Do not miss an opportunity to eat here! I’ve been to a few Korean bbq places in Seoul and NYC and I found this place to be very tasty! Banchan was plentiful and all the food was super fresh, and the meats were very generous. The place is beautiful, the atmosphere is fun, and the service is incredibly attentive and accommodating. Great place for a group dinner, celebration meal, and all around great night out. Will definitely be coming back!
It was fantastic. From outside the building, you would never know the delicious food they make inside and their staff is super nice with everything. The food is fresh and the Manager is the coolest guy. He loves giving discounts when you pay your bill right before you leave...
We were there for lunch. Not very crowded. They have some tables blocked off for social distancing. Staffs are all wearing masks. Food was delicious. They bring out all these delicious small plates of different picked veggies, and Romain lettuce leaves to eat as appetizer. They also give refills on these items. Lunch menu has choices of 3 different combos, some with rice or noodles at $17.00 The next 2 combos are with a choice if soups and 6 different entrees. These combos are $22.00 and $27.00. The staff was super attentive, they explained each dish to me. Over all a delicious experience.
I love this restaurant. The beef bibimbap is my go to dish and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is calm and inviting.
Stopped in here for a quick date night dinner. Food was really good (had the prime rib beef and chicken BBQ dishes) and not too expensive considering the sides and portions you get. Our waitress (Abigail) was the BEST waitress we have ever had at a restaurant. She was so kind and super friendly...she made the meal 100% better for us.
This is my favorite Korean restaurant in the world. The side dishes are absolutely delicious. I been eating in this restaurant for couple years and every time I had an unforgettable experience. The best dish I love is the kalbi which is my favorite steak. Also you have to try their seafood BBQ, it come with everything lobster, shrimp, mussels, octopus and scallops. The seafood is super fresh and the marinate house sauce is perfect.
Great restaurant with lots of options. The staff is very friendly and helpful in explaining how to order and put dishes together. If you get a barbecue table, it's a really fun experience. If you get a regular table, you have a lot of different dishes to choose from. Great selection of soups!
Easily one of the best places for authentic Korean BBQ in all of Suffolk County. The decor and interior is beautiful and the waiting staff is friendly and attentive. Food quality is excellent and the side dishes with meals are bountiful. Great place!
Food is excellent, service is just as good. Love the tables with the grill. We would eat here everyday. Never had a bad meal!! Asking questions is a good thing and they never make us feel stuipd for not knowing something. Thank you to the owners and staff!!
This place is a hit or miss for me. The food is amazing however every time I go the service trys to rip me off. I usually order the BBQ for myself which included rice and a few bowls of sides. I came in with 5 other people all spending 30+ dollars on BBQ and they bring out only one portion of the sides as if only one person ordered the BBQ. I asked for more and the response was "oh you all share" They also tried to not bring the rice until I asked where it was and they "all of a sudden" remembered. Don't ruin such a great place by being so cheap! Also every time I order BBQ the portion of meat is different. Sometimes a good amount and other noticeably less.
We were actually heading somewhere else for dinner but decided to come to Ssambap after I was craving Korean food . Wow 🤩. The food and service were amazing 😉. Even with a 8month old . The place was clean and love the ambiance. I would definitely come back and recommend it to everyone. The kimchi was delicious by the way and I ordered some to go . Forgot to add that Abby our server was excellent- she explained about the food and what type of sauces were good with either fish and meat .
I enjoy going here. The service is great, staff is very friendly. Their choices of meat for the bbq is awesome and worth the price. They also abide by social distancing and have tables separated from one another. Overall it's a great spot.
The service was excellent, very attentive and polite. I'd recommend this place. I'm not a huge Korean bbq go-er so I can't comment on how they rank in terms of Korean Bbq, but in terms of overall taste and good quality. Definitely 5 stars from me. Also the Korean rice beer Makku was pretty awesome. It's a sweet beer with an interesting consistency, I think it really tired the experience together.
It was my first time having Korean BBQ and it was a lot of fun. We sat at a table with a grill. I highly recommend the Bulgogi. It's more like an event than other restaurants that rush you. We went with a group of 6, I recommend a reservation. Staff was excellent! I am definitely going back!
What an amazing experience with KBBQ. I've been to a few places in the 5 boroughs but never in Suffolk, and this place exceeded my expectations. The meat was fresh, the seasonings were flavorful, the imported drink selection was vast, and the service was top-notch. Our waiter cooked the food perfectly to our liking and made some great conversation. I would recommend coming here with at least 4 people. That way, you can order a big selection and try a little of everything.
I wish I could give more stars! I didn’t get the name of one of the Korean waitresses but if you remember me, you wrote “your energy ”❤️ and were so nice. We left early because I was tired and had to take our orders to go. She was so thoughtful, packed us side dishes, and said we could rest here as long as we wanted. Also, all the staff there seem so friendly and kind. Food is excellent too ^^ Thank you for being you, We will we be back soon!
Actually one of the best places I've ever been too, food was delicious, service was amazing, the waiter chatted about some of the topics our group had been discussing while he cooked the food and it was just super enjoyable.
Went with family server was attentive food was amazing price wasn't bad at all
Really never write reviews but was completely blown away by their food. Everything tasted so authentic! Normally travel to Flushing for my Korean fix, not no more!
Wow! This restaurant blew me away. I thought it’d be whitewashed and lower quality but my expectations were exceeded. They had a nice check in system where you can wait in your car and see what party you are in line. The bbq menu was delicious I highly recommend. Our waiter was outstanding. The prices are extremely fair for great quality food. This place is better than a lot of restaurants in Queens!
Delicious food, friendly, attentive staff, and appealing atmosphere. It is intimate and classy enough for a dinner date, as well as a great place to go with friends or family. The menu is very accessible for less adventurous tastes, while having a variety of items for those who do enjoy trying new things. I look forward to exploring more of their offerings-- going here has become rather addictive!
My family and I have been here plenty of times, but yesterday we ordered to go food for my mom's birthday. They forgot a few items, so she called them up and they were so sincerely apologetic! They offered to deliver the food to us (which we said yes to) and the person on the phone, was the same person to deliver the food. We believe he was the owner but we weren't sure. It was very clear that they care about their guests. It was so nice to see that they treat all guests with the same amazing service, whether those dining in or ordering to go. Absolutely amazing and we can't wait to come back!
Just took my family out for my Sons 16th birthday. It was the family’s first time at a Korean BBQ restaurant and we loved it. We made a reservation for 5pm on a Sunday evening and were seated right away. Our waitress was exceptional(wish I got her name). We were served our appetizers and condiments and our entree’s were cooked up at the table by our waitress. Everything was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this fine establishment to all that wants to experience fine food a reasonable prices. 5 stars out of 5 for the food and the service. My family will definitely be back.
My fiance and I come here so much it seems most of the staff remembers us 😅. We have never been disappointed and it is by far our favorite restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing with options for everyone and the entire staff is lovely. Anytime we bring friends even the picky ones they love it everytime and now come here to eat too. You won't be disappointed!
The best Korean restaurant in the area. There are so many dishes you should try! Personally I loved their Jjampong(spicy seafood noodle soup). Broth was so deep and flavorful, and just a bit spicy so doesn't burn your mouth! BBq was fun and great portion for my group. Side dishes were all tasty and the staffs were so nice! Cant wait to visit again.
I visited and had a beautiful experience. My daughter brought me to this place. She has come several times. We have experienced various Korean bbq's. This is a nice surprise. Simple nice and relaxed place. Food: very good. Customer service: very good. Cleanliness: all restaurant very clean. Prices: fair. I will return.
We came here for Mother’s Day celebration a day before Mother’s Day. Our server was really nice. She gives us more side dishes. It’s just too bad that you only get one batch of meat for the bbq for 5 of us. We bought the combo2, it was still good over all. I like their japchae here so I order it to go. Our server went all the way to the other store where we bought some drinks to give me my to go bag. That was really nice of her!
I've been coming here for the last 10 years and it NEVER disappoints. The service is always great and the food is always delicious. The best part is that you don't have to cook the food yourself! The servers do it for you, and they are always very attentive. By far my favorite Korean BBQ spot!
Absolutely phenomenal Korean food. My wife is Korean and we've eaten at many places and this is our favorite (and the best in eastern long island). 1) Kalbi is mouth watering. Spicy pork is a great non-bbq entree. All the Korean dishes are authentic and good. 2) Banchan side dishes excellent. I recommend the steamed egg side dish. 3) The servers have always been nice and I've been there 6+ times.
It is always a pleasure to eat here. We like to have our food served in the hot stone bowls, where your food cooks as you eat it. (remember to keep stirring, or the rice will burn and stick to the bottom of the bowl before you can eat it!) I believe it a good indicator of high quality Korean food when you see Korean patrons eating beside you. (we're not Korean)
If you’re in the mood for meat packed with flavor, come here !! Very nice and clean establishment with amazing customer service! All the staff are super informative if you have never had Korean BBQ before this is a great place to start. I recommend the marinated meats so you get all the elements of the flavor from their marinade (cause it’s the best part)!
Never been to Korean BBQ before, went with a few friends who had been here before. We had the BBQ, grill is in the middle of the table, had pork and beef that we cooked ourselves with a little help from the waiter. Everything was fresh and tasty. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the food and helped us to enjoy a great lunch.
Very casual, but bring an appetite!! The food is amazing and the portions are good!! You have to try everything that goes with the BBQ selection. This is my son's favorite place and he can eat, thanks to teenager metabolism. He does leave pretty full. So many choices apart of the BBQ selection. Choose a table with or without a grill, depending on what you want. Never a rush to finish, the staff are great, friendly and accommodating. Drink choices, both alcoholic and non, are perfect. If you have never tried Korean BBQ, I wholeheartedly recommend this place!
Admittedly, I was skeptical when I first came here with some friends, as this was the first time I ever ate at a Korean BBQ. However, Ssambap gave me the best first impression humanly possible. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great, and the food was also amazing! All in all, it was a great experience, and I will definitely be returning.
I went here after discovering this place back when I went to Stony Brook University over a decade ago. The decor and vibe is still immaculate and service is on point. I decided on the $32 Lunch combo going with the Yook Gae Jang & Bulgogi. Mmmm very on point. Soup was flavorful and bulgogi was spiced and flavored correctly paired with the side dishes. I would definitely recommend this place again. As well if you are a SBU student, definitely try this place out.
I have been here maybe 3-4 times till now. Every time I come to Stony Brook, I visit this place. The price is perfect. Staffs are really nice. Food is authentic. Like other Korean restaurants you will get a lot of complementary side dishes and soups as well with unlimited refills. The vibe is good with free parking as well.
The food isn't cheap, but for good reason. Great quality food, amazing service, everyone's super friendly, big portions on most of the main dishes other then the BBQ. 10/10 would recommend
Had an absolute amaze time. My friend and I ordered bbq beef and pork belly which was excellent! The side dishes were all authentic too and the kimchi pancakes were so delish!!! We had soju and our waiter was so awesome to teach us more about Korean table etiquette and traditions. I’ll definitely go back!
I love the food herso much. The experience is fun too, especially because you can grill your own food on the table grill! I love going here on dates with my boyfriend. This time I ordered the kimchi pajun/pancake appetizer, beef mandu appetizer, bulgogi (marinated beef) entree(comes with white rice and a lot of sides to complete it), and the steamed egg appetizer (I like to pair it with my rice and grilled meat). Kimchi pajun is super flavorful and CRISPY! Comes with a nice tangy sauce. Beef mandu was pretty good, not outstanding but certainly not bad. Beef bulgogi is my favorite part—10/10 as usual, absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. Steamed egg…very good at first but at the bottom of the dish I noticed a strange gasoline flavor? Like maybe it was torched? I’m not sure. But I would still get it again. The food comes with a bunch of sides that come out in the beginning, I think they’re meant to be eaten with the grilled foods. All the sides are delicious, I only skip the fish cakes because I don’t personally enjoy seafood. Sides included: kimchi, broccoli, potato salad, radish slices, bean sprouts, shredded greens in soy sauce(scallions? I’m not sure), cucumber, lettuce leaves if you want to make wraps, and a sauce for the grilled meat. It’s a little spicy. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the bulgogi! It also came with mushrooms, carrots, and onions. I highly recommend going here, it’s a little bit pricey but very worth it!!!
We recently dined at this Korean BBQ restaurant and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, perfect for a fun night out. The variety of combo options they offered was impressive, and the staff was attentive in helping us with the grilling process. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the side dishes complemented the meal perfectly. The prices were very reasonable! Can’t wait to come back.
My favorite thing to get is the soon doo boo with white rice. It’s a soup with soft tofu and vegetables, a little spicy, but very flavorful and I absolutely love the texture of the soft tofu. It comes with all the side dishes of which I like the broccoli, bean sprouts, kimchi, and potato. The bibimbap was also very good, with bulgogi(beef) and the house sesame dressing. Our waitress was nice and got everything we needed very quickly.
The Best Korean Restaurant in all of Suffolk County. The owner John is great. We have been going here since they opened. This place is located in a Shopping Center right off Nesconsett Highway in Suffolk County. There is plenty of parking. Wheelchair parking available as well as a wheelchair accessible entrance. Food is great and the Staff is very accommodating. Nobody rushes you out. Many Asian patrons, so what does that tell you? Food is authentic. Clean facilities with Public Restrooms. Credit cards accepted. Highly recommended...
One of the best places for date day. My wife and I love Korean food. We never do the Korean BBQ part really, but the Ssambap and the Bibimbap are excellent. I also really love the kimchi stew. The place is always super clean and there's always great service. There are even fish tanks in the back of the restaurant. Definitely try this place out.
The food was great. They can cook it for you in case you don't want to and it's really tasty. Portions are greeat for small groups and the overall experience was one of my favorites. Definitely would go back and the service was very good. Better suited for smaller groups I feel of 6 or less optimally.
For my first time doing “Korean BBQ” (still not what that means) I was nervous, but I swear this was one of the most fun and most delicious dinners I’ve had in a while!!!! The food was very fresh, plenty of it, and cooking it yourself at the table was a fun little touch. It’s not cheap, so be prepared, but it is definitely worth it. It takes a serious meal to put me in a food coma, and almost 12 hours later I’m still stuffed.
The food was awsome, no question about it. The servers were nice too. The only thing that bothered me was that the entire time i was there the servers were constantly passing the table and just messing with the knob for the grill, one server would come up and turn the heat down, another would come, turn it up, and every time it happened it ruined my mood a little I have never been anywhere where the servers did this and I thought it was really strange. Just let use cook how we want, it's part of the experience.
Very enjoyable experience. If you never tried it try it out. I am sure you will very much enjoy it. Soju is very enjoyable to drink with friends while eating here. The beef is amazing here highly recommend it. Next best I would have to say is the pork belly thin slices. Also the little dishes they bring with broccoli, cucumber, and all that is refillable. I asked for almost 4 refills. Very delicious food.
I like this place. Not one of the best experiences tonight but not the worst. I would give it 3.5 stars. I came here twice before and those times were better. The staff seemed more attentive then. But everyone is entitled to a bad night. Other than that, where else can you play with fire and food at the same time? Korean BBQ is great. We came with another couple. We had the short ribs and the prime rib. The order came to about 150 with the tip. Only three of had drinks. It isn't a cheap night out by any stretch but worth it if you want to go out and talk while you wait for the for to get ready. After the meal some came over to ask us about dessert. We asked them to give us a five minutes to think about it. About 15 minutes went by no one came back. I walked up to register asked for the check and we left.. Actually walked to the Vietnamese place next door (Bambu) for coffee and dessert
Nice experience, 4 of us had dinner with BBQ. Reservations are not accepted here unless you're a party of 8. , We ordered various BBQ meats, chicken and rice bowls. Service was good, the food tasted good as well. The restaurant was empty at 6PM but was full at 7pm... It's definitely not an inexpensive restaurant... Bill was a bit more than $200 with tip for 4 people including a few drinks... The experience wasn't groundbreaking so we probably won't visit again but rather try somewhere different next time .
My first time at Korean BBQ. Been wanting to try this for a while. I don have alot of experience with it, but I had a wonderful time here this evening. We started with some Hot Sake, which was mediocre, then had some makku, which we had a few of, delicious. However that's just a canned drink. So as for the restaurant, the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. Nice atmosphere as well. The space was very clean, and they are very covid compliant. I had the chicken wing appetizer, was amazing. Wife had shumai, which was also delicious. I.had the marinated beef short ribs. Thought it was amazing and we learned how to eat korean bbq. Wife had the chicken and regretted it, not because it was bad, no it was good but the short ribs we just so amazing in comparison. For dessert, the green tea tiramisu was amazing as well. (We both had the same) when you want to try something different, give this place a try. You won't regret it. Visit #2 4/2/22 - still awesome, food was great. Didn't want to wait for a grill table this time but I wasn't disappointed. Visit #3 5/20/22 - food still good, service this visit though was not good. Appetizers never came out, then finally they were brought out with dinner after we asked bout them, cold and dried out. Dinner food was good though. Noone came for drink refills... Felt very ignored. Hopefully it's just a fluke, I like this place.
Food is very good but a little pricey. Service is good overall we did not get our rice with our food initially and had to ask for it again. Atmosphere is fine some of the tables are a little worn down and the chairs could use an upgrade to something a little more comfortable. Overall I would recommend this place you will not be disappointed.
First time having Korean BBQ. I went with my family and tried one of the combos. It came with a beef, pork and chicken preparation, cooked seperstely in the center of the table. It included an egg casserole which was interesting, an onion pancake and various side dishes that could be eaten on their own or right the main course. I think the beef tasted good, but was a bit tough. The pork was more tender and so was the chicken, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall a nice and filling meal for three people to share.
Went here yesterday for lunch with a couple of friends, and to say the food was good would be an overstatement. Combined, we got 4 meals which we shared, the donkatsu, the fried rice, and like this ‘spicy’ chicken thing that either came from the $20 or $27 meal deal. And dumplings as appetizers*. The donkatsu was at best average, nothing amazing but it was still pretty good, especially the sauce but the salad that came along with it looked bad and tasted awful as well (thousand island dressing I assume). The fried rice was good for the most part aside from lacking flavor…please add salt or more seasoning in the future. And the dumplings were also alright, being soft and pan fried. On the other hand, the spicy chicken thing (I don’t recall the name) was quite bad. Bill came out to $87 roughly.
We came here with my stepdaughter. It’s one of her favorite restaurants and we’re here to celebrate her birthday lunch. The place is huge. We could choose a table for 3 at the barbecue table. We ordered the fluffy egg custard. I love this! Then some chicken wings with hot Korean spice. Side vegetable was very good! Good but spicy! Since my stepdaughter likes Galbi or Bulgogi, we ordered that. They win in marination. We also had onions and mushrooms to go with that. Of course, I had the most onions, mushrooms, and side vegetables. This time, I had my dish with beans and wild rice, which was pretty good. Kimchi wasn’t the best here, but other dishes were okay. Good service. Very nice experience.
The food at this place was good, but it definitely lacked that certain ambiance that you'll find at a slightly higher quality Korean BBQ restaurant. Felt more like sitting in a cheap Chinese buffet. Otherwise, the food tasted good, and the service was fine. If you're looking for a fancy dinner you might want to skip it, but for a quick bite when you're in the mood it's great.
Food was ok , when you go to pay in the front desk the service will staring you
First time here for our anniversary. Short wait time for a Saturday at 6. While the food was good the waitress was not. Although pleasant, we felt we missed out on the overall experience with our waitress after hearing other waiters. She did not explain much and when we went to order one of the specials we were informed those meal package specials were no longer available... I feel like we should have been told that from the beginning not after we already decided on what we were going to order. She over cooked our meat which for $150 (with tip) meal should not have happened and she also forgot our Saki.... I believe we will be back and hopefully our waitress or waiter will do the food justice. Or we not be returning.....
I would've given Ssambap a four if their prices weren't so RIDICULOUSLY high. They completely take advantage of the fact that they're one of the only Korean BBQ places out in Suffolk and I think that's kind of crappy. Also, the host was kind of rude. However, the food IS good. I tried quite the selection of plates, and everything from their appetizers through their desserts was actually really delicious. The environment is definitely nice, and I would go again if they lowered their prices, which just isn't worth it.
It was “okay.” I’m grateful there’s atleast a KBBQ in the area, but it’s subpar compared to all the city places. If I had to describe the food, it’s like washed down kbbq, the quality of the meat is supermarket, the flavors are mellowed out, steamed egg had a ton of msg in it and worst part is that costs about the same as more genuine kbbq in the city. Likely won’t come back here
The only Korean restaurant near Stony Brook as far as I know. When I went in, I could even see the smoke in the air. I hope they can solve it in the future. My favorite Korean food is Soon Doo Boo and that is why I visit here. They provide a small dish of soon doo boo for $17 (double of the price of BCD Soon Tofu Kit) . It is a bit expensive and that is why I seldom visit here. Good thing is that they provide 6 Banchan (the small dishes usually provides in a Korean restaurant) and you can have free refill. They also have the BBQ option.
Placed an order for delivery through Uber eats, the restaurant got the order wrong. Sent dishes we didn’t order and missed the main short ribs. The kimchi was subpar, other reviews says otherwise. Maybe if they were actually good I caught them on a bad night. Korean meal cravings met with a huge disappointment for me.
My wife and I have been here a 3 times once to get KBBQ, another to just sit at a table and get there other food and a third because we forgot how bad the service was. Food was okay nothing crazy we get KBBQ all the time in flushing and is great but then you come here and it’s not as good but it’s 25% more expensive. Service has been horrible every time we came here, mainly because we have to flag down our waiter every single time you want some thing, they don’t bother to check up on the tables that are seated. You age. To sit there for like 15min for them to just bring your water and drinks over. Even when it’s not as busy.
I love Korean food and I always take my friends and family to experience the food every chance I get. But I’ve never been to any Korean restaurant before where I felt completely ripped off. I came in with 8 people spending 30+ dollars for each of the BBQ. Two pieces of pork belly about 4 inches long and an inch and half width and that’s about $26. And that was just the pork belly. Same for the other orders (beef, chicken, ducks, etc.) the portions were so small that I had to put an extra order twice. For $30+, it’s not worth it. The tip was 20% which is fine by me, but the portion of food is not worth going to this restaurant. I get that they are the only Korean restaurant in town, but for $30+, no one should be leaving the restaurant feeling hungry.
Beef bibimbap was missing the beef. It was too burnt at the bottom. It's supposed to be crispy golden brown, not a bitter black char, and the vegetables were flavorless. Good service, though.
Edited review 2023: The service of this place has seemingly gone downhill. The Food is great still, and worth coming to. But the most recent two times the wait staff has been less than stellar, and it wasn't even busy. Expect to tell the staff multiple times for seemingly simple requests. Large spans of time where they ignore you, just walking by, and ignore requests for things like more lettuce. I really used to love this place, but I can't say it's been the same experience since post-covid times. If they fixed the wait staff problem it would be great!
The prices are outrageous. $120 for bbq for four and not only did the meat lack any flavor, it was fatty and definitely nowhere near enough for four adults. Best part about it was the whole grain rice. Comparing it to NYC BBQ and maybe that's my issue, but nowhere even near the quality, quantity or cost of what we are used to. First and last time.
I really wanted to like this place but I just never had good food here. If you're Korean, you can tell the quality & authenticity taste is 2/10. Not sure who the chef is, but they need to really learn how to re-make Korean food. Kimchi was way overly fermented sour, Japchae was done in a odd overly greasy Chinese-style, and their soups are just mediocre.. The waiters are not attentive at all, and would have been great if they would have paid more attention to tables.
Ssambap is the only Korean restaurant in the neighborhood. Taking that into consideration it's not bad. But if you know K-food......and are willing to travel to the city then this is leaves much to be desired. The food is ok. Meat is ok. Not prime meat. The BBQ side dishes are not the freshest. The Kimchi is older. The portions are ok.....the price....not worth for the food. The management is not the best. I have been there a few times. A few times I have done take out and there were mistakes in the order. They try to fix it but kept on messing up. All in all think the best way to approach it is don't expect too much and you'll be ok.
I wonder if the previous chef is gone, almost all the food taste different from the first time which was about 2 months ago. The seafood pancake has no seafood, the rice tastes like old rice, the bulgogi is shredded like minced meat. The only thing that tastes good is the kalbi. Overall, I would not come back. The side dishes portions are okay, not great,m. You are need to up your game, otherwise I’m afraid the business will sink within 6 months.
We used to come here all the time. But the last 3-4 times we came, the quality has gone down. The meats taste off, flavors are off, chewy, soups come out cold. Pancakes come out different every time. Sometimes crispy sometimes too thick. Losing standards. And prices went up. Sad for pricing to go up and quality to go down. We’re not coming back anymore
The only Korean restaurant where they don't bring out the complimentary side dishes until the appetizers are done being consumed. Atleast this is what I was told when I politely inquired when I saw the pancake was out but the side dishes weren't. This is a very new rule at this place and the only korean restaurant with this rule. Pretty distasteful on their part. I'm a regular here and munching on the side dishes first thing is something that I always look forward to at any Korean restaurant. Guess the service is just going bad in general. 20 mins of eating apps and the side dishes were still not out. They need to learn something about restaurant service from existing successful korean restaurants. I'm definitely not coming back here again and I'm pretty sure they could care less since there's hardly any competition.
I’ve been ordering this tofu soup for years and have always appreciated the quality. However, I’ve noticed that the portion size has steadily decreased. My most recent order barely filled the container — mostly broth with very little tofu or ingredients. I understand rising costs, but the value no longer feels fair compared to what it used to be. I hope you can consider returning to the more generous portions that built customer loyalty. Thank you for your attention.
Exceptionally poor food. We ordered kimchi fried rice, bibimbap chicken and rice sprint rolls. Not one thing tasted good. I had to literally ask for a bowl of soy sauce to add it to bibimbap to make it palatable. I had such high hopes - completely dashed. They also charge 3% extra by default for using credit cards. Spent 85 dollars including tip.
Loved using to come here a lot but recently the portion size for bbq became 3x less, being able to feed not even 1 person for $38. I asked a waiter on what happened and she said the quality went up. The pieces they give were so small too. Another table got an even smaller plate. So disappointing won’t come back :(
I don't get how this restaurant has 4.4 stars. The food was bad, the proportion was so small. Soup is just salty, no flavor. Banchan was soso, kimchi taste super old. Took 30min to get food ready. And the price is not reasonable. Super disappointed. I think this restaurant got 4.4 only bc servers were nice. Never going back
The worst experience of my life! My son took me and his girlfriend to this restaurant because he lives in nyc and has gone to the Korean restaurant out there and loved it. We thought we would try this place. Well. We were the first customers there and we waited forever for our food. Other customers came, ate and left and our food didn’t come. I was ready to leave, then our soup came and we didn’t get any bowls to serve ourselves. We were there for 2 1/2 hours. Never again will I go back!!!
Sorry, last time I came it was good. This time, seafood pancake had 2 pieces of seafood in it. We told our server and he grabbed the manager. Manager told us that's just the way it is, and pointed to the one piece of seafood on the pancake. As far as I'm aware seafood pancake typically features more than a lone piece of seafood. Is this the new style? Tofu soup was soso, a few months ago it was much better. Would not get the seafood pancake, and would not come back because of the apathetic attitude towards paying customers.
We didn't enjoy the food. Pricey too for what you get. The meat arrived to table looking like a pile of dog food. It was so thinly sliced that it over cooked. I had a noodle stir fry with stringy over cooked chicken and no flavor to the dish. We all left hungry.
The side dishes were clearly old and dry. The broccoli was yellow, the bean sprouts were dark, and the kimchi was dried out! Everything looked like it had been sitting out for a long time. When the galbi arrived, the server put it on a grill that wasn’t heating properly. The meat took a very long time just to get warm and was cooking more like it was boiling rather than grilling. When I pointed this out, he said the grill wasn’t working well and moved us to another table. After that, he never came back to cook the meat for us. Because I had already complained about both the side dishes and the grill, I ended up cooking the meat myself. The server didn’t even turn the grill off, and I had to ask another waiter to do it. Horrible food and the worst service! Never again.
The worst experience ever! No servers were around we sat down and waited to order 20 minutes later we get water. The service is incredibly slow. I asked for more kimchi, and they completely ignored us. There were 6 tables next to us that was so dirty, but the servers decide to all go in the kitchen for some reason. NO ONE WAS around usually would see a Spanish person in the front answer phones, but he was not even around. I try to like this place, but it is poorly managed. The server did end up cleaning the 6 tables all at once I think they pool their tips, so the waitress didn't want to clean all the tables by herself. She had the whole team clean up the 6 tables it was 4 servers which didn't make any sense at all. There were still other customers in other sections that needed to be helped. After getting the food i swear 15 minutes later 3 servers came up to us to ask us if we were done. I couldn't believe it; they didn't even want to help us in the beginning and now they want to rush us out of here! I am never coming back I hope they open a JBBQ in town so this place can be history!!!
