Opinions de Hunan Mifen Sunnyvale
The food here is excellent. I ordered the spicy rice noodle soup with the beef ribs and it was so spicy that i had a runny nose, exactly what i was craving! If you enjoy spicy, this is an excellent place!! Also the service is super fast, they bring out your food in no more than 5 minutes.
This is an excellent place to enjoy high-quality noodles. Highly recommended.
The beef bone rice noodle here is incredibly spicy—I was sweating while eating it! The heat is intense but truly authentic, capturing the bold flavors of Hunan cuisine
I can’t handle spice so I ordered the noodle with sliced beef. There’s 2 options that aren’t spicy. The flavor was really good and I enjoyed how bouncy the noodles were. The workers were kind to me and helped me with recommendations since it was my first time here. Ordering for take out was easy. There’s a lot of parking, you walk up order from the iPad and pay with card or Apple Pay. I was visiting from NYC so I thought these noodles tasted as good as Hunan food from NY.
Comfort food, inexpensive but super tasty. The amount of meat is decent and the broth is great. And you get your food super fast, like 5 minutes. Warning: it can be very very spicy if you choose to. Would definitely go again.
I love the original beef bone noodles. Recently I feel the extreme spicy level dropped a bit and it’s perfect for me.
I always order to go and they will separate the soup and the noddle and they will also ask my arrival time so they can planned the time to delivery my order. So I could take home with warm food to serve without warm it up again. Thank you and will recommend.
The spicy is truly spicy. Really amazing place, their spicy flavor isn't just painful, it's so delicious that you want more despite the heat. If only this place had the drinkable yogurt like mifen 101. Definitely a place I see myself craving in the future!
We were looking for good noodle soup. We found great soup. Full of flavor. Serving size was exactly right. And, just the right amount of attention. A good menu, with fair prices.
Really like how the toppings can separate from the soup so if you get something really spicy you can kinda adjust. The spicy beef bone rice noodle was actually quite spicy. Definitely need to mix the spice into the soup well before drinking. The little fried pork snack was good. Note: the entire place smelled like stinky tofu (also something on their menu).
The food is amazing and the service is efficient and effective. Well I guess I should write more. This location used to be a Japanese restaurant so you'll still see the sushi bar for seating which is a good choice for single diners. Sunnyvale Hunan rice noodle used to be reigned by the Noodle Talk so I was curious how this place compares when I saw a huge line last time I passed by. I waited at the opening during lunch time to be seated as the first diner. I have to say the food did not disappoint. The Noodle was fresh and chewy at the right amount. There is plenty of meat (whatever you choose) and enough noodles that makes it worth your money. The service is extremely efficient and noodles come out quickly. I like the waitress and waiters there. They are not super friendly but courteous and very good at looking at cues for what you need. Honestly I welcome the new mifen overlord. Oh I chose the intestine one and it was delicious.
I've been to their other Sunnyvale location, so I knew what to expect. This location is pretty much the same so I am glad they offer 2 locations! Upon arriving, I ordered their super spicy noodle soup with beef innards via the QR code. I usually prefer just beef chunks with the noodles for easy eating, but they don't offer that with the super spicy flavor which I like. The other option is beef on bones which would be even harder to eat. I do love the flavor! Now that I know what to expect, I just dumped the full dish into the soup because I like the spiciness. Service was good, food was served quickly and don't really need much else. Good ambiance too, place is bright and clean. Will definitely come back when I have spicy noodle cravings again!
Delicious alternative to the many noodle shops in south bay. Spice level was great and service was actually quite good despite me not speaking Chinese. They do have some outdoor seating but keep in mind they were 2 person tables with no heaters so bring a jacket just in case if you intend to eat outside with your plus one!
Very special for the way you are served. They separate the noddle from the meat and let you decide how to eat them. You can mix them and eat them. This is the normal way. Or you can eat noddle and meat separately. This is the way I like. It allows you to drink the soup with its original taste. Also allows you to share the meats with other people on the same table. Highly recommend this place!
The base broth of noodles is so delicious. It is not fatty but full of flavour with strong aroma. They also have several topping options. We've tried 4 of them and they all taste different and are delicious in different ways. The noodles are not special but cooked very well.
Our new favorite mifen place in the bay area! I love the idea of them separating the rice noodle soup and meat toppings. Service is great and they brought the spicy soup for me to try it out (it is VERY SPICY). Food in general is pretty authentic Chinese. For cold and gloomy days, this soup will warm you up.
The noodles were perfectly bouncy and chewy with perfectly seasoned broth. The pork & pickled cabbage was the perfect sour-savory balance. The spicy beef was very spicy as they appropriately warned, but still delicious. Quick service a bonus :)
Was recommended this place by someone and it's great if you enjoy spicy food! We got the 3-spicy signature (招牌牛骨) as well as the 0-spicy one (三鲜肉丝) and both were good in different ways. The spicy one is definitely very rich and spicy, on the higher side of our tolerance for enjoyable spice for sure (we eat samyang buldak ramen regularly because it tastes good, if you want to benchmark your spice tolerance), but the beef bones add a lot of good flavor and aroma to the broth so it was a tasty spice (the spiciness is also served on the side so you don't have to add all of it like we did). The non-spicy one is lighter and good for someone who isn't looking to have a super heavy meal. That said, the portions are huge and the combo meal was definitely too much food for us. The dessert (蔓越莓冰粉) that came with the combo meal (as I understand it they usually give the green bean soup but ran out so they gave us the fancier one haha) was really good though! It's an 'ice jelly' (search Bingfen on wiki) flavored with cranberries and rose honey and a super refreshing way to end a meal :) Service is super fast, so that was nice too:)
Got the only vegetarian noodle dish which is the pickled potherb mustard noodles. Substituted the rice noodles with regular noodles which was chewy and cooked perfectly. Yummy soup and good portion size. The spicy crayfish rice noodles was flavorful but a tad bit too spicy for me. The rice noodles were just as good, great bounce to the chew. Will definitely come back! I just wish there were more vegetarian options.
This is one of a best Chinese rice noodle place in the area in my opinion. This plaza wasn’t crowded but this restaurant is the game changer. The noodle is texture, the soup is flavorful and the meat on your choice is nicely seasoned and cooked. One thing is that they claim the level of spicy is not adjustable and I wish they could improve to adapt customers personal flavor but it is what it is. Dine in you check In at the door front tablet and wait for the waiters to call your name. Please do not try to cut the line of others that I’ve seen people non stop asking the waiter for seats even they are many numbers away, please be patience and respect other customers. Click like if it’s useful :)
First time here, really impressed. The noodles are delicious. The crispy lotus root is a must try! Looks like French fries, but it’s actually lotus root (healthier?) instead of potato.

This is a wonderful place for excellent noodles. Not a huge menu, but what they serve is excellent. One type of noodle and soup base. Noodles and broth are served in a big soup bowl. The ‘add on’, whether it is the very very very spicy and delicious ribs or the intestines or anything else are served in separate bowls. Perfect for sharing. The noodle texture has just the right chew and stays perfectly QQ through the entire meal. The servings may appear small but are actually more than adequate. The rose jelly is a perfect finish for the meal. There is inside and outdoor dining. Service is prompt and professional. Can be courteous at times, but rarely friendly. Dine in orders are submitted via your phone after pulling up the menu from the QR code. Have dined there more than a few times after discovering this place. Food is always good. Service is always ok. Would’ve given 5 stars if not for the post pandemic habit of plastic overuse. Every noodle serving comes with parsley and chopped green onion. Each served in individual plastic container. Why? Dessert is served with a plastic spoon. Why? Water in throwaway cups. Noodles are served in real bowls and they don’t use throwaway chopsticks. So why all this plastic.
Ordered the spicial beef rice noodles from DoorDash and I think it’s more expensive than walk in. I like that the soup containers came nicely wrapped. The taste is above and beyond if you love spicy. You can customize it though by not putting a lot of chilli oil in to the broth. Good portion I can separate this to two meals (I don’t eat a lot). I took out one star coz the meat can be more tender.
Soup base is msg added for sure. Well, I guess no restaurant nowadays doesn’t add msg(or other type of alternatives) I really like their stinky fried tofu. Service is good. Reason give 3 stars for atmosphere is there always homeless roaming around in that plaza. Make me don’t want to go back again.
I've walked by this place numerous times and the place is always busy, which is a good sign. The menu comes in the form of a.qr code so keep your phone handy. The decor is a bit drab and i could smell the cleaner they use to clean the tables so that took away from the atmosphere. I ordered the ribeye noodle bowl. It came super quick. The noodles were perfect temp but the meat itself was not all the way hot like the noodles. There was a decent amoit of grissle on the meat as well so it was not east to split the pieces up into smaller chunks. The wait staff never came to check on me or to see how i was throughtout the meal and while that was okay, it did feel a.little.off to me.

Tasty, but beware even soups marked non spicy are spicy. Beef bone is soaked in chili oil on delivery, so be ready for the spicy kick. Good separation of noodles and soup base for pickup, but soups are not labeled so hard to tell which one is which for online orders.
A friend recommended it to me and I decided to try it. Honestly, if you're going for rice noodles, Vietnamese rice noodles are probably better. They're both made of rice, but the Chinese noodles are round and can't really soak up the soup, so it's like noodles and soup all separately , so why order noodle soup? The broth is pretty ordinary, nothing special, ordered pork ribs noodle soup $17 and added the egg $2.50 Deep fried pork $7.99 was average No service at all , order by QR code , and put your order on table with “ quiet “ style .
Total Score: 6.00 Bathroom: 2/5 Icky and looks like has not been cleaned in a while Customer Service: 3.5/5 Refilled waters and helped us when we needed and had questions. Ambiance: 3.5/5 Good seating and clean and bright. Nothing notable Food: 3.5/5 Normal noodles and nothing to complain about. The broth was just the right amount of saltiness Wow: 0/1 Normal noodle restaurant Total Score = BR + CS + 2*AM + 5*FOOD + WOW

Mediocre at best. We ordered to go noodles: the angus beef one and the port rib one. The service is pretty good but the quality of the food is really disappointing. The angus beef noodle soup tastes very plain and the beef is very chewy and not flavorful. The pork rib one has the same soup base and friend said it’s mediocre. The portion is also pathetic. Overall I would give it two stars and likely will not visit again. Also disappointed at how limited the choices are. Either things are extremely spicy or just completely plain.
Just so so. Try somewhere else. Broth is not tasteful. Do not go super spicy 🔥 Not edible, and I 💕 ve spicy foods! Don't do it.

I’m happy that they opened this location, so we don’t have to travel to Saratoga anymore. We ordered three bowls of mifen to go. The services and packing were excellent, BUT I think they forgot to add salt or seasoning, so the meals were quite plain today. We will revisit them again and update the review.
