The only complaint was the young lady who seats customers. She did not make eye contact nor did she greet us. She grabbed 2 menus, seated us and left. No, words were spoken. Our server was excellent but the 1st young lady should not be the first person you see. Maybe she was having a bad day but that's no excuse for being rude. It was about 4pm Oct.3rd. Worst initial encounter we've ever had at a restaurant.

Sim, was our waiter and he was very attentive with everything that he did for our large party of 17 he handled it all by himself. He recommended stuff on the menu and drinks as well! I would definitely give him a 10 out of 10 one of the best waiters I’ve had here!

We enjoyed a great dinner here yesterday. When we walked in, the hostesses were friendly and welcoming. The food was prompt, accurate, hot and delicious. On top of the great company and food, we received EXCELLENT service from Autumn. She stayed on top of everything we needed, never kept us waiting and even continued to follow up with us after our bill was paid (often times servers ignore you so you will take the hint and leave, but not Autumn, she was top notch :-D ). Gringo's, Autumn is an incredible asset to your company!

Alright y'all. I gotta be honest. I've lived here since '08 and I have never once been here until the other day. I've always been biased to my TexMex places up in League City and Webster. I know y'all know which ones I'm referring to. Anyway. This place is not far from where I live and I finally decided to bite the bullet and try it. I don't like trying new places and being let down and then paying for food that was mediocre. But.... That was NOT the case here. I honestly did myself dirty by not trying it sooner. My expectations were low but they EXCEEDED my expectations. First off. The design? Love it. I'm an interior designer and I LOVE it. It's giving modern hacienda vibe. It was so vibrant, balanced and rich. Now the food? Yes. Just yes. Lol To elaborate. I'm half Hispanic. (Puerto Rican and Dominican to be exact.) So, I'm partial to our rice. (No offense my fellow Mexicans lol) HOWEVER. Their rice AND beans were 😚🤌🏻 *chefs kiss*. I truly have not enjoyed rice and beans more from a restaurant since leaving Puerto Rico. I'm pleasantly surprised. To top it all off, for me, they had a GLUTEN FREE MENU. And if you are gluten sensitive or have Celiac, like myself, you know how rare that is. Idk how to explain the feeling but I felt so.... considered, I guess. Like. They took the time to sort out and tell you what is and isn't gluten free. And that says a lot about a company and how they view their customers. Thank you, Gringos, truly. We will be going back and my husband and I are going to be regulars for sure!! P.S. they offer veteran discount! We love companies who help out our vets in anyway they can 🙌🏻

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gringo’s in Texas City knocked it outta the park! The green sauce kicked A++ — bold, zesty, and straight-up addictive. I could drink it by the glass! On top of that, the “Soldier’s Meal” donation for veterans with PTSD hit me right in the feels. That kind of support means more than words. Great food, great mission. Hoo-rah and hats off to y’all! 🇺🇸🔥🌮

First time here with a co-worker. Our waitress is really nice and super friendly. Very respectful and had a positive attitude even though the place was busy during lunch time. Typical Mexican restaurant. Nothing extraordinary but would definitely go back

Had a great lunch here! Server was awesome! She was friendly and had a great sense of humor. Food was so flavorful and fresh, overpriced but what Tex-mex isn’t? They did have a few affordable items on the menu. Music was a little loud but we know how to talk louder. Overall, our visit was great!

This was my first time at this location. It was nice. We got seated right away. Our server was nice. Mom wasn't hungry so she ordered a single taco. She seemed to like it a lot. I had the beef fajitas. They were great.

Gringo's is is an excellent Tex Mex restaurant. I especially loved that you get free soft serve here because your "green goes further at Gringo's"! I tried enchiladas with ranchero sauce and they were good, however the cheese/queso tasted a bit processed. The refried beans and black beans were great. The salsa with the chips as an appetizer was excellent!

Upon walking in we were not greeted, this set the tone immediately. The hostess sat a family about 2 minutes in the door, 2 of the kids held the door for us. We stood there waiting for the hostess to return, that never happened. I watched quite a few employees chit chatting, walking by us & avoiding eye contact as we stood at the door but no one came our way. I took a seat, the same thing happened, employees walking to the hostess station, putting papers down with their back turned to us, at that point I asked my daughter how much time should I give them, she knew exactly what I meant because I NEVER leave before being seated. After she and I talked we agreed I should give them 10 minutes total before I exit the building and post my review. I had already put 1 star by time someone acknowledged and I was not adding any more until we left, so at that point they had to earn their stars. Here we go… Our server, Angela, was kind, but I feel she could’ve fell back a lot and allowed us to enjoy our meal, I swear it felt like she came to our table to discuss whatever every time I tried to put a forkful in my mouth. Then 1 of the servers kept peeking around the corner from the kitchen and when we’d make eye contact he’d shift his eyes. Another sever would watch us through the mirror from the opposite site of the room and through the plants as he walked to pass our table. There were others who walked out of the kitchen and peeked around the corner as if I wouldn’t notice them and the second I pulled my phone back out it got worse, it became more obvious they were watching when I began to take pics of the food when it was served. I know the tall, slim, Black gentleman with curly hair said something to someone because he overheard me tell my son, “They’re lucky, I was about to post a review and it wasn’t going to be a good one, I won’t hesitate to leave a negative review if it’s deserved”, I said this to my son as we walked pass the bar to table 1, right behind the kitchen. Anyway… My daughter ordered the Beef Fajita Bowl, she didn’t care for it at all, she said it was too cheesy, but she was going to eat it anyway. My son tried it, he agreed, the cheese was overpowering. Although she didn’t care for it, she still gave it ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ My son ordered the Fajita Enchilada Dinner with Amazon sauce and a side of black beans. My son absolutely loved EVERYTHING! My son ranked his meal ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I ordered the Seafood Enchilada Dinner with a side of veggies. My seafood enchiladas were out of this freaking world, ya hear me? Them veggies? Trash. I said what I said, all I tasted were red bell peppers. Other veggies were present along with seasonings but I didn’t taste the seasoning, I saw it but tasted red peppers. I ordered a few extras for the table, the chips & dip were like free bread at other spots across the country but they were tasty. I ordered 3 shrimp empanadas as an appetizer for each of us to try, we all gave them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ There were no words, only solence as we all took a bite into the flaky empanada. The Pollo El Dorado was to die for, it was perfect! The chicken was well seasoned and tender. I wanted to try the free dairy-free frozen yogurt at the front door as we left but I was too focused on making sure Angela got the receipt. Will I return? Your guess is as good as mine😉

Food was good but the online order wasn't when we arrived. They couldn't find the order and then assumed we where making an order. we had to show a screen shot of the confirmation. We waited about the time it would take to make that order after that interaction. The staff seemed frustrated but at least the food is flavorful. We went last night, Halloween night. We were told the wait would be 35 minutes. After 45 minutes later and seeing everyone after us be sat, I finally asked the host when my table would be ready. The 2 girls working as the hostess appeared to be miserable and didn't want to be there. I was seated immediately without an apology. The waitress we had was friendly, but did a horrible job. She forgot everything we asked for or needed. And sometimes she forgot the same things 3 times. Charged us for things we shouldn't have been charged for. Then, when my pollo marisco came out, it was awful. The chicken was way over cooked and didn't have much cream. It was mainly cheese. I had the manager Chad come over and explained to him about my meal. He had a new one come out that wasn't much better. The waitress also didn't put in my phone number to get the points for this purchase. This was a big disappointment. Hope this review reaches someone who will address these things so this doesn't happen again. Gringos is one of my favorite places to eat. 1/10 I never heard back from the restaurant after leaving this review. It's apparent that the problem starts at the top with management not carrying. From now on, I will go the Fuqua location if I ever eat at Gringos again. Very disappointing.

This place is crazy! My husband has had 2 martinis and is cut off by the manager. Not slurring his speech. I'm NO WAY acting intoxicated. I've had 3 frozen xr margaritas and am probably cut off too! Total bullshit to cut people off when they are not showing signs of intoxication! I was in the bar business for 30 years! Bartenders good. Food ok. Atmosphere is questionable depending on the day!

Most horrible dining experience in quite a while ! Had a part of 9.. we called ahead and they said 20min. We get there and wait the allotted time .. after 25-30 minutes they told us it would be another 30 minutes.. after that we were seated in separate booths (not tables) booths with plants between us .. we had no contact with our family whom we were out for our Christmas get together… they had seated individuals and couples at tables that could have been accommodated for 9 people as soon as we walked into the place ..22 people came before us for those tables that had not been reserved over phone. We asked for manager but he only went to the one table that didn’t have children and assume all is ok .. it was for them .. other than being apart from family .. This could have been avoided if the hostess and the manager are trained completely! Only thing I ate was my free ice cream and still got outrageous price for meals that could have been discounted more .. it was sub par. A whole bowl of broth and corn for my chicken tortilla soup… our ticket got all screwed up.. we just learned a lesson and just a warning to others to be prepared! The waiter deserves the tip he was told to pocket ! God help yall !
