10 out of 10 for me! Place is such a vibe! First, you get a serving of maduros chips with 2 sauces that are so delicious. My friend and I had beef, spinach and mushrooms empenadas as appetizers, AMAZING! She had the paella for her main meal and I went for the lamb and Brussels sprouts. When I tell you! I usually do NOT like brussels sprouts. Our waiter convinced me, and IM GLAD I listened lol. They sautéed them in a sweet savory sauce, DELICIOUS! I don't remember the name of the desert we had (I posted the pic) but we did not really like it. Portions are small FYI. Overall, we were higly satisfied!
Amazing time for my birthday, the food and atmosphere was good but the service was top notch. My daughter brought me here for my birthday and she wanted a mariachi which they did not have but they improvised with an amazing singer Pedro. Thank you for making my day special 💕
First time visit, lunch. Atmosphere: Nice area, restaurant near a man-made pond with ducks and small turtles and a large bridge that crossed the pond. The great area to take photos. Customer Service: My best friend and I were greeting promptly at the door. The host was very nice. Our waiter, Jay, served us great customer service the entire visit. The on-duty manager, Mrs. Olga stopped by our table to make sure that we were happy with the service. A BIG YES!!! The food: I ordered the Chicken Azteca: grilled chicken breast topped with a savory mixture of spinach, mushrooms, red bell peppers, and chipotle cream, served with jasmine rice. This dish was a 2 thumbs up me. The chicken empanadas were very good, oh that cilantro dipping sauce was the best. The margaritas were also great!
This was our first time at Churrascos in Sugar Land, and the food was so good. Everything we tried was full of flavor and honestly worth the hype. What really made the whole experience stand out was our waiter, Javier. He was polite, helpful, and gave us outstanding customer service from start to finish. He made us feel welcomed and taken care of the entire time. Because of him, we’ll definitely be returning. He truly made our dining experience wonderful.
A superb choice for an excellent meal in Sugar Land (other locations in the greater Houston area). South American/Pan-Latin Food is delicious (Churrascos steak is awesome). Service and atmosphere are excellent. Having been to this location many times, I for one believe it should see more traffic (near Whole Foods Market corner of HW59/I69 and Hwy 6). Enjoy !
We celebrated a family birthday at Churrascos and had an amazing experience. The food was delicious. The birthday celebration itself was fantastic and felt very special. The service was outstanding, with the waiter and waitress being exceptionally kind, attentive and patient with our large group. Special shout out to Leo and Alvero for taking such great care of us and making the memorable celebration. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend Churrascos for any family gathering or celebration
Went to the Rob Thomas concert at the Smart Financial Center on August 30th and did the same thing in 2019. We ate at Churrascos and it never disappoints. Good is delicious. Steaks are amazing. Sides were perfect and it’s a great value for your money. Francisco and his staff took care of us as if we were family. They made us feel welcomed and they went above and beyond in their attentiveness. Looking forward to going back. Always great food and service. Highly recommend this location. They also offer beautiful outdoor seating overlooking a lake. Perfect setting for a date night.
What a pretty Sunday Brunch Experience. You can come with family, girls brunch, graduation brunch or just because you want to brunch! I have found my new place. This is a buffet brunch. You can expect an omelette station, crepe station, waffle station, carving station, and so many other hot items to select from. There's no way I could remember all the food options. I am excited to get dressed up and go back. The restaurant sits near a body of water and a walking trail. Great spot for pictures. This place is definitely a vibe. I recommended either getting there when they open or make sure you make a reservation. This is a must try!!
Churrascos Sugarland exceeded my expectations!! We are trying a different restaurant every weekend for HRW (Houston Restaurant Week) and Churrascos was first on our list and I’m glad we tried it! Our server, Skylar, was awesome!! He was VERY attentive to our needs and gave us the impression that he enjoys his job and that he wanted to be there. And the food, OMG!! From the complimentary plantation chips and salsa/chimichurri to the dessert; all was delicious!! We ordered empanadas and calamari for our first course; paella and gammas al ajillo (pan grilled shrimp) for our second course; flan and FRUITY PEBBLES TRES LECHES for the 3rd course!!!! Whoever came up with infusing lemon grass into tres leches and adding an inside layer of blueberries and then soaking it in sweet vanilla cream was GENIUS!!! It tasted just like fruity pebbles!!! I was told that this dessert will only be around until Restaurant Week is over sooooo I’m going back before it’s too late🥰🥰!
My husband and I came here Saturday night to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. My parents used to go to Churrascos when they were dating, so it was cool to go to a place my parents love so much. Our waiter was so nice, funny, and attentive. When he heard it was our anniversary, he had a complimentary tres leches brought out and the manager brought us complimentary champagne. All of our food was just amazing. I can’t say enough good things. We will be back!
We had dinner here tonight to celebrate my Moms birthday and the food and service was impeccable! Leo and Angel were our servers and they did an amazing job! We’ve been here several times and their food is delicious! Service was even better! I think this place is the best restaurant in all of Sugar Land! This place is way better than Perry’s steakhouse in Sugar Land!! Highly recommend this place! Oh and their version of the bananas foster dessert was amazing!!
We came here for a company holiday lunch. The reserved/ private section was just ok. It wasn't a completely private room, it was just a sectioned off area with room dividing curtains. So it was still very loud and hard to hear and talk with out whole group. We has a set menu to choose from. 2 appetizer options, 3 entree options, and 2 dessert options. We were also served plantain chips with 2 sauces as an appetizer.
Food was pretty good but not amazing. Unfortunately, my steak was kinda rubbery. So difficult to chew. Certain things though were good. The area looks great and looked tge outside lake. One big issue is the yelling many customers do on repeat. So do get ready of it. Expected 5/5, but is more of a 4/5.
May 27th was a long awaited celebration (congrats to my beautiful little King Ru, I love you and Im super proud of your success <3) and our original reservation, that was confirmed online, via email & by phone suddenly didn't exist; literally at the door to a closed building, INSANE to say the least to another resturant HIGHLY recommended so we scrambled to find another fine dining nearby. Let me just say GOOGLE is your friend :) 3 issues: For whatever reason, the resturants phone number is not listed on Google, which is odd and we had to do another digging to get the phone number ONLY to be greeted by staff whom answered the phone politely, didn't know the resturants address/crossing street....(somehow there's a few designated to answer the phones that don't know where they are working) :/ that's the 2nd issue. Know the address, crossing streets, nearest landmark, etc. If you're answering company phone lines! GOOGLE is our friend and that's exactly what she said, "Google us". ;@/ wow, just wow, the response is the 3rd issue hence 4 stars overall. We were nearby just wanted & needed a small gudiance (cross street) to locate the seemingly hidden spot, from our direction. Once we arrived, WE were greeted warmly and seated immediately in a gorgeous spot of the restaurant. FOOD: A++ amazing, the wait wasn't too long and we had the plaintains & salsa to keep us comfortable until our food arrived. (In resturant) SERVICE: From arrival, during and the exiting made us feel special and FORGET the (NOT) "confirmed" reservation of the other resturant, I thought was confirmed (the feeling pampered of the new restaurant) I thought, WHY wasn't this our first choice? I have to add before I forget, our waiter did accommodate a meal change, I truly appreciate it. :) ATMOSPHERE: (Not too busy time almost to 7pm). Did I saw, feeling pampered already? Well that says it all. I can't think of our waiters name however, he made our visit alongside the food WORTH coming back. I will also add the outside scereny is beautiful and definitely adds to the overall visit. If you haven't checked this place out, stop on by.....remember Google is your friend. Lol
I went here for a quick prom dinner. I got the fried plantain shrimp, an appetizer, and was really good! I loved it and honestly I would get it everytime I come! I also got the tres leches cake was in my opinion was too sweet and not that soft but they had warmed peach cake (i believe) and that was amazing! They were fairly busy for a Saturday evening but my friends and I were a little confused where the entrance was. The staff was nice, nothing too out of the ordinary but very accommodating when we were not sure what dessert to order
Went a few weeks ago. Service was great. Food was ok. There was a bad sewer smell once you walk in that left a bad impression for me, especially for the area. I got the fried fish tacos and there and felt that it was a bit underwhelming for my taste buds. Even with the lemon (or maybe lime?) and their sauce they put, something felt missing. The plantain chips were good (these are given free upon seating).
Never in my life have I left a restaurant review. Even as someone who frequently travels the US and ocassionally to other countries, never have I felt compelled to comment on even my most positive or negative experiences. But this one is personal. I was a frequent client of the Churrascos on River Oaks, the one which sadly closed down a few months ago. Our family would frequently order take out from them as while it may be pricey, the food was high quality and the portion of the family pack of 6 would last us 2-3 days - this includes a fair amount of the chips, salad, entrees & accompanying sauces. They were also accommodating with any special requests we had, such as replacing the tub of chimichurri sauce for the plantain chips with a tub of the salsa roja, as we prefer that one. And if there was a minor mistake with the order such as forgetting an item, they would fix it no problem. With that location closing down, I started ordering take out from here. However, both times I have been extremely disappointed with the amount of food given to us. The family pack comes with a full tin of salad and yet we are only given 4 tiny cups of dressing (pictured below) which is but a fraction of what we think is appropriate for this much food. Maybe you like a dry salad, and hey I'm not out here drenching mine either, but surely you can see the ratio here is not exactly preferable for most people. The entrees could also use 1-2 more pieces of food for it to really feel like it's worth the price. But the most egregious example of this stinginess is this tiny bag of plantain chips (also pictured). This is a family pack meant for 6 people which we are paying $130 for (that includes tax) and yet they have the audacity to give us a tiny bag of chips which is comparable to a common Lays bag worth of potato chips. Only after bringing this up, and still being told more chips is extra money, was I given a large bag fit for this meal. Can't say the same about being able to get extra sauce, we just had to make do with the two tiny cups we were given. Frankly I think practices like this are insulting for the amount that we are paying. I can't imagine this restaurant going into the red if they were appropriately generous with the amount of sides they gave out. Do note that I still give this place a high rating for its food quality as it is great, same as the location we would visit before. And we would like to support a business like it that serves high quality food. But until this location learns to respect its customers, I will continue to miss the Churrascos on River Oaks.
