Opinions de El Caminito Sunnyvale
This place never disappoints. It is perhaps the only good, proper sit-down Mexican restaurant within a 2-3 mile radius. Keep coming back here for the food. I’ve not seen it to be fully packed ever, neither during lunch nor dinner. The service isn’t the fastest but absolutely love everything that we order. Of course, I have no semblance to what “authentic” Mexican is, but the food is tasty, served hot, loaded with veggies. The house hot sauce is one of the best I’ve tried. Good amount of options for veggies. Veggie quesadilla is very tasty and filling. The Chile Relleno de Vegetales was good (it is deep fried in egg batter). Enchiladas Verdes is really good too. Chile en Nogada is very different, with fruits and nuts, enjoyable though. Overall, a place that consistently delivers.
I love this place! It’s the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever tried. I absolutely love the Swiss enchiladas—I could eat them every day and never get tired of them. My kids love coming here too. Plus, the service from Davy and andrea makes you fall in love with the place even more—they’re incredibly kind and attentive.
Been coming here for years and I always am impressed with everything! The food is great, the service is top notch, the atmosphere is always nice. It is not surprising that this restaurant has been a Sunnyvale success… they have it figured out to a science!
I ordered the two items combo with shredded beef tostados and chicken enchiladas. My honest first impression was that's a lot of food! And it tastes great too. The kitchen mistakenly sent out a chicken tostados instead of the beef one that I had ordered -- honest human mistake. The waitress was super nice about it and brought out a new beef tostados once I pointed it out. They even offered to replace the entire plate if I wanted that. Service was very fast.
I came to this restaurant on the recommendation of some friends, to my surprise there were wet burritos and the sauce that the waitress Andrea recommended was phenomenal, the touch of guacamole with the cream made each bite a delight. The place is very cozy, I loved this place.
Great nachos and friendly, prompt service. Thanks y’all!
I'm very good food. I got the tostada salad and it was like a super sized Taco salad. Almost too much for me to eat. The ingredients were well balanced and very well flavored.
Ordered the shredded beef tostado bowl. Enough leftover for another day. It tasted so good. My husband loved the menudo.
I got enchilada and tostada combo for $16. Best chicken enchilada I’ve had in a long while. Shredded beef tostada was fresh, hot and heaped with shredded lettuce. I’m already looking forward to getting this again. One note, the rice n beans were plentiful but slightly under seasoned.

It’s so hard to find a good authentic Mexican restaurant in Sunnyvale. This restaurant is owned and operated by a Mexican owner who really makes authentic Mexican dishes like how you would have it at home. I had enchiladas and my colleague had tacos. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants!
We have been coming to El Caminito for years, the food and service is always excellent. By far one of my favorite Mexican cuisine sit down restaurants. Great value, great food and we always leave happy! The owner Julian is super kind and friendly, he’s owned the restaurant for over 30 years…definitely a Sunnyvale gem!
Food was great. Service was even greater lm good place to go and enjoy some good Mexican food
We’ve been coming here for about ten years now and it’s a family favorite. The food is delicious and comforting. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is top notch! We always leave happy, full and with yummy leftovers for later. A family owned restaurant is a rare treat these days and this place is a treasure!

I love how chill this place is. I enjoyed my dinner in peace here. The food is not spectacular but not bad at all. It's a reliable source of peaceful Mexican dining.
I've been to El Caminito many times. This time was with my Dad. I had a 2 item combination, a chicken tostada and a cheese enchilada. They were good, as always. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the enchilada sauce was tasty. My Dad had carnitas and enjoyed every bite
Great selection of traditional mexican plates, but flavor is definitely not authentic. I had the enchiladas and they tasted a ok. Great for the area though! 3.5 stars/5

Very nice authentic Mexican food. I had been looking for Tacitos, but everything i found was over cooked, tortilla was too thick & not enough meat... until I found El Caminito! Awesome Tacitos! Great food. Now our whole family goes for dinners.

Heard many good things about this restaurant, so I went to check it out. But it wasn't as good as everyone said. First off I went between the lunch and dinner hours, so it wasn't busy, 2 other tables besides myself and one of those already had food. The waitress was slow to get me water and take my order. Being it was afternoon snack time I got the sampler appitizer and refried beans (frijoles). The ap had chicken wing drumettes, both chicken and beef taquitos, quesadillas, smashed avocados (aguacate) and sour cream. Very tasty. But the best thing was the frijoles. Made with pinto beans, which were delicious, like momma use to make. Now my children would love that they were covered with cheese; I on the other hand thought it was a bit too much. > So go for the food. I choose to overlook the service.

Some food was bland for mexican food. Enchilada sauce taste more italian than mexican.
Ordered the enchiladas trio. Pretty bland all around. The red sauce on the beef enchilada barely tasted like anything. The chicken had a very mild white sauce which honestly complimented the chicken well. And the cheese one had the thinnest of green sauce on it that was barely detectable. It was all, fine. But there are a billion Mexican restaurants here. So I'm having to judge on a harsher curve. Lots of much better places for the money. (Or cheaper)

When you go to a Mexican restaurant you have a basic expectation. Basic expectation to have nice nachos, but here even it was a disappointment. The sauce on one of the enchalada felt store bought and the taste was unbearable. Overall it was a bad experience and felt so bad spending my money here.
