Opinions de Wok’s On Express West El Camino Real
This place is pretty good. The portions are large for the price. There is a ton of variety, including veggies, beef, seafood, chicken and pork options. I went around 6 pm and none of the dishes were empty, they were constantly bringing out fresh food. The food is decent, better than Panda Express, and the workers were friendly and efficient. In regards to COVID-19 practices, all the employees were masked and gloved, customers were at least 6 feet apart, when I signed the receipt there was a jar for both sanitized and used pens.
They give you so much food! They're so nice and pile on the good stuff. I wish they had their sesame chicken in the express line, however I order it every time and it's always so fresh and delicious I can't fault them for not having it on the steam table. I was so glad when they were able to reopen and then the shutdown happened so we try and go as often as we can to help support and let them know how happy we are they are back!
Very nice people who work here, they are very generous with the servings. My father loves the soup, food is fresh and tastes amazing. We ordered party trays when we had people over and they loved it! It's a little pricey but that's ok.
Post-reopening update: Initial reviews after this place re-opened indicated that the food tasted subtly different. While I can corroborate this experience, in the time since its re-opened the taste has gone mostly back to normal. This place remains my favorite and signature Chinese Takeout place in Sunnyvale. The Salt and Pepper chicken is crack.
I used to live in the area and visit frequently, it’s the best Chinese take out ever. Great taste, and they pack in so much food. Now that I moved to the other side of the bay, my boyfriend and I still plan trips to come out here once in a while to get this as a treat.
Ordered twice from here between last month and recently both times orders delivered were hot, fresh and good sized portions for price. The only item none of us cared for was the sweet and sour soup and the lemon chicken was a bit chewy. Other than that the sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef, bbq fried rice, vegetable roll, and our favorite of them all the kung pao chicken were all delicious. I hope they maintain the quality and we will keep ordering from here.
Best Chinese combos for the price. Food is fresh, not salty and the little couple that runs it are adorable! They have 2 different kinds of rice... and chow mein in the stream table.... and they make these vermicelli noodles that are am amazing addition and a very tasty change from chow mein if you'd like to try something different. I hope the leave it to someone who will carry it on foot a long time.
Had the most amazing Chinese take out food tonight. The vegetable noodles were charred to perfection. The wok-hei was outta this world. The tofu was fried on the outside and so soft and moist on the inside. The green beans were perfectly tender-crisp and well-flavored. Even the simple, vegan vegetable fried rice was so tasty and chock full of veggies. Highly recommend!
This is a vegan-friendly place. However, things change so it’s always best to ask even after you read this review. I asked and got someone who seemed knowledgeable and answered immediately on what foods had animal products. However, the food is basically Panda Express. It’s not great, but neither is Panda Express’s food. It’s similar, though not identical to the mall/fast food chain, except more vegan friendly. The vegetables are not fried in animal products. The vegetable fried rice (which does not include eggs) is also vegan (according to them). You can get about three meals out of the “3 items” if you’re a medium-to-small sized portion person. There are more options than you’d imagine going in.
Wok's On Express is an absolute gem! The food portions were huge, and the flavors were spot on. A special shout out to the lovely Aunty who gave me a complimentary side and made the experience even better. She had that warm, grandma-like touch, just happy to feed you with so much generosity. It felt like home. Definitely coming back for more!
Best eggplant ever. Great egg rolls. Fine fried rice and Mongolian beef. Chow mein so-so, a little soggy.
I have been coming here for over 4 years. I love this place! The food is amazing! And they have the best hot and sour soup!
I’ve been coming to Woks On for years and it never disappoints. The food is always amazing and the staff are always so happy and welcoming. 5 flavor chicken is my go to, must try!
The servings are large, and the food is delicious! I’ve been to Wok’s dozens of times, and I’ve never been disappointed. It is one of my favorite places to go for Chinese food.
Been trying to find a good local Chinese food, as I just moved to Sunnyvale this year. This place was really great! The food was great, the hospitality was great, loved it!! I will definitely be returning in the future and will be recommending this place to others! I got the half and half with pork(beef?) fried rice and chow mein, garlic chicken and sweet and sour pork . DELICIOUS!!!!
I love Chinese food and Woks On! Express is my favorite spot in Sunnyvale, CA. They are a family own, small fast food restaurant. They have a wide selection of food to select from. All meals included a soup, my favorite is hot and sour. My favorite items here is the chicken chow mien, sweet and sour pork, and Mongolian beef. Ask for the chilli oil, the sauce is literally FIRE! 🔥 🔥 They are also very generous with the portions. I love flirting with the ladies for an extra scoop! 🤣😂. Check them out and I promise you won't will be disappointed. 📍Woks On! Express on West El Camino Real and S Murphy Ave in Sunnyvale, CA
They’re finally reopened after a long wait! Food tastes the same as I remember it. Generous portions and a good assortment of dishes.

Food was better than I had expected. For about $18 you get enough for two meals or two people. Comes with soup ( I had egg drop) that was very tasty. Definitely will he going back often. Place is not much to look out, but it's all takeout anyway.
I’ve been looking for a family owned alternative to Panda Express for a while and this is it, my new favorite restaurant in Sunnyvale. It hits every flavor note I want, is fast, great portions, non-corporate, great vibes. Wok’s On Express is the place I tell everyone in my life about now. Love this place!
I highly recommend this no frills Chinese fast food! It’s cheap and affordable and the quality of food is good for something quick. The meals come with a free soup - a nice addition to the set meal. It’s a mom and pop shop run by an old Chinese couple. My favorite: veggie fried rice, sweet and sour pork, walnut strimp, veggie egg rolls, hot and sour soup.
We love to go to family-owned restaurants whenever we can and Wok's On Express does not disappoint when we want something fast and delicious. Truly enjoyed our last takeout - thank you!!
The combo is good I like pork rice . Salt pepper fish and the soup is great the service is great to
Been going here for so long food is always consistent and the owner is really kind. Really recommend you to try it’s the best food in Sunnyvale no joke! The prices are very low as well and they give huge portions. If you go I recommend the fish with salt and pepper it’s the best!

Me and my fellow companion T gray and Jónas has a wonderful time eating here during our lunch break. The food was well cook, the place was nice and the staff were very friendly. This was a personal Favorite restaurant from one of my friends and im glad i got to try it out!
Pretty good for Chinese fast food. Many options which is the best part.
Very good Chinese food !!! The best EGG FLOWER SOUP. The downfall is that even when you haven't finished ordering, the owners are eaguer, or too pront to charge you. They don't let you finish your order in a timely manner, even when is not too busy, even when is only you. They make you feel rushed. Is kind of uncomfortable. However their food is delicious, is worthy to go there !!! I recommend this place. Their food is 5 stars !!!
food is great a la carte chinese textbook fast food salt and pepper fried chicken is super juicy and crispy.
First time there had vegetable prawn , salt pepper chicken and pork fried rice . delicious. Second time had salt pepper chicken again and vegetable rice. Again, delicious. Hot and sour soup good too . Definitely going back. Only been twice will hold back on 5th star for now.
The food here is very delicious. I always get chicken chow main, 5 flavor chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The food is very yummy and the portions aren’t small. The price isn’t bad for how much food they gave you. There’s a lady the speaks both Spanish and English and an old man. They have many options of food and they also have drinks. Overall I give this place 4 stars
Yummie Vegetable 🥕 🥦 Fried Rice 🍚 , Rice Noodles 🍜, Garlic 🧄 Broccoli & Cabbage with Tofu which I rarely rarely eat. Fairly good make sure tell them plenty of hot oil highly recommended. Vegetable egg rolls are the best of best out of everything.

Food is alright, but honestly expected more, I got chow mein, orange chicken and walnut prawns, in my opinion the food doesn't taste that good, the noodles were overcooked and all the items needed a little more seasoning for my liking, other than that is fine, fast service and average price
We have bought Woks On Express food for the last 21 years. Generally, the food is great. Otherwise, I wouldn't keep returning. The last time we took-out the taste was different. I believe they are breaking in a new cook. I usually get Mandarin Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Salt and Pepper Chicken, and they are out of the world. Not this time. There was more onion than beef and no heat in the Mandarin Beef. The Sweet and Sour sauce was goopy and sweet enough to frost a cake. The Salt and Pepper Chicken had a batter that was too hard to bite into. We're going to ta k e a break for a couple of months, and try again. The older gentleman, I think of him as Papa, usually gets it right.
Went there today evening and I felt the good quality could have been better. The chicken was hard from the entre we ordered. Service needs to be improved. When my friend asked for salt/pepper. They said they don’t have it 🤷🏽♂️
Typically it’s pretty freakin good. I don’t know what’s been going on lately. For instance, my general chicken that had more water chestnuts and mushrooms than chicken. Come one folks let’s get back to how it was.

Ordered the 4-item combo. The server was really stingy with the shrimp - it was obvious she was trying to put mostly vegetables and just a couple shrimp on top. And the kicker is - they have a surcharge for anything with seafood! This used to be one of our go-to places, but we won't be going back.
Once a formerly great place for some affordable tasty eats but sadly is now just a shadow of itself. They were closed for a year after a kitchen fire then Covid hit and they just don’t seem to be able to find their groove again. Pricey combo plate of tough and hard to chew garlic chicken and possibly the worse king pao I have eaten. Truly sad cause this was a easy eat there twice a week place for me.
On top of this being a rundown place, with grumpy service that won't accommodate the slightest (I asked for a paper cup vs stirofoam), food was not not fresh. Vegetable fried rice was the only good item I could finish eating. Stir fried eggplant was spoiled before it was cooked. It tasted rotten. Similar to kung Pao chicken, zucchini started to ferment so the taste was off. All that for $15 plus the tip it's asked for at the checkout. With all the ample choices in this area, needless to say I won't be back to the Delicious Chinese Food.
This place used to be amazing! There was a kitchen fire and i guess they are rebuilding. Supposed to open September, then Mid November... That didn't happen and i was told by them Mid January. Caged today and was told maybe another month. So... For those of you who want fast chinese....Wok First is about 1 mile north on El Camino from this place. They have decent food, they deliver and.... They are open.
Very disappointed in portion sizes for what I am paying for. The two combo does not come with rice or noodles. You have to pay extra for that and when you get one little scoop of rice for like four dollars extra seems ridiculous. Food was flavorful but portion not where it’s at.
Sweet sour Pork delicious but the rest of the meal....maybe not. My Dad said the fried rice was good but my chicken fried rice was just not very good ( maybe need onion or more oil). Next time I will try Pork, maybe has more flavour. String bean chicken was Ok ( cook well) but the flavour lack something ( maybe add Garlic). Overall just not good as Panda Express ( I dont like Panda because they use cheap rice but the entrees at Panda taste better....and Kung Pao at Panda taste better....Panda entrees always taste better). The thing that was confusing is if you order 4 item.....that Rice or Chow mein is counted as one item, and I think they charge 16.99 for 4 item. The 4 item is actually 3 item at Panda and Panda only charge 12.40 for the same amount. The only thing I like about this place is I think you can choose Glass Noodle as one of your items ( it is delicious) my Dad got that. I think the fried rice would taste better if they add more onion or cabbage or oil...just need to improve since they give you too much rice.
Mediocre but quick cafeteria-style Chinese-American food at a decent price. Had the 3-item combo for around $15. Chow mein was bland and unseasoned. Orange chicken was sometimes hard and chewy. The eggplant and tofu was decent tasting but a little greasy. Overall this place is nothing special and I wouldn't come back.
is my first time trying this place. costumer service very good, but food is good price but has no flavor at ALL nothing very plain! i got two plates, i didn't like any option! was very sad 😢! my family and i love chinese food.... would I come back? NO..
I order house chow mein, wor wonton soup, and walnut prawns the broth of the soup is no taste just plain water needs some flavor

I do not recommend it. The garlic chicken lacked garlic flavor and had overly sweet meat. I ordered a dish with three toppings, but only two were included in the takeout box. I brought it up at the cashier, but the elderly man did not understand what I was saying. Regardless, I paid for it, but I would not recommend it to anyone.
First time we went food was ok, wanted to give em a second chance and it was terrible. Will not be going back a third time..
The chef needs to learn more on cooking tasty food. Almost all Chinese restaurants can make the shrimp tender, even with frozen ones. It requires marination with oil, water, sugar, and baking soda for 1 to 2 hours. Adding some egg whites and ice will help even more
Disappointing Experience I recently visited Wok's On Express to satisfy a craving and left underwhelmed. The 2-item combo didn't include noodles or rice, forcing me to upgrade to a $16+ 3-item combo since my plate was made already. Food: Bland Glass noodles were the lone highlight, decent but not impressive. Sweet and sour chicken was overcooked and dry. Beef and broccoli disappointed; the beef was pale, tenderized poorly, and tasted off. Customer Service: Eh When I questioned the price, the owner/lady dismissively shooed me away. The empty restaurant should have been a warning sign. Verdict: No thank you Unfortunately, Wok Express failed to deliver on both food quality and customer service. With better options available, I wouldn't recommend this location.
You’ll be promised 3 items for a very generous price. The issue would be that of the 3 items, one of them would take 80% of the space in the box and that would be rice/noodles. 😄
