Opinions de Silver Lake Ramen Third Street Promenade
If you're a Ramen fan, Silverlake Ramen is the best in Santa Monica/West L.A. The Spicy Blaze Ramen combo platter was tasty, filling, and affordable. The Blaze Spicy combo platter includes an appetizer (Pork. Chicken, or Vegan) karaage bites and a large bowl of Ramen with either pork, chicken or vegan. Plenty of soda and non-carbonated beverage choices (no alcohol is served at this establishment) were available. There was plenty of seating inside and some seating was available outside (unfortunately at no fault of this establishment, hostile homeless transients roaming Third Street Promenade, does not afford customers the desire to choose outside seating). Friendly staff were eager to assist with recommendations, feedback, and maintaining the cleanliness of this establishment. Pedestrian only access, as this establishment is located on the Third Street Promenade section of Santa Monica; parking available at nearby parking facilities for a fee. Would visit this establishment in the future.
Delicious ramen at a reasonable price. Great portions. Good flavors. We tried a few different options and the classic was our favorite. It was the first time for the kids having ramen and they were hooked.
This ramen spot is super yummy. The protion size is rather large and I thought the chicken was moist and had nice flavoring (Chicken is often cooked too dry for my liking). It's not a build your own bowl type place, but the selections still offered a range of bowls to choose from. I went with the Classic with had the noodles, seaweed, onions, chicken, egg and been sprouts. It's located along the Santa Monica Prominade, so you can watch people shop about, street performers (of which we got to watch one), and other various commotion from the days activities. It had counter service and then they brought you the food, but the staff was still pleasant. Over all good experience, would go again.
The truffle ramen was superduperlicious. The food took a while to arrive as the restaurant was popular with both dine-in and take-out. But I was in no hurry, sat outside and enjoyed the dusk tranquility. I did find the soup very rich but I guess that’s precisely what makes it flavorful. Wish they had a smaller size as there was no way I could finish the entire bowl. A pity!
We picked this spot specifically because my wife was in the mood for soup; I’m glad she was! This place was a great option with a nice variety. She had the Shoyu Fire, while I had the Crispy Chicken Kasaage and some edamame - both options were delicious! This is one we’ll definitely return to in the future.
One of the tastiest tonkotsu Ramens i have had. Had ramen in Australia, and Japan and this is one of the best. Super creamy pork broth, thick pork was cooked delicious and egg melts in your mouth. Noodles not to firm just right. Also had the Gyozas. They were cooked a bit different than what I'm use to and were fried, regardless they were delicious! Highly recommended stopping in if in the area. Can't fault one bit.
Walked right in and was seated quickly. The staff is nice and asked us multiple times if we were helped. We ordered quick and within 3 minutes our food was out. Now be warned mild spicy is still really spicy. The flavor of the ramen was creamy and tasty. Lots of flavor and a good portion size. A little pricey though. We also got the cucumber lemonade aid. More cucumber than lemonade but still tasty.
I was very much surprised at how good the ramen is here. We decided to dine here because we were in the mood for Japanese and the outdoor dining area along third st promenade looked like a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal. We each enjoyed a garlic truffle ramen and a pork bun. Both dishes were really high quality. The cut of pork in the ramen was super tender and delicious, and the delicious broth was smooth and creamy - you can really taste the garlic which is exactly what I wanted. This is not a restaurant however. You look at the menu, order and pay at the counter and receive a number to place on a table - the food will be brought to you when it is ready. Despite not having table service, the receipt has the option to leave a tip. I am not sure why this is even an option as there are no servers here, so why would I tip for non existent service?
Wow! I'm glad I found this little gem in the time that I was around the area, because it was delicious! So much so that I visited two days in a row. On the first day, I tried The Blaze, which was their spicy tonkotsu ramen. The creamy pork broth was as advertised, extremely creamy with a very nice kick of spicy. The ramen noodles themselves were also cooked to a perfect texture. The only fault I found was the pork protein, which I found a little underwhelming. However, that wasn't going to stop me from coming back the second day to try... The Garlic Truffle ramen. The Garlic Truffle ramen had such a nice scent and flavor of truffle, and I was craving this because my friend had ordered this the first day. Hitting it up once again with the pork protein, this time around it was delicious and soft with a slight char, so I'll ignore my pork experience from the previous day. This is the first time I've ever come across a truffle ramen before and it'll definitely be making me crave more. Overall, very generous portions and very delicious creamy broth. My friend also ordered the Chicken Karaage Bowl which came with a loooot of deliciously krisp chicken on top.
Always wanted to try this place out and my experience was amazing, Lovely to have a tasty ramen bowl by yourself reading a book at the bar table. They have different options so you can have pork, chicken, fish or miso based broth with different type of protein. Today I had (not sure if seasonal) the pesto cheese ramen (pork broth with chicken, tomato, basil and pesto drizzle) I recommend it so much. They have tables inside and out. Restroom available
Stopped by Silverlake Ramen and overall had a great experience. The service was a bit slow, especially during peak time, but the food made up for it. The truffled ramen was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—not overpowering, just creamy and comforting. You can really taste the quality of the broth and toppings. The bao buns were also excellent: soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor. They made a great starter and paired nicely with the ramen. Even with the wait, the food was worth it. If you’re not in a rush and want a solid bowl of ramen near the pier, this is a great spot.
Whenever I’m not feeling well, I always order their ramen—my go-to comfort food. My favorites include the spicy ramen called Blaze, but I’m currently trying their truffle ramen. I appreciate that they staple the bag to ensure it stays sealed. The best part is that their prices are more affordable than other ramen spots nearby. My ramen always arrives fresh and warm, and I don’t need to add any extras since it already includes all my favorite ingredients.
Almost missed it as we walked by the promenade. But it was worth it, food was good, staff was friendly and the pricing was decent…$70 for a family of 4. Portions are more than enough, clean atmosphere and very attentive staff. I had the pork rice bowl, pork was tender and flavorful. My wife had the shayo fire and the broth was rich and not too spicy.
I had garlic truffle ramen, curry rice bowl with chicken karaage, and pork bun, everything tastes good, especially their pork belly inside the ramen, delicious! Only the order system touch screen is not quite responsive.
Very delicious! I was craving ramen and it was perfect! New spot for when im in the area 😋 Edit: went back with my friends and got a spicy ramen and it was delicious! Everyone enjoyed it
I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen at Silverlake Ramen on 3rd Street, and it was really good. The broth was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The pork was tender, and the egg was perfectly cooked. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. The portion size was bigger than I expected, so I was pleasantly surprised. It was definitely filling. Great spot for ramen in Santa Monica — I would come back again.
Perfect find in cold weather. This place was consistent with the original. The broth was spot on. We all got three different flavors, all good. Service was quick and friendly.
So good! The broth was super flavorful and creamy, the chicken was tender, and the egg was perfect. Loved the corn and toppings too. Definitely coming back here again!
Loved it! First off, the ordering process is super simple — very easy and straightforward. The food came out quickly, with hardly any wait time. Prices are great, and the portion sizes are huge! Everything was really delicious, with rich flavors and perfect texture. Couldn’t find a single downside for myself. Highly recommend!

Great location on third street promenade. Great atmosphere with the art festival here . Great weather to enjoy seating outside and people watching . Food was tasty and we had good service definitely want to come back to try other food options.

Good place! A friend of mine recommended show me this location. It is 5 mins away from 2 hour free parking. Good food, everything is gooooood! A lot of pictures of my friend, he is talented filmmaker by the way!
I love this place I first came here when I was with y dad walking around looking for a place to eat so we came in sat down and ordered the kitchen Ia quite loud but whatever anyways the ramen came out after 15-20 minutes and boy was it good the brthwas tasty creamy and salty the noodles were also cooked to perfection I ur inghearea stop by and try it
Excellent food? The ramen is absolutely delicious and they serve a big portion. The place is very pretty and lively! I highly recommend this location.

This Silverlake Ramen is located on the promenade and has patio seating. It's a great place to enjoy a meal out on a nice day. My favorite here is the veggie ramen because of the ingredients and creamy broth. There are multiple textures and flavorful profiles in this ramen. The soft tofu contrasts with the crunch of the broccolini. The greens are a nice bed, and the mushrooms and corn give you nice bursts of pepper and sweetness. I add a jalapeño for an extra kick to the overall flavor.
Pretty normal fast food ramen. A bit on the heavier/oilier side. Pretty filling. Karage was surprisingly good. There are seats inside but it might be crowded depending on the time of day. Parking in this area in general is tricky but I would recommend street meter parking a few blocks away.
Not the best ramen i’ve tasted, but it was pretty tasty for it to be done in 10 minutes. I got the chicken ramen, which had a lot of spice but not a lot of seasoning. I would rate it a 7.5-8/10. The service was very good and food came quickly. The restaurant has a nice interior design.
Perfect place to have dinner after watching the BTS Exhibition "Proof." There's a bit of line to place an order. The place is kinda of small from other branches. However, good food is fulfilling our tummies. My friends love their foods, I specifically like mine... The Shoyu on fire 🔥. It's very hot, although I only use half of the sauce...😁😋
Incredibly mediocre food but incredibly good service with prime location and amazing ambiance. I tried the Tsukemen and the broth was not as strong as in other places, but the noodles were great. They put an insane amount of bean sprouts (almost as much or even more than noodles, lol), but both the food runner and the busses were so friendly that I still had to give them the 4 stars. Also, there was a super talented man singing Blues right outside (shoutout to Lenny the Great) which made the whole experience more enjoyable and added to the ambiance.
Great bowl of ramen - got the classic which is an out $20 all in. Pork was seared on the outside and soft in the inside. The soup and noodles were delicious. Seating could be more comfortable.

The ramen was delicious and a very decent portion. I paid about 18$ for the veggie ramen. Service was also friendly. The place had a very pleasant atmosphere and cool decor. There are restrooms here, but no wifi. The food is brought to you and makes a very fresh impression.

The ramen here was overall okay. It was good, but I’ve had better ramen in other neighborhoods and even in different states. The flavors were decent and the portions were fair, but nothing really stood out as memorable. That said, for the price, it’s not a bad option, and I would probably come back if I were in the area and craving ramen. It’s a solid spot, just nothing particularly special in my opinion.
You order off a kiosk screen from a set menu of ramen options and there are a ton of add ons that can get pricey fast. Service was great even with the electronic ordering start. Ramen can be described as Americanized, but it was still tasty for a lunch date. Portions are generous, so you will likely take some home.

Class ramen pork the pork Chashu tastes better than expected Blaze ramen with pork you can choose the spiciness mild is level 1 spiciness Fried Gyoza first time trying fried dumplings it matches with the sauce for combo, you could choose 1 ramen and 1 appetiser with only 19 dollar (dine in only)
Food: The crispy chicken karaage was flavorful and crisp, but some pieces were a bit stringy and hard. The classic ramen was not flavorful, was basically just boiled, maybe they expect to have added more toppings to charge for $$$ but I think the base should have been good on its own. The ground chicken bowl was okay but needed more flavor, adding the table soy sauce was helped a little. Ambiance: They left the door open so it was cold inside. The seating area arrangement makes it difficult to set aside layers/bag. Didn’t seem like a place they wanted people to hang out, felt more like a grab and go vibe

After reading so many good reviews about this place, my wife and I were looking forward to try it. Well, that was a major disappointment. If you love ramen, please do yourself a favor and go to Sawtelle Blvd (Japantown), just about every ramen place there is amazing. Okay, let's get back to Silverlake Ramen. + Cool location and slick decor + Right on 3rd street promenade + Outdoor seating where you can eat with your dog - Tsukemen ramen broth is way too sweet (in a bad way). I added 3 scoops of chili and still can't cover the sweetness in the broth. - Meat is just pure fattiness and no flavor (probably lost all the pork flavor in the broth) - Spicy ramen has no undertone flavor other than spicy. Very mono-tone ramen and forgettable. - Horrible setup to order your food. The way they setup the cashier, they might as well move the cashier machine to the front of the door so there are more room to walk around inside the restaurant. Unfortunately, I recommend people to avoid this place at this moment. I really don't have much good to say about their food.
The ramen was ok, but the service was terrible... The machines to order are obsolete, I ordered only 1 ramen and it took 35 minutes, by the time they delivered the ramen, was cold and there were 45 minutes left for the closing, I was with my girlfriend visiting LA for the first time and we ordered the ramen to go by accident, and they didn't let me sit down to eat there because they were already "to close". I had to eat my ramen at the ice cream shop next door. The manager I don’t know his name, but is a short person… He behaved like a jerk and a very arrogant person.
Ordered 3 dishes for dine-in and was told it would take 30-35 minutes. It took 49 minutes to receive 3 bowls of ramen. The tonkatsu broth and pork belly were good, however the ramen noodles were all stuck together in a mushy, glob. We were hungry and it was near closing so we ate what we could and left. We did not want to wait another 49 minutes for them to remake the bowls. There was no apology for the poor service or the mushy noodles. I’ve eaten ramen at dozens of restaurants around the world and these noodles were the worst I have ever eaten. We will not return to this restaurant.
I hope the food here is good, because the service is atrocious. Good luck if you are a delivery driver (Uber Eats, DoorDash) because no one in this place acknowledges your existence. Not even a hello.
Best atmosphere visiting from out of the state. Service was really good. The food isn’t just authentic and the portions are not that large.
Customer service is awful. The restaurant was empty when I walked in. I placed my order via a kiosk for an in-person order. There were a few people coming in after me and they were either online orders or takeout orders but they prepared their orders first and kept me wait. So it took about 30 minutes to have my ramen and I even tipped. Besides ramen tasted salty and the portion size was small. Overall I don’t recommend this restaurant especially if you dine in and don’t tip because there is no service + 30 min wait.
