Opinions de Bluewater Grill Temecula
I absolutely love this place for more reasons than one, to start the location is beautiful with a nice feng shui set up, fresh seafood can also be purchased here on top of having a delicious meal! Their staff are all amazing, from the host, to the wait staff. Anytime we have guest from out of town we always bring them here to enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy the delicious food. Their drinks are amazing and not cheapy made. You definitely get your money's worth here.
I love this place, the prices are very reasonable. I have always had good service and love the atmosphere. I recommend making reservations.
Living in Southern California, I have tried numerous fish restaurants. The Bluewater Grill rises above all of them. I ordered the swordfish which had been fresh caught that morning off the shores of Catalina Island. The restaurant owns its own boat and caught the swordfish with a harpoon! All 5 in my party ordered fish, and each kind was cooked to perfection. The blackened Mahi Mahi had a ton of flavor and my swordfish was grilled nicely. The sides were also tasty. After eating, the rolled the giant swordfish they had just caught around the restaurant on a giant cart, just to prove how fresh is was. I also decided to give their soups a try. If you can't decide between new England and Manhattan chowder, you are able to get the half and half. The red was delicious but the new England style chowder was out of this world. Finally, the decor and service were both exceptional. Our server was Reed and he was able to make fantastic menu recommendations and take care of our every need. We finished the meal with a delicious vanilla bean creme brulee. The prices were high, but worth it for the quality of the food we received. Can't wait return here.
Update- We come here regularly, it's the Best place in Temecula! Here on Mothers's Day, not an empty seat in the house! service and food are awesome! Great food, bar and serving staff. Josh and staff, The Best under fire. Turning drinks and food like crazy fiends. Food served hot, drinks keep on coming. The only OC Resturaunt and bar in Temecula, same or batter than Newport Beach! Had swordfish, shrimp and scallops; all great and tasty! Today Scallops Ponzi Sushi, Fish and Chips with Ceasar and Coconut Margaritas!
Nice cool place to hang out. I love the fresh food menu from the sea. We came as a group and service was on point, everyone is well taken cared of. Checking out was a different experience. We got handed a tab, to scan it with our phone and put in our CC info to pay. Didn't bother me one bit but some others could have some issues and needed help with that. Parking is huge. Plus point!
Lovely, delicious and very filling. I recommend getting a wine 🍷 flight and definitely the clam chowder. Had the gemelli w/shrimp 🍤 and scallops. The sauce, the pasta, veggies and seafood were ALL on point. If you've had a shrimp cocktail....you haven't had this! Recommendation: clam chowder, shrimp cocktail and gemelli pasta w/shrimp & scallops. I've was given a 8.5 on a 10 scale on the pan seared scallops. While an EXTREMELY wonderfully creamy grits, grilled corn and asparagus were wonderful addition, however, a simple seafood reduction instead of the chive oil (the goat cheese and other flavors are overpowering and therefore the chive was lost) a shallot and cabbage slaw champagne and vinegar sauce or sauteed onions or fried onions and a more robust oil like rosemary or meyer lemon oil as a finisher. The micro greens were nice for plating... the chosen flavors were alright but bolder flavors could be better. Again, overall, great place to go to for delicious wine country gourmet. You will not go wrong or be disappointed here. 😁😋😋😒
There's not many places that you can get fresh crab. They literally will got you order a side plate if that's what you're craving with a little butter. Yes sourdough bread, I love sitting in the bar area but it's small I hope one day they make it bigger. Probably one of the best fish restaurants in Temecula!
I always enjoy myself when I've come here. This was my 3rd visit and i brought my husband for a father's day dinner. My waiter was amazing and took the time to explain some fish questions i had. My husband got lemon pepper mahi mahi, I got Cajun swordfish, and my son got the bbq ribs. All the food was delicious and the clam chowder was fantastic. Everything tastes super fresh and refreshing.
So what can I say about this place? Other than WOW just bloody awesome. We (the small family) went to the San Diego zoo and heading back to Vegas we figured why not reach out online to see what fellow reviewers recommend off the 15 Interstate for great seafood. This came up, so we made the detour. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center in Temecula CA and we were immediately seated having arrived at about 3:45 give or take. We were taken to our tables after been asked if we wanted a table or booth. Friendly staff and wait staff. Our first Server "Jen" came to introduce herself and take our orders and was full of great advice and very knowledgeable about the menu and drink selections. I ordered a Reisling with my food choices with the help of Jen as did my wife and kid for their food choices. Jen connected with my kid was personable and even shared a little about her own 2 kids. Wife ordered the Lobster Roll Kid got the Kid's shrimp Dipper I got two dishes :) the Shrimp Tacos and the fish and veggie skewers all great suggestions by Jen. Sadly Jen had to leave because she was an early shift and we came in at the end of her rotation, but she came by with her replacement "Katie" another wonderful server and assured us Katie will take care of us and Katie did and assumed Jen's role. We absolutely enjoyed our meal here, we even talked about how we would come to the San Diego area again just for their food and service. All the fish in my skewers were fresh, seasoning was not overwhelming and delicious, my kids shrimp meal, my Wife's Lobster Roll the fries my God all sooo bloody good. The presentation was that of 5 star restaurant you will find in Vegas or Paris. We cannot express how awesome this place was. Take my word for it go there. Take a detour if you are passing by it is awesome. We had Staff members stopping by, checking up on us just as Jen and Katie did. We truly felt as customers we were welcomed and treated as gold. On top of that and let me say it again the food is wicked awesome good.
The blue lighting was inviting; the service was very friendly; the food was nicely presented we chose a salad with seafood and the sautéed sanbads, both were delicious and prices reasonable
Classy but very welcoming fish restaurant which served us great prawns, halibut and salmon dishes via our server who was fantastic. Things got off to a ropey start with us being somewhat ignored by the two guys that were waiting tables, at which point a lovely woman came to apologise for our experience so far and then went on to be a lovely host. Food quality was very high and the portions where a little smaller than usual for the US which meant we shared a starter and had a main each and were very pleasantly full by the end of it. Would definitely visit again
Best seafood in Temecula!! Awesome service our server today was Michelle. She was super friendly and helpful bring us anything extra we needed!
Delicious. Wonderful service. I had the sea bass with an amazing sauce. My husband had the Salman on a cedar plank. We'll be back. Highly recommend.
We came from San Diego to grab dinner with the family. Lobster Roll was delicious! Service was excellent. Everyone was very welcoming & kind.
Great food, the calamari was very good.Friendly staff, atmosphere was good everyone was having a good time. They also have a restaurant in Newport beach that is very good.
Service has always been really Good. Great selection including local vineyards of wine. Great fresh fish counter for purchase to take home and attempt smoking or grilling or frying your own fish. Food was cooked perfect and flavor was great. I only have one complaint and that is that the portions are always more than they should be. The size ruins the plating. A lot of you might not care about that but I look at plating as a key role in my dining experience. Tonight lemon pepper Mahi Mahi on a bed of spinach and scallop potatoes. 🐟
This place is a fantastic spot to have a business dinner or even have a nice night out as a couple or alone. There is plenty of dining rooms seating and there is limited bar seating. They make fresh Caesar salads in front of you that is delicious! And all the seafood is fresh. Everything is market price here because it is fresh. They even have a market where you can buy seafood. This is the best local spot there is. Worth it!!!!
I'm thrilled to share my latest experience at Blueswater Grill, where the food was, once again, top-notch! While my steak was overcooked, the staff, particularly Gilmarie, went above and beyond to rectify the issue. The highlights of our meal included: • Hot and crusty bread • Delicious red and white chowder • Perfectly cooked fish • A decadent mudpie for dessert (the portion was generous, to say the least!) And let's not forget their incredible Bloody Mary - it's a game-changer! I've always been a fan of their oysters and clams, which never fail to make my taste buds tingle. After visiting several wineries in the area, Blueswater Grill is the perfect spot to switch things up with a Bloody Mary (or two, or three...). The combination of a satisfying meal and a good buzz is absolute perfection! Over multiple visits, I'm pleased to report that the dining experience has been consistently excellent, with a variety of meals that never disappoint. Bring on the next visit
Our family had a great dining experience. We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We all got greeted right away by the manager I believe and he gave us a complimentary appetizer-Calamari. My dish was delicious, I got the salmon with scalloped potatoes and spinach. Everything else looked really good as well. My husband ended up getting a complimentary dessert-a sundae by the waitress. Thank you.
We started our pre Superbowl celebration @ Bluewater Grill and we had an exceptional experience. Hope was our waitress and she has great customer service skills. She had a friendly demeanor, efficient, and attentive. We ordered the New England clam chowder, France's Bouillabaisse, prawn linguine and BBQ pork ribs with a side of fries. Everyone really enjoyed their choices. The chowder was a briny goodness of clams with creamy, comforting flavors. France Bouillabaisse was delicious, fresh. rich, aromatic, and brimming with seafood goodness. It's broth, fresh fish, mussels, clams, shrimp and scallops, with rouille. However, we asked for a side of linguine to add to it. The shrimp linguine was cooked al dente, the shrimp was juicy and plump. I squeezed a lemon to add zing. The ribs were grilled perfectly, the tender meat fell off the bone. Will definitely return to try the other food choices!
Great place for fish, there in Temecula. The clam chowder is loaded with clams and flavor. You can even come in and get it to go along with the delicious bread. The cioppino was some of the best I've ever had. Absolutely loaded with seafood. Perfect. The service is is also top notch. Definitely a place you should check out if you need to get your fish fix.
Showing homes to clients in Temecula today and they wanted some good fish to eat for a lunch. We all loved "Fish House Vera Cruz" in North County San Diego and we heard this was even better! We had clam chowder soup and iceberg wedge salad to start. They bring you fresh sourdough bread & butter and the soups where tasty. We had the Fish & Chips and the battered fish tacos. Everything was fresh and tasty. The Fish & Chips had a nice beer batter crust on the outside and the fish was moist on the inside. Seating was prefect inside and nice and cool. It was a hot day so this was the place to be!
We arrived a little ahead of our reservation time, so we relaxed at the bar while we waited. We decided to make the most of our time and ordered a delightful assortment of appetizers and cocktails. The Oysters were incredibly fresh and sweet, a true delight for any seafood lover. And let me tell you about the "Smoked Old Fashioned" – a masterpiece of a cocktail! If you have a soft spot for classic Old Fashioned, you must try their rendition. The smoky notes elevate the drink to a whole new level of deliciousness. As adventurous foodies, we couldn't resist trying all three Oyster Shooter options. For the main courses, we opted for the Misoyaki Butterfish, Black Cod, and Grilled Spanish Octopus, which all exceeded our expectations. Each dish was expertly prepared, showcasing the natural flavors of the seafood beautifully. The Grilled Spanish Octopus was tender and perfectly seasoned. We also couldn't resist sharing a couple of pasta dishes among our group. Both pasta options were delicious, and the two accompanying sauces were delightful complements. And the New England Clam Chowder was divine! We couldn't get enough of the rich and comforting flavors, and we happily indulged in multiple rounds of bread refills just to savor every drop. 26700 Ynez Ct, Temecula, CA 92591
I’m a seafood person. And to get a good seafood restaurant is a cherry on top. Bluewater Grill is a great place to venture to if you want good quality seafood. The host was nice and the server was very accommodating to my customization request. It was hmm hmmm good food and great service 🥰
We had an amazing experience at Bluewater Grill. The food is DELICIOUS. The staff are incredibly kind and very attentive. Big shout out to our WONDERFUL server, Justina, and the very kind general manager, Kenan. Thank you for making our time in California a special experience. We live in Michigan but will definitely be back the next time we visit. If you are unsure about where to have a meal, make this a MUST on your list.
Great anniversary dinner on a Friday night. Reservations highly recommended if you don't want a prime time wait. The service was snappy and the food was amazing. You definitely get what you pay for here and expect to leave lighter in both appetite and wallet... But it's worth it. And if you needed any more encouragement the clam chowder is Amazing!
Made from scratch kitchen that is phenomenal. We visited as a party of seven and were seated in the outdoor rear patio. The experience was phenomenal and definitely left a great first impression on us all. Three of our friends, this is their favorite and boy, are we glad they shared this gem. The table ordered multiple items from the menu. Everything ordered was spot on with superb flavor... Maryland Style Crabcakes, Ahi Tuna Poke, Smoked Albacore & Salmon, fresh made in house sourdough bread with butter. Tip on the butter for the bread: all they bring you melted butter...small difference but huge exchange on the flavor! The winner at the table was the mixed, half and half New England Clam Chowder with Manhattan Clam Chowder. The descriptions read: sea clams, cream , celery, and potato for the first. Zesty tomato base with clams, potato, onion, and fresh herbs. "Locals tip: Can't decide? Try half and half!" Hands down: new favorite soup! For a fish and seafood restaurant, this place is a treat. Located in Temecula. The atmosphere and ambience was fun and light, service was great and timely. This is definitely a place to visit and make return trips to!
The food and service is very good, can get busy but always a great experience, loved the blackened swordfish, oysters Rockefeller, creme Brule & key lime !
I heard from the local Temecula grapevine that the Bluewater Grill was an excellent restaurant and I was happy to try it. You will love the friendly atmosphere, excellent service, and the attention to detail. As a wine lover, I appreciated the full wine menu as well as the fact that the food is very fresh and delicious. Tip: They have a Temecula Valley wine flight they offer of four different Temecula wines. An excellent way to enjoy a great meal and taste of the local wineries! I highly recommend the swordfish entree as well as the brussels sprouts as a side dish. The swordfish is caught from a boat that the restaurant owns so you know it is fresh. Probably the best swordfish I have ever tasted! I feel confident in saying that this will be a place you will want to go back to again and again. I'm already planning my return visit and have my eye on the Seafood Paella Valenciana paired with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc!
Excellent service from Gilmarie for our 19th wedding anniversary at Bluewater Grill. Tiny issue with overcooked lobster but they were super cool about it and made it right very quickly. The manager Gwen kept checking in on us and was incredibly nice. Brought out a new perfectly cooked lobster tail and full sides again and never once did we gave an empty drink or water glass. We've been here only once before and the service and food were incredible both times. We will definitely be making this a regular dinner spot. I can not recommend Bluewater Grill highly enough, they really make you feel like you're part of the family. 5 stars for sure! Other wait staff that were not even our server checked in on us multiple times too. These folks are a class act from the greeting by the hostess all the way to the end as you are walking out the door. Amazing dining experience!
Wow, wow, and wow. First time eating at Bluewater grill and the food was fantastic! Wife had the black cod special, my older daughter had the cedar plank salmon and I had the cioppino. Got a taste of black cod and I would say it was the best fish plate I've ever had, hands down. My wife is a foodie and she too said it's the best she's ever had. The salmon, which I also was able to taste was amazing, cooked to perfection. And the cioppino was also so tasty making this dinner a memorable one. And, the homemade mud pie BLEW OUR MINDS. Super WOW! Food combined with great service by Melody was simply EXCELLENT. Loved it. Can't wait to come back.
A fantastic seafood place with delicious courses, perfect for a nice date night. We had heard so much about this place and friends kept recommending this place, so we went for a date night. The location is great and the inside has a nice quaint feel. The menu is extensive and the prices are not bad for places of this type. The smell of delicious fish permeates thru out. We ordered some drinks, and they have some amazing drink combos by the way! We also ordered the seabass and one of the other catfish specials. They just sounded so good. The service was great always checking on us. After an amazing dinner they brought out an anniversary key lime pie and they congratulated us. Was an amazing evening and the food was incredible. I highly recommend this place!
Excellent service in a comfortable and classy environment with exquisite food that is prepared with an eye and effort toward appealing presentation - a nice touch that shows a welcome pride in the quality of their offerings. Scallop app provided one the best scallop tastings we've ever had. Cedar plank salmon was equally impressive - perfectly cooked with a rich and tender melt-in-your-mouth moistnesss. Wonderful. Cioppino was a generous portion of mixed seafood in a marinara-style broth that was a bit lighter than some. If you prefer a broth that is not overly heavy or salty, this one is definitely for you. I loved it. There was a nice variety and balance in the seafood composition and even the calamari remained tender. A truly memorable experience that has me already planning my menu choices for a future visit. Dog friendly patio with doggy menu and complimentary dog biscuit just adds to the "creature" comforts. It is a stop not to be missed. Kudos all around. UPDATE: Over what has become several visits now, I am very pleased to note that the dining experience has been consistently excellent across the variety of meals we have enjoyed so far. Ready for more!
First time here and my expectations were surpassed! Made reservations for 630pm (we were seated a little earlier) and we were done and out of the door by 710pm!!! The place was packed! Service was amazing and very fast! Kaine was our server, he explained the menu and made great recommendations and was very attentive to our needs. Food was awesome as well, I had the chipotle blackened swordfish and the wife had the lemon pepper mahi mahi. Both dishes were delicious. Would definitely recommend coming here for a date or with family.
Delicious seafood at Bluewater! We started with some of the best Maryland crab cakes I’ve had. For entrees we had the mahi mahi and pan seared scallops which we loved. We also ordered the taste of Temecula wine flight and the waitress recommended excellent choices for us. Overall great service and the food came out very quickly. We sat on the dog friendly patio. Recommend, amazing seafood!
We joined friends for dinner here. Large easy parking lot. I did not see any signage out front but knew where it was. Indoor and outdoor seating. Tonight they had a Lobster Lovers menu to which is a soup or salad, a lobster pot pie and includes 2 glasses of wine. You have the option of the regular menu as well but we tried the special. Servers were pleasant and attentive. Side note, they have fresh fish counter with fish for sale. I forgot to mention they do put a great loaf of sourdough on the table as well. I chose the NE chowder and the wife got the salad. Both were great. Soon came the pot pie. We were all surprised there was plenty of lobster in the pie and it had great flavor. After a meal like that, all rich and delicious, we wanted dessert. We didn’t want to over do it so we split the Mud Pie. It was amazing and we left none of it. I also forgot to mention the wine. They support local wineries and served two glasses of white wine. One from Peltzer and the other from Europa. Both wineries that we enjoy and love. Not sure if our next visit will be the fixed menu or we will use the regular menu but we will return.
My husband and I enjoyed a delightful dinner at Bluewater grill. We made reservations and were seated immediately after we checked in. We had the: Clam chowder: thick and delicious. Crab cakes: 2 small cakes, the portion was smaller than I anticipated, grated it was an appetizer, but the flavor of the cakes and sauce were great. Halibut: fish was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of capers. The sides of asparagus and scalloped potatoes were tasty too. The atmosphere was chill, nice jams playing at a pleasant volume- not too loud, just loud enough to hear the songs. This is a good place for a date or family night out. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Customer service was great! We had the seafood platter (I believe that’s the name) and a Gemelli pasta dish. These were really tasty. The only thing I didn’t like was the broccolini. It was tough but that may just be my preference. The cod fish was soft and the tarter sauce and cocktail were great!
Absolutely friendly, attentive staff. They made sure our experience was the best ever. The food was fresh, cooked to perfection. Again, the staff treated us (our first time here) as if they knew us.
Amazing meal. Fresh Sourdough was perfect. Clam chowder was really good and the fish tacos were out of this world! Michelle our server was so nice and the food came out quick!! 10 out of 10
Everything was absolutely amazing. From the quality of the food to the experience. Thank you very much for your kind reply. We truly had an exceptional experience dining outside. We brought friends from out of town to enjoy your restaurant for the first time, and the entire visit exceeded expectations. We also greatly appreciated the outstanding service extended to us while dining with our pups. Please extend our sincere thanks to your culinary team as well—hats off to the cooks for an excellent meal. Additionally, thank you to the bartender for the amazing cucumber mojito; it was perfectly crafted. Fortunately, everything was so delicious that I did not even think to take photos of the food. We look forward to visiting again and truly appreciate the care your entire team puts into creating such a memorable experience.
Great seafood! I had the fisherman's platter. Plenty of food and the coleslaw was tasty and crunchy. My husband had the trout. He enjoyed it. Apparently, they have their own fishing boat and sell their catch at the front, in their seafood market. I had a wine flight, featuring wines of Temecula. I must say, Temecula wines are very good! I've never had a "White" Merlo. Very, very, yummy. Presentation was very elegant. I will be back. Enjoyed myself very much. This is a recommend!
Favorite restaurant for fish in Temecula. Relaxed casual nautical ambiance. Offers patio/outside dinning. Great spot for fresh and well prepared dishes. Attentive service. Making a reservation is the best way to avoid waiting.
Stopped in for a late lunch and it was great. So good, that we dove right into our entrees and I forgot to take photos of them. Oops. Our server was great and the buser, Ben (I think that was his name) was a standout hard worker. Food was tasty and we'll definitely add this place to our rotation and be back to sample more dishes.
I had the grilled swordfish and it was very good. Wife had the chicken and there was more than she could finish. It was a bit dry. Took the rest home, tacos tomorrow night. Service was great as well. Martini was a bit pricey. Overall we will be coming back, hope they get sole some day.
We can’t say enough about our dining experience at Bluewater Grill! The food was amazing! We loved the clam chowder, the warm lobster roll, and the Butterfish. Best yet! But what made our time there absolutely stellar was the service. Kaine is an excellent server and Brianna, the manager went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! We will be back when we’re in the area again!
Amazing service and superb quality food! First discovered on Catalina Island and soook thankful to find it in Temecula. I think the food quality is even better in Temecula too!! You can't beat that sourdough bread either!! OMG so authentic tasting. And management is the best! So thankful to have found another blue water grill location 🙏
I had the fish and chips it was great. They have my favorite malt vinegar Service was awesome. Price was good. Fiancé's striped bass was alright but felt like it needed some punch or something. Everything cooked well but could used like some garlic or something. Will try a different dish next time the waiter did warn that it was a light taste / plate. But I'll be back.
Enjoyed happy hour here which was tasty and affordable. As of July 2025 the happy hour menu prices were great. With $10 custom cocktail 🍸 prices I ordered 2 drinks: a smoked old fashioned (delish) and toasted coconut margarita 🥥 which was creamy & sweet, like a liquid dessert. The $9 firecracker shrimp 🍤 tacos served on lettuce wraps were a perfect appetizer along with the fried artichoke hearts for $6. Total=$35 without tax/tip. Not bad for SoCal prices. Free sourdough bread and butter make a nice addition to your plate. Highly recommend!
Celebrated a graduation with lunch, and this place is Top Notch, without schmantzy pricing! From the phone receptionist who took our reservation, to the greeter who seated us, to the team who made us comfortable and served our every request! The Manager was highly visible, and checked in with us, accompanied by the Chef? Chef seemed a bit shy, but needs to know that everything about the food was GREAT! A kids menu was presented with crayons for our almost 2 year old. The requested high chair was too small, so a quickly supplied booster seat fit perfectly. The seven of us were seated at a large table, in a side area. Very nice table spacing, and not noisy! And yes, it's Temecula, so show up in a T-shirt and slaps, and ENJOY! Happy to share this positive review. Congratulations on creating an environment of excellence. We'll be back!!!
We finally got around to trying out Bluewater Grill and are glad we did! We stopped in on a busy Saturday night without a reservation, but ended up waiting less than 20 minutes. We made good use of the time by grabbing seats in the bar area where we ordered an espresso martini and an old-fashioned, both of which were perfectly prepared by Kate! We were seated outside and were totally comfortable thanks to lots of heaters. We started with the calamari appetizer which was delicious and definitely enough for four people to share - note for next time! Cain brought us a little bit of their New England clam chowder to sample which was excellent! I had grilled salmon and so appreciate that it was prepared to the perfect medium rare doneness, and delicious served with green beans and scalloped potatoes. Hubby enjoyed the roasted stripe bass and finished every last bite! No room for dessert, although it was tempting as Cain explained that all are prepared in-house. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, from the hostess, to Kate and Matt at the bar, to our awesome server, Cain. We'll be back...and look forward to trying out their happy hour as well!

It was our 1st time. Went for dinner I had cioppino and my husband had fish and chips. Cioppino is my favorite I order it everyday. One of the best I’ve had. Large portion good price
We chose Bluewater because of local reviews and the Pacific Ocean 50 miles away. The Ahi Tuna ($29) was perfectly seared. Crab cakes appetizer ($17) was authentic and meaty. Unfortunately the featured Blackened Swordfish was suddenly unavailable at 5:30, “it just ran out 3 minutes ago.” The substituted Striped Bass Special $28 was a tasty substitute – even if not our choice. The “oceanfront" décor had a staged look but actually fit the casual mood. On a practical note, numerous local vineyards with visitor tasting rooms are within a few miles; so beverages here more optional.
The restaurant is really quaint. It's decorated nicely and had a calm, quiet atmosphere. The host that seated us was especially friendly and helpful with a few questions we had. Our server was friendly, helpful and extremely attentive. I ordered the rock lobster with sauteed, seasonal vegetables and au gratin potatoes (the server recommended the potatoes as one of the 2 sides I got to choose from; EXCELLENT recommendation, by the way!). My husband ordered the a steak, however they were "out" of that particular cut, (I believe it was a ribeye) so he chose a strip, instead. Along with his steak, he also had the sauteed, seasonal vegetables (double order). When ordering, he asked for the steak to be prepared rare to medium-rare... it arrived medium-well to well done. The server was extremely apologetic and rushed to replace his order. The restaurant manager came over to apologize and offered to pay for an appetizer or soup while he waited for his steak; we thanked him a declined, after all, these things happen. My lobster and vegetables were delicious, however the au gratin potatoes were the real star of the show & SO delicious! My husband's second steak arrived quickly and was actually under-cooked, (there were parts of his steak that were literally blue-ish). We didn't make a big deal of it, however we noted the issue and made a decision to not order steak if we visit again. In the restaurant's defense, it is a seafood restaurant and not everyone is a pro at making a good steak. The rest of our meal was delicious and we really enjoyed our quiet meal. We both felt the prices were reasonable for the portions we received; we both went home with left-overs. Overall, it was a pleasant evening and we plan to give them another shot. The restaurant, staff and food we're all top-notch.
My son and I went here after the movies because he wanted fish and chips, and I needed a place that served something besides meat, and Bluewater Grill fit the bill perfectly. I do have to say I was a little put off by the hostess who wouldn't let us sit in a booth because there were only two of us and to quote her" we reserve them for larger parties only" eventhough it was only 4pm and the place maybe 1/4 full. However, she did give us a "corner booth" as a consolation, which worked ok. Our service, though, was excellent and everyone else was very friendly and we very much enjoyed being there. The food was delicious, my son had the fish and chips which he loved, and I had the scallops (melted in my mouth good!). I highly recommend the dirty rice and key lime pie for dessert.
Gave an overall 4 because not all their food seems to be under the same quality control standards, where some items are spot on with everything you would expect and other items leaving you dissapointed. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and expected better. Service and all FOH staff were exceptional, caring, and attentive. Now for the food... The crab cakes were mediocre at best, especially for $20 for 2 of them. Flavor was just not there, although the sauces were on point, which actually carries the dish. Clam chowder was presented as "award winning" and anyone that has dined in the central coast knows what that expectation is. It wasn't bad but was somewhat flavorless and on the thinner side. I had to add salt, pepper, and Tabasco just to get any flavor. For $28, the Lobster Roll my wife had was just ok. Fries that came with it were definitely frozen from a bag. The lobster roll lacked the richness one would expect from a Lobster roll and, when I tried to take a bite, I bit into shell about the size of a dime... Manager was quick to address with free desserts, which is another story. Now, the star of our meal was the MisoYaki Butterfish Black Cod with Ginger Coconut Rice and fresh green beans and eel sauce. It melts in your mouth and the flavor profile had all the umami, sweet and savory flavors one craves with dishes like these. Phenomenal and would definitely order again. Now the desserts... Key Lime Pie was WAY too limey and lacked the creamy richness I have had in other key lime pies when dining out. The crust was mediocre and felt I had to smother the pie with whipped cream just mello the overly extreme tartness of the pie. Wife had the creme brulee and the brulee on top was over-fired, causing a bitter burnt taste. As you can tell by this review, the menu is hit and miss. They do some things well and other dishes just lack taste, quality, and the expectation for the price point. I did see lots of people ordering fish n chips and the fisherman's combo platter, which seems to be popular here. My thought is that they need to manage the menu better, axe the poor sellers and problem dishes, and push what they do good at.
I ate here before at the Santa Barbara location and now a second time at the Temecula one. Me and my bf shared the lobster cocktail. It was fresh and delicious. I got the halibut with scalloped potatoes and green beans which was fresh, soft and extremely thick in the best way! My bf got the lemon peppered crushed mahi mahi which was also delicious. It came with a hollndaise sauce which my bf loved. Then we got the crème bru le and Java cake for dessert. We are absolutely stuffed and enjoyed everything ! Update- ate here again and got the trout, blacked swordfish and scallops. All amazing! The server suggested getting the lemon sauce on the side with my scallops. I literally cleared my plate and ate every bite.
Great place to eat! Not too crowded nor loud inside. Food was great and service was A++++! Our little boys didn’t like their crunchy shrimp bento box, but our teenage son and hubby enjoyed their food. The rainbow trout and scalloped potatoes was so delicious! Gotta have more. We will definitely come back!
Had a nice lunch at Bluewater grill in Temecula on Saturday. Tammy and Janice were simply fantastic in their customer service with a smile. We started with drinks and the crab/artichoke dip and then ordered our entrees. My wife had the halibut and I had the fish and chips. The ambiance was positive with a happening vibe. Nice spot and recommended.
Good food but it took long to get our check because the waiter had to service table on the opposite side of the restaurant. He was a good waiter but they need to have one waiter for just the outside instead of assigning a table to each waiter and assigning them tables inside. It doesn't make sense! We were outside and he had tables inside but on the other side of the restaurant. It wasn't fair to him or us.
One of the local SoCal seafood chains that serves a good variety and great for groups if you’re looking to host something. Service is pretty standard and expected for a chain like this. I really enjoy their Seafood Louie Salad that is light and refreshing. They had a limited special for a Spanish Paella that was good to share but wish it had that crispy rice on the bottom! Large parking lot and safe pick if looking for some seafood in this area!
Found this restaurant on Google, it seemed good online, and it was. We went with no real expectation, but we quickly realized this is a bit more of a formal restaurant. The prices were all a bit on the higher end of the spectrum, but the dishes were all well made and served. The food is all fresh, and seems to be freshly made. We each ordered a different item so we can taste their variety, the only thing that seemed a bit underwhelming was the price for dish. I somewhat expected a little bit more for what we paid, no real complaints overall though. This is a great date night or a good birthday dinner type of thing, just be ready to spend a bit. The service was good, nice people, and very attentive. It's kind of in the middle of some dealerships and stuff, but the environment made me forget about all of that.

I was not impressed with the flavor on my grilled red snapper. I thought it was bland and the sauteed spinach needed some sort of seasoning. The chimichuri sauce was too oily. We also ordered fish and chips, the beer batter had a nice crisp and the seasoning was on point. I don't recommend the cole slaw, it was too salty for my taste. The fish tacos were delicious, didn't care much for the beans. I enjoyed the clam chowder, it was creamy and had the enough amount of clams. Our server named Gill, was very helpful and had a lovely attitude which is why I am giving this place 3 🌟s.
I was looking for a seafood place to have dinner came across this place. They have indoor and outdoor dining. It was a beach/nautical theme to it. The place is clean with friendly staff. We ordered the calamari fritti which was a disappointment it was over battered which masked the taste of calamari. The 2 dipping sauces one was sweet and spicy which was nice the other was more of a play on tartar sauce too mayo based for my liking. The chipotle seabass was good and the lemon pepper Mahi Mahi was good expect for the green which where so salty it was unappealing. The cucumber mojito was nice and refreshing. The experience and food was ok the staff was excellent
My friend and I had the misoyaki butterfish which I think was the best among the rest of the entrees that we ordered. The seared scallops on grits and the togorashi ahi tuna were just ok. We ordered grilled octopus for our appetizer and it was really tender. The clam chowder was ok nothing special. The service was really bad. Our waiter was not knowledgeable and he was oblivious when we were asking him recommendations. His eyes were wandering around instead of looking at us. The server on the other hand, had no system as he just stacked all the dirty dishes in his hands without a tray that caused some food to spill on my husband's plate and water on his pants which my husband just brushed off. However, we do not expect this kind of service in a restaurant more so in an expensive seafood restaurant. Finally, my husband got a free candle on his dessert that we paid which was also very disappointing!

I'm writing this forty minutes into my wait for the chicken dish; this, after ordering the burger whose only flavor profile was burnt. I sent it back and was offered the sinewy chicken dish as a replacement, then charged for both. The seafood was also just ok, and they charge to split plates. Two stars for a caring wait staff and the clam chowder that was pretty good.
Really unfortunate experience🙄 Let me begin by saying that the stars are for the service and the spinach. The waitress was great and the spinach was good. Everything else would have had to be upgraded to be considered bad. They say they were short staffed because of COVID which explains the 45 minute wait time BUT there's no excuse for the flavorless, undercooked, food. I do have to say that whoever's cooked the spinach needs a promotion and a raise.
We ordered the calamari, wood salmon, and fisherman’s platter. Calamari (7.0): pretty average calamari with octopus, good Asian and aioli to pair Fisherman’s platter (6.5): decent, but only two scallops, two shrimp, and two fish. Homemade tartar it seems like which was great Salmon (5.3): salmon was unseasoned other than a sauce, the green beans were alright, the scalloped potatoes/potatoes au gratin were mids The atmosphere was alright, the service was great, but the food was mids and overpriced for what it was. Will not be coming back.
We used to love coming here for our seafood fix,but this last dinner was surprisingly terrible 😪I order lobster everytime I come and its always been prime. This dinner was dry lobster and the scallop potatoes were drenched in butter ,almost inedible.the salad was so salty and old tasting. It saddens me because your waiters are excellent! Just need fine tuning on the dinners😊
It has been a while since we ate here. My husband and I made a reservation for last night for our anniversary dinner. We were seated at a table near the bathrooms where the temperature was noticeably colder than the rest of the restaurant. I asked if we could sit at a booth instead since it was cold at the tables and we wanted a nice anniversary dinner celebration. We were instructed by the hostess that it would be at least an hour wait if we wanted a booth. We had other plans after dinner so we took the table. That was a mistake. As our evening went on, the cold air and breeze was so bad that my back was hurting from shivering so hard. Even my husband who runs hot 24/7 was cold. I watched other tables around us get reseated elsewhere due to it being freezing while we were denied. Our appetizer and my dinner were good but my husband’s steak tasted metallic and was not good. We also heard a group seated near us complaining about their food to staff. Once we left, we noticed it was warmer outside than it was inside the restaurant. The temperature outside was 49*. Unreal. Totally regret coming here for our anniversary dinner. Will not be back.

Came out raw had to send it back Scalloped Potatoes were like Mached Potatoes Asparagus were Barely cooked Wife had their Pasta with Shrimp and Scallops..Shrimp was barely cooked and Scallops same way Our server Jody was great Anyhow i was sick all night ..
Used to love this place but it’s gone downhill! There were four of us, two of us ordered Fish and Chips, one ordered Salmon which was paper thin and literary four to five bites, the other ordered Spotted Sea Bass for $38.00 again, paper thin, one cocktail all for $183.00 dollars with a 20% Tip! Outrageous! Done with this place unfortunately but again, it’s gone downhill.
I don't know what these comments are saying but this place literally had the worst steak, lobster, and fries every ever had.. ANYWHERE.. & the bill was $200!!!! Are you kidding me?? Bland steak, fishy lobster, stale fries. I would NEVER come back here even if they paid me to. Longhorn is similar pricing and I've never been disappointed. Ruined my date night with this nonsense. 0/10 Service acted snobby like they're serving the best steakhouse in town lol Look at this picture... Tell me.. worth $200 or does a sizzler $30 steak look the same?
