Omg! The ribs were delicious! I was craving the ribs so bad that THIS hit the spot! We are from out of state and we were worried we weren’t going to enjoy our meal since there wasn’t a-lot of bbq options in town. We were proven wrong. I highly recommend this place if you are craving some bbq.

Drive thru review- The location of the drive-thru was easily accessible and wide enough for larger vehicles. The menu was clear and they didn't rush you when you needed a minute to review the menu. I placed my order and the girl repeated the order back to me for accuracy. When I drove around to the pickup window, I was greeted professionally and my order was repeated to me and then I was handed my receipt. I was offered all sorts of condiments for the sliced pork sandwich on garlic bread with fries and a freshly brewed iced tea. The pork had great flavor and was NOT dried out. I was offered either bun or garlic bread for my sandwich. I chose garlic bread, which was barely toasted which made it soggy. But it didn't keep me from eating it. The fries were crinkle cut and they were perfectly salted and fresh. Iced tea was fresh - and had melted all of my ice before I got out of the parking lot, but was refreshing.

I usually come to Sonny’s for ribs, I switched it up this time and ordered the dry rub chicken wings fried crispy. Glad I tried something different because they were awesome. Food was really good, the BRISKET IS THE BEST THING THERE! The pulled pork is good however if you don’t like the taste of sweet baby rays then you won’t really like it, the ribs were pretty good PULLED CHICKEN WAS REALLY GOOD, corn bread was excellent, tots were really good, Mac and cheese was yummy but not the best I’ve had, coleslaw was comparable to chicken shake!

We do take-out weekly, and with rare exceptions, food is consistently good, the ladies at the drive through are usually pleasant, and prompt, and knowledgeable.

Went here with a few friends the other day and I just have to say the food was phenomenal but what really stole the show for me was the service. My server was Ella and she absolutely crushed it. Worked really hard to make sure that my needs were met. Absolutely recommend going with the family or friends. Chelsea provided us with a great experience. The “test” menu is probably the worst menu I have ever seen. In no way is this menu easier to read or more organized. Why on earth would you put dinner plates under what is essentially a catering section. Why is there only 2 appetizers??? The entire sandwich section needs to be reworked. The salad prices already include the upcharge for meat, but don’t show a price if you don’t get meat. I would consider this test an absolute fail. I am tired of going to a place I’ve gone for 20 years, which used to be consistent and stable, which is now something new constantly. A changed recipe, a change in menu, sides that come in go as well as meals. How do you expect people to want to come to a place that is a carousel of change. For a family friendly bbq restaurant, people want consistency and stability. Add stuff and take off the lowest of lowest sale items, but don’t take the things people actually like. I left 5 stars because our experience was overall 10/10, but corporate needs to make a big change in the way they manage their chains and menus.

WE ❤️ ALEXA. Came in on a Saturday night with an unexpected large party, about 15 people. We'd just been met with a nasty attitude at another restaurant, so we came to Sonny's. We were warmly welcomed by Alexa, and in the brief time we were waiting for her to set up a table for us, 3 other super sweet ladies came to greet us. Alexa took great care of us single handedly, drinks and food and follow ups were prompt and perfect, zero complaints, we'll definitely be back!

1st time here. We had a late lunch. The server was great. The food was very good and inexpensive.

My family were in town from NH and we wanted a great take option our first night at the Air BNB. We looked online and kept seeing people raving about Sonny’s. We are suckers for good BBQ so we placed a massive online order. They had it ready for pick exactly as promised and did a great job packing everything up for our to go to order. Everything was super tasty and delicious. Even the sides were on point! A few of us got sandwiches and others got the BBQ sampler so we could try all the different smoked meats (so glad we did that!)

I've been eating at Sonny's since 1982 when there were only a few locations in existence. The menu has changed a little over the years and the decor has changed a lot, but the quality and tastiness of the food has not. Everybody in our party of six was very happy with their food.

I am a 20+ year fan of Sonny’s bar b que. They recently changed the format of their menu , not their food. The new menu doesn’t make sense. This Sonny's location is not bad relatively clean and not crowded during the afternoons. They offered fast service and the menu is easy to read. Also has a drive thru. The restaurant menu mainly beef, pork, chicken barbecue style plates. Sonny's is very good if one is in the mood for barbecue. Cons: - Front attend does not greed people coming in to dine. - tables are very sticky and a bit dirty.

This is a tough review for us as it was the first time here, after wanting to try this place for nearly two years living in the area, and some of the food was served cold or lukewarm. It may been a bad day in the kitchen but it unfortunately made the meal less desirable. We chose three meat combo that my wife and I would split to try their different offerings. It was a 3:00 Sunday meal so an odd time and the place was fairly empty. We were seated and ordered some drinks. The Amberbach was served nicely cold and was really good on this hot afternoon. We ordered a combo with Baby Back Ribs (for an upcharge), the pulled pork and BBQ chicken. For sides we had the tator tots and smoked rice and a cornbread muffin. It all looked great, but as soon as we stated to eat, the ribs were ice cold one rib in. We called the waitress over immediately after trying the ribs and she happily took the ribs back and they made a another portion for us. She explained that the ribs are pre made and then heated up on the grill when ordered. We then tried the chicken which was hot and tasted fine. When we tried the pulled pork it was just room temperature. At that point we didn't want to call the waitress back as the ribs still weren't ready yet but figured we we just take it to go. When we got the 2nd set of ribs they seemed to be hot, but we soon realized the bottom was barely warm. We summized either the oven was off or someone the the kitchen was not turning the meat. It all tasted fine and this should have been a 4 rated meal, but we could not enjoy the experience with improperly heated meat. At least the sides of tator tots and smokey rice were hot and tasty. So, it was hard to give this locstion a higher rating soley based on the temperature of the food. Flavor wise, all was very good. The waitress really tried to accommodate us with another serving of pulled pork, so it was not her fault, but then again, they could have taken some of cost off after complaining twice. I am willing to try again, but definetly not on a Sunday afternoon.

Ribs are good but venue needs to be updated. Tables were not cleaned very well with stickey residue. Second visit yesterday was much better. Food served well and tasted great. Menu selections were less than previously but still some good choices. Cuban sandwich was very good.

I've been a Sonny's customer for many years. What has happened to the portion size of the sides? I generally get a couple dinners 'To-Go' and the container they use for the coleslaw is tiny - and they fill 3/4 full. Today we ate in - same issue, the bake beans we're only 3/4 full in the shallow dish. The French Fries didn't fill the plate. Everything tasted great - as always. Service from Zane was not his best. Left us sitting at the table way too long after he brought the tea. I had to track him down to place our food order (he was sitting at the bar looking at his phone). Ketchup bottle was empty too. Overall, a disappointing experience.

I just ordered through a delivery app and got the Cuban sandwich meal and a side of BBQ Dirty Rice ($3.49)... I will insert pictures, but what the dirty rice looks like on the menu, and what I was charged this ridiculous price for are incredibly different. Mine came in the tiny little white Styrofoam bowl and literally had 2 small pieces of sausage in it. The one in the picture I took after I had a couple of bites of just rice and corn, and one other small piece that was less than half the size of the photographed one. Disappointing... The Cuban sandwich was alright, other than the fact that the "pulled pork" on one half of it was one glob of fatty tissue and one burnt end that I couldn't even bit through. The other half was just one solid piece of pork that I had to take out and shred with my fingers and put back into the sandwich. It's been a while since I have ordered Sonny's, and now I remember why...

we really got jipped and cheated this order.my husbands Pick 3 Combo was completely missing. in His dinner they only put fries and chopped brisket and that was it. my husbands PICK 3 was supposed to be wing, turkey, jalapeno sausage link. in my plate they completely missed the cornbread. thefood was disgusting tasted old and just gross like ribs were rock hard throughout. no pride in their food. and the worst part is this wasnt made right by either the restaurant OR doordash!! we were cheated.

I drove an extra half hour out of my way so that I could bring good brisket back to my mom in SF. I didn’t see the option of brisket by pound or half pound on the menu. So, I ask the cashier and she looks it up in her system. I order it, she asks me to pay before hand. The pay menu includes tip option even for take-out. So, I pay and tip. I am later told there is no brisket. This is 8pm, 1hr before closing. The guy next to me has a huge sandwich full of chopped brisket. I ask how that’s possible & she goes to get someone to process refund. This employee says something about problems with their vendor. He proceeds to refund me, but tells me it’s voided instead (even though I signed). Whoever trained these employees or owns this franchise has forgotten what it means to serve southern food. There was no southern hospitality. I told both cashier and this guy that I drove out of my way for this. I’m not told that they’re sorry. I’m not told how fantastic some other option is on the menu. I’m not given some sort of coupon or voucher for having faith in their establishment and compensating me for my trouble of going there. They show none of the customer service you’d expect in an actual southern food establishment or even just good customer service. They could care less. That’s why a Dickey’s should show up here. I’ve seen their brisket and it doesn’t look half as juicy or their burnt ends as black & peppercorned. But I know Sonny’s is also a chain, so I thought I’d give it a try. 👎Honestly, idk if I believe all their brisket was gone. To me, bc I asked for something not explicitly on their menu (but offered on menu at every other BBQ place I’ve been to in TX ,La, MS, & FL), they decided not to provide it. Maybe they weren’t out but were short on the item & decided to say no to me with 1/2 lb which could be 2-3 of their brisket sandwiches instead. They didn’t have to lie. And if they did insist they’re out they could have given the brand a good name by offering a discount for my next trip to the establishment or raved about their other items. But they had no concern that I left their place hungry and a wasted trip. 👎

We walked in and sat in front of the kitchen and looked inside the kitchen and it was filthy and disgusting. We got there for five minutes before somebody even asked what you wanted to drink. He told him in another three minutes, went by so we left.

Not worth the money. The sprite was flat tasting soda water, that should have been the sign. But nonetheless we gave it a go. Wouldn’t recommend. Had the bubble guts for 2 days.

I was actually looking forward to Sonny’s after a long day of work on July 15. I hit the drive-thru at the Merritt Island location and got ribs and two pulled pork sandwiches. The pulled pork sandwiches were just alright , nothing special. But the ribs? Absolutely unacceptable. They were dry as a bone, hard, and tough like beef jerky. Zero moisture, zero tenderness. Just dry, chewy disappointment. And what blows my mind is this — how does the person boxing this up not notice how awful they look and feel? If I can see it the second I open the box, they definitely saw it when packing it. But they still served it anyway? It honestly felt like they just didn’t care. I was starving and excited for this meal, and instead I got something that felt like cardboard. Huge letdown. I added photos because people need to see what was served.

Ordered a full rack of Baby Back Ribs. Both halves were each the size of my hand and contained very little meat. Absolutely pathetic! UPDATE: Was asked to provide my contact info, nobody ever contacted me. I gave it a second shot today 7/6 and I'm sorry to say that nothing has changed. The Ribs I received today were miniscule, over done and DRY AS COTTON. I'm done with Sonny's 👎
