Opinions de Vinoteca Cabernet Teofilo Llorente
The ambiance here is fantastic, and the staff seem really gentle and professional. Although I haven't had a chance to try the food yet, this place is definitely on my must-visit list! I've already made a note to come back.
I had a truly fantastic time at Hill Street Bar & Restaurant! Beyond the delicious food, the striking interior decorations—especially since it seems to have been during the Halloween season—added a special, fun dimension to the entire experience. 🎃 Ambiance (Themed Decor): The sheer size and detail of the decorations, including the massive pumpkin-headed figure and the witch figurine, made me feel like I had stepped into a themed attraction. The bold and unique decor, set against the exposed brick and ceiling structure, brought a lively and distinctive energy to the whole restaurant. It's clear the owners put effort into creating a unique environment for the season. 🍽️ Dishes Ordered and Review: 1. Seven Hour Bolognese: • The name says it all—you can taste the dedication in every spoonful of the sauce, which is simmered for a full seven hours. The wide pappardelle noodles perfectly absorbed the rich, concentrated Bolognese, delivering a deep and satisfying flavor profile. This dish was incredibly hearty and flavorful. The final touch of an edible flower made for a beautiful presentation. 2. Prime Rib French Dip with Salad: • This sandwich was visually stunning, packed with tender Prime Rib on a baguette, generously topped with crispy fried onions (or similar crispy topping). The richness of the Prime Rib was superb, and the textures—crispy topping, soft meat, and chewy bread—created a perfect bite. Dipped into the accompanying Au Jus (beef drippings), the deep savory flavors were amplified, making it the perfect iteration of a classic French Dip. • The side of fresh salad offered a refreshing counterpoint, with crisp vegetables and dressing that cut through the richness of the main dish perfectly. ✨ Overall Impression: Hill Street Bar & Restaurant offers more than just a meal; it provides a delightful experience. The combination of excellent Italian cuisine (the Seven Hour Bolognese is a must-try!) and the highly personalized atmosphere made for a memorable visit. I would highly recommend this place for a date night, special occasion, or just a fun evening out. I’m already looking forward to seeing what theme they adopt next!
This was a great find! The atmosphere, service, and food were all phenomenal! The Shrimp Crostini was delightful, and the Tuscan Salmon was cooked to perfection. Oh, and let’s talk about the cocktails! Delish!
This place is AMAZING! My family threw an engagement party for us here and it was beyond our expectations. The ambiance is spectacular, live music sang by Frank Sinatra (he sounded just like him), an amazing bar with a lot of well stocked whiskeys (my fiancé and I LOVE whiskey), and great tasting food…I don’t know if the fried chicken is on the menu (it was a special request by me) but I dream about it every night. It was that good!!! And the staff…they are exceptionally good at their job. Kyle, the bartender was out of this world and Stephanie the event coordinator was so sweet and caring. Definitely coming back here for sure!
We picked this restaurant on a whim, and what a tremendously lucky break. I ordered chips and dip that included a gorgeous array of fresh, delicious tortilla chips served with a cheese/jalapeño dip and guacamole. The plate was teeming with all three, for $10! We couldn’t finish it. What?! I don’t think I’ve had good guacamole in LA for under $18. My friend ordered garlic/cheese bread, which was a delicious and generous portion. Much of it was taken home. She had the chopped Italian salad, which she described as the perfect combination of ingredients that balanced so well. I had the Chinese chicken salad, which I’m sorry to say, was kind of bland. Requested more dressing, but that didn’t perk it up much. I had chocolate mousse that was so absolutely scrumptious, I had to finish the perfect portion. It was so smooth, balanced, and gorgeously presented. Not too sweet and rich, how mousse is often served. When we arrived, the staff told us to take a pick of the available tables, and we were quickly handed menus and given a chance to review them. Service was courteous and efficient without too many interruptions. We were shocked that the place was almost empty, but they close at 7 pm; so maybe breakfast and lunch are packed? In spite of my salad, everything else was perfect. I would definitely come back to try more items. The prices were incredibly reasonable.
We loved the lunch here. Everything was amazing. We ordered the following: 1. Tuna Tartare 2. Mackerel 3. Salmon salad 4. Latte We will definitely be back!!!
You see that small cheese on top? That's the best part!!! I came in a group and we all unanimously agreed to come back here. The coffee is mandatory.
Tasteful atmosphere and very good service, this was after the lunch rush hour. The crowd varies depending on the time, but I'd say it is more on the high end of things. I hear during lunch rush hour the place is packed with people who work nearby so time yourself and unless strictly necessary don't come between 11:45am and 12:30pm. Downs:Music a bit loud (A too frequent nuissance these days in bars) I liked their tea service and that they actually had tea. I ordered chinese chicken salad, and I'd sincerely give it a 4, ot a 5 but,hey this is not a chinese food join. I'm totally coming back. Another note: Parking is challenging in this area, and this restairant-bar does not offer validation.
Great Happy Hour options for drinks. The bar director Kyle, makes a great old fashioned whiskey. The kitchen cooked me a Wagyu steak, at a very reasonable price of under $40 and still high quality.
The server was great! Very cordial. The vibe in the bar was pretty chill. I enjoyed my lunch sitting at the window. I ordered Tortilla soup which was good but may not be for everyone.
Absolutely perfect and 💯 recommend. I had the salmon and it was absolutely amazing. Hubs had a burger and it was delicious. Service was nice.
I love this little spot. It is right next to the arts complex. The service was great. It was nice and airy with high ceilings. We requested outside but they sat us by the open window and it was so much better! You really will love the Mango Mescal ;)

Honestly this place was such a pleasant surprise. That little touch of cheese on top completely elevates the whole experience. I visited with a group and every single one of us agreed that we would definitely come back. The coffee is an absolute must try and ties everything together perfectly. The overall vibe is warm and enjoyable and it truly feels worth visiting again.
From someone who is always in DTLA for work, this is my go-to spot for lunchtime. I have tried a few things on the menu, but the chicken pesto is my go-to. All the waiters are really nice, including the owner, Dan.
Decent happy hour. Mon-Fri 2-5. Would be better if it went to 6 to get more of the office crowd. The drink and bar bites specials are pretty good. I liked the old fashioned and sliders. The wings were ok. The interior is nice and pretty spacious. A few TVs over the bar to watch a game. Service was good. Friendly staff. It's downtown so parking will be tough. You might be able to find a meter nearby but it's probably easier to go to a pay lot.
Had a nice lunch. Chicken sliders were crispy. My associate had the cheeseburger and I had the prime rib french dip. Both delicious and filling. My associate had an old fashioned and a mule and I had bluesberry gin. Not a fan of the drink set up but still tasty.
Came for lunch with my coworkers. The overall restaurant was nice, it is a short walk from our work location. The food: I ordered the 7-hour bolognese and it was good, not anything special. It was very oily, which affected me later in the day and not in a good way. My coworkers ordered the burger, to which she stated the highlight was the bread, and the others ordered the chicken sandwich, where they said it was ok. Overall, I'm not sure if I would return. The service: it was almost absent. It was nice at the beginning, and then became lack luster after we received the food. We asked for more water from several servers, and it never came. Also, when they brought the check, they never returned, and they were focused on cleaning the restaurant over assisting us. The atmosphere: standard, it was a bar first based on the looks before it added the restaurant side of things.
Tasty fried chicken sandwich. All white meat with tasty slaw. The jalapenos gave it a nice kick. The bread however could have been more crispy and tough, as it broke apart a bit.
I organized an event for 30 people with Drinks and appetizers. The service was good, the drinks were flavorful and we had a great time.

This place has a really steady, consistent vibe. Not flashy, not trying too hard, just solid all around. The way the staff work feels practiced and confident, like they know what they’re doing without needing to explain it. The environment stays calm even when people come and go. It’s easy to relax here because nothing feels chaotic or loud. Overall, it leaves a good impression without needing to show off.

Service was ok, the menu was limited in offerings, the drinks were weak, and the food was bland. The only reason that they are getting three stars is because the server was nice. I will not be going back. 3/10 recommend.

The food was alright. The food tasted a tad bit boring and basic. I ordered the Spaghetti Marinara, i sort of regret it. Unfortunately, i wasn't satisfied with the "spaghetti" because it had excessive sauce in it. My friend got the salmon plate and it looked amazing. My other friend got the burger; and the only reason why the burger sounded good on the menu or made a "difference", was because it was stacked "high". Each one of us only got 1 napkin. Our cups got refilled when we were almost getting ready to leave. Seemed like they needed more waiters; perhaps? The atmosphere is pretty.
