We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Asado! We walked in at around 7pm on Valentine’s Day without reservations and we were able to find seating at the bar. The bar counter was surprisingly large and spacious. The cocktails were delicious! But the star of the show was definitely the carrots, great pairing with Greek yogurt! My husband enjoyed his steak as well. I got the parilla mixta sampler, unfortunately all the sides were carbs and I couldn’t substitute it for anything else. Our appetizers arrived after all our main courses, seems like a kitchen mix up, but we’ll attribute it to the holiday rush. The ambiance was nice, it was noisy, but not too loud for a conversation. All in all, worth the visit!
Holy cow, what a beautiful experience! 🤩 The atmosphere was so relaxed, quiet, and cozy, the service was impeccable, and the food and wine was to-die-for. Elijah took the utmost care in serving us all evening, executing a delightful balance of attentiveness without excessive interruption. Our steaks were seared to perfection, the polenta was creamy and smokey, the broccolini was tender and flavorful, the spiced pear sorbet was a subtly sweet ending to the meal - everything was just immaculate. No complaints whatsoever.
Argentinian chophouse (wish they had Argentinian beef) does do justice with US Beef! It’s tough to get a last minute reservation, especially on a weekend, so had food to go. My order consisted of Parilla Mixta, Flat Iron and the grilled sourdough. Instead of skewered skirt steak, I had a cut of skirt steak which I wasn’t complaining! Lol. The steaks were tender, well seasoned and properly grilled to MR. Poblano plenta was creamy and buttery goodness, and their chorizo sausage was completely unexpectedly awesome! Sourdough bread was chewy buttery goodness as was the iron steak with rosemary fries. Sourdough bread far, the best chophouse in Tacoma!
Delicious food, generous portions, steakhouse or bar-like atmosphere. My wife and I came upon it while walking in Tacoma on a Friday night, and we were able to be seated despite the fact that they were quite busy. The price was somewhat steep, but once we ate it was clear why. Excellent for a date night
Very good food and service. Empanadas and steaks were very good. We went on a Friday night and they were very busy. I would recommend reservations, for the weekend at least. It was very noisy, but that didn't bother us too much. We are from out of town but if we are ever back here, we'd visit again.
Thank you to all the diners who shared their reviews! The food is really amazing. We shared a lamb dish and empanadas and the tomato soup. We loved the kick in the tomato soup, definitely not one of those usual tomato soups. And the spices used in the lamb dish made it taste heavenly! We tried to make a reservation on the phone but was told it’s full but we tried anyway and was pleasantly surprised to be seated .
This has to be my fav place for tender & well seasoned steak ever! Made a reservation, parking was easy! All of the staff were pleasant and welcomed us. I ordered ribeye & rosemary fries and omg I could eat this steak without my teeth! It melted in my mouth and the fries were chef kiss too! We are def coming back here!
We went twice in the last 30 days. The food the service are excellent! Everything is very good. With the inflation these days, it's hard to go out and actually think every aspect was good. This place delivers. One tiny nit picking would be that the cocktails could be executed with little more balance overall.
The food is genuinely very good, and I want to start by giving credit for that. However, I am leaving this review because I think the owner and management could make several improvements that would better match the name, price point, and the Argentine Asado concept. Service: We needed more attention during the meal. It felt like the team was stretched thin or not fully tuned in to the table. With better pacing, Check in was acutely great and follow through, the experience would improve a lot. Atmosphere and concept: The restaurant name and theme suggest a strong Argentine grilling culture and history, but the dining room does not communicate that. Right now it feels more like a generic café where you come, eat, and leave, rather than a place with an identity. A few thoughtful touches would make a big difference: clearer cultural storytelling, details that reflect the tradition, and an overall environment that feels intentional. Value and portion: I ordered the ribeye. At $65, the cut felt thin, and the portion did not match the price. If the steak is going to be priced at that level, the thickness and presentation should match the expectation. Details: Small details matter at this price point. The dishware and silverware did not feel consistent or elevated, and it did not match the concept of the restaurant. I am sharing this because I believe this place can be excellent. The food is strong, and with improvements in service, atmosphere, and attention to presentation and value, this could truly feel like the Asado culture history by Argentine inspired experience the name promises. We definitely will come back, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Happy New Year 2026! 🎆🥂
This was my first time here. It was on a Sunday. It wasn’t busy. Parking is nuts, good luck. The place is small, but classy. I think they must rotate their menus. What I saw online was not the menu I received at the table. Their water is filtered. Their silverware and other items on the table are higher end. Tables and chairs are beautiful. The bathrooms are clean, unisex and private. The prices are a bit steep, but the food tasted great and the service was pretty decent. I would only be back for a special occasion.
Loved this restaurant. The vibe was chill and food delicious. With an Argentinian flow to the mix every dish was delicious. I had the Parrila Mixta which was a combination of shrimp, steak and sausage with purple mashed potatoes which knocked your socks off! Definitely will be returning to experience more. 10/10
We love this restaurant. The food is always top notch, and the service is outstanding. Shout out to Kate, who we luckily always seem to have as our server.
Such a good spot! Have gone 3+ times and they knock it out of the park each time. Usually go for the flat iron steak with purple potatoes. All their cocktail are fabulous. Must get the plantains foster…
Already looking forward to going back! Service was great! Food was delicious! Drinks were delicious!
We have reservations for 7 pm , we arrive 25 minutes early. Today was a great day with Awesome customers service at the entrance and our server wax Ms, Sara H. She was very nice and lots of patience. Waiting for us to order. All her recommendations was great.Empanada Appetizer and Arancini . Great experience and our 2nd time to experience the Cucina Argentina. Love to go back and try their dessert!
Some of the best service I've had in quite a while. We tried the gnocchi and the burger. Both were executed well. Little touches like a bit of pink in the burger and seasoned fries helped the to slightly elevated. They're doing an Italian take on their menu for the month of January, so I can't speak to their regular menu. Would I say it's the best burger for the price and execution, no, but coming here is about the experience as well as good food.
Early solo dinner on a Saturday was worth it. The olives were warm, oysters chilled, and steak perfectly cooked to medium well. And the creme brulee was sweet and creamy with the perfect sugar coating.
We had a reservation and they were able to seat us slightly earlier! My first time here and the hostess was very welcoming. Our waiter gave us the time to look things over. I love that the menu isn’t overwhelming. Prices make sense for the quality of food they have here. We had an appetizer of empanadas. Very delicious! My boyfriend had the lamb and I had the mini mixta. Both were done amazing! I also added the shrimp which was worth it. We also had a side of fungi. It was too salty for our taste, but it was good nonetheless. The drinks were great with our dinner. We’d go back once we save more money!
It's nearly a 5+. I will definitely revisit and bring friends. Excellent place, great experience reasonable price. Both our entrees were beautiful and tasty. The empanadas and creme brulee were fire. My steak was perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. The fish entree, exceptional. Ceviche looked stunning, but was just ok, that's why this rating is. 4.8 and not a 5. Make reservations or come early for bar seating. Our Server was great. Make our dining experience a nice one. Looking forward to trying more entrees and Happy Hour.
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food! My wife and I came here for our anniversary and it was perfect. Even though they were short staffed from call outs, the staff were friendly and attentive and our waitress was amazing! Service took a little over an hour with appetizers and dessert, and the bill was around $140 before tip. Honestly not a bad wait considering how busy they were and how high quality the food was. Great place for a special night out, I would highly recommend!
Wow. My partner and I are avid about 5 star restaurants. This was hands down one of the greatest experiences we have ever had. This was the most flavorful meals I have ever had in my entire life. The service was worth a million bucks and sealed the deal for us 100%. I believe our waitresses name was Lois but I’m not sure. She was absolutely the most amazing waitress I have ever had in my life. We drove over an hour for this meal. We will be here in the near future!!!!!!
Absolutely amazing food and the service is top notch! Holy cow! I had the Picatta de Pollo for dinner and I honestly don't think I've ever had chicken as good as this. Outstanding. Magnificent drinks, fantastic food, A1 service, superb atmosphere... How do you beat that combination? Will I be back? Of course. Update 01/26: Came back with high expectations. Opted for the tomahawk steak to share with a buddy. The price has increased significantly but the value hasn't. I was more pleased with the chicken I had on the first visit than I was with the steak on the return. It wasn't bad, but it should have been better for a $200 dinner. I left full and having had a good meal, but I don't think I'll be back very soon at these prices and quality.
This place is great for any occasion!! Expect bold flavors that you’ll dream of later on! The chocolate hazelnut crepes for a dessert after a delicious steak is the perfect way to end your meal here! This review was made in connection with the Toast promotion
Had a delicious meal here with friends. Asado was packed on a Sunday evening but it’s an easy, comfortable vibe and our server was wonderful. My salmon was perfectly seared and fresh. Delicious. The mixed grill was excellent. Wine list has nice selections at reasonable prices. Love this spot - it’s our friends’ favorite restaurant in Tacoma and now we know why.
Wow! Definitely make a reservation if you'd like to dine in the table service area. The bar is busy too, so it may take a bit of a wait to sit and have dinner at the bar. Everything was lovely! The ambiance, the service, the food. Dishes ordered were the he Seared sea bass, and Top Sirloin.
Took my dad and boyfriend here for my dad's 64th birthday. It was my 3rd time here. Everything on the menu is spectacular. So much care and quality ingredients go into the food. And for the impeccable service and high quality food you get, the price really isn't bad at all. I would expect to spend about $60-$90 a person depending on if you order drinks and dessert. I recommend this restaurant to every person I know. But make a reservation, especially on weekends.
I used to frequent here for happy hour and came again after a few years and it DID NOT disappoint. It was super delicious. I had the flank steak with lentils. So flavorful and worth every cent. Drinks are delicious and food is authentic Latin cuisine.
Definitely a new favorite between Oly & Seattle! We recently received a gift card for this restaurant and were eager to check it out after the recommendations and reviews. Everything lived up to the hype and we’ll certainly be back. We made a reservation online for Friday evening and that was a good call - while it wasn’t too busy, we were able to seat quickly and comfortably. It looks and feels like you’d expect a Brazilian, or in this case, Argentinian, steakhouse to. Cozy, dim lights, bold colors. We appreciated the fire in the background and the longhorn decor. Service then was exceptional. We ordered drinks, an app, and our meals. Absolutely all of it was delicious. Among our favorites were the moonlight margarita, the crab cakes (!!!), and the elote gnocchi. Each of those would be definite re-orders next time. The top sirloin was also super good - the chimichurri was excellent to pair. And the side of the braised lentils… just now. Highly recommend a side of those to share! So overall, this was really great food and it felt like at a really good price. Perfect for a date night or special occasion.
Really worth your time if you come and you like steaks and so forth I went for a lamb dish and my partner got pasta the chicken empanadas we got for an appetizer we’re 5 stars and the bread they serve with the chimichurri butter and olive oil is legit 5 stars over all.
AMAZING! got the top sirloin, tomahawk steak, creme Brule! Was absolutely delicious 😋 took some time for the food to come out. BUT! Well worth the wait 🥰 I'm in love for real. Staff was AWESOME! we had Tiffany as our waitress. And after they stopped cooking the head chef was walking around asking the customers how the food was 😁 again amazing experience 👌
My husband took me here for my birthday. It wasn't busy on a Monday evening and we got there early for our reservation and they seated and served us when we got there instead of waiting for our reservation time. I got the We Got the Beet cocktail which had gin, St. Germain, beet juice for color, and some other things. Delicious and did not need amother drink. They gave us delicious bread to start off, with oil/ balsamic and a mixed butter. Then we ordered a surf and turf appetizer and that was the best part of our meal. The meats were so tender and flavorful and the sauce they came in had such bold, delicious flavors. It came with this sliced toasted bread with some herbs and what looked like balsamic on it as well. It would be fantastic as a larger portion for an entree. We each got different chicken entrees. Mine was a fried chicken breast over some pasta and his was stuffed chicken I think over what tasted like grits. They were both ok but the appetizer was definitely more flavorful and what I was expecting from this restaurant. The service was wonderul and the restaurant was beautiful. We definitely will be back and we recommend checking it out!
Food and service was top tier. We grabbed a few drinks in the bar while we waited for our reservation. We were able to get seated about 10 mins early. Kate was our waitress and I honestly wish I could experience a waitress like her at every restaurant we go to. She was super friendly and beyond knowledgeable of the menu. She provided some great suggestions and insight on multiple menu items. My husband and I were amazed but her customer service skills. The food was out of the world. My husband is a phenomenal chef so it's hard for us to go out and find meals we truly enjoy. However, this place blew our minds. We started with the Pom Drop and Diablo Martinis. Both great drinks. I ended up having 2 Pom Drops. Then we had the ceviche and oh. My. God. It was so fresh, so light and probably the best ceviche we've ever had. Then I got the pork and my husband for the ribeye steak. They were both so flavorful and cooked perfectly. Before we left we were discussing how we couldn't wait to come back and what we plan to order next time (spoiler: I can't wait to try the Sea Bass Kate talked so highly of). We ended with the crepes and the pistachio ice cream it came with was phenomenal. 10/10 experience. *not pictured: Pom Drop, Diablo Martini, Spicy Margarita, ceviche.
Great food, exceptional service, and beautiful ambiance. My wife, our 1-year-old, and I had a wonderful dinner yesterday. We enjoyed the pappardelle dinner special, paella mixta, Caesar salad, and buttered noodles. All of which were absolutely delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. I want to commend our server, Elijah. He was professional, personable, and attentive, consistently checking in on us and making sure our son was comfortable throughout the evening. I also want to recognize Trenton, who stopped by to check in and made our son laugh, adding a warm and personal touch to our experience. Overall, it was a fantastic evening. We'll definitely be coming back. Thank you for the memorable night!
We had reservations on Friday night and had a party of 14 to have dinner before a show at Jazzbones! Our dedicated waitress was Kate and she was amazing! She not only gave us amazing service but had each couples bill divided and done without any errors and no automatic gratuity! Everyone's food was delicious.
We had a lovely dinner and tremendous service from Melissa. Both Lamb and Mixed Grill plate were awesome. I found the menu prices extremely reasonable given the high quality of the food.
I ordered takeout and the wait wasn’t too long(about 20mins and they were very busy). Unfortunately i headed home without checking the bag and realized too late that i was missing an item. I called them and within 5mins was able to get a refund. The rest of the food was great and the service was even better. I’m definitely dining in next time!
This place is so badass! Best steak ive had in a long time. Great fries. My wife had chicken and salad and loved it. The service was super good, really fast and you can tell they take pride in it. Really impressive. Will be back
Haven't been back here in quite some time. Mostly because our son was such a picky eater when he was little. He's now 14 years old with a love of all food. Made our reservation for when they opened. Got seated right away. Service was amazing. The food we ordered made our son speechless. Drinks were tasty and the atmosphere put the night together perfectly. The prawn and turf blew the socks off us all. Our son now wants to know when we will be back. Really good and delicious afternoon. Excellent tequila BTW
Absolutely perfect! The food, the service and the atmosphere were above and beyond anything I could expect. The best steak I've ever had! The oysters were amazing (normally I don't eat oysters). The side dishes were all very interesting and delicious. I can't think of a single item or part of the experience I could have improved. Our server was the sweetest person (Kate)! This made our 21st anniversary dinner the best anniversary we ever had. I couldn't think of a better way to finish off such a special day with the most wonderful lady ever!!!
Been here a few times now, definitely the only pricy place I will ever go to eat, because its always been outstanding every time! Always worth the price, and amazing staff. Super friendly!! 👌
We enjoyed our visit. Server was great! Salad was large and a great starter. I had the lamb dish in polenta. Sorta like a lamb pot roast. Very tasty even if the appearance is a bit funky. The noise level is intense. All hard surfaces - which makes it a challenge to even hear someone across the table. We will be back - just not near peak hours due to the ultra high noise energy.
This was third trip in quite a few years, and while it good I am not sure if the juice (food) is worth the squeeze (cost). Something has changed from the first two experiences that other similar restaurants have harnessed. Would we go back? Probably, but it isn't going to be my first choice if we are in Tacoma. Everyone is polite, service was great, and restaurant is clean and nice. Just missing something on the palate (IMO). We did finish everything we ordered... Your experience may be different.
Escquisit experience, grill flavor is second to none. Portion sizes were good, entrees came out quickly. Service was attentive as well.
02/07/2025: The two of us popped in around 530p on a Friday night. Bar looked pretty full, dining room less than half. Staff greeted us promptly and advised no seats available until a couple hours later and offered us bar seating. Waited about 10 minutes for bar seating. Staff still attentive and acknowledged that we were waiting for bar area. Once we were seated, we were given 3 menus (Happy Hour, Dinner, and Wine List). It was nice to see the HH menu offer smaller portions of their regular menu. I like to just have a small taste of different dishes without actually having an entire serving. We ordered a couple of drinks and the HH arancini (1 arancini) and sourdough (2 slices) to start then Cesar Salad (big enough to split), Oyster Mushrooms (enough for 2), Rib eye, and Steak Frites. Overall really great dining experience. We were very happy with the crew, who were nice, attentive, and prompt. You could tell they were aware of what was going on in the restaurant. Can't complain about the food, except the steak frites. The cut was really grisly and although good flavor made it difficult to eat. Rib eye cooked perfectly and on the leaner side. Total for 2 of us was $180. Will definitely visit again.
I have heard a lot about this place, so my husband and I decided to check it out. It was small. Our server either had a bad day or was just being herself, which made our first experience with this restaurant unfortunate. But at least their steak was very good.
Stopped by Asado on a Sunday with reservations when they open at 4pm. Hostess was not very welcoming but our server was excellent. Although reservations are recommended, there were many tables still available when we left. As an appetizer for four, the Fried Cauliflower (harissa, lemon, pistachios, pickled golden raisins, chives) was absolutely delicious and the cauliflower was not overcooked. The Pappardelle was very tasty and filling. The marinated top sirloin with ancho demi-glaze was delicious; however, was delivered to our table only luke warm and not served hot enough to my liking. The bacon braised lentils served as a side with our steak was quite tasty and delicious. Another highlight of our meal was the bread served with a delicious chimichurri butter with oil. Although menu items are quite pricey, the taste and quality of the food is excellent. I think for our next visit, we'll try to find the same menu items at a better price on the happy hour menu. We will be back.
Asado's is a gem: the interior is beautiful, the service is friendly/knowledgeable, and the food is great. They don't have many vegetarian options as entrees (I realize they are a steak house), but their vegetarian empanadas, house salads, and purple mashed potatoes are sublime. For pescetarians, their sea bass is always good.
I love the food and atmosphere at this place. The service is a little slow if you come during HH. It can take a while for the food to arrive. This is my favorite Argentina restaurant in Tacoma. Update review 11/19/2022, return to this place to celebrate a birthday. Service is friendly like usual. Everything we had tonight was savory besides the Clam & Chorizo Linguine. It was very salty for me so I couldn't finish it. They do offer valet parking on Saturday and Sunday for $5. The place can be a little cold during this time of the year so make sure to layers! Overall we still think this place is a wonderful spot in Tacoma to grab a drink or dinner. Check them out if you are in the area!
I had parrilla mixta, it was way too salty for my taste but still edible; I loved the portion size and presentation. Definitely coming back to try something else.
The atmosphere was loud, and vibing, just not what we were looking for on the night. The waitress wasn't exactly rude, but was not friendly. She spoke only to me, and ignored the woman i was there with, and reacted with a face and eye roll when i asked to only drink water. I asked about including the parking on the bill, she said it was already, then outside they showed it wasn't signed for on my ticket, so i had to pay again for valet parking, which was a great price and service. I asked the waitress about the poblano polenta, and her description was so far off what actually came, we were surprised. It was good though, kind of a happy mistake. The host also found us a better table when the small one we were at was so far across from each other we couldn't hear conversation well. Overall, definitely worth another visit, just not 5 stars this time
