Opinions de Kasagiri Tehachapi
My boyfriend and I love going there!! There isn’t anything that we have tried that we wouldn’t order again! The staff there is very friendly, also periodically checking to see if anything is needed, which leaves the customer(s) to enjoy the company of other that they are with or just enjoy their alone time. This restaurant is not to be appreciated by its interior decorations or layout, but the true appreciation is for its food and staff. We really enjoy and I hope you will too!
Food and drinks are always amazing and freshly made. I recommend everyone to Kasagiri.
Just came back from my 3rd time here. Food is just amazing. It’s a pricey but worth every penny. Everything is so fresh. You won’t regret it. Get the sushi tacos, omg
This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in Tehachapi. I tried all of them several times and Kasagiri blows the rest of them out of the water. I won’t even bother going anywhere else anymore. So far I have tried the lobster roll (expensive but my favorite!), dragon roll, rainbow roll, baked philly, killer philly, and spider roll and they were all amazing. I also really enjoyed the deep fried soft shell crab appetizer. The salad that comes with meals is really good and comes covered in crab! Highly recommended if you are looking for a good sushi joint! I uploaded pictures of the entire menu (you can also order for carry out!)
Very surprised by this quality sushi in tehachapi! Oh my, what I have been missing out on all this time! Not only was the taste fabulous, but it was chilled just right, which I can sometimes be a little picky about. Also, don’t skip the edamame! Top notch!
This was my 1st time going and I really enjoyed the dishes. Wonderful customer services great environment!!
Their combination plates (Bento box) was so good. I highly recommend the Dragon roll! They are so nice and their service was great.
Love everything about this place. Heart attack appetizer was delicious!
Such good, fresh food. Service is always great.

Such good, fresh food. Service is always great.
Delish on all counts. This was a delectable treat. The sushi was very fresh and ample. The atmosphere was cheery and comfortable. The wait service was very attentive and pleasant as well. If you like Japanese cuisine, this is a great place to have dinner.
First time here! The Sushi is delicious and very fresh. I tried the garlic albacore roll and the scallop roll, I enjoyed both rolls. We also got a combo dinner, I believe it was combo #3 the chicken and beef were very tasty and tender, the combo also had tempura. The salad with the soy vinaigrette was outstanding. What do they put in the soy vinaigrette? If anyone knows how to make it, let me know. Prices were very reasonable. The service is good and server was very knowledgeable of the menu. Remember this was my first time there so we had lots of questions, she answered every question we asked. I will definitely go back again. 5 stars is not enough for this place I give it 10 stars across the board. Thank you for the delicious dinner and wonderful service. See y'all again soon!!
Great restaurant! I remembering seeing this place as a kid and not knowing anything about Japanese food other than that it was raw fish. It was the first and only Japanese place in Tehachapi for a long time. I no longer live in town but love to come there and eat when I am here. I’m surprised they have never expanded. As I am sure they have a very loyal following.
Sushi Virgin The Kasagiri Japanese Restaurant was recommended by a business associate to try promoting that it had to be the best sushi restaurant he’s ever eaten at. Problem is, I’m a meat and potatoes kind-a-guy. It took me a long time to delve into Korean, Vietnamese and Thai food, but they are now on my favorites list. Never wanted to try sushi as the thought of eating raw fish never appealed to me but I thought if I ever were to try, I may as well try what sounded like the best of the best. I explained to my waitress, Kiara, that I was a Virgin to sushi and that I had no idea what to choose from the extensive list of items on the menu. After a short discussion on my flavor preferences, she recommended the garlic albacore roll, the rainbow roll and the crunchy roll along with a starter salad which I ordered along with the house on-tap beer. Oh My God…., was this delicious! By far the best meal I’ve had on my two week business trip. Always a little scary loosing your virginity, but for me, I know I’ll be keeping my eye out for the next great sushi experience. Thanks to Kiki for helping me though my first experience. Always great to dine out when you have exceptional service.
The food is great, including the prices. I give them a 3.5 for atmosphere.
Outstanding service and mouthwatering sashimi! Thank you Kasagiri

First time here, recommend by a friend. The atmosphere was good, friendly staff.. little to no wait since we got there right when they opened for their dinner session. Overall the sushi we ordered was great. Tried the spider, crunch, dragon and spicy tuna roll (I like that there were options on how many pieces you can get from 5, 7, 10 pieces on rolls) Miso soup and garlic edemame. We did also order a sashimi 10 piece.. besides the sashimi that was shaped like a rose that had little to no taste not sure if that was just its natural flavor but other than that the presentation and overall taste was good. Our server was great. We just didn’t get the eel sauce and spicy mayo when we ordered it but I noticed a lot of phone orders were coming in but she was very polite and overall were satisfied with our service. Worth trying at least once
Very good Japanese restaurant. Friendly, efficient service, delicious sushi and main courses. My wife and I split a caterpillar roll for an appetizer. For mains we had the King Salmon and Chicken Teriyaki. Both were delicious. Generous portions too!

The food was great. We had the baked salmon roll, and the crunchy roll. Super delicious. Fried rice was great and the ramen was AWESOME. Unfortunately, the service was just not great. I didn’t mind our food taking a while to come out, but, the attentiveness was lacking. We had to remind them to put in an order of beef fried rice that we ordered 40 mins before it finally came. When we asked them, they had just put it in. In addition, our original order of a deep fried shrimp roll, took about an hour or so to come out, unfortunately, we had to remind them of that order as well. Service wise, they tried their best but, when you’re eating out with kids and are trying to be in and out, and there’s a lack of attentiveness, it really dampens the experience.

Heard good things about this place and was expecting more from it. Am from out of town and not a great first experience. Waited several minutes before I was even greeted. Then I ordered a combination which came with miso soup that she forgot to deliver first and then they asked if I wanted it to go. It says they use Ribeye - if that is indeed true- it was the toughest tasteless ribeye I have ever had. I am a big fan of Gyoza but not of theirs and their dipping sauce was odd- more like a BBQ sauce. Never had anything like it before. The Tempura was good. Overall, it was just ok. Not sure I would come back when in town again.

TLDNR: Poor service, too expensive, meager portion sizes that do not reflect the high price. This is our third favorite sushi place in town (of 3). We don't come often, but we tried it again after years because my family wanted sushi and everywhere else is closed Mondays. We were there from about 5:30 to 7:30 because it took just that LOOOOOONG for everything. About 2 hrs end to end. I felt bad for the waitress because she was bussing and serving 100% alone... This is why I didn't give it a 1 star. However, she NEVER refilled our drinks or showed any hustle. My young son spilled his Ramune right in front of her and she left, we assumed, to get some napkins...nope. Wife had to track her down and ask proactively before we got any napkins. The sushi itself tasted fine, nothing to write home about. HOWEVER the "wasabi" was clearly and unmistakably just green horseradish. The nigiri I ordered had paper-thin and finger width fish atop a skimpy, skinny portion of sushi rice to compensate for the tiny meat. They ONLY carry low-sodium soy sauce, no other option. Why not let us decide whether we want the bland, low sodium variety? The decor inside seems rundown and everything could use a good scrubbing. The real shame is these guys have interesting and creative rolls. I can tell that someone *used to* be an inspired and aspiration chef here, but things have declined so slowly it's become normal to them. The bill was also unexpectedly high for what we got...more than we'd spend at the nicer place a few blocks down. From now on, we'll skip sushi on Mondays. I really, really wanted to like this place but it's a case of too many small things being wrong to add up to one big mess.
