Opinions de La Marina Stradone Sant'agostino
My girlfriend suggested this place. It was a lovely spot. Everyone was friendly and greeted us when we walked in. The restaurant has a nice view of the water and the boats. The bread was hot and fresh. We ordered the breaded shrimp for an appetizer and it was really good. The plates of pasta were huge and so flavorful. I recommend the farfalle with chicken and prosciutto in cream sauce. My girlfriend got the fettuccine with pesto and it had a really nice fresh flavor. All in all definitely worth the trip down to the Marina!
We enjoyed a leisurely lunch with a beautiful harbor view, delicious calamari, and a great glass of Chardonnay that's hard to beat. The homemade marinara and outstanding bread added a lovely touch, making the meal even more enjoyable. It’s always great to have attentive service as well, and it seems like Miguel really enhanced our experience. If you're looking to recommend this place to others or perhaps remember it for a future visit, it sounds like it would satisfy anyone looking for a delightful meal by the water!
We live in Playa Vista and wanted to explore the Marina in our “back yard.” WHAT A HIDDEN GEM! Places on the water front can be such tourist traps. We were totally surprised by everything about this place! Food was fresh and well portioned. Staff was very genuine and hospital. And the VIEW! Come for the a sunset dinner, you won’t regret it :)
Had a lovely lunch at this beautiful location in the Fisherman's Village. The food was delicious and the restaurant overlooked the yatchs and the docks. The server was kind and catered to our needs in a courteous way.
Great waterside views inside and out. Cozy intimate yet casual romantic place ..lovely views good rustic food. No grated parm...just solid hearty perfectly-cooked pasta and subtle creme-based sauces. Great strong coffee, nice tiramisu. Service so friendly, great eye contact, and let us take our time with pouring over menu. And we closed down the place, no one rushed us.
First time back since the change of owners and new name. Same wonderful Marina location so that is very nice. Indoor and outdoor seating. The marina gets chilly at night but heaters are available. Miguel took care of us and it was a great meal and lovely setting. We were there 3 hours so they certainly don't rush you. First the bread is made there and it is amazing. So fresh, great crust and tasty. We started with calamari which we all thought was perfect. Not over battered. The red dipping sauce was very flavorful. Our pasta dishes were pesto gnocchi, spaghetti pomodoro, spicy pasta shell seafood special and the ever popular pasta alla ruota, cheese wheel pasta. Each dish was different and very tasty. I would order them again, as well as many others from the menu. Salads were nice but a little light on the dressing, but I was the only one who thought that. Nice selection of wine, bottles and by the glass. We opted for the Sicilian bottle whoch complemented all our entrees. Desert was the Bomba. A hard chocolate covered mound of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream. Perfect ending. Definitely worth a return. Parking is $2 for 2 hours.
We are visiting town and I wanted to celebrate my husband’s birthday with friends and family. I’m glad I picked this place. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. It was pretty cold outside and they had heaters on that made the night pretty cozy. We will definitely be back!
The staff were so friendly that we felt very welcome. The kids in our group enjoyed interacting with our server who made them feel important, too. The adults in the group enjoyed the wine. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food! Lamb shanks were perfectly cooked and the wine sauce complimented the lamb superbly. The tagliatelle with bolognese was like it was an heirloom nonna recipe. The flavor was rich and the al dente tagliatelle was the perfect vessel for the sauce. The mussels/shrimp was great and the sauce was one you definitely don't want to miss - dip that bread in the flavorful sauce. The special for today, a halibut filet, had great texture and was not dry at all. Polpetti were a good size and cooked just right. Seasoning was rich and exactly what you'd expect handmade meatballs to taste like in an Italian kitchen. Dessert of tiramisu and creme brulee were a nice way to wrap up the meal. All in all a beautiful time with loved ones sharing fantastic food with a beautiful sunset over the marina. We will be back for sure.
My favorite Italian restaurant! I lived in Italy for a while and this place really reminds me of the Italian atmosphere. The food is very tasty, the atmosphere is very pleasant, especially at sunset, the service is at a very good level. I don't know how many times I've said "very", but it's worth it. Highly recommend! P.s. There is enough space for parking.
Sapori will always be my FAVORITE Italian place to go!!! Taste is guaranteed. Vibe is right on point. But more so, again, friendliness of the owner is something that you will definitely want to experience. The boss man is the coolest and friendliest person you can ever meet! His thick Italian accent first gets you think “okay he knows what he’s talking about here.” Then he will take time to explain all of dishes and recommend dishes! And, most importantly, if you are a wine lover, this place is THE PLACE to go. All of their wine choices are top notch classics and you will not be disappointed! My colleague who spent his almost entire life in Europe as a business man visited here with me. He saw the list. And he fell in love with Sapori. MUST VISIT AT ALL COST!!!
Cozy, intimate and dock side . Food? The picture speaks for its self !!!!!! 4 cheese gnocchi
This place is great, service was excellent and food was even better. Owner is friendly and working hard to survive during these trying times. I will certainly be back and elevate it to be one of my regular eating spots. Pricing is reasonable and portion sizes are just right.
Food is well presented, not high priced, and service is good. Avoid going there on weekends, they're very busy. Make sure to pay for automated parking before heading to your table. I had full course meal with my wife, including wine, appetizer dessert and coffee. I especially loved the eggplant appetizer called BABY MELANZANE ALLA PARMIGIANA. I had the salmon well done and asked for extra roasted potatoes. The food was a bit saltier, but I didn't mine.

Beautiful and greet Customer Service, we came here after the turn down at whiskey red, (horrible customer service so don’t even bother going over there ) anyways they agreed with a smiling immediately sat down, which is quite interesting because this restaurant is a lot more busy than the other one

Love this place! For me a hidden gem but the locals nearby must know. All the food I’ve tried is the best Italian I’ve had in a while in LA. Service is always amazing and accommodating
Locals and tourist alike will love La Marina. It is so close to a 5 star, but I just can't go there yet. The place in the Fisherman's Village in Marina Del Rey. Parking is easy, but for a fee. It is set in the middle of the Village. The Village itself is old now, but there are still a few great places to eat and the walk along the water is lovely. The stores for the most part are now closed and the place needs to be remolded to bring back the tourist crowd, but there is other things to do there. It is never too hot since it is right next to the Marina with boats and sea lions and the smell of the sea. La Marina is super cute. You can dine inside or out. The inside is super clean. It is however very loud and it was not crowded. The place just has terrible acoustics. Now, they can't afford to fix this issue and I don't blame them, but if you want more quiet just eat outside on their great patio. The place is so well maintained and there are great views of the boardwalk and Marina. The service is very nice, but for us this time, it was really slow. But the server was super kind and listed all the specials for us. Listen to the specials because we had one and it was just fantastic. We ordered quite a few items. Their starter fried calamari and shrimp was battered lightly and tasted great. They also have the best bread with olive oil for you to pour. We ate it all. It was that good. My husband had a wonderful salad, ever so crispy and fresh as well as their special filet mignon with fresh mashed potatoes. It was cooked perfectly. It is covered with a good sauce and fresh mushrooms. He loved it and I had to remind him to save a small piece for our dogs. He also loved his fresh unsweetened ice tea. He was happy as a clam. I had the four cheese homemade gnocchi and once I was able to eat it, I loved it. The problem is it came out boiling, I mean literally boiling. I could not touch it. We finally had to remove it from the tray it came in and put it on the plate to try to get it to cool. Now, hot is fine, but had I put that in my mouth I would have been very badly burned. My husband could not touch it either. It took 20 minutes to be eatable. My husband did not want to eat without me, but I insisted he not let his food get cold so he ate and all his food was gone and we were still waiting for this to stop boiling. I was not pleased. Once I was able to eat it, I loved the flavor, it had a tad too much cheese, but overall it was very good. I won't have it again however. They have a very nice wine list. Their coffee is super. We will give them another go because there are other things on the menu that also looked great. Have fun.
Order for pick up and they had the food hot and ready just as I walked in the door. Very quick and everything was perfect. They didn’t have a molten lava cake but they were able to sub a chocolate mousse instead.
This was a cute spot for lunch. The restaurant was completely empty so it must not be popular with locals for some reason. I was hoping for a better patio with views of the water, but it was very closed in. The indoor part of the restaurant was also very warm and stuffy. The food was really good though, I recommend the truffle mushroom ravioli. The pesto fettuccine was okay. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
It was better than I expected. They are so extremely busy, that the host seating you is a little curt and adamant about seating. The patio does not have enough shade.. I was with an elderly couple who couldn't stop complaining about the sun (one of them had skin cancer), so I had to mention that. There were other restaurants in the vicinity.. but being that they're elderly, they needed the restaurant directly near the waterbus exit. Food was great. And the cabernet that the waiter picked for me was extremely good.

The only reason this review is not a one star is because of the wonderful service our server provided as well as the delicious food. However, I would like to point out the extremely unprofessional and rude behavior of the host. We had a reservation but waited for 45 minutes due to the restaurant overbooking themselves. They used rain as an excuse even though it was forecasted from days ago. When we asked him an estimate on our table he said “you can go wait out there”. Extremely rude gentleman who made this restaurant lose a customer.

I came here in June on a Monday. The place was dead at 6pm which should have been a dead give away to go somewhere else. We were the only people in the entire restaurant during dinner rush which was weird, I’m not from LA (was only visiting) so maybe people eat dinner later. The free bread starter was actually really good. The Caesar salad was disgusting and tasted like water with pepper and cheese on top. The dressing was non existent or not made well in the salad. I left about 90% of the salad untouched because it was so bad. For my meal, I got a seafood pasta and it was the worst pasta I’ve ever had a restaurant. The sauce tasted like Campbells tomato soup, the sea food all tasted rancid. The mussels were rubbery, the calamari was tough. Nothing about the dish was good. The picture is how I left the dish because it was so awful, I mainly ate the noodles. My friends dish was also pretty awful and his asparagus was barely cooked.
I wanted to celebrate my achievement of getting my DMV license. My mom's said there was a good. Italian in Fisherman Village. Sapori Italian Restaurant. We went. We had a delicious artichoke and garlic bulb. I ordered the Fettuccine al something. My mom ordered the seafood risotto. I didn't like mine. I called the waiter over politely told him I didn't like it. He said " we don't return food." I said " excuse me? Can you make an exception?" He said "no" and shook his head. " I said for 24.00 I would think you would exchange it for something I liked instead " he gave me a face. The other guests were flabbergasted as well. He ultimately obliged after I refused anything else. Be warned never come here. I could've been a big time food blogger or critic. Smh
