have been wanting to try cap’t loui for a while and it did not disappoint. food was delicious and our server was amazing and accommodating! will definitely come back
If you want good seafood place and a nice atmosphere along with great services, this is the place. Thank you manager Alex and others for making the experience worthwhile.
Food is amazing. One of the best seafood boils I've had. It can get a little cold inside in the winter time. But other than that, the service and food were great!
Great experience at Loui’s today. The seafood was fresh and flavorful. The house sauce had just the right kick and was absolutely delicious. Great service and cool vibe. We will definitely be back!
The flavor is soooo good, the food great. the staff is amazing, Ian is so nice and kind I wish the management would be more caring about ambiance, the lights are sooo bright that it hurts, I have passed by so many times and never try it because is so bright, it looks like a cafeteria. Everything else is amazing it would be nice if they fixed the sound system and the lighting. I guarantee it would have more business.
My first time here at so far the Best Seafoods Restaurant in Queens my neighborhood. Everything is perfect specially the lemon flavors on seafood. Will be back again definitely and I will recommended to all my friends. MABUHAY🇵🇭
The seafood boil was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. “I want to specifically recognize Alex Who took care of our table.Alex was amazing! He was so attentive, polite, and made sure we had everything we needed. His service really made our seafood boil experience even better. Thank you, Alex!”
This place has great service and food. We had the seafood boil and it did not disappoint. After finishing, the only things we regret is not getting another pound and leaving. $1 dollar oysters during happy hour.
I love the seafood here! The flavor is amazing, and their levels of spiciness are perfect. I always order spicy at other seafood boil places, but here they really get it right — the heat, the seasoning, everything. It’s become my go-to spot for seafood boil.
my partner & i went for the lunch special and everything was so delish omg! i’m not crazy on seafood so i got chicken tenders and fries and that was really good too, but i tried some of my partner’s seafood and it was just all soooo good. we will definitely come back! 😄
First time and food was amazing. Atmosphere was calm, peaceful, beautiful, and the food arrived fast. We are very happy! Definitely will be back :)
Truly truly truly amazing. The sauce the side dishes the atmosphere the service the tables the chairs the napkins the sprite the cup the floor the walls. Everything was outstanding and don’t forget to mention the food. Our waitress was extremely kind and offered us many options whenever we struggled to find something that could calm our hunger.
Me and my friend want to try seafood boil but no idea what to eat, Mrs.Susmita (staff) made the great choice for us. If you're craving a flavorful seafood boil, this is a solid choice. The seafood is fresh, and the seasoning options are generous and tasty. The casual, lively atmosphere makes it perfect for a fun, A great spot for seafood lovers looking for a hearty meal!
Great Seafood boil in the neighborhood! Also, don’t miss out on their piping hot soups, they are super tasty too! That Captain Loui sauce is like crack, I want to slather it over everything, it’s so delicious. Def a messy but great meal.
The service was amazing, they were very attentive towards us and the food was absolutely amazing and good quality. I got the seafood boil and it was very fresh and flavorful.
CAP’T LOUI SEA FOOD was exceptional, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our server (susmita) made perfect recommendations, and every detail was spot-on. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and arrived promptly. A truly memorable dining experienc we will definitely be back!
Susmita was very attentive, great service. The food was delicious, specifically the sausages and shrimp. I will be definitely coming back for more. The restaurant was very nice and cozy.
Audrey, our server, was amazing! She constantly made sure we had everything we needed at our table. It’s always great coming back to our favorite seafood boil spot , we’ll definitely be back! :)
One of our favorite go-to spots in the neighborhood! The turnaround is quick and food always turns out incredibly fresh, juicy, and flavorful. The service is great and our server was so friendly!
Excellent meal I highly recommend the snow crab, mussels and scallops. The service was great, Susmita was very helpful - highly attentive yet not overbearing. Great experience overall
My partner surprised me on my birthday 🎂 today with a marvelous and tasty boil at this establishment. We have been to others, but this by far surpasses expectations in service, atmosphere, location and most especially the food. We found the food to be fresh, tasty and delicious. Waitresses (Sasmita and Audrey) were attentive, warm, welcoming, respectful of our space and professional. I definitely recommend this restaurant and more visits will be made in the near future.
Tried Cap’t Loui in my neighborhood and was seriously impressed! The seafood boil was superb—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The garlic bread was crispy and buttery, and the garlic noodles were packed with flavor. Everything hit the spot. Definitely a new go-to for seafood cravings!
My fav seafood boil in NYC! Being from Atlanta it was hard to find a good seafood boil in NY so I was so happy to find one that rivals with the ones in the South. Amazing food and service! Been here a few times and will always come back!
Clean place with good service. We visited on a weekend afternoon and there was plenty of space. Food was good - just to note they use top neck clams if you order that option for the boil which can be chewy for little ones. Other than that, we were happy with our food. Garlic butter noods were a hit for our fam. Drinks are good and good options if you don’t want the seafood boil.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cap’t Loui never disappoints—fresh seafood, bold Cajun flavors, and generous portions every time. The sauces are rich, buttery, and perfectly spiced. Special shoutout to Audrey, who provided outstanding service—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Highly recommended for any seafood boil lover! 🦀🍤 We will keep coming back!
Food was great! The staff was amazing and attentive. If you need a solid seafood boil, I recommend coming here
Walking back from shopping for my last Christmas items, I happened to pass by a restaurant advertising $1.00 claims every Tuesday. Curious, I decided to go in and ask. The friendly staff member approached to seat me, thinking I was there to dine. He showed me the lunch menu, and I was already convinced to stay. I ordered the lunch special, which included claims shrimp, crawfish, Inna bag and an irresistible garlic noodles. Despite being only four months old, this restaurant shows great promise. Their delicious food, excellent service, and outstanding customer care suggest they will succeed. You deserve more than a 5 - rating Alex, the manager, is so nice. He checks on all the customers. Thank you, Cap’t Loui. I will be back! ❤️❤️❤️
Great food! The flavor is spot-on — rich, buttery, garlicky, you control the spice level. The shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked, the crab legs cracked easily and were sweet, calamari was fresh. Even the corn and potatoes were amazing, fully soaked with the spices so every bite had flavor. The portion sizes were generous without feeling overwhelming, and the whole experience felt fun and messy in the best way. If you like seafood boils, this place really checks every box. I’d happily go back.
I absolutely loved my visit to this seafood boil restaurant! I ordered two pounds of shrimp and crayfish, and everything was perfectly cooked — fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. The seasoning was amazing. I also loved that they give you a free side when you order two pounds or more — such a great deal! The corn and potatoes were soaked with all that rich sauce and tasted incredible. The staff were super friendly and checked in often to make sure everything was perfect. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to roll up your sleeves and just dig in.
I love how customizable the seafood boil is—you can really make it your own. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the whole experience feels inviting. Definitely recommend to others!
Superb! Captain Loui is amazing! This is the 4th time I’ve been here! The seafood is super fresh and full of flavor. I got the shrimp boil with calamari it was so good! The staff is super friendly, the place is clean, and the vibe is fun. Definitely coming back again!
Have visited other Cap't Loui locations and this one definitely has been the nicest overall. The vibe is great , the place looks really nice and the neighborhood is quite nice. The service and food were exactly what we've come to expect from Cap't Loui. Fresh, well seasoned and delicious. We will definitely visit this location again. Special shout out to our servers Audrey and Susmita for making my partner's birthday special!!!!
Finally a seafood boil in the neighborhood! I’m gonna get so fat. Had a good introduction last night. Got the hot Cajun seasoning. Was a nice bit of heat! The flavors are wonderful. Corn is corn. Nothing going on with it. Good New England clam chowder. Also nothing incredible but it’s what you want in a chowder. The menu is loyal to the Cajun theme with po boy sandwiches and some drinks served in a pouch. Prices seemed fair. Especially lunch specials.
Another gen in the neighborhood!! Recently opened, this place is a must go..! Tried some of their lunch specials (which was a steal) and let me tell you it was great. The french fries and the sweet potatoes were on point.. The place is really nice, clean and the service on point. Have to definitely go back and try their variety on the menu.
I had an amazing experience at Cap’t Loui Seafood Boil! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, perfect for enjoying a seafood feast. What really made our visit special was the outstanding service from Cho and Amy. Both of them were incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made sure we had everything we needed and checked in on us throughout the meal with genuine care. The food came out hot and full of flavor — the seasoning was spot on! I highly recommend Cap’t Loui if you're looking for delicious seafood and top-notch service. Thanks again to Cho and Amy for making our night memorable!
This was our 2nd time coming here on a Saturday, and the food hits every single time! Fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly that’s exactly why we keep coming back. Our server, Amy, was amazing, super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere is lively but still comfortable, perfect for enjoying a seafood feast. Capt Loui Seafood Boil never disappoints!
First time visiting this new restaurant that just opened up in Sunnyside. Don’t come here unless you don’t want to get your hands dirty (gloves are provided tho to help with that). We ordered the Boiler bag combo; headless shrimp, and muscles, with potatoes and corn included in the sauces. You get to choose your spice level. You get your very own cute bibs while you eat. Nice open space. Looking forward to seeing what this place will turn into. Looking forward to more drink options and the bar service. Will come again.
The ONLY reason I’m leaving a 5 Star review is literally the impeccable service from Ian. I follow this place on Instagram and have been so excited to come finally try this place since moving to Sunnyside recently. I came on Tuesday, for their $1.50 oysters and ended up ordering 2 dozen, great value! I ordered a bottle of wine after trying to order a martini, haha, bummer, no bar here, and NO BYOB… yikes. So $35 for a bottle of cheap Chardonnay, ok, that’s still pretty great value. (Just don’t come alone as a single woman) hopefully you have someone to share it with because they don’t sell wine by the glass here. Now, to the big order! I ordered 3 lbs of seafood… or did I? I’m a southerner, so I was looking forward to this seafood crawfish and seafood boil place since that’s my favorite, their competition is LITERALLY Nextdoor at the weirdly titled ‘Mad for Chicken’, that has the best fabulous seafood boils, tasty, and at great value. I say this because it took me awhile to come in here with the atmosphere from the streets looking in, always bright lights (like a cafeteria) and empty, if there is people, it’s usually small children in addition. Now that I finally came in, I love the soundtracks of music, all the best songs you want to sing along to! But let’s get to the food: I’m including a receipt and pictures of food. I ordered 3 lbs of seafood. I DEFINITELY DIDN'T RECEIVE 3 LBS OF SEAFOOD, BUT I CERTAINLY GOT THE BILL. $243.11 The King Crab that I am paying $115.47 for 1 lb. What is a good price for king crab per pound? As of 2024, the king crab price per pound typically ranges between $30 and $60, depending on the size, quality, and where it's purchased. These prices reflect the costs for the red king crab variety, which is the most commonly consumed and highly prized. My $1115.47 came out in shreds and at parts were so discolored; that is telling of EXPIRED OLD VERY OLD FROZEN KING CRAB, the only reason it could be that old is because not everyone comes in here and orders a pound of the ridiculously pricey crab, I did, and unfortunately it was a complete disappointment. I grew up on the gulf, so I hope you can understand my palate and love for seafood and its value is expert. I LIVE FOR SEAFOOD. Moving onto the half a pound of clams that only came with four in the bag! Again, FOUR CLAMS to equal half a pound! It was a bad note. The half a pound of scallops were absolutely incredible, thank goodness! Finally, I ordered 1 pound of crawfish. 🦞 They were so old and barely had any meat in them. They were shriveled up, and I can tell you that was not a whole pound of crawfish, not even close. I feel jipped and absolutely robbed by the greedy owners of this place. Next-door when I order at the Mad Chicken, I can have leftovers from this kind of order of 3 lbs of seafood!!! So I can tell you, I enjoyed what I enjoyed here, and I made it very thorough with my feedback and clarified what that was here, so now I know one day a week of when to come here and who to ask for and what to order. My total with $50 tip to the incredible IAN who should be working in a Michelin Star Restaurant, he’s superb! Total: $243.11 + Tip= 293.11 NEVER AGAIN. Management: DO BETTER! #Greed
This is a five star restaurant for seafood, I just picked up a seafood boil with shrimp. Wow- it’s super delicious, high quality and has amazing Capt Loui sauce; portion is generous, price is remarkable and service is outstanding. Special kudos to the twins, Aker and Oker for their exceptional attention to me. They were kind and helpful. I felt extremely valued when the menu was explained and my order was prepared promptly. I found this spot via a google search for the best seafood boil in Brooklyn. It exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to come back with my family and friends,
First time dining at Cap’t Loui Seafood Boil and I’m impressed! 🦀🦐🦪 The seafood was super fresh, the seasoning was flavorful and really soaked in, especially their signature sauce—it’s addictive. Service was friendly and the atmosphere felt cozy, perfect for family or friends. The garlic bread was also a hit! Definitely coming back whenever I crave seafood boil.”
Friend who tried Cap’t Loui in Cape Cod highly recommended it when she saw it open in Sunnyside, Queens. Prices are good, so you don’t have to wait to treat yourself only on special occasions. The Capt’n Loui sauce boil was really good and 1 pound per person was very filling. The garlic noodles as a side was delicious, and we tried it dipped in the boil’s sauce, too. Service was spectacular. Minh Kha gave us his favorites as suggestions and cleaned up after us well. All of my favorite pop tunes were playing as well. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back.
Stopped by Cap't Loui Seafood Boil in Sunnyside and tried the shrimp po boy. It was ok nothing special, but not bad either. The shrimp were decent and the sandwich did the job if you're craving something quick. The fries were a bit soggy, but they did have a nice lemon pepper flavor that helped. Overall, it's an average spot and fine for a casual bite if you're already in the area
The 🦞🦐🌽🥦 seafood boils with a mild Cajun flavor were spot-on. All the employees, including the manager Alex, were kind and attentive. The wide, high ceilings and spacious atmosphere made the experience well worth it for both the flavor and the vibe. I really like quiet atmosphere so I can have conversation with my friend.
It was our first time trying seafood boil and this place did not disappoint! Their house sauce was absolutely chef’s kiss along with everything else. And the staff here is truly wonderful! They made a slight mistake with our order and we ended up getting complimentary dessert from them! Many other restaurants I have been to do not even bother doing that so I was truly appreciative of them. 10/10 I recommend this place especially if it’s your first time!
the seafood was notably fresh and the ingredients were clean. The sides tasted great, especially the garlic noodles (kind of like a pasta), broccoli, fries, and sausage. There was a strong taste of turmeric which lent quite a bitter aftertaste--but it was just a testimony to the house made seasoning :)
First time coming to Cap't Loui's and Im not disappointed. I got the 1lb shrimp and 1lb clams (side of fries and garlic noodles) to share with my mother, and it was very flavorful and enough to have us both satisfied. Their seafood is market price so it can be a little pricy depending but I think overall it was pretty good. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the lemonade, it tasted a little bit too artificial. But other than that my experience was wonderful.
I was really excited to try the Capt Loui in Sunnyside since I used to love the Fort Lee location back when I lived in NJ—the food there was always super fresh. Now living in Sunnyside, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, the corn on the cob (see photo) was disappointing, the food lacked flavor, and the garlic in the sauce didn’t taste fresh. On the plus side, the service was great.
Wish I could’ve tried the food here but upon sitting down, we noticed it was way too cold for us to be able to eat comfortably. They offered a space heater and we saw some other customers with one at their table but we decided to take our business elsewhere instead. Hoping we can come back another time when they’ve resolved the heating issue.
This review is not written with the intention of harming any business, especially not businesses in my neighborhood. On the contrary, I hope it can be taken as an opportunity to improve. I understand how expensive everything has become — products, food, staff, maintenance, and rent. That said, I’m sharing my experience as it was. The place is large and when we arrived it was almost empty, with only a couple of tables occupied. Even so, we waited 30 to 40 minutes for our food to arrive. We ordered lobster and sandwiches. The lobster was very small, and the sandwiches were unfortunately bland and nothing special. The best part of the meal was definitely the fries. The service was average. For such a large place with very few customers, we expected more attention. It also started raining, so we stayed at the table longer, but no one came by to ask if we wanted to order anything else to make the wait more pleasant. I’m happy to see businesses grow in my area, but it’s also disappointing to notice that after COVID, customer service and food quality have declined in many restaurants. If you decide to visit, go with patience and be aware of the long waiting times. Hopefully this review helps the place improve, because the space and location are there — it’s just a matter of paying more attention to the details.
Way too cold in there, small portion of food and pretty expensive. I still left a good tip because the host was a nice guy.. otherwise I definetly won't be coming back lol
I recently visited this restaurant yesterday . My friend and I arrived and we were the only ones there . When we arrived we noticed they have had portable heaters due to no central heater . It was extremely cold to the point we had to rush to eat our food. I am very disappointed with the experience . It was soo cold we had to wear our coats while eating .
We were really looking forward to dining at this seafood restaurant after reading so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, we left very disappointed. We ordered one of the combo meals, which clearly stated it includes corn on the cob and potatoes. For our order, we chose broccoli as the side, along with 1 lb of headless shrimp, 1/2 lb of clams, and 1/2 lb of crawfish. Shortly after, the waiter came to inform us that they didn’t have enough clams and offered to replace them with more shrimp, which we were totally fine with. But when the food was served, things quickly went downhill. First of all, the corn and potato portions were laughable. We received half of a mini corn cob, literally smaller than my pinky finger, and half of a tiny potato – and I mean tiny. We politely asked the waiter if this was correct, and even he couldn’t hold back a smirk when he saw the portion. But then he said that’s how they always serve it – one potato and half a corn. When we asked again, pointing out that it wasn’t even a whole mini potato, he simply repeated that this was their standard. He didn’t offer to bring us another piece or make up for it in any way, which was really disappointing. We’re paying good money for seafood, and they’re cutting corners on potatoes and corn? That felt like a bad joke. From that moment on, the service felt off. The waiter avoided us, never checked in to ask if we needed drinks or anything else. We were polite the entire time, so this treatment felt even more disrespectful. It was like we were no longer welcome. As for the seafood itself – it didn’t meet expectations either. The shrimp were small, definitely not what 1 lb usually looks like. We’ve been traveling the East Coast from Key West to New York and had this exact type of dish multiple times, so we know what to expect in terms of portion size. Here, it felt more like a starter than a full meal. He had promised us 5–6 extra shrimp to make up for the missing clams but only brought 3 head-on shrimp, even though we ordered head-off shrimp. The 3 clams we did receive were actually tasty, but just 3 pieces is hardly anything. The broccoli was bland, completely unseasoned – not even a hint of salt. Now to the only positive note: the sauce. It was actually delicious, full of flavor and spice – but sadly, we had nothing to enjoy it with. The portions were so small, and the sides almost nonexistent, that the sauce ended up being wasted. After all of this, we even wanted to order some noodles to try to salvage the meal, but the waiter was nowhere to be found and clearly ignored us. At that point, we gave up. In the end, we shared our concerns with another server, as the original waiter never came back. Thankfully, she was kind and at least understood our frustration, but the damage was already done. We were truly looking forward to this meal, and sadly, we left disappointed – both in the food quality and the way we were treated. Not a place we would return to or recommend.
