This was our very first time trying this restaurant. The ordering process was different with having to order first then finding your table. With that being the only hiccup to most other restaurants we really enjoyed our food,service, and the atmosphere. The food was incredible and all the servings were absolutely delicious and big servings in comparison to other Japanese style restaurants we have tried. The service was perfect. The atmosphere was great for a family dinner or even if you and a romantic evening was occurring. If we ever are in the area again we would definitely go back!! If you are into Different types of Sake then this is place to be. I have not ever seen this many types of Sale in one place that has descriptions like this. It was fun flipping through all of these to learn about Sake!!!

When you walk in there's a line to the counter. You place your order and pay before you sit down to eat, it's a little unorthodox but it works. My wife and I orderer the 50/50 roll and the i-scream roll, both were amazing!! Sushi is one of those things where it's either great or it's not, happy to say we lucked out finding this place since we're not from Stockton. Would not pass up ShoMi if you're in the area.

Fried calamari ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: pretty good fried calamari. Could be a touch more crispy in my opinion. Shrimp curry ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: my go to order at this place. Curry is a great consistency and shrimp is nicely fried and crispy and pairs well with the curry. Side note: we did have an issue with our order and the staff were quick to respond and remedied our issue promptly so customer service is definitely good here!

I really love eating their sushi’s here! Not only that, they serve really presentable and delicious food. They give a pretty good amount of portions, and I get pretty full from the food. I was highly satisfied with my meal.

It was my first time here and the sushi was delicious. The portion was good for the price. I wish the curry had some meat though. But overall I had a great experience dining in with my family.

I love the place, service and food, still getting used to order at front, cause you have to know what you want and don't take to long on the menu and for me, I'm a person that reads all the menu to eat something different every time that I go to a place, I don't like to order the same plate always.

First time eating at this restaurant. Was expecting a sit down order but you order at a counter when you walk in. After looking over the menu we ordered 2 rolls of Sushi. One was the Cowboy roll and the other was a salmon sushi. The food was amazing and reasonable priced. Don't let ordering at the counter then sitting down keep you from trying this amazing restaurant.

This is one of our favorite places to go out and enjoy a meal, and it’s the only sushi restaurant that we can go to and always know we are going to fully enjoy our meal and our experience. The staff is very friendly, the food is always on point and they just recently redid their interior for the restaurant and it looks amazing.

I adore japanese food and Shomi is my favorite anywhere. i love the flavor and texture of their eel. It makes everything they put it on better, which is already delicious? They have a wonderfully large variety of sushi, and even when I'm trying something different, I always have to order a special role. It is amazing. Tonight I added cream cheese to it for the first time and it was great! Occasionally, I order something that is not sushi, and it is always delicious as well.

Honestly, I would like to say I was happy to see a sushi restaurant request you to pay as you order your meal! My family and I went today at 12/16 as soon as they open. Coming from Fresno. Experience was different, quiet and very much appreciated the host. Whom smiled and assisted on a few items request 😄 sushi was okay my brother wanted more than myself I order spicy miso edamame

The place is clean and you have to pay first. The spicy miso is quite good but need a little bit of salt. The service is pretty quick.

I have been here for awhile since owners changed I finally decide to see how it was. Well, to my surprise a lot people gave them rate of 4 or 5 stars. I thought why not give a try. I'm glad I did. The food was tasty and fresh. The sashimi was fresh and my son chicken katsu was delicious.😋 The customer service was very friendly and helpful. 🤗 After that I went back many times and what love most is just down road from. 😁 My advise to give this place try. Have a good adventure. 😎

The staff were incredibly kind and polite, and the service was impressively quick. I got a seat right away during lunchtime, and the ambiance was welcoming and clean. While I had high hopes, the food didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The sashimi appetizer, unfortunately, lacked flavor, and the chicken karaage didn’t stand out either. That said, it might have just been an off day for the fish, or I may not have ordered their specialty. I’d definitely consider giving them another chance and trying something different on the menu next time.

I have to say I was very disappointed with the the customer service, no one was friendly , no one smiled , and YES even though they are masked, you can still tell when someone is smiling or even enthusiastic to help, this is SOOO NOT the case here... when I asked my waitress what she recommended , she knew nothing about the menu... We ordered calamari for our appetizer instead we got what tasted like fish sticks with tarter sauce. NOT GOOD AT ALL!! I will say that the 3 rolls we ordered were very good. Servers were not immediately in the dining area, so no one was checking us. Food was average. Did they change owners? Complete change in staffing? I noticed reduced star ratings. I'm baffled as I am disappointed. There are way too many other places to have sushi and this will no longer be on my list.
