Had a great experience at Sam Walker’s Tavern, and while the food was excellent, the real standout was our waitress, Lilli. First, the food: get the espresso martini, no hesitation. The giant pretzel is a must, and every piece of meat came out exactly as ordered. Both the steak and burgers were cooked a perfect medium rare, which is harder to pull off consistently than people think. But Lilli absolutely made the night. She was knowledgeable, helpful, charming, and genuinely bubbly in a way that felt real. Not forced, not scripted, not the dead behind the eyes “I need tips to survive” vibe. Just great energy, great timing, and great instincts. She elevated the entire experience. Food was strong. Service was exceptional. We’ll be back, and we’ll be asking for Lilli.

Excellent food? I got the grilled cheese with short ribs (I think) in it. It was amazing! Fried pickles were so good as well. Server was excellent. As for atmosphere it was pretty loud. I tend to like quiet environments where I can talk with the company I am with. But that is just a matter of preference.

Sean B was our server at the bar and he was awesome. Whipped up some great espresso martinis. Food and atmosphere were top notch. Cant wait go back!

Phenomenal service from start to finish. Our waitress Alexa S was attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional. She anticipated our needs, checked in at just the right times, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The level of care and attention really elevated the entire dining experience. Service like this is rare and absolutely deserves recognition. We’ll definitely be back!

I went to the friends and family opening Monday at 4 with my coworker knowing nothing about the restaurant but when I tell you my mind was blown away by the service and the food!!! I got the steak tips and they were cooked perfectly the food came out super quick! The dessert was amazing as well!!! Our server Anna was so kind and helpful!! Amazing place and definitely coming back!!

The biggest stand out at the new SW location was the service. My friend and I brought our kids (4) in for an early dinner and had a wonderful evening rooted in the care and attention we were given by the host and our server Bianca, as well as the supporting team. The food was good and the atmosphere was as expected but the stand out was the service. Super flexible, kind and assuring. One of the kids has a severe peanut allergy and Bianca went above and beyond to double check everything to ensure his safety. Everything was handled with a sense of humor and levity that was much needed and appreciated after a long day. Thank you to Bianca and the team!

1st time here as it just opened on 12/17/2025. Tried to make reservations but was very busy prior to Christmas. Reserved the day after Christmas and arrived earlier and was seated right away. The services was on point, the food was delicious and love the interior decorations. Great place for dinner date, friend's gathering or an event. Will be back as we live right around the corner.

We were a large group. With little ones last night. Food was excellent! Atmosphere perfect. Annie are waitress was great! Friendly - efficient- kind - and was able to answer all our questions. Definitely recommend this restaurant!!!

Jenna M was our waitress and was the greatest. she was always checking in with us to make sure our food was good and seeing if we needed anything. 10/10 would recommend coming here and asking for her to be your waitress.

I had an incredible experience here recently! The food was absolutely delicious—every dish arrived hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor. However, what truly elevated our evening was the exceptional service. Our server, Anna D., was phenomenal. Her food and wine pairings were spot-on, and her polite, helpful demeanor made our night truly memorable.

Food was great the service was even better. Our server Davian was fantastic very friendly was right on top of everything.

Jenna S. was amazing. Very attentive and kind. The atmosphere is cozy even though it’s a large sports bar. The food was delicious. So many choices that we can't wait to come back!

I'm so glad this place opened up, it's definitely going to be one of our go-tos! The food was great (Italian egg rolls, Cajun chicken pasta, short rib grilled cheese, brownie sundae for 2), the music selection was absolute perfection, and the decor was lovely. Our server, Zoe, was an absolute delight. She was attentive without being overbearing, was able to make great recommendations, and was incredibly friendly. We will definitely be back.

The food looked so good, and the service was excellent, our server Brian was a total sweetheart and thorough with my allergies. It’s cute inside, glad I stopped by.

My friends and I decided to check out the new Swampscott location this past Saturday. Our experience was incredible and the food was fantastic! The Brussels sprouts and guacamole dip were the best I’ve ever had and the banana old fashioned is hands down my new favorite cocktail. We were fortunate to have Bianca as our server and wow, what a riot she is! She was so quick, keeping our drinks full and making sure to check in every so often. The server in the next section over, Brian, dropped off a couple of our rounds as well and we had a great time chatting with him, too. Hands down the best service we have received anywhere in a long time, made even more impressive by the fact it was their first weekend of service. I want to give a special shout out to the two managers who checked in with us, Doug and Liz. Despite the huge crowd of people and the overwhelming size of the place, everything we experienced flowed smoothly and has set a high bar for us going forward. We can’t wait to go back! Thank you, Sam Walker’s!

Great spot, vibrant atmosphere and amazing service! If you’re lucky enough to get Allie as your server. Count your blessings. Very attentive, welcoming and knowledge of the menu was on point. Certainly recommend it.

Had a very nice first experience here. The restaurant is huge and has a very lively atmosphere. The food was fantastic, I got the pan seared salmon with risotto and Brussels sprouts. Definitely the best risotto I’ve ever had and the salmon was cooked to perfection. Our server Madi was also very kind and excellent. 5/5 stars.

Been several times since it opened! Food and environment have always been incredible. Our server, Madi, was amazing and we had a great visit as always.

I had a great experience at Sam Walker’s! David and Vie were my bartenders, and they were both amazing. The service was friendly, attentive, and fast. They made sure we had everything we needed and created a really welcoming atmosphere at the bar. Drinks were made perfectly, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. My friend and I arrived here for a 1:30 reservation today and were greeted with some confusion about the name but thankfully there were two of them to figure it out. To say we were a little cranky would be fair, it was snowing and even more snow on the way. We were happy to be out of the house to battle the winter blues. We were seated in a nice booth and greeted quickly by our server Mikayla (I hope I spelled that right). She asked how we were doing, and I spilled it. I told her we're crabby and miserable. She immediately filled out water glasses and showed us the drink menu. Her vibe broke through our tough exterior and made us comfortable and heard. She gave us her recommendations for drinks and entrees. She was funny and cheery. 5 stars for service! I had the turkey smash burger with fries. Big sandwich that was seasoned deliciously with a tart cranberry aioli. My friend had the steak and avocado bowl which was recommended by Mikayla. Big portions of steak and avocado, she was very happy with her choice as well. Thank you Mikayla for the help with two cranky old ladies!

Can’t say enough about this place!! Our waitress tonight was Devan. She was amazing! The food came out on time and she made sure to check on us regularly. Overall great experience!! 10/10 would recommend!!

Great first visit. Our server Anna did an outstanding job- personable, friendly and efficient. Plenty of space so you don’t feel like you are on top of other diners. We both ordered handhelds and they were excellent! We will definitely be back.

We had a great experience today. Our. Bartender Timmy was amazing. I didn’t see exactly what I wanted in the bar menu and he created me an amazing drink! It was delicious. We will definitely be back. Definitely recommend sitting at the bar.

Went with my family the other day and it was very good a little slow at times but overall was worth it.

Service was wonderful. My husband’s dinner came out very much later than mine and they apologized. Our waitress and the manager of the restaurant were lovely. I’m not a big bar person so the two bars we’re not a positive for me.

To say I was bummed about the experience here is an understatement. This was our new “go-to” restaurant to relax, laugh, and just decompress from the work week. As a preface, this restaurant is extremely loud. My friends and I got a booth near the bar to eat. We were all laughing and having a good time (respectfully), and the manager came over to me specifically and said, “Am I going to have to separate you two?” I laughed it off because I figured he was joking. Not even 35 minutes later, he came back around and made another comment to the effect of, “Oh, the loud one.” First of all, I am the quietest person in our group, but when I’m having a good time, my laugh can get a little loud. I can assure you, however, it was not nearly as loud as the bar area itself. Second of all, well… it’s a bar. We spent $400+ that night on appetizers, meals, dessert, and drinks. My friends are willing to go again, but I am not. I have a family who would have also enjoyed coming here. Respectfully, no guest should leave feeling singled out for simply enjoying themselves in a lively setting. I hope management reflects on this experience and makes changes to ensure others don’t feel the same way.

Have been here many times in big groups and had great experience so today was very unfortunate. a group of us went for brunch, had an amazing server and a pretty large tab, paid the tab and a new server took over the section. our party decided we wanted another round of drinks so we sat and waited for the new server and she didn’t come up to us once. we had to flag her down and ask to put in an order and got closed out again. two more drinks were wanted and she never came back over so two people in our party went up to the bar and ordered and came back to the table. 20 minutes later the server stephanie came over and rudely said “you have been holding up my table and ordered a drink at the bar not even through me” we apologized immediately and explained it was only two guests that got a drink at bar because we waited for 20 mins at table and she never came over. she then repeated again that we were hogging her table and she was annoyed then walked away, was serving every table around us and never came back despite us trying to get her to come over. we went up to bar asking for a drink just to be told we aren’t allowed to order at bar anymore and have to order through server, even though she was refusing to come over. we eventually went to other bar and we are told we couldn’t order more drinks and were cut off. very disappointing to be treated that way when our party was there for several hours and spent at least $600 on food/drinks all day tipping well everytime and watching the staff talk and ignore us. this is typically a weekly spot for us but definitely rethinking this after being treated this way by stephanie. regardless of being upset about two guests not ordering through you, never okay in service industry to speak to heavily paying customers that way. unacceptable.
