The weather was beautiful, we sat outside near one of those patio heaters, though they weren’t totally needed at the time we went to eat. The service was FANTASTIC from the moment we walked in, to the bar, and the waitstaff. Drinks never went empty, the timing of the food was perfect, and the portions were huge! I had the salad… and it was enough for 2-3 people! If you go, I would caution you if you sit in the back of the patio, under the trees… watch for feathers falling… because where there are birds and feathers, there’s something else that might fall… on your head as happened to me. A bird pooped on my head!! *gag* Apparently, it’s good luck. So, I’m passing on my luck to you… because honestly the food and service are so great, I know you’ll enjoy this restaurant. Here are some food pics… that’s what you’re looking for. I recommend a skinny-rita and the salad (I tried both dressings… the vinaigrette is so bright tasting. I preferred it.)
Great Mexican food! So fresh and flavorful! The fajitas are amazing! The chimichangas are huge! Great drinks and superb service. Indoor and outdoor seating, or sit at the bar. Leave room for the frozen ice cream!
Delicious food and margaritas. Great service. We appreciate that they offer a kids menu. Beautiful walk from Arizona Grand Resort to the restaurant, will a nice paved path, flowers and music playing from speakers.
Fantastic food! Almost everything I had was great! The nachos were awesome! I love queso and shredded cheese mixed on my nachos and I like that they shredded the chicken instead of just chunks. The flour tortilla chips were great with the salsa. The elote had a bit too much lime for my taste and the sopapillas weren't my favorite. But, everything else was great!
Stopped on our way out of Phoenix for lunch. Their was about 8 of us and the service was awesome. I ordered the Fajitas and it was great. My grandkids had grilled cheese and the waitress even brought out some toys for the kids to occupy their time. She was so awesome and was on top of everything by making sure the food was good, our drinks were refilled besides the many other customers she was serving she did not forget about us. Would definitely recommend.
The Mexican Street Corn dish I ordered here was fantastic. Not a crumb left. Highly recommend.
Nice Mexican restaurant with a great selection of draft beers. The Fajitas and street tacos was excellent! A good walk from my room at Arizona Grand Resort. I would eat here again in the future. My family loved this place. Not much say other than a good Mexican place. I forgot to mention the salsa and chips are the bomb.
Best flour tortilla chips in town. Hot salsa is great too. Don the host was great!
First time trying Aunt Chilada’s was amazing! We were truly impressed with the delicious food, accommodating service, and delightful atmosphere. There was plenty of parking and when we arrived, and we were seated very quickly. We stopped in just 40 minutes til’ closing and hesitated, as we didn’t know if we’d be able to be serviced so late, but they treated us remarkably well!🥰 They start you off with crispy and warm tortilla chips plus two kinds of salsas-1 mild, 1 spicy(both were really good). We then ordered the house made guac- it was very tasty and fresh. For our entrees, we both decided on the specialty enchiladas. This platter is huge!! It comes with one asada, one chicken, and one cheese enchilada (with your choice of red, green, or Christmas salsas on top). Also comes with a side of rice, beans, guac, lettuce, & sour cream. It was $20 per platter, & very well worth it. Had plenty of leftovers too. Hubby liked the tamarind Margarita, and we had a great time dining here. Our server attended us with a kind smile and she made the experience all the better!🤓 5🌟
Stopped in for early lunch on Sunday and got to sit on the patio. Until the wind kicked up, it was an incredibly relaxing and beautiful setting. Once it got windy they accommodated moving everyone inside. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quick! This was my first time being there and the food was delicious. I’ll definitely be going back!
Aunt Chiladas is not only a beautiful restaurant that makes you feel like you're family but the food is amazing! I was really impressed with how quickly my meal was prepared and wow, did it look delicious. I barely had time to take in all the gorgeous decor around me before my plate was being delivered. I really enjoyed the staff at this restaurant and how all the elements from the vibrant colors, the pond, the outdoors area, and nice views worked together to complement my meal/ experience. If you're looking for a scenic Mexican cantina experience this is the place to go. I'm looking forward to visiting again! #aunt #aunty #mexican #mexicanfood #pond #sombrero #colorful #arizona #auntchiladasaz #auntchiladastempe
The building and grounds of the restaurant are beautiful. The service, top notch!!!. And the food? Sooooooo good. Enchiladas with red and green Chilli sauce. Sopaipilla, we're amazing And the margaritas 100% recommend!!
Me and my daughter came here and had lunch it was a wonderful experience. We sat outside and there was a beautiful duck that kept my daughter entertained while we waiting for out food. The people their were very nice and everyone was friendly. The food was great. I had a taco salad with chicken and it was so huge I couldn't eat it all. And they have a kids menu so my daughter could get something that she would enjoy also. @auntchiladasaz
Ok the reviews previous had me on the fence about coming here but I am so glad we did! Service was outstanding. Quick food and beverage delivery, they kept our glasses full and topped off our chips and salsa. Salsa is excellent! Our waitress recommended the pollo fundido and it was amazing. Husband got the street tacos and said they were great too! All staff were kind and on top of it helping one another. Very impressed overall— don’t pass up this place!
Great restaurant with a lot of Mexican food options and drinks. Very large indoor dining area along with additional indoor seating in a second building and huge patio. Located within walking distance from the Arizona Grand Resorts with a sidewalk for easy access. It also seems like the resort can provide golf cart rides to the restaurant. The frozen margaritas are amazing along with the chips and salsa. We had two different salsas, a regular one and a spicy one. Both were amazing and the spicy one definitely tasted great and built up some heat. We’d recommend this restaurant, especially if staying nearby.
I was told that this was rated as best something in 2023, and they were right! I enjoyed everything. The place can get hectic, but that tells me the place is popular. The drink list is huge and very tasty. The food was delicious and filling. The service was professional and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family.
Aunt Chilada's family just got bigger. My family and I have drove past this restaurant alot of times. We took our chances and decided to give it a try today for lunch. My wife my self and kids fell in love with the food. The service was amazing and fast. The house salsa was to die for, so flavorful and fresh. I recommend the shredded beef CHIMICHANGA it was delicious and huge portions for the price. My with had the. 3 enchiladas beef chicken and cheese. "Best enchiladas I've ever had" we're her first words after first bite. I give it 10 stars if I could. SIMPLY AMAZING.
Phenomenal food and service! Whip it up! Come here for the street corn and drinks and stay for the enchies and deep fried ice cream! Walked here while at the Grand and not only was the food and atmosphere great, our server Dalton was 100% spot on! She’s awesome, has a great smile and knowledgeable about the food and drinks! She helped make the night even better!
Great place to eat right on the property of the Grand Arizona Resort and Spa in Tempe Az. Started with good chips and salsa and a side “spicier” salsa for those that like it hotter. Opted for a flight of margaritas. Thought they would only be small 2 ounces. But they were full size !! And delicious. Our waiter Alex was attentive and recommended the Mexican street corn as a starter. Delicious! Roasted corn with tajin, cotija and just a touch of heat. We opted for the pork carnitas platter. The pork was perfectly seasoned and the guac, rice, refried beans along with a dollop of sour cream and fresh tomato salsa were perfect for the hot tortillas. 5 stars. Would eat here again. Wish we had an “Aunt” at home !
Such a good meal! Normally this place is PACKED but my boyfriend and I were able to get in super easily to sit on the beautiful patio. Our server came with a huge bowl overflowing with delicious chips and some mild and hot salsa. Two things I appreciate here - the chips weren’t too salty (which I find a lot) and I love that the salsas were separated since I’m not a huge fan of super spicy food! Drinks and entrees were good, and our server was very pleasant and attentive.
Food, drinks & service by Eric were all 10s in my book! The fajitas and beeritas are a must! The kids meals were amazing too!
Good place for a date night or to bring the family. The servings are more than enough and the food is delicious. I had the pollo fundido and it was delicious. My partner had the beef fajitas and she loved them.
This was our 5th time visiting Aunt Chiladas since moving to AZ. Every time has been delicious and consistent. We've never waited to be seated, even when they're super busy, we always get seated right away. Our servers have always gone over and above, but we recently had the most exceptional server ever. Her name is Randi and she was incredible. Probably the best, most friendly server we've ever had anywhere. Our family of four was seated in a Casita room, and fortunately for us, we were alone. The space was sooo beautiful and private. We would not have minded other people, but it just felt extra special. Randi checked on us and made suggestions and we couldn't have been happier with what we chose. Every single thing was perfect. We got steak fajitas, pollo fundito, guacamole, and kids chicken strips with fries. The prices were more than fair. Our food came out super quickly. My most favorite thing is the flour chips. They're fluffy! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Highly recommended!
Loved it. Wrote an old review giving 3 Stars. Now, the HEAT came back. My Street tacos tasted so good. My wife loved it and my kids enjoyed their meals.
It is October in Phoenix and this is a great patio to enjoy dinner on. The weather and the food are perfect. Highly recommend the flight of margarita. The flight has 3 different margaritas and each one is a full sized on the rocks drink. Three of us at the table perfect way to order, then get extra straws for sampling the other flavors.
It was decent! Not special for me. Food was average. Nothing wrong with the food but its just not wow. Service was good and fast. Overpriced!
The food was really good. I got the chimichanga asada with jalapeno cream cheese and the side of fresh cut jalapenos. The service was alright. When you go there you're waiting for a while. But all in all it's a very good place to go to. Atmosphere was amazing nice little place to go eat. First time I've ever been to a Mexican restaurant that plays country music. 🤣🌮💯
Great place with amazing ambiance. Staff was courteous. We had to wait for a table but we did have 8 people. It was quicker than expected to get in based on time they presented. We did not wait long to be served at our table. Everything was quick to be presented and brought out. The main course came quickly too. I ordered the street tacos with fish. It looked amazing on the plate. The cabbage was excellent yet the fish was lacking. It was an over abundance of toppings with a small bit of fish. The fish was overcooked too. Flavor was good but fish was too dry. My wife mentioned her meal was a little dry too. All in all a great place to pcme and enjoy a good time.
Only things that fell short was the coconut margarita and the salsa. Everything else, amazing!! The street corn was sweet and you could taste all the flavors, and the nachos were gorgeous. Pollo Fandido (sp) and the fajitas were phenomenal. Definitely suggest. Our bartender Vivianna is amazing!
There was a 30 minutes wait opening week. There was plenty of parking and shaded seating while we waited. These few weeks after opening offer a limited menu but the drinks are cold and the salsa is hot. Enjoy.
A good option for decent Mexican food if you're staying at the Arizona Grand Resort. Favorites were the salsa, the queso dip (add chorizo *it was spicy), and the Baja Refresher drink. We got it both non-alcoholic (as intended) and with Bacardi. It was light and refreshing, obviously a bit on the sweet side. Would definitely return for apps and cocktails. The entrees were good, but not exceptional and overpriced in my opinion.
Took dinner in the courtyard area. Generous serving of chips and salsa to start the meal. The salsa is very mild, which makes it suitable for all family members. The dishes ranged from serviceable to excellent. Particularly enjoyed the Tampiquena steak. A solid choice for Mexican food.
Update 11/15/22: Came here for dinner ordering the Pollo Asado enchiladas. Service was ok as they were very busy. The food was good; yet not what I had expected. I always enjoy the rice and refried beans. If I could order the enchiladas using flour tortillas I will; as corn tortillas are not my favorite. Great cocktail in the Mole’Lote Old Fashion. That was one of the best cocktails. First time here after the longest pandemic shutdown I’ve ever seen a business have. I’ve heard good things about this restaurant. Plus I’ve been searching for a place that serves a good, if not great, chimichanga. I had dined in at the bar starting with their old fashion cocktail. Chips and salsa were brought out. It was alright; a bit chunky on the salsa. The drink was fine, but no garnish of orange slice and cherries. I’d swear I was served a Manhattan though. It wouldn’t be the first time a bartender had their cocktails confused. For lunch I had the carna asada chimichanga with the green chili sauce. Good flavors. I was warned that the plate was hot. It was super hot. I don’t understand why that is. I had to ask for more sour cream. The guacamole was ok, but appeared brown as if it was out for awhile. If anything, the chimichanga could have been more crisp than soggy. It’s the one thing I love about chimichangas is the crispy and crunchy exterior. Overall I had a good lunch with good service. I look forward to my next visit.
Service was amazing! We had an awesome server who was very attentive. Ordered the chicken quesadilla and it was just okay. Fell apart. Chips and salsa are always on point here. Food was fresh. Menu is super limited now so that was disappointing.
Good food spot conveniently located within walking distance from the Grand resort. There is a path near the main lobby that takes you there. Food is pretty decent, nothing amazing.
Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere! The food wasn't very good. I'd give the food a 2. Had to return the fajitas as is was overdosed with salt. Steak Fundito was just okay, and the steak in it was slightly overcooked. The Aunt Cheladas margarita was awesome! Very pricy with below average food. Excellent service and atmosphere!
Overall, the experience was very pleasant- especially dining on the large patio with nice weather. The service was excellent, and so was most of the food... Except the fish tacos. I should've known better than to order the only seafood item in the menu. The fish tacos literally looked (see picture) and tasted like over-fried institutional fish sticks that were cut up and served room temp. Again- the rest of the food was good. But the fish tacos should either be overhauled or removed from the menu, in my opinion. Don't let this detour you from trying this place- it's great! Looking forward to returning and selecting a better menu item.
They gave like a 40% discount to lie about the experience. The service was a mess and it's pretty pricey, like 8 dollars for a cup of horchata. The food and atmosphere was great! Management needs to step up as it seems the waitstaff are over worked with not enough servers per guest. The table was rarely checked in on, which means fixable mistakes weren't addressed.
My second visit was very disappointing! Chicken tortilla soup had a writer barn like smell to it. Tacos were not bad flavorful, and fajitas were bland! This restaurant is definitely in my top 3! Salsa is so fresh and Pollo Fandido was so creamy and to die for! Black beans are my favorite and it doesn’t have Lard.
The atmosphere is very nice. The chips, salsa, and hot sauce were the highlight of the meal for myself. My wife ordered the pollo fundido. The chicken was tender and very well prepared. My son enjoyed the kid's bean burrito meal. I ordered the green chili burrito enchilada style. It was very disappointing. There was little to no flavor to the meat and the green chili sauce was not great, flavor wise, either. The meat tasted as if were made for a roast beef stew, and it was a dry as well. It could have just been an off day for the chef, but still disappointing.
Sadly, the food was not good. The rice was crunchy and the steak fajitas were not good either. The steak was dry and the onions and peppers were over cooked. Too many onions and peppers covered the plate. I had to add salt and pepper since they had zero flavor. The service was just average. We had to ask for water refills several times before we got them. It wasn't busy so he should have been more attentive. The best thing about the place is that it's a nice atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating.
Went with a group. Guac was the best part of the meal. The food was okay but bland. Enchiladas came with no sauce (?) Service was very slow. I think this restaurant coasts on its close location to the big hotel but there is SO much good Mexican food to be found in this area, I would not come back.
We had high hopes are we’re here 5/29. This place was not busy and their first question was “ do you have a reservation” we were seated and were immediately acknowledged by an African American male who was the only person running around attending to every single table outside. Keep reading it gets worst! We finally put in our order by server Yvette she’s nice friendly but no experience and gets our order wrong. They being us a single taco on flour tortilla when we asked for 3 corn. Our server goes MIA we could only get ahold of her. The same male is still running around outside to bring the rest of out tacos. Oh I forgot to mention we had our food sitting at the table until the same male brought us utensils because they had forgot, this took about 5 min. So we’re finally eating and our drinks were never made. We asked the same male running around apologizing to us and multiple tables I honestly felt so bad for him because he’s clearly not the server and not getting tipped. He brings our drinks and our missing tacos. The tacos were wrong and so were the drinks. So now we are ready to go because we’re frustrated, and ask a male who looked like maybe the manager who CANNOT manage his restaurant to get our server PLEASE. He says absolutely and she comes so we can ask for our check ok so even to pay we took another 15 min and within this time she comes to ask us if we want to go boxes AGAIN it’s like we’re waiting our breath at this point. The flow is so chaotic and we cannot come back it’s just overwhelming. Pros: •Food presentation was good very presentable, and taste was 6/10 •Beautiful surrounding •HORRIBLE SERVICE •Lost, confused employees •Stop having the people wearing black do everything they look exhausted and all waitress are MIA.
Pre-COVID this place was amazing. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. Then, as many restaurants did, they closed during COVID. When places started to open again they remained closed and it was a really sad loss. When they announced it was reopening to the public I was very excited. I was ready to taste and experience the Aunt Chiladas I had enjoyed many times before the world shut down. My family and I went in and it had changed...A LOT. The menu, the drinks, the service and it wasn't that great but not bad. This evening my husband and I decided to give it another try and it will most definitely be our last. The beans are loaded with pork, you can smell it coming from them (I am highly allergic), and the chimi my husband ordered was loaded with fat, actual chunks! (see photos). He did try to say something to the server, and the server completely ignored him and just asked if we wanted a box. Honestly , the server didn't even acknowledge any of the words being spoken to him, it was some of the worst service I have ever had. He took my plate and left the fat plate at the table and disappeared for about 10 minutes, he then congregated around the host stand with his co-workers, he was just standing there. All said and done it took us 20 minutes to get our check and another 5 to get our change. Sometimes change is good, but sadly that is not the case for this once delicious and thriving establishment. Another one bites the dust...
I didn't think this place was worth the hype honestly. The salsa was too chunky and not spicy enough. The chicken in my fajitas were too seasoned and there was no guacamole on the side. The menu is more centered to alcohol than the food itself. That's just straight up greed and highway robbery. It just wasn't a good experience. I wish I would've gotten a chimi instead.
Best thing is the ping pong table and seeing my husband's pretty face across from me. If staying at AZ Grand, go offsite or at least not here for a good meal. If you like Mexican, this isn't for you. No taco sauce? Meh
Very very overpriced. Food was mediocre and service wasn’t very attentive. The food came out cold and the light over our table was flickering the whole time. There are so many great Mexican restaurants in the Phoenix area where you could get a much better meal at a more reasonable price.
I came in from out of Town I Was told that this was a very good restaurant to go to first of all. I did not get what I ordered second of all the customer service was not very friendly. You had to keep calling them over there to get napkins to get your receipt to get water the food portion size was great. Will I go back there? No, I will not go back there. I did call the manager and I did tell him that the other portion of my food that was to be a certain way I still have it, but he was not forthcoming of telling me to bring it back up there. He will make the order ride he will corrected. He did not do anything like that so I advised to go to a different restaurant not this one.
Drunk parents leaving their kids to roam a romantic restaurant....a date night my wife will never forget. Awful. Always wanted to go here and has a expensive cost for 0 star attitude service and kids roaming free. Too top it off they only serve tacos with *mayo*.......
i decided to pay the extra fee and order in from this place… i didn’t want to leave my room at the arizona grand after a long day of travel. this was a terrible life choice! truly, this was the worst (and most expensive) mexican food i have ever eaten. do NOT make the same mistake i did. save yourself 😂
