I had some old friends come in from out of town so of course we had to go to Masa for sushi! They didn’t disappoint, all of the rolls were great and my Chirashi was on point. Bonus points for extra shiitake mushrooms in the miso soup yum!

We have gone to Masa many times and have never left disappointed. The food is always extremely flavorful and nice portion sizes as well. Sushi menu is one of our top 3 in Tallahassee without a doubt. If you've never been you should try it. You will leave very satisfied. 👍💯🎯

Masa is a Tallahassee staple and brings back fond memories of being romanced by my now husband of 12 years... We started with coconut soup which was full of curry flavor and hot and sour. This stayed in the lanes and was mildly hot and mildly sour but was chock full of shiitakes tofu bamboo shoots with good flavor and a noticeable shot of sesame oil. We shared a very generous portion of green curry with tofu. Couldn't finish it between the two of us. But we tried! We enjoy the outdoor covered seating, the friendly service we get everything, the generous servings, and the pure flavors. A Lucy Ho classic in her series of successful restaurants. Update 2025: Masa has become a favorite again. The properly cured curry in the Singapore Noodles. This overlooked dish is one of my favorites and I think this is the best in town. And a beautiful presentation on the lunch Chirashi.

My friends and I recently visited Masa for a girl's night. Our waiter was Dominic. We were extremely impressed by his service, especially with him being on the younger side. Service in restaurants has drastically declined over the last few years, but you guys are blessed to have Dominic at your establishment. The ambiance was beautiful, the service was perfect, and the food was phenomenal!! The bean sauce for the Edamame was used for all of my food. It was that good. I will definitely be coming back!!

UPDATED 2.0 --Happy hour is MORE than worth your time and money. This place will forever be our Tallahassee stop. 😜 - Please let's give these guys a boost! It's Saturday night and they closed early because they didn't have business, but holy COW is this an amazing sushi place. Again, the SAKE FLIGHTS were amazing. The Veggie Rolls are a vegetarian DREAM, and the chef specialties are very on point. 👌 This time I went with Beauty and the Beast and I can't wait to try another one next time we come through Tallahassee. HUGE rolls for the price! The sake flight was good, but the hot sake is always my preference. Absolutely recommend the Viva Tally. 😋

Came here for date night last night around 4:30pm to enjoy happy hour and the quiet. We had drinks and calamari to start, which were both fantastic. Then we shared a salmon plate and mangolian beef together as our entrée. The service was perfect, the food was amazing.. very delicious, the atmosphere was great, the drinks were wonderful and the restaurant was very clear. We will return soon for sushi!!

This place is my #1 go to now. The food was A-MAZING. The service is excellent JADE our waitress stayed on top of EVERYTHING. The food is exquisite and well worth the money. It wakes every taste bud up in your mouth. The sushi is made to order. I recommend everything on the menu everything. The prices were very reasonable. The place was clean. The management LOGAN was very welcoming. Now I see why they have so many awards. OMG THE Desserts are amazing. I couldn’t put it in there because I didn’t eat it at the restaurant but when I got home I nearly died. SOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS I’m on my way back. AMAZING

This was a ladies night out. We all ordered different dishes and tried a little of it all. I personally had the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. We also ordered the crab and cream cheese wantons. One word; DELICIOUS! All of our food was delicious. Items that were tried were General TSO's chicken, Masa Bang Bang chicken, fried Calamari and Mushroom with garlic pepper sauce added shrimp. The only downfall was the Waitress gave the wrong information on the happy hour drinks. Not all were half priced. Give MASA a try. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. Bon Appétit!

A Birthday Delight at Masa - Fresh Sushi, Delicious Dishes, and Outstanding Service I celebrated my birthday dinner at Masa, and the overall experience was delightful. Masa might just boast the freshest sushi in the city, evident in the exceptional quality of every bite. I opted for the Honey Walnut dish, while my partner indulged in the Curry Lamb – both expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Our server deserves a special mention for providing outstanding customer service. Her attentiveness and professionalism enhanced our dining experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Masa and would highly recommend it for a memorable celebration.

I always love this restaurant. Their sushi tastes amazing and it’s always great to have dinner here. The atmosphere is lively and the hosts are very receptive.

Delicious as always! I tried the Grilled Salmon, cabbage w/bacon, and mashed sweet potatoes. The service was top notch, just like the food and the atmosphere is always pleasant.

Express lunch for $10 is a really great deal. Super delicious food, for a great price! Update (7 years later) - the express bento box lunch is now $14 in 2025, but it's honestly still a great deal. I've never had a bad meal here, but my favorite is definitely the Mongolian Chicken Express lunch.

All I can say is, I've never been to any restaurant in all my years on this Earth where I was completely and totally satisfied. With the food and the service! My server Skylar, which is my granddaughter's name, was very welcoming, kind, patient, and because this was my first time there, I asked her of her opinions on certain dishes. And boy, she was not wrong. The food was delicious. I started off with the lobster roll, which was amazing. Then I followed up with lamb chops which were tendered and well seasoned, and the asparagus was so freaking good I could have cried and I chose a salad, and I was stuffed just from the lobster rolls. I love food, and I will go all the way out for food. I ordered to go the rice with shrimp and scallop and salmon. I tasted a little bit because I was still full it was okay, but I would rather see scallops shrimp and crab, not breaded. But it was still good and edible. This is my favorite restaurant now. I would definitely be back.

This is my new favorite place in Tallahassee. I am new to asian cuisine in general and this place is great for uncultured newbies like me trying to expand their horizons. I was able to try a lot of new things with their lunch time bento box option and our waiter, Andrew, was really nice and answered all my questions. I got the Thai Coconut Curry with Tofu and my partner ordered Katsudon. I also ordered the cucumber veggie rolls which were very good. Everything was delicious. We have since been back and will likely continue to return. The second time I got the pineapple rice with tofu which was very enjoyable. Overall, I have left both times feeling very nourished and happy. Great place to go for asian cuisine!

This place was very nice. I really like the decor. Food was really good. Everything was very tasty. Plates were warm and looked yummy. Kids liked their plates. Get the soup. They loved it. Service was good. Very nice server. Over all was very nice time with the fam.

Masa is an above average, Asian restaurant near downtown Tallahassee. The flavour was either mediocre or excellent, but nothing was bad. However, anything mediocre could be made up with their large portions and affordable price. For appetizers, I shared a basic veggie sushi roll, fried dumpling, green bean tempura and had the Shanghai shrimp salad. The shrimp salad was really delicious and slightly spicy, it was my favourite appie. For drinks, I had the $10 flight of sake (cold). The unfiltered and peach glavour was my favourite. I also had an Asian peach sangria. Both were tasty, especially the sangria. For the entree, I had the tofu pad see ew. I usually get drunken noodles but I settled for this, but that option wasn't available. Kudos to the staff as they were able to accomadate my request by making my dish spicy and tofu extra crispy. This dish was okay, I think the flavour lacked a little depth. Nonetheless, I still ate a ton, and liked it enough to take the rest to go!

Omnivorous place but with fancy vegan options. Everything is so super fresh. Not served with complimentary miso or salad per usual places, but sold separately and we'll worth it. Thai coconut soup with tofu Traditional Tom kha soup, mushroom halves, gently fried tofu, onion, tomato. Perfect. Veggie summer roll with peanut sauce Shredded carrot, glad biddle, slices cuke, spring salad mix. The peanut sauce is traditional, sweet, thick akd creamy. Veggie roll carrot, asparagus, avo, cuke Seaweed salad served over spring salad mix, shredded carrots and sliced rutabaga. Very fresh with a nice crunch Cucumber wrap Veggie roll Skins on cukes! Shredded carrot, avocado, asparagus cucumber with ponzu sauce and second time with garlic miso sauce slightly sweet Some items I almost mistaken as vegan be t wet not: NOT VEGAN: Pan seared Veggie pot stickers not vegan due to bean curd in wrap NOT VEGAN Veggie spider roll Minus cream cheese and spicy mayo and eel sauce (all not vegan) Veggie tempura spring lettuce mix Indoor and outside seating. The server was very attentive and the water is the very tasty filtered kind. Sincerely, The V3gan Food Critic “Because I have Good Taste” thev3ganfoodcritic at gmail Instagram: thev3ganfoodcritic

Probably the best Asian restaurant in Tallahssee. I absolutely love their Pad Thai! Their prices aren't the cheapest but I do recommend to visit. The place also has a bar and pretty fancy atmosphere. It's a good place for a date but also family friendly.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Masa is top tier Asian food in Tallahassee! They have a little bit of everything Asian on the menu - Asian fusion at it’s finest! It’s a little pricey, but you get what you pay for here.

Nice place, our waitress was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, it took about 35 minutes for our food to be served but i think it was because the restaurant was full. Other than that I have a great time here.

Love the food... service top notch... had bulgogi rice bowl... sushi is always really good too .. another great meal! Thai coconut curry is amazing!

Masa has a fantastic daily lunch special until 2:30pm! We tried lunch express platters with Thai coconut curry and the bok choy tofu with shiitake mushroom - both were great. We also had the miso soup and hot and sour soup - I definitely recommend trying the hot and sour soup! The serve was great and the environment was nice. Definitely recommend trying this place!

Masa has a very nice vegan menu separate from their general menu. My meal was very tasty and healthy.

The interior of the restaurant is nice and well-kept, and parking is readily available. The staff are friendly. The seafood I had was exceptionally good, and the more Asian dishes were quite good as well. Although slightly under-seasoned, the nice sauces they provide made up for it.

Enjoyed dinner with my family, everything was delicious. The Pineapple Brown Rice with Chicken was cooked to perfection. The only complaint is too many onions and it was my fault that I forgot to tell them. Our waitress was very attentive. Everyone enjoyed.

Very grateful to this restaurant for accommodating a table of 9 people close to their closing time at 9 o’clock on a Sunday. Airin was our waitress. She was truly amazing! And their food was delicious. My favorite was their stuffed fried oyster. It’s just a 3 piece type of appetizer but it’s delicious. We also loved the mango tuna. Here’s photo. We really appreciated how they stayed late for us and were happy to do so. Very nice experience and look forward to coming back anytime I’m around. Again very appreciative of the entire staff tonight at Masa.

Oh, Masa, Masa, how I love thee! Scrumptious food, impeccable service, quiet and cozy tables in soft lighting. Probably my favorite restaurant in Tally. (Except for maybe Kool Beanz.)

Great food, great drinks, and Mason, our server, was AWESOME!!!! Fun but professional, and he made sure we'd be happy with everything we ordered. MASA is a Tallahassee institution for a reason.

This is wonderful Asian fusion restaurant with Japanese and Thai food, and sushi and sashimi. We started with edamame and pot stickers which were delicious. I also had Thai coconut soup as a starter. I enjoyed it greatly. It had just the right amount of spicy, the broth tasted great. I had the tonkatsu (fried pork cutlets) as the main course. It was a large portion, cooked well, and tasted great, especially with the katsu sauce. The side of fried rice was a little dry though, that is my only criticism. Our server, Sierra was friendly, courteous, and attentive. She took excellent care of us. Strongly recommend this restaurant if you are in Tallahassee.

Skylar was our server and gave us the dining experience of a lifetime! Specialized suggestions, extra time with the menu, special treats brought out pro-bono for our honeymoon. Seriously an amazing staff, meal and experience. The manager was so friendly as well, she spoke with us for at least 10 min about her favorite things in the area. Love it!

We enjoyed this place. My husband had the lamb chops which were amazing. My son and I both had the miso ramen. The ramen was just okay, but I really liked the fried rice. I prefer a soft boiled egg in my ramen. The broth wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping, but it was okay. I'd go there again to try something else on the menu based on how amazing my husband's meal was and the fried rice.

A nice, classy, Asian restaurant in the Tallahassee area. I’m always looking for new asian food in Tallahassee and this was a nice find! I came here as I go to “Little Masa” often and had heard these two were connected. But don’t be fooled, they are nothing alike. They just both happen to serve Asian food, and they’re both decent, but I actually prefer the cheaper, more casual, Little Masa. I enjoyed my time here but this is not an exceptional restaurant. The food is decent, but could use more seasoning, especially as an Asian restaurant. The sushi is very good but also pretty pricey. If you like seafood I recommend trying some here because that’s probably worth more of your money! I enjoyed the stir-fry noodle dish but I also think I could have made as dish as good at home. What is GOOD is their portions! They had very large portions which made the food more worth your money! Overall it’s a decent place and I’m glad to try it, but I feel that I can find better. Try it yourself! Food: The food itself is decent, I give 4 stars for their large portions. Try their seafood (pictured is their crab stir fried rice I believe!) or their sushi (if you’re willing to spend some more money!). Service: The service was, once again, decent. We had a nice waitress that checked on us every once in a while and was polite. Nothing crazy. Atmosphere: This is probably the best reason to come here, as they do have a nice atmosphere. This restaurant is “nicer”, but may also seem a bit dry and dark, like it’s missing something. As a college student, it worked for me!

Pretty good Asian Fusion with patio seating for a doggo friendly dining experience. The food was good and well portioned. We ordered a calamari Masa style which to be fair is a salad topped with calamari strips seasoned with a sweet plum glaze, a miso soup, seaweed salad, a double roll platter and a sashimi plate. I asked for the chefs to lean toward shellfish and mollusks and they happily obliged. Scallop, fatty tuna, squid, octopus graced the plate and artfully arranged. I'll visit again and explore other parts of the menu.

Masa is a delightful place with excellent service and a great Atmosphere. Their sushi is good, although the quality of the fish isn’t top tier. Prices are fair. Their side dishes are pretty standard but their non sushi dishes are underwhelming.

Ultra modern interior design, delicious food, pretty good portions too, but the place is just a little too trendy for me... if you are trendy person, then this is a five-star place for you.

Alright Thai/sushi restaurant with a full bar and indoor and covered outdoor seating options. The lunch prices are all quite reasonable and the portions large, but overall the food was only alright. The sushi was pretty decent.

We usually have a great experience at Masa. Tonight was an exception. There were a few issues with my food. Our server Hayley wasn't as attentive as we expected. We asked that the water stay filled and we had to search her out to get refills. I think the lady that helped us, was a manager, although I didn't get her name. She was very apologetic, and spoke with the kitchen about the issues I had. She discounted our bill, which was not expected. My food was replaced and we were able to finish our meals. We haven't been in a while due to COVID. We used to go for Tuna Tuesdays quite often. We will give them another chance, and hope for a better experience.

Appetizers and Sushi was the best, enjoyed it a lot. Entrees were disappointing. They were heavy handed with fish sauce. We had to send Miso Ramen soup coz it had too much of fishy smell. The guy serving us was really good and he just did not charge for the dish. Overall appetizers and sushi must try. Stir fry Udon was too salty and sweet sauce. Thai spicy fried rice was not spicy.

My Husband and I went here for his birthday, and we loved it! We got the cream cheese wontons & volcano fried oysters for appetizers, two sushi rolls - Hurricane & Shrimp & Salmon toll, two of the express platters (at lunch it was buy one get the other half off!), drinks, and a dessert. The "Great Wave" was amazing. We were able to get all of that for under $100, and it was a quality meal and experience. We will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend it to others! *** I'm still leaving a 3 star, instead of 5... because the food and service was delicious... However- My Husband and I both got food poisoning from here. We woke up in the middle of the night in sweats and sick. Very disappointed the day after his birthday, we are both sick. I noticed this has happened to others, so please... Take note, and fix the issue before it seriously hurts someone. Thanks. ***

The only reason I go back is for the sushi. The entrees are way over priced especially for the quality of what is given. The staff is really young and my waitress was very inattentive given the fact she only had 2 of the 5 tables in the dining room(I'm a server and also very observant). My lo mein was very over done and my vegetables were very undercooked.

C

Soy Ginger Cod over baby bok choi; overcooked fish served a side of hard and old rice. 🙁 Spicy Tuna roll was inedible; little fish with too much sriracha. Honey Walnut Shrimp ordered spicy; received not spicy but at least edible. Best thing about the meal was the shrimp tempura appetizer and that’s setting the bar low. Floors were sticky and couldn’t even move some of the chairs. Had to ask for drink refills. The atmosphere was decent. The service and food were subpar. Ample parking. Had great hopes for 1st (and last) visit to Masa. The food at Little Masa is much better. Go there instead!

Sushi wasn't fresh and the food was one step up from cheap buffet style places. The people were nice and atmosphere was above average for Tally.

J

The atmosphere and service is solid but the food is quite bad. They can't get fried rice right, and miss on most other things ive tried.

K
Karen Rose

There was a time when the food was good. This is no longer the case. The last two times I tried the food after a years break, the food was terrible. Additionally, the restaurant smells unclean, like dirty mop water.
