This is a really good place to grab a nice dinner. We go around once a month and have never had any issues here. They offer great vegan and vegetarian options which is a huge plus in my book. Their tofu is so good and avocado rolls are always fresh. Their vegetable lo mein is something that I always order with my dinner. Their prices aren't too expensive and they offer outside sitting. They also allow you to call ahead for pick up, which is great for when you're heading home after work during the week.
This is a more formal restaurant with a laid back feel staff & customers are very friendly sushi quality is fresh and the ramen is amazing the eel itself was something I'd return back for I also got the sunset roll which feels like a crisp day at the beach
Very happy with my choice today. Large plate. The sauce is light and delicious. I forget exactly what this is called but it has scallops, shrimp mushrooms and mixed veggies with rice on the side and I think it's a ginger sauce! Very good. It's rare to have something so fresh and good from a restaurant. I also have many dietary restrictions and it was very easy to find something safe to eat!
The nicest waitstaff! The food was delicious and it’s nice that they have a smaller menu and focus on what they know best instead of having a large menu of all kinds of different Asian cuisine. I had the Dragon & Phoenix which was a combination of sweet and spicy. Highly recommend!
You must set in Ms. Lola’s section!! She is such an amazing fun person! Our food was delicious but her service made everything a million times better! Y’all have a real jem!!
My wife and I and one of our friends had lunch there and it was really delicious. The on the border sushi was amazing. The salmon was a large portion (8 oz.) a little overcooked, really good. Lo mien noodles were great. The spring rolls were excellent. Really enjoyed our visit today. I’m sure we will be back.
1st time here, and the food and service was great. Leena took great care of us, and the sushi, general Tso's, and sesame chicken were all fantastic. The big boss bear and Georgia peach drinks were great as well. Definitely will be back on my next trip, noth.
Our entire group agreed this was our FAVORITE EATERY IN NORTH CAROLINA!!! The outside seating is so peaceful with trees, birds singing, and flowers. Shady umbrellas were a nice touch. The food was phenomenal, the two of our group who ordered sesame chicken both said It was the best they've ever had. My ahi nachos and sushi roll were delicious, everything was clearly very fresh from the fish to the mango and avocado. Service was great in the beginning, server was super friendly. But they are understaffed like most places so getting the check took much longer than expected. Thankfully we were not in a rush. Would 100% come back next time we visit the area
Came to charlotte for work. Found this amazing place. Make sure to try rita the dragon.
A beautiful place to come and enjoy solo or with a friend or two! The food is fantastic! I highly recommend the Moscow Mule 😉 4/27/25 I went there today for lunch. Eating sushi here does not disappoint. Nether does their Spring rolls!
I believe recipes must be consistently followed because when you find your favorite ...it is always on point. Delicious.
8 of us for Mother’s Day! Our waitress and meals were amazing! We had everything from sushi to entrees, and everything was delicious and reasonably priced!
The food was amazing! Great service and atmosphere too! Sat at the bar! Inviting space! Highly recommend!
Went to Sabi for the first time for a company Christmas party thinking it would be sushi only. Boy was I wrong! Very extensive menu. Great appetizers. Stopped back today for Pad Thai. Awesome!
1/9/2021 stopped here for lunch. Ordered the ahi tuna nachos which was delicious along with the LKN roll, the Man overboard roll, crazy tuna roll. They were all delicious. I thought the Man Overboard roll was a bit small for the price. My total bill was $56. We had water to drink with our food! I thought it was reasonably priced! I would recommend a stop here for lunch or dinner! The Tuna nachos appetizer was awesome!!!
Sabi is an excellent Asian bistro. We sat on the patio which had a relaxing atmosphere and wonderful umbrella dining area. A cocktail to start the evening was followed by two wonderful flavored entrees. The bulgogi was served on a sizzling plate and was plenty of food. My bulgogi photo was smeared so I could not use it. The scallion lamb dish was also a nice portion with excellent flavor and tender lamb. We were pleased with both entrees and even saw others we will try next visit.
I'm new in this area. Coming from LA was desperately looking for a good sushi place, the search is over Dani has excellent sushi with fresh fish, good rolls, thick cut sashimi, which can be slightly thinner, served with smiling faces. I love this place. P.s. try poke nachos they were refreshing.
First timers and I am extraordinarily impressed at the level of service and quality of food. Lola is a engaging server who took excellent care of us. She recommended the Korean Ribs, and they were out of this world, all of the food was. Crazy good pot stickers!!! Lola made our experience perfect start to finish, and when I asked to meet the manager Lat, he was just as awesome. Hope I spelled that correctly. I highly recommend, and ask for Lola, you won't be disappointed.
We arrived at 9:45 pm, the service and food were excellent! Everything was delicious, and my scallops were cooked perfectly. The portions were so big I have at least two more meals from it, and my husband has a snack for tomorrow. Atmosphere was upbeat but chill. Nice wine and beer selection.
Met family there to celebrate a graduate. We got the private dining room which you can reserve if you have a large enough party. Our server was great and very helpful. The food was wonderful. Highly recommend.
Ordered last night for the first tine from this place. The food was DELICIOUS and nice portions. Lots of shrimp in my orders. We had the sushi, rock shrimp, walnut shrimp and mei fun. It was all great. 😊
Great place to eat! The food is delicious. The service is amazing! This is also a great place where you can get a good view of a game without the tumultuous atmosphere of a regular sports bar. Would highly recommend giving it a try.
Sushi was fresh and super tasty (gotta try the Wildcat Roll!!!) great prices. Got the sesame chicken for my very picky eater and he loved it. Our server MK was very kind and service was quick. Will definitely come again!
Good sushi and meals and shit. I'd bring a could of friends with me to dig into some fish and what not. The server was really sweet, I know she had a name but I don't remember it. Big shout out.
I recently dined here and had a fantastic experience overall. The food was super delicious! We started with lettuce wraps and pot stickers as appetizers, which were both flavorful and satisfying. For the main course, we ordered the spicy General Tso's chicken and sesame chicken, paired with some lo mein on the side. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We also tried a wildcat roll and a dragon roll, which were amazing as well. I have no complaints about the food; it was all top-notch. Our waitress was really nice and attentive, which added to the positive experience. The only downside was that the food took a while to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait. One suggestion for improvement would be to add something to the bottom of the chairs to minimize the noise when they move. It can get a bit loud, which detracts from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious Asian cuisine!
Really promising new sushi spot! The atmosphere is fantastic! I loved that even the bar area has comfortable booths. We started with the Wagyu beef appetizer. While the beef itself seemed good, the sauce was a bit overpowering, to the point where it could have been any tender beef. On the other hand, the miso soup was perfectly balanced: subtle, warm, and comforting. For the main, I had the Sashimi Deluxe, and the quality and portion sizes of the fish were amazing! One small hiccup was that one piece wasn't cut all the way through, but I was able to finish it easily. Understandable for a new restaurant still ironing out kinks. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great experience, and I'm excited to come back and try the rolls! It's a full bar but I went with beer. The beer selection were all bottles but it looks like they have a good selection of imported beer as well as local. The bartender stated that the beer changes as well while keeping a few staples.
We came for the sushi. Had the calamari as an appetizer. Fresh, light, fried, spicy sauce. 4 orders of rolls. Lovely atmosphere. the server was top notch, looking forward to coming back for more tastings.
It's been a long time since we ate at Sabi. We had a group of 8 for lunch today and they had our many sushi dishes out quickly and it was really good. Reasonable prices for good food. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because of a problem with a couple glasses of water. We've ordered takeout several times and it has always been really good. We'll be back.
We've been here a few times and the food is great. We've had both sushi and Chinese over the last few visits. They weren't busy when we arrived and it took multiple minutes for someone to say hi to us and seat us. Our waitress was very kind and attentive though. The drinks and food came out quick and by the time we left they were completely full.
We love the variety of this place. So many menu options from Japanese to Thai and Chinese. We got into town late and grabbed our food to-go. Hostess was very impressive taking phone orders, taking payments and managing all the pickups. Was really impressed by their timeliness considering how busy it was for a Friday night. Portions are generous and could be split into two moderate size meals when paired with rice. Spring rolls were great but they’re fried instead of in soft rice paper. Hibachi chicken was a little too soupy but the flavor was good. We will definitely be back.
We went for dinner to Sabi Asian Bistro. The food was good. I loved that they were able to substitute any entree with tofu and vegetables. The appetizers took very long to come. Not a place to try when you are really hungry.
I believe maybe we went on an off day. Service was very slow and chaotic. Food was good and they were helpful with the gluten allergy. Definitely recommend the lettuce wraps with GF sauce! The sake is yummy too. It was a really good time.
I love the food at Sabi, it is consistently good. We visited on Sunday evening and the service wasn’t great but thankfully the food saved the visit. Our server’s answer was “no problem” to everything even after we would say Thank you, she would say no problem. We had to ask about the glass of wine I ordered two times before she went to the bartender to inquire about it. It was not super busy, so there shouldn’t have been a reason for the delay, it just seemed like the bartender didn’t pay attention to the order being placed. It was over ten minutes before I received the wine. My husband had to ask for a refill on his drink, that’s not terrible, but the details matter. Management really needs to teach the servers how to speak to their customers and take care of them. No problem is not an acceptable response. Takeout is the best option, in my opinion.
Sushi, stirfry, spicy red curry, and salmon are all delicious. Great lunch or dinner spot. Good value.
The food was ok. I had the ramen and it wasn’t spectacular. The other dishes I tried and all was better. Server was friendly and helpful. It was clean and had nice lighting and decors. Might come back to try again.
Underwhelmed. Sushi was okay at best but seemed a little off on taste and texture. Won ton soup seemed pretty flat and lacking in flavor. I did have a great server; she was friendly and attentive. And it looks like there's outdoor seating which is probably great when it's warm out. Maybe some of the other stuff on the menu is better - I've only been here once - but for sushi I'd look elsewhere.
The food was good but I have had better asian food our waiter was really nice and attentive. It was cool though.
Our ladies church group had made reservations online to dine at Sabi. One of the members eats there regularly and thought it would be a great place for us to go. At the time that she made reservations, there was supposed to be 20 of us. There was nothing on the website that stated that we would be put into a separate room and that there was a minimum spend amount. When we arrived the restaurant was not full or crowded, it was a very small amount of people inside. It was a nasty, rainy Thursday evening so I am sure a lot of people did not want to get out. One of our group was actually involved in a car accident on her way to meet the group and of course ended up not being able to attend. Our server was pleasant and asked if everyone had arrived that was coming and we told her yes so she proceeded to take our orders. Several people also ordered to go orders to take home with them. Some of us requested straws, and after around 15 minutes of waiting one of our group saw some across the room and got them for everyone. Our food and drinks were very good and we all were talking about wanting to come back and bring our families with us. When it came time to get our bills to pay, the server came in and apologized and told us that since we did not have the minimum spend that we would also be charged and extra $80. The person that had made the online reservation went to talk to the manager to let him know that no where on their website did it mention a minimum order. He said that was their policy and it was too bad. He did offer to give her a gift card for the amount of extra that was expected to be paid. He was informed that we did not ask for the separate room and he said he had no place else to put us-there were 11 of is in attendance. It was pointed out to him that the restaurant was not even full at all and there was a long table near the back that we would have fit at with no problems. He still held adamant about his rule which seemed to be made up on the spot. When we received our checks a 20% gratuity had already been added to all of them, which was fine, however even the gift card for the extra $80 had a gratuity added so the gift card was actually for $71. This whole experience put a definite damper on the evening and now this establishment has lost 11 potential families that would have been customers for the future, plus all of their friends which will be warned about the shady way they do business.
This was my 2nd time going but my first time ordering the pad thai. Be aware that the pad thai does not have the ground peanuts added like it traditionally does. The ground peanuts in pad thai are an important part of the dish to me and when there weren't any I asked the waitress about them and she informed me that the restaurant was peanuts free. I can appreciate that safety concern but I wish that was specified in the dish description because I probably wouldn't have gotten it. I had never had pad thai without the peanuts and I don't prefer it that way. Otherwise, my family enjoyed their food and the waitress was great.
I have always been a fan of their food, service is normally fine nothing to rave over. If you are eating with a toddler and order food for them make sure the waitress knows you are serious about it. We put in sushi for my husband and I and a salmon for our toddler after waiting on it we finally check in and she stated “ oh yall were serious.”
Food is not good and there was hair in it. I got sushi and pad Thai... or thats what theyre calling it any way . Its just red colored flat noodles and a side of not in but a side of bean sprouts . Id be happy to donate 20$ so you call buy real pad Thai from another restaurant so you know what it looks like and tastes like and maybe could even reverse engineer how its made. Serving this to people and accepting money for what ever it is that you gave me and naming it pad thai is theivery. No real complaints on the sushi nothing to write home about but not bad .
So sad. Food is always good. But they overcharge without informing of price on upcharges. And then don't make it right. Lost our business sadly.
The flavor of the sushi rolls is just not there. I found them bland. I think it's possibly the rice they use. Their menu is also lacking--Many are cream cheese based or have fried toppings. Prefer other Lake Norman sushi restaurants more.
The reviews were right about surprising charges. We asked for club soda, I’ve never been charged for club soda and she charged it as a soft drink. 😂 Read the reviews before going to a restaurant.
Ordered delivery thru Uber Eats. No problem with prep and delivery time. I was really looking forward to Dragon & Phoenix but I also ordered white rice to go with it and there was no rice in the sealed bag I got. So it's probably sitting in the restaurant somewhere. Very disappointed. Shrimp were large and veggies were fresh. The spice level was fine. But Shrimp curry (and the sauce) and General Tso's chicken would have been so much better over rice. Sushi combo and salad were great. Big portion and fish tasted fresh. Salad was also fresh tasting and a large portion. This item was complete and not missing anything.
We have been getting take out from Sabi for a couple years now. Something has definitely changed and it’s not that good anymore. The last few times we have gotten home our order wasn’t even right. We ordered extra spicy on one entre and it had no flavor at all, the broccoli was barely cooked at all. And a sushi roll was completely unrolled and a mess. Not at all like it used to be. Hopefully it’s better in the restaurant.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Worst sushi I’ve had in the Lake Norman area. I ordered the Philly roll from Sabi Asian Bistro and was extremely disappointed. The smoked salmon was cut with the grain, not against it, making it tough, chewy, and completely unappetizing. The texture ruined the entire roll—it was hard to even bite through. For a place that markets itself as a sushi spot, this was unacceptable. I’ve had far better quality at grocery store sushi counters. Won’t order again EVER PERIOD.
Think twice about taking a group here. Food and service were excellent but we were seated in a room that had a $350 min spend with no notice. We tried to negotiate with the manager but he was not willing to flex at all. A gift card for the difference was required to be purchased. Most of the people in the party were first timers to Sabi and are now hesitant to return.
Waited to order my food for 30 minutes. my family usually loves this restaurant. we are regulars but are just really disappointed in the service today. we sat for 20 minutes before we got drinks, waited at least 30 before we could order food, then our food came out cold. this was clearly an issue with our server who didn’t seem to be in much of a rush. I want to give benefit of the doubt and maybe today sabi was just understaffed, but still very disappointed.
Beyond stressful experience eating at Sabi. The man that’s in charge was wonderful but we ate at the bar and the bartender went out of her way to not even look at us or give us the time of day. Seems pretty obvious that the blonde bartender is all about the tip only. Not the first time time that this has happened. It was so awkward that we will not be back.
