaurants I have tried by far, anywhere.

The atmosphere was cozy and lively without being too loud, which was perfect for a family celebration. The food was really amazing! Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals, and portions were generous. Service was extremely attentive and friendly, and they were patient with us throughout the night, especially with a birthday celebration involved. Overall, it was a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion, and we all left happy. Would definitely come back. I highly recommend Osteria by Primo!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you haven’t been to Osteria by Primo, you are seriously missing out. The food was absolutely outstanding from start to finish — the Crabmeat & Avocado Salad was unbelievably fresh, the grilled octopus was perfectly tender, and the Prosciutto & Fig Pizzetta… are you kidding me?! WOW, WOW, WOW. A must-order is the Sachettini (“sack” pasta) stuffed with pear & gorgonzola topped with a dreamy brown butter sage sauce — it was pure perfection. The Grilled Alaskan Salmon, pan-roasted and finished with citrus sauce and orange segments, was just as phenomenal and cooked flawlessly. And you absolutely have to end the night with an affogato made by the amazing Dan himself — one of the best in the business and someone who truly delivers top-tier customer service. Highly, highly recommend. This place is a gem. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I had to pleasure to dine there yesterday , this place exceeded all my expectations from the ambiance , the service and most importantly the food. The octopus was cooked to perfection followed by our main course the Chilean Sea bass was phenomenal and the veal piccata was delicious. This is probably the best kept secret on the Island you won’t be disappointed . A huge thanks to the owner who came to our table to make sure everything was up to our expectations . This restaurant was stupendous and a pleasure to eat at. I have never made a review before and almost thought to keep to myself...but this place deserves all the gold stars!! Exceptional service, great lighting, music was at a perfect volume, a nice parking lot, overall cozy and happy, and most importantly, the food was delicious and felt it was made with the utmost care. Not to mention the portion size was amazing! I came here for my mother's birthday and she was treated very well and am so grateful for the experience! So happy to find real fine dining on the island!

We made reservations for Valentine's Day. We didn't realize they were only serving their pre-fix menu, which has limited options that neither of us liked. The guy sitting next to us had french fries added onto his entree, which we didn't know we were allowed to order. Each of our courses took forever to come out. The couple sitting next to us that came after us, got their entrees significantly sooner than we got ours. We were there for almost 3 HOURS, too long for just a simple dinner for 2, which also made us completely miss our movie for the night. Not worth the automatic 20% gratuity, and will surely not be coming back or recommending.
