Ordered 3 different Pinwheels and an antipasto salad for our first order ever. Decided to try a range of flavors. All 3 arrived HOT and delicious! During the pandemic many places have gone south in flavor and quality. This place has definitely set the bar
The food was delicious. Egzona did an amazing job as our server. We will be back again!
Ordered out for the first time. Service was great over the phone/upon pickup. Meal was amazing. Would have loved bread to soak up the sauce! Will be back.
Some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Ordered through grub hub and everything was packaged perfectly. The saucy dishes were wrapped tightly with plastic wrap. The dressing/sauce containers were labeled and the food was so warm and fresh. They are amazing. Thank you so much for the amazing service and food.
Love this little restaurant. A nice change of pace from the loud and busy places. Food is great too. Menu might be too big?
Very charming little restaurant with great service and atmosphere. We had a party of three consisting of a vegetarian, gluten free(celiac), and no restrictions. I had prime rib, excellent perfectly cooked with great flavor. Nice and tender, and I’m one of those crazies that loves the fat, so none went to waste. My wife had the rigatoni with marinara sauce, she is very particular on her sauce and finished it. She gave it very high marks. The best part is I think we found a new GF friendly restaurant restaurant for our daughter. She ordered the GF baked ziti and loved it. I tried it and agree, the pasta was done perfect. It didn’t have the rubbery or over dine texture that some gluten free pastas have. They did a great job. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Great job to the staff at Mona Lisa’s!
Mona Lisa’s is such a fabulous place! We took our family out Thanksgiving dinner 2021 and 2022 and we are booked already for next Thanksgiving! The Thanksgiving buffet was above and beyond ! The food was so delicious and the variety was awesome with turkey, ham, prime rib and haddock and the best sides that you can imagine! The restaurant had an awesome menu snd the best fish fry ever! Carmen, the owner, is awesome! His staff is so professional and courteous! We highly recommend Mona Lisa’s for dinner, events, and special occasions like Thanksgiving! Best food ever! Mona Lisa’s is the old Morgan’s on the west side. We live in Fayetteville and it’s our favorite restaurant !
I've eaten at at Mona Lisa's multiple times since they've open and I felt now it was time to comment. every experience I've had there has only gotten better and better. from the delicious food like their hot and creamy chicken Riggies, crisp battered fish, and mouth watering hot pizza everything has been to my delight. the staff is charming and consistent in the quality of service. as well the ambiance is like that of home very welcoming and delightful. If your looking for authentic food and a nice night out to fine dine this is the place in Syracuse to be!
We have eaten here a few times since they opened. On our last trip the food was excellent and the service was good. I highly recommend the meatloaf dinner. Today I called to see about ordering Easter dinner. I didn't leave a message, in a short time I received a call back, Lisa was very friendly and helpful. I ordered our Easter dinner. I will continue to support this small local business!!!
Overcooked salmon. good idea with the special glaze but not good cooking. Surprised too because we were the only ones there. Good waitress. Pizza had a burned crust and was flimsy. Real long wait for the food too.
After reading some of the negative reviews I was hesitant about trying Mona Lisa's. However I'm glad we did. Our waitress, Tracy was great. She was attentive without being intrusive. She answered our questions easily and politely with a smile on her face. My husband ordered the lasagne and said it was very good. I tried the cheddar mac and cheese pinwheels and they were delicious. I ate half and brought the rest home because they were very filling. We shared the bread pudding for dessert and it was also delicious. Other reviews talked about the rudeness of staff and we saw absolutely none of that. We will return again.
Came here for dinner about a month ago and the food and service was great! Just ordered catering for a work lunch and again great service and my co workers raved about the how good the food was. Thank you Lisa! And the cookies were a nice surprise and delicious! I think you will get some more business from my coworkers! We will definitely be back again!
One of these days I'm going to visit the restaurant in person but I've ordered from here via Grubhub twice so far. The food is excellent and so are the prices. You get quite a lot of food too so there's no way you'll go away hungry. This place has down home, honest-to-goodness food. When I get real mashed potatoes in my order, I know this place is a keeper!
After a couple years of marginal take out meals, we finally hit a home run! We just enjoyed our first take out from Mona Lisa’s and it was marvelous! My wife had the chicken and biscuits and I had broiled haddock. The meals were both excellent! Hot and well prepared. Large portions of everything. The salads were fresh and perfect as well. We were both very pleased and impressed with our first Mona Lisa’s meals.
Sofia was our server and provided great service to our family.
Delicious home cooked food, lovely restaurant, large portions and homemade desserts. I have done take out , delivery , and eaten in the dining room and bar area Mona Lisa Ristorante is always excellent. Try their haddock special Fishfry Fridays and their prime rib with homemade mashed potatoes or home baked macaroni and cheese they are wonderful . My favorite two dishes are the chicken franchaise and the pork Normandy these both are so flavorful and delicious. Chef Dan has been at this location for years and never disappoints. I highly recommend it !!
This has become my favorite place to dine in. Lovely people, delicious food and sincere service EVERYTIME! The bread is out of this world. The staff are all on point and genuinely care about your experience. A true gem lost in a sea of franchises. I tend to be overly critical ,as a Virgo, but 3 out of 3 experiences here have been perfect! My guests adore it as well. Portions are generous and my steak is always PERFECT!
We do a lot of takeout. We keep coming back to Mona Lisas because their food is Awesome, service super and their food portions great. Lisa's homemade food makes us feel like family did the cooking. Those desserts are to "die for."
My wife and I live close by and finally ordered take out from here! The food was out of this world. Everything was fresh and the quality was top notch! This is the only Italian Restaurant in the area that makes homemade pasta that I’m aware of. They also make their dinner bread that is scrumptious! We will most definitely be going back.
Thank you to the hostess I spoke to today. The food turned out amazing. It's a great restaurant in Westvale, New York. The Italian food tops the most famous restaurants in downtown and surrounding areas. Thank you Mona Lisa
Eight of our family went to celebrate my husband's retirement last night. Our waiter, Sam, who we requested, was top notch. The food was delicious and plenty of it. We never have had a bad meal or service here. As we were leaving, Lisa, the owner, came out to congratulate my husband and to thank us for coming.
On Thanksgiving day 2022 we ventured into an amazing dinner snd restaurant. The owners Lisa and Carmen are wonderful hosts and take great pride in their home like restaurant. Four of us ordered the small plate offering which redefines small. I'd hate to see large. Everything was hot, flavorful and inviting. The plate had turkey wrapping stuffing, sweet potato squash, cranberry sauce, Mashed potatoes, and delicious breads. Prior to the meal we had the squash based soup which was excellent. Topping this off were the desserts and the cheesecake was masterful. Observing the buffet line it offered at least 10 different items. This is a wonderful and relaxing restaurant which never disappoints. Don't miss out on this local gem.
I went to a bridal shower. It was very nice and quaint!
My family and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Mona Lisa's Ristorante. The food was outstanding! It was a real home cooked meal--no packaged food. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommend.
Stopped in to Mona Lisa today, Sunday. They were serving a buffet menu all day, with different offerings for Breakfast, Brunch and Dinner. (On Sundays offerings are buffet only)My husband had the brunch buffet. There were some nice options, and all the food was homemade. Price seemed reasonable. I was unable to order the buffet as it contained many items which are not comparable with my dietary restrictions. They do have a gluten free menu but they are not contained on the buffet. Initially we considered not being able to stay, however after explaining my dilemma the owner graciously offered to make me one of the gluten free entrees. (See below for more info about dietary restrictions). I ordered the gnocchi with spinach, red pepper and Kalamata olives. It was definitely homemade and delicious. They were amazingly accommodating. Service was good. Would definitely recommend for those in need of gluten free.
Great breakfast buffet!! So many options, and bottomless mimosas for $15. Egzana was great, always checking in to see if we needed anything
After a lovely dinner in the restaurant recently, we decided to order our Thanksgiving dinners and let Mona Lisa’s do the heavy lifting. We were not disappointed. We picked up our orders at the appointed time, and were delighted with very generous portions of beautifully prepared tender turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, corn, squash, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, fuji apple salads; sweet breads, focaccia; pumpkin pie and cheesecake. It was truly amazing and we appreciate the care and work that went into these meals. Thank you so much Mona Lisa’s. Keep up the good work. We’ll be back and Happy Thanksgiving!
I had the server Egzona and her service was excellent and she really went the extra mile for us. The food was outstanding, we had the prime ribs and I would really recommend it to any meat lover!
The food here is amazing. I had Egzona as my server and she was on top of everything. We felt right at home. Great location!
I ordered delivery for the first time yesterday and this will definitely be our new go to. Everything was packaged really well and arrived hot and clean. The Reuben pizza was delicious and is almost as good the next day. The vodka gnocchi was fresh and had an excellent texture. Loaded potato soup was the best I’ve had, and all the portions were generous. But oh my goodness, friends. The white chocolate bread pudding is like nothing I’ve ever had before. It was a spiritual experience, and one I’m excited to have again. Can’t wait to dine in next time, as the pictures look delightful.
Ordered through Door Dash They were out of lemon pie so I got a call. Most places just refund, bur they went above and beyond to make sure I got a dessert! Their peach cobbler was awesome! So was the rest of the meal!
We had Egzona as a server and she gave us 10/10 service. The hospitality was amazing as well as the food. Thank you Mona Lisa’s and thank you Egzona!
Egzana was quick with getting everything our group needed and was very proactive with her service. Food was pretty good, the baked goods were the best part
Breakfast buffet was excellent! The service was very attentive and pleasant. It was very affordable considering it was Easter Sunday and a majority of buffets are over $65 in the area.
We came for dinner on a Thursday evening. It was pretty quiet. The service was phenomenal. We were asked if we preferred to sit in the bar area or the dining room. We were seated immediately, by a window, "for natural light". Our server was friendly and attentive without hovering. I ordered the one meatball plus one sausage side and the Italian skewer. They had run out of the skewers. Our server was very apologetic. I ordered the sweet potato gnocchi instead. When our order came mine contained two extra meatballs "because I feel so bad we ran out of the skewers" . The meatballs were good. The sausage was excellent. The gnocchi were delicious. My date's dinner included a salad. It was above average. Generous amounts of cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives and red onions on a bed of iceberg. When we cashed out our server gave us a certificate for $10 off of the Sunday breakfast buffet. Highly recommend.
Celebrated my daughter’s 29th birthday at Mona Lisa’s Ristorante. Everything was delicious for all ten of us! HUGE portions (we all got boxes to take home for lunch the next day), and the Chocolate Mousse cake was to die for 😋 Heather was our server, and did such a great job! It’s a beautiful little Italian restaurant atmosphere in there ♥️ Loved it 🥰 P.S. They make their own pasta and you can tell…Delicious 😘 Dishes we got and loved: Chicken Riggies, Meatball Riggies, Chicken Piccata, Chicken Francais (sp?), Raviolis, Eggplant Parm, and we also got the calamari, the antipasto and the Italian plate for appetizers. Everything was delicious.
Thanksgiving day was our first visit to Mona Lisa's, and my wife, my sister-in-law, and I enjoyed the Thanksgiving buffet. The food was very good, and the service impeccable, despite an overflow crowd! Every staff person we encountered was gracious and welcoming, and greeted us with a smile. The facility itself is also warm and welcoming, and tastefully decorated... the kind of place we will enjoy a leisurely dinner. We will be back to sample the regular menu in all it's variety next time we dine out.
My fiancé and I came here for dinner, the food was great!!! I loved the vibe of the restaurant, and our server, Egzona was so helpful to recommend her favorite dishes. We will definitely be making the drive back!
Went in the evening on Valentines and was so busy, but….the pasta was amazing and the service was top notch! Can’t wait to go again!
Awesome food. Service was great. The sweet potato gnocchi was surreal.
Salmon Jameison and Chicken Riggies were delicious, as are all your meals. Will be checking our your Sunday Brunch buffet soon.
Meatloaf was delicious!!!! All the food was delicious and very generous portions
It's so great! The breakfast buffet is great. And I like the bar for happy hours. Love Mona Lisa's.
My husband and I love it here! We really love the homemade pastas. My husband has to have everything with extra extra sauce and Nate in the kitchen is always kind enough to accommodate him! Have had a great experience with all the staff there both dining and and taking out.
The food here is phenomenal. I’ve eaten in with and without a reservation, with absolutely no issues. Drinks, appetizers and entrees are all amazing. Personally you can’t go wrong with the fettuccine Alfredo made by Nate! Or the ravioli with vodka sauce. Definitely a staple restaurant
I had my 50th birthday party at Mona Lisa's. The experience was nothing but excellent. Very friendly staff and the food was off the charts 👍
Sophia was amazing!! we loved her ❤️ and the food was so good it was our first time coming and we will be back!
My takeout order was generous....enough to split for two portions....turkey dinner reminded me of Thanksgiving...fresh and delicious with all the trimmings....came with a nice side salad and bread which was an added bonus....everything was packed with care...staff was friendly and efficient while I awaited my meal.
This little neighborhood restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The employees are some of the warmest, friendliest people you’ll ever meet! They make you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. The owner always greets me which such a genuine happy smile and always pops out to say goodbye! The food is just as wonderful.. consistent, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The Sunday buffet is one of my favorites, with homemade donuts and sometimes cinnamon rolls! It’s the kind of cozy spot that keeps you coming back again and again.
Our first time getting take out from Mona Lisa’s! Everything was delicious! And the staff very warm and welcoming. Our new favorite Italian place. We will definitely we back!
Our waitress was wonderful. The Seafood Aricinni was amazing!!! Huge fabulous and so crisp and fresh! Our main meals lasanga and riggies with meatball were fantastic! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
We had a baby shower at Mona Lisa's in November. They did such a great job. Food was excellent, service was great. Lisa even made a menu for the baby shower. I would not hesitate to do another party. In fact we are doing another shower in March. Thanks Lisa!
Went tonight for dinner. Food was phenomenal. Giant portions for a great price. Fantastic wait staff. Excited to go again
Sofia was the BEST server. Please give her a raise and take good care of her. The food was excellent the friend group are repeat customers!
I ordered fried haddock dinner for delivery. It was excellent. Fish was so tasty and their Macaroni n Cheese done just right. Thank you will be ordering again!
It was my first time there, and I definitely will be back! Although they were very crowded, the two servers and one was in training that we had, were attentive, calm and collected throughout our time there and the food was absolutely amazing! I tried their eggplant parmesan as well as the French onion soup and I was extremely impressed. I highly recommend!
Such a nice experience, and I only did take out! I’ll be back for sure. Our dinner was delicious. Thank you very much.
My daughter ordered me chicken riggies from here thru door dash and they were the best riggies I ever had I told her they were made with love in them. The salad and garlic knots were really good nothing was just thrown together. She said her calzone was really good and didn’t realize how big it was when she ordered it. Definitely ordering again soon.
I went to for a 60th birthday party, and the food was exceptional. Prime rib covered in gray, mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, fresh Caesar salad and fruit medley. Our server, Egzona, provided us great service . Will definitely be back!
Walking into Mona Lisa, it was so beautiful and such a good vibe. We came for the buffet breakfast which was amazing. The food was so delicious, warm, and had many options. Our waitress Egzona was so attentive and sweet. We really enjoyed it here and will definitely be coming back. Thank you guys so much!!!
We had a large party that was served fried chicken gravy and prime ribs, one of the best meats cooked with many flavors. The restaurant has a homey feeling and the server Egzona was very attentive and welcoming. This was a great experience for us!
I recently ordered from this restaurant, and the food was absolutely amazing fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. On top of that, the service was incredible. Our waitress, Egzona, was outstanding. She was so passionate about the restaurant and the food, and her friendly, welcoming attitude made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place, not just for the food, but for the great service as well!
Always worth the order. I've gotten several dinners from here and they're all great. I really like the chicken n biscuits. The dinners came with little extras, bread, salad, and a dessert. It's really a full meal and often enough for leftovers.
Mona Lisa’s catered our wedding this past weekend and they deserve more than 5 stars. The food was incredible and exceeded expectations. The tables looked beautiful. There was constant communication and they even made us special cookies and menus with our names on it. We couldn’t have picked a better caterer for our wedding.
First time ordering delivery from here. Idk where to start. The WHOLE order was incredible! Just perfect. Piping hot, more than generous portions and incredibly tasty. Hubby got the meatloaf, potatoes and a salad with house blue cheese. Potatoes were real and not flakes, meatloaf was soft with a BBQ tang and definitely NOT cisco! I got ravioli and meatball. Meatballs were a bit heavy but very satisfying. The raviolis had a strong black pepper taste which suits me just fine. The tomato sauce was smooth tasting. Not overly acidic and definitely not sweet..I despise a sweet tomato sauce..the bread slice had a nice bakery style taste. I wish the crust was a bit crustier...lol we also go the bread pudding. If your diabetic be cautious. It's dangerously sweet but it tasted so good!! Paired with the homemade whip topping it was heaven on my fork...it was a bit pricy at $8 for 3 small slices but the amount of flavor packed into it evened it out. One slice was enough for me. It was packaged with respect and care of their food, and the customer. Each item was wrapped tight with plastic wrap including the bread slice. The dressing tasted house made too....or at very least a doctored up commercially made one. Either way it was very nice. Croutons were house made...ive never had a deep fried crouton and although it tasted of oil and spices it wasn't squishy or soggy. They paired well with the crisp lettuce. $51 order and it was well worth it. We will eat there again.
I tried the pizza to go for the first time. A medium White Garlic and a medium Buffalo Chicken. Both were really good, a 9 out of 10. The blue cheese sauce in the Buffalo was a great touch (and taste)! I’ve had other food here before and have never been disappointed. The Meatball Riggies are tremendous! A little short staffed at times when I have been there but worth any wait. I like this place a lot!
Went later in the evening. Server was very attentive, but the food was only so so. Ordered the meatball riggies, they were ok, nothing to write home about. Pricing is quite high in my opinion. Dining area is small and very noisy. Only 2 other tables seated, each with 2 people and we could clearly hear all conversation like we were sitting with them. Can't imagine noise levels when it's busy. All in all, not a terrible experience and I'll probably go again to see if anything is different.
Food was good, hot, and fast but there is def a different taste to the calzone. Not sure if it is cheese or sauce but tastes different
Hidden gem!! Breakfast buffet has just the right amount of sweet and savory options. Bottomless mimosas were delicious. Kids enjoyed it as well. Will for sure come here again.
This was our first time here. Our server Sofia was very friendly and helpful. The owner (I’m assuming) was constantly checking all of the buffet pans to make sure they were hot and full and he stopped by our table to make sure everything was good. All of the food was delicious, especially the complimentary, warm chocolate chip sourdough bread. My only complaint would be the woman in the booth behind us who was on a FaceTime/speakerphone call at full volume for 3/4 of the time we were there. It was very disruptive and disrespectful, but some people have no self-awareness. All in all, we really enjoyed our brunch and will definitely be back again!
The past three times we’ve came here, we’ve had such a good experience and our dinners were delicious. this time around we got the chicken piccata and it barely had any flavor. I couldn’t taste the lemon or the white wine, and thought the chicken tasted pretty bland. The fresh pasta noodles were good and I like that they still make the noodles fresh. I understand they’re short staffed but… it seemed like there was literally one person in the kitchen making all meals for delivery and every single person at the restaurant (which was pretty busy) and only two servers walking around that weren’t able to stop to even ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks or anything because she was so busy at the bar, taking orders, bringing food to the table, etc. Which is FINE - but this causes the service to be extremely slow. Slower that usual and even the table next to us asked to cancel their appetizer order because it was taking over 30 minutes for it to come out. We were at the restaurant for about 2 hours and we waited for our entrees to come out for about 25 minutes after we finished our appetizer, and took another 25 minutes to ask for the dessert menu to go and the check. Just a lot of waiting and very understaffed to the point where it probably isn’t a good idea to take on customers and online orders if it’s going to be super super slow. The coconut cream pie and cannoli were super yummy. I hope service is a bit reasonably faster next time like all the other times we’ve came here
We decided to stop in while driving by. We used to eat and Morgan's and decided to give Mona Lisa Ristorante a try. The breaded ravioli was delicious and came out hot. The wine list has a decent variety. I decided to try the open face ny strip steak which was listed as a favorite on the menu. I was juicy and cooked perfectly. However the mashed potatoes came out luke warm to almost cold. The garlic pizza with sausage was excellent. My husband loved it. The biggest disappointment was the major delay in getting a togo box for the pizza and the server collecting our bill. It took over 20 minutes. We had our bill ready and the server decided to take a table of 10 order. Another server saw this after she assisted cashing out her party of 8. Overall it was an ok experience. Food is great. Service was mediocre at best.
We went for the first time to experience their Sunday breakfast buffet. I felt it was very overpriced for the food that they had. Also, if you are any kind of disabled, I would NOT consider this restaurant. The buffet is set up on top of a bar and in buffet trays that are lifted and heated with sternoes. So, it's VERY high. And the food isn't very hot. The dining room is very packed with tables, so it's very cramped. The only positive thing about our experience is that the staff here are extremely friendly and attentive. I will not be returning.
Our waitress was amazing and the whole atmosphere is really nice We went there for valentines day dinner Ordered medium rare prime rib When we got our food the prime rib was way over cooked. Also ordered arancini for an app They were very burnt and not very enjoyable Although the food wasn’t the best I would for sure come back and try it again maybe because it was Valentine’s Day they were just busy and mistakes happened
OK Haddock was good but mac and cheese cold. No bud light as they didn't check the delivery and got the wrong beer. Prime Rib was tough and no flavor. Mashed potatoes were good. Riley special steak was over cooked, ordered medium and got a charred well done.
After an hour and 45 minutes, we finally had our meals served. Each meal ordered by our party of six had problems that any good restaurant would have corrected or adjusted the bill. The prime rib was not served rare, rather medium as it was the last piece left at 6:00 PM! A side portion of the baked ziti was actually served instead of the dinner portion ($18). The pasta and sauce tasted "old." The salmon did not have the white wine sauce. The sauce was a biscuits and gravy sauce which did not compliment the salmon. That was not eaten. The pinwheels were overcooked so the cheese was hardened along with the bread. They were still using Sam Adam's Summer ale at the end of September instead of the Octoberfest. I do not drink draft beer that has been sitting around. Many dishes and Muscato wine were unavailable as they were "having a problem with the distributor. A few pluses. The bread was exceptional. I believe my husband and I spent $100 on bread as everything else was not eaten. And, the salad was fresh. When I brought these concerns to the manager, she did absolutely nothing except make excuses and blame it on the waitress. No accountability, no customer satisfaction, not even an apology. Doesn't the manager know that really bad meals and service are mentioned to our ENTIRE network of friends? It's not only posted on social media. Needless to say, we will avoid Mona Lisa's as there are better restaurants to patronize.
We were in there on a Friday night not long ago. Place was busy but it looked like thew were only two people waiting tables. Greeter appeared to be either new, high or drunk...he cleaned off the table for us and brought glasses over, then 5 minutes later brought bread plates and silverware, and finally brought over menus. I ordered eggplant parmesan with spaghetti. They're supposed to be an Italian restaurant, but the spaghetti was so overcooked it wouldn't stay on the fork, it was practically mush. Eggplant was burned which made the sauce taste burned as well. I ate about 6 bites before giving up as it was just too disgusting to continue eating. Our waitress was running her tail off with a party of about 15 or 20 people, bringing over plates as the kitchen finished them, so some of the tables got part of their food while the rest of the people seated there had to watch the ones who did get food eat while they waited 10 minutes for their food to show up. When our waitress finally got a chance to check on us I told her about how bad my food was and she was very apologetic, said that a few other customers got inedible food too, and offered me a free dessert because of how bad the food was (my husband had almost finished his food so I declined having them make me anything else). They never took my meal off the bill but at that point I just wanted to leave so we didn't contest that. I've worked in restaurants as both a cook and a waitress for 27 years and know how the kitchen can get sometimes but a restaurant that is supposed to be more on the upscale side should never have sent that plate out, would have had more staff on hand on a busy Friday night, and an Italian restaurant should know how long to properly cook spaghetti and eggplant parm. 2 stars because the waitress did try to keep on top of things despite being overwhelmed, but minus 5 stars for the quality of the food. Probably won't go back.
Food is good but the service is extremely slow especially if it's takeout. Idk if they are just always under staffed but I stopped ordering from there because it's always something that's going to take them longer. Maybe it's just lack of experience by the chef and time management however they are extremely nice and it's not like they want to make you wait but that always seems to be the case. Again great people though
My husband and I relocated to Albany just over a year ago. Our kids still live in Rochester. We drove to Syracuse today for Thanksgiving dinner and our kids met us here. It was $54 dollars a person; $326 after drinks and $50 tip. The waitress was super nice and helpful. Thanksgiving dinner was so very disappointing. The buffet menu I saw online included salads, soups, sweet breads, focaccia, all the traditional thanksgiving foods, prime rib, ham with Dijon glaze with raisins, etc. We went to the buffet and chose what we could. Not everything was ready I guess even though you had to make reservations and put in your credit card to reserve. There wasn't any breads, no gravy and no prime rib. The turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and stuffing brick was very cold. And no gravy to warm it. No raisins in the ham glaze (I love raisins). I don't think there was any focaccia and no dinner rolls. The sweet breads (pumpkin and apple fritter) came out over an hour later than dinner. Other patrons were complaining very loudly. I chose to write this review instead. I am so sad that my first thanksgiving dinner dining out with my kids, after over a year being across the state, was a far cry from a family holiday dinner. And we paid really good money that pretty much broke me. I won't be back, unfortunately.
Our hostess waitress did her best but it was 1.5 hours to get our dinner. Asked for cheese 3 times , 3 people at our table asked for cheese. Never got it. No water refilled for 40 minutes.1 drink order in 2+ hours, handed me my steaming hot plate across the table instead of setting it in front of me. She had a pot holder. The wait staff hit my chair several times as they walked by….
The salmon was inedible and the mixed veggies tasted like they were frozen and barely heated up. Response "a lady who works here says the salmon tastes fine". Will not be back. Edit: that is incorrect, she did not say she would pick at it. It tasted so fishy that it was most likely a bad piece of salmon and it was not touched. It is not fair to have your wait staff address such an issue. Clearly a manager should've come to the table. On a side note, the table behind us was disgusted with their meal as well. In hindsight we should've took this as a warning, which is why I took the time to warn others.
I came here to try out the pinwheels which Iv heard such good things about, however they were pushy as if they were raw not cooked all the way. I would think for the price of them “not cheap” they would have been cooked to perfection. Disappointed to say the least. My meal wasn’t that bad however I was very disappointed and uncomfortable with the bartenders attitude. I was sitting with my family across from the bar and I noticed that she was giving these elderly people that were sitting there a hard time. This turns me off I’m sorry. I was brought up to respect your elders first most. Second with the world the way it is today we should be lending a helping hand, being happy and being there for our elders PERIOD! I will not condone that type of abuse especially after we just lost two elders in our community to violence. She should be ashamed of herself. After watching that she had the nerve to give me a nasty look, no thank you. I rather go to stellas better service better food and great atmosphere.
Horrible service. Food was horrible. I had fish that was spoiled and covered with a horrible seasoning. Had my husband smell it and he thought it was ok. It didn't taste good. I ended up sick. Husband had chicken Reggie's. Explained to the waitress wanted it MILD and it came out too spicy. When we explained this to the waitress she got upset and slapped our bill on the bar explaining she's too busy to deal with this because she's the only one working the whole restaurant. We asked to see the manager. The manager came out and told us we were just doing this because we didn't want to pay for our meals. We were floored!! If anyone knows us, we eat out a lot in many wonderful places and are very generous tippers when deserved. I have also been a waitress for many years and never had I ever experienced such unprofessionalism from not only the waitress but the manager. Manager ended up taking $20 off our bill. That wasn't the point to begin with. We just wanted to explain to them that the food was not to our liking. They pushed it to that level. Never will return! There are many other nice places to enjoy our time out.
My food was very disappointing. Haddock seemed frozen and dry. The busses sprouts which I never ordered where like microwaved. The vino was stale and bot what I ordered. The waiter was reminding us of hard times and covid. I wanted so bad to wall out. But I have alot of class. I paid and won't be returning . It's not italian. It was disgusting. Being I am italian I was very disgusted. It was dark and gloomy. And I guess the saying goes I won't be back over priced for microwave food !!! You really should be ashamed.
So disappointing, came here for the first time for a birthday dinner with family. Got to the restaurant at 7:20 pm but weren't served until 8:44. After the long wait we were excited to finally get our entrees, the food smelled good but apparently that means nothing when it comes to taste. The pasta was slimy, the chicken and clams tasted canned. I could go on. 3 out of 4 plates were sent back, barely took a bite from our plates but were still charged full price. Speaking to the manager was pointless. She was very rude and treated me as if I was just trying to get a free meal and not pay any of my bill. Which wasnt the case. She asked me what I didnt like about the food then told me I was wrong and that everyone else that comes in loves their food. I seen that the conversation was going no where. Never have I experienced such an unprofessional staff at a restaurant. Please save your money and do not eat here.
Went to a disasterious Thanksgiving dinner buffet there yesterday! Upon getting there we saw a reservation list THEY could not read. Before entering we were told the buffet was a one plate buffet. I have never heard of a one plate buffet, and checked to see if their web info mentioned this, it didn't. $50 for one plate of food?????Lobster Surf and Turf costs less!! We went and got our food, several advertised menu items were not there. What was there looked AWFUL! They had baked very thin Turkey breast wrapped around some sort of Stuffing loaf. Which was literally the dryest /hardest Turkey I had ever seen! Most of the other food was just bland! These people do not know what they are doing...PERIOD! I have eaten the Thanksgiving Buffet at The Craftsman, The Brae Loch, both had 10x the selection and wonderful food. But we wanted to try something new. Thanks for ending our trying new places! We'll stick with the winners from now on! Was this somehow just our opinion? The ladies right next to us loudly got up and left in disgust. The large party also right near us told us they had waited TWO HOURS to get served! We won't be back!
Never been so disappointed! It was supposed to be a special Thanksgiving celebration for our family with our Dad (93). Don’t even know where to begin…. Made reservations for 11 people, our table was set for 9, very tight and uncomfortable, then they come back and say we can use a 3 people table across, well is Thanksgiving and we want to be together. It was a buffet $49.95, the food was horrible! Shaved turkey and prime rib had no taste whatsoever, most of the food was room temperature or cold, then they kept running out of food (we were 1st seating) and we had to standby for a long time waiting for it (because they will charge extra if you go back to the buffet), service no good either, waiter gave us an attitude several times, looked like they weren’t prepare for it.
Was very excited to come here and eat as my family and I decided to not cook this year. After dining here, we instantly regretted our decision. It’s $45 for the thanksgiving “buffet” that comes with a super small salad and a average sized dinner plate to load with food only once (extra plates cost money). And our server was not very attentive at all. With so many options, you have no choice but to stack your plate which sucks because everything is buried underneath. On top of that, the mac and cheese and prime rib was cold causing two of my family members to not eat their food because that’s mostly what they got. We were ready to leave and asked for some sort of compensation due to most of the food not being touched. We were offered 10% of our total bill of $180. After letting them know we put a deposit of $80 down, they fixed the check and instead decided to only give us 10% off of the $100 after the deposit, absurd. Not to mention, they ran out of the haddock and cheesecake (I specifically called prior to making the reservation asking if they would possibly run out of items or else we wouldn’t go. I was informed that they would not run out of anything.) Save your money and dine elsewhere.
went to the mother’s day “brunch buffet”, made reservations for 11:30am, had to wait over 20 minutes with other parties stating they had 11:45am reservations get seated before us. Once seated after mentioning this, it took another 20 minutes to be awknowledged by a waitress for drinks. As we went up to the buffet, there was nothing, and i mean nothing in the pans left. The staff stated it was due to “transitioning to dinner at 1pm”, which is not fair to the brunch guests still in the restaurant. The coffee was cold and the mimosa was just very off. When asked if the food was going to be restocked we just received a shrug from the waitress. We each got 1 cold pancake and still paid the $35 per person (we had 3). I would never reccomend this place. Nothing was done by management to make it right. Almost $130 for 3 cold pancakes, 2 cold cups of coffee and a mimosa that was not drinkable. Unbelievable.
First off, let me say that we made reservations with this establishment well in advance (over a month), for a party of 14 for their so called "Thanksgiving Buffet". The Sunday before thanksgiving, the owner calls me to collect a $25 per person deposit to guarantee our reservation. That in itself was kind of sketchy as this was never mentioned before, but I reluctantly gave her our credit card number after talking to some family about this request. Fast forward to Thanksgiving day, we all got there on time, and stood in line for 30 minutes before we could even check in. Their lobby was so full, we couldn't move. My elderly father who's in a wheelchair had to wait outside in the cold because there was no place to put him inside. After another 15-20 minutes, I finally got to the front of the line, and told them our name, and we were finally seated after another 10-15 minutes. The two tables they gave us only had 11 place settings, and we had to go and ask what was up. They ended up giving us a second table that seated more people, and then we had to ask for water glasses, and more place settings. One of our tables had their water glasses filled up with water, but unfortunately, the other table did not. It was very dry, as my husband jokingly stated. We then placed our orders, and received our salads, and other drinks we ordered. My sister wanted the Brie appetizer, but the waiter stated that they were all out of that. When I took my children to the buffet, in the bar area, it was very very dark in certain areas, so it was hard to see all the foods. The bin for macaroni and cheese was empty, and the bin for turkey was almost empty, with tiny scraps of meat left in it. We settled for ham, a couple scraps of turkey and "prime rib", and some mashed potatoes. I did take a small gelatinous piece of dressing and gravy as well. When everyone started eating, we all discovered that this $45.95 a plate buffet that was not all you can eat, by the way, was the most inedible food we've ever encountered. The mashed potatoes were very lumpy and had absolutely no flavor. The dressing was jello texture, and disgusting. All three meat selections up there, (ham, turkey scraps, and "prime rib") was most definitely deli meat sliced very very thin. The haddock that was up there looked dehydrated and inedible so we didn't take any. When the waitress checked back in on us, and gave us the check, I think she knew we all hated the food, because we handed her very full plates back. The majority of the $32.95 turkey plate was canned vegetables, with only 2 tbsp of gravy on potatoes. I will say that the tiny amount of bread given to us before dinner was very good. The desserts of pumpkin pie (bought at price chopper, as a person in our party saw the label on the pie tin), and cheesecake were subpar. They didn't put cherries on the cheesecake as advertised either. Also, my sister and brother in law both stated the leek soup tasted like dish water. Our waitress, was very polite, but our overwhelming experience for the price, was extremely disappointing.
The bartender was loudly talking about his "swollen and bleeding ankles" as we were trying to eat. Food was terribly overpriced, under seasoned, and overcooked. Service was terrible, took 1.5 hours to receive a food and there were no refills on water. Never go here.
Update: Response here (or lack thereof) on Google shows that they don't care. A month in, and still no call back from the business or really any communication. Placed a takeout order one hour in advance. Got there and I'm told it'll be out in a few mins. Well my order took another hour before I received it. Had multiple wait staff (+1 service star for the wait staff) ask the kitchen about my order during the hour I was standing there looking like an idiot. Every time they check, "it'll be a few more minutes". They were busy and all they had to tell me was my order wasn't even being made yet and I would've gladly come back closer to when my order would've been ready. Why it was decided to string me along for an hour baffles my mind. The kicker is when I finally get my order and get home to scarf it down due to hunger and having to go to bed, 3 out of the 4 items we order had issues. Chicken parm was overcooked and was dry, flavorless, and gave my other half diarrhea. Utica greens, we asked and paid for sausage which was missing. Calamari was over salted, greasy and missing the marinara sauce to dip in. Chicken Riggies at least didnt have an issue other than the flavor wasn't there. The chicken wasn't even seasoned before it was cooked which was weird. $100 for an order that was an hour late and had multiple issues is not what I was looking for from a neighborhood restaurant. Called and asked for the owner after we noticed the food issues and she was too busy to come to the phone and was told I would get a call back. Two days now and no call. The extra frustrating part is that during my hour wait, she had plenty of time to come out to say hi to someone that requested her presence. That was around the 40 min mark and not once did she even look over or apologize for the wait.
