1st nice warm day, great place to sit outside & enjoy the weather & a margarita and good food w it. Nice staff and very attentive...
Good, drinks and service were great! We live in Hudson and travel to eat here 🩷
Intimate seating even in a crowd. Always fresh and delicious. My favorite restaurant of all time.
My favorite Mexican restaurant. Their margaritas are so good and I love their taco Tuesday specials
MUST GO!
Excellent food. Service was quick and attentive. A real gem in a small village.
Yummy margaritas and generous portions. Nice spot and very friendly staff.
Amazing. I love the decor and their steak tacos were amazing, perfectly cooked and flavorful
Awesome food! Love their Baja shrimp quesadillas and steak tacos!
Dinner was fabulous. Food delicious and service was great. Thank you for a great evening!
The food was very good, I'm not used to the crunchy rice, so next time I'll get potatoes
Great food and excellent service. Do yourself a favor and check out wing night on Wednesday night.
For three decades, it's had consistently delicious and healthy food, an exciting atmosphere, and friendly staff.
My family and I had an excellent experience at Santa Fe Tivoli. The staff was courteous and attentive. The food was excellent and prices fair. Justina the bartender made an excellent margarita, and Emily the owner/manager was an absolute delight.
This is some of the best Tex-Mex I've had on the east coast. Everything was so simple and well made. We've made the trip to Tivoli twice now just to eat here and evey dish has been delicious. Highly recommend anything with the steak or the shredded achiote chicken. Frozen margaritas were also wonderful :).
Delightful southwestern food served in a relaxed atmosphere. Every time I visit, I know that I will have a delicious meal. If in the Northern Dutchess area, I would highly recommend visiting Santa Fe!
Outstanding service, and respectful of the current environment regarding COVID. Outdoor seating. They replaced my drink as well, and were very courteous. Will be coming back.
Santa Fe has the most amazing specials, the best service, and I would and do recommend them to everyone. Emily and all of the staff pay attention to even the smallest of details. So happy to be a regular patron!
Great food, friendly staff. All the allergies were marked on the menu.
I was with someone very special but even given that that colored my experience the food was very good and the server was superb!!!
I've loved this place .. and it's been consistently this good for hearts and years. I've never been disappointed in anything I've tried..
Called ahead, but was able to get right in with no issues, always love the food, brought salsa and chips right to us as soon as we sat down, the waitress had very good timing, general atmosphere was very comfortable and nice
This place never disappoints! I have been coming here since I was a young girl. And I love the coconut margaritas!! Yum yum yum!
This place reminds me of restaurant that I grew up with. Simple tex mex, big portions and great drinks. If you can make it for taco Tuesday do it! Lots of GF options here.
This place never disappoints! The staff is amazing and the food is always perfect. Wing night is our favorite night to bring the kids.
Very good and healthy Mexican food, nice atmosphere, great service and reasonable prices! Highly recommended, and I don't say that very often about restaurants!
Taco Tuesdays are fantástico! Great margaritas, service and the tacos are excellent - my favorite is the fish taco, but they are all delicious.
Didn't know this was a chain/franchise. Run like an owner owned restsurant. Good food, well presented and excellent service. Ate outside on the porch.
Local establishment since 1987! Great atmosphere! We'd wing night!! Jalapeno wings outstanding and fish tacos
Favorite go to for Mexican food. Great vibe, friendly, efficient staff. Great margarita’s.
Had the Buffalo cauliflower tacos & they were delish! Will definitely go back next time we’re in Tivoli.
Very good and slightly different than other Mexican restaurants we are used to.
Have been coming here for years. I love the food, the staff and the whole vib. Fun place to go with friends.
Oh my! The food was so good. Every dish was amazing. Fresh local product used to create these tasty dishes! A little pricy but so worth it.
They do not have many taco choices but if you are visiting and looking for some well assembled tacos that are a reliable option. Santa Fe is a clear winner. They are filling and each is sufficiently unique. I enjoyed the cutting sweetness of the sweet potato taco the most!
We have gone to Santa Fe over 30 times in the past 10 years. We love the pulled pork tacos. Service is great and food delicious.Always a pleasure to dine here
This place is truly wonderful. The staff are amazing, they probably have the best barman in the Hudson Valley (Matt) and there’s not a bad meal on the menu. However you like your margarita, that’s how it will come. Salsa is handmade and the taco Tuesday is a day not to be missed. A Tivoli highlight.
We had an amazing dinner at Santa Fe last night. I'm vegan with a soy allergy so eating out is challenging, but Santa Fe had a few options for me! I loved how fresh and healthy the food was - without missing out on delicious flavoring. I could eat there every night! Also loved that they served the guac with cucumber slices - WIN!
I had the Barbacoa tacos, they were great. In fact everything was good, until the guy with two unruly kids came in and ruined the atmosphere. Not the kids fault definitely the parental figure that brought them there. However the food was worth the annoyance.
Food was so awesome! We visited Tivoli for 2 nights and loved our meal at Santa Fe. Service was quick and Jordan was super friendly! Generous portions and everything tasted fresh and delicious. We loved our experience at Santa Fe Tivoli. Thanks!
Service and food were great! We enjoyed our dinner here. Don't be afraid of the specials, this kitchen knows how to deliver flavor. I had a filet mignon with a chipotle/cabernet sauce, mashed potatoes with diced poblano pepper on top, and perfectly cooked green beans. It was magic.
My absolute favorite restaurant in the entire area. The buffalo cauliflower is to die for and the steak tacos are perfection. Their dessert menu is the bets I've ever seen (HELLO cheesecake STUFFED churro) Waitresses are always so nice and the meals are always consistently delicious. I could eat here everyday!
The food is absolutely superb, the wait staff is very helpful and attentive and quick. The bar makes some killer margaritas and every other drink I've gotten from the bar was excellent too. It's not the cheapest place around to eat but the food is definitely worth it as a treat every now and then.
Went with extended family for a birthday dinner. The outdoor seating was very nice and lit up for the evening hours. Everything from the food , service , cleanliness etc was all A+. I highly recommended giving this place a try !
This place was here when I came to Bard back in the 90s and now I’m lucky enough to have home here, Santa Fe is kind of my kitchen. It’s like Cheers for Tivoli but with the most amazing food and swap Sam for Matt. If you get to the Hudson Valley drop by. This place is amazing
We sat at the outside dining area. Everything was just wonderful! We made a reservation for our party, which was a good call. The place is pleasantly bustling and efficiently managed. We had an awesome time!
Food was excellent, but they were very busy so service was slow. We sat outside and it was so relaxing. We will be back.
Great service awesome food love the vibes
Could not have had a better experience here. Called ahead to put our names on the list and got seated within the time frame we were given. Server and other staff members were super friendly, and all food was delicious. The fish was good quality, I ordered scallop tacos, which were loaded with perfectly cooked sea scallops and a lot of nicely balanced dressings. I love vegetables, and was happy to see they actually put thought into the side salad (Nice greens and dressing) and the tomato’s were good quality. Was not expensive either, lots of options for people who don’t eat meat. Also had my leftovers for breakfast and it was still just as good and not soggy.
Not your "traditional" Mexican restaurant. Consistent good food and service. Front room has the bar and kitchen so it can get noisy. Back room is quieter for conversations. Small outside porch right on the sidewalk if you like that or a tent in the back with more tables for bigger parties. I had a chimichanga and others had various "bowls" and one fish tacos. Everyone was happy with their meal. Good selection and drinks. Suggest reservations on the weekend.
Ate here twice during my week in Tivoli. Each time had excellent food, service, and atmosphere. We sat in the tent out back to accommodate our dog. Very lovely setting. One of the very best restaurants in Tivoli.
Excellent loved everything from service to food.
Really great spot, always consistent and very thoughtful wait staff especially considering we often have small kiddos with us. One of our favorites
The food is awesome but the lighting is not. Needed the flashlight on my phone to see the menu.
Had a great meal last evening at the Tivoli location of Santa Fe. Arrived early upon opening so we were able to have a window seat on a cool and rainy evening. Waitstaff was freindly, attentive and efficient . Generous serving of chips and salsa. Dinner choices were the Surfer Burrito...Baja shrimp sautéed with Spanish onions, spinach, fresh tomatoes & white cheddar cheese and the Fish Tacos with fresh guacamole, lime, cilantro & white cheddar cheese. BOTH were outstanding with a perfectly tasty combination of ingredients. Best white rice we ever tasted ! Nice light salad dressing. Fantastic meal to celebrate the 49th anniversary of our first date on July 31, 1976.
The Santa Fe is always consistent with great food, fast service, and a great high energy vibe. The front porch is open and good weather and provides a lovely eating experience with people watching included. If you want a great place with great food without frills or overpricing definitely go to Santa Fe.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but I need to because we had such a great experience here. The food was delicious and seemed really fresh, and the waitstaff was super kind and accommodating for our party that included toddlers. The chicken enchiladas and Oaxaca tacos were fantastic. Strong margaritas, delicious food with generous portions, and good service? What’s not to love. Will definitely be back.
My wife, Laurie & I went out this Friday evening for a date night together. We went to one of our favorite restaurants, Santa Fe in Tivoli, N.Y. We were immediately greeted by our Hostess Emily, who greeted us with a smile & showed us to our table. Our Waitress, Lindsey started us off with a couple of Margaritas that our Bartender Matt made that were delicious !! We started out with homemade chips with salsa that sets the pace for our delicious dinner. I also had the black bean soup which was off the charts flavor !!. Laurie ordered The Vegan salad & I ordered the special Arugula salad with duck. All of the flavors in the duck salad which included toasted walnuts with infused flavors of salt & peppers also watermelon radishes & pears set the pace for this amazing dish !! All of the flavors worked together like magic. For dessert I had a double espresso & pumpkin ice cream, the perfect ending for this wonderful dinner at this Wonderful restaurant with so many Great people who work there that make you feel as if you were in your own home. Come join us at Santa Fe & You will Love the experience
Amazing food. The margaritas are incredible and the atmosphere is entertaining, relaxing and enjoyable. My boyfriend and I came here after visiting Tousey Winery. This restaurant did not disappoint. We had a great time! I ordered a chimichanga and my boyfriend had the cauliflower tacos. Overall great and we will definitely be back.
We had a good time, food was 👌, service was an enjoyable interaction. If I'm in the area again I will stop by 👍
Food is great, so are the cocktails, but try to grab a drink at the bar for happy hour pricing.
Parking lot was full but we waited for outdoor seating so our puppy could sit with us.
Consistently good food, but somewhat limited tap selection. Haven't had the best experience with service outside on the porch but has always been fine inside. Tasty vegetarian options too.
I've gone here for years. The most recent time was quite good. The drinks are tasty and the entre was delicious. It's a beautiful place - I recommend sitting out on the porch.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The salsa and hot sauces are good and flavorful, as well as the dishes. They also have very good wings and drinks.
Love the food and drinks. I don't understand the attire of the waitresses. VerY short dresses and or skirts, low shirts. Unprofessional in my opinion. And slow to refill your drinks!
Good service and excellent food. Strongly suggest a reservation especially on weekends. Food came out quickly and was amazing.
Food is delicious but wish chips and salsa came with the meal instead of having to pay extra.
It was really good tasty mexican food but the table and glasses were FULL OF DUST! I had to use my napkin to clean the table and when I told the waitress she did nothing as if it was ok or maybe she's blind or has a dirty house but i was not pleased. The food was great but the service was not up to par. Good help is hard to find. Don't act your age at work and listen to the customer.
Good drinks! Frozen margaritas take a little while. Food is great and a nice amount of vegetarian options. Warm atmosphere with a strange yet endearing hippogriff. Complimentary chips are a little bland, but when aren't they? I have dined here many times and will do so again.
Yummy place for standard Mexican fare with a extra flare. The tacos are really special and yummy. We go there regularly. Love this place!
The food was good, the patio is a nice place to eat, but the service was slow.
Santa Fe is one of the 4 Mexican Restaurants in our area and it doesn't disappoint. A casual atmosphere and great service thanks to Morgan. The food was delicious. Tivoli is aa great destination and Santa Fe a great place to eat.
We always enjoy coming here each summer while we're working for the Bard Music Festival. Pro tip: you can ask to combine margarita flavors for shared pitchers - on our 2025 visit we combined ginger with strawberry, and it was delicious!
Fiirst time back in a few years. I've been going to Santa Fe for over 15 years. It doesn't change much which is a good thing. Shrimp Tacos are my goto meal there. It's disapointing thrat they are not open on Sundays anymore. Hopefully this will change. Review from 2003; Mexican food with a culinary twist. Good margaritas. Menu has something for everyone.
Sad night for food at SF, and we were really craving it last night. Our dinner did not compare to many many previous meals at SF over the years. Fried plantains soppy tasteless and of a meager portion (and $10). Sweet potato tacos were almost all sweet potato dropped out of its skin, a tiny sprinkle of cheese and a teaspoonish of caramelized onions. Chimichanga pollo looked like a hashed potato patty. Salads used to be pretty good with several ingredients but last night was 100% lettuce. Dressing and guacamole side tasty though. Kind of bummed, more that the food has been generally been falling in quality than I am disgruntled at an off night.
The food is good but the menu is tiny, I was disappointed by the lack of choices. This is a fusion restaurant and not authentic Mexican by any means. I heard they have the best margaritas in town but I don't drink. It wasn't awful, just mildly disappointing. It definitely wouldn't be my first choice.
Have been dining here for years. Continues to be a very popular spot likely for fun atmosphere and generous portions at reasonable price. Though, some plates are overpriced. Like The Corner across the street, great front porch for warm weather dining. Food is generally good. What was once an exciting Mexican dining experience has been pared down over time and seems standardized. Accompanying mole sauce and plantains gone long ago. Menu revision is slow. Could use more interesting, balanced vegetarian fare. Prefer nearby Modern Taco for repeat visits and always know there'll be something new to look forward to!
This guac was just mashed avocado: no lime, onions, salt - key ingredients in guacamole. It’s missing flavors of true Mexican food.
I’m naming this review “The Tyrant in the Kitchen.” We have eaten at Sante Fe Tivoli many times over the past 5 years, and enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. So I was blown away at the very opposite experience last night. We arrived at 7 for our reservation, and ordered at approximately. 7:10. Despite that we were obviously still enjoying our guacamole and chips, the server brought our entrees to the table at approximately 7:22, looking sheepish. I refused to accept them, saying we were still eating. At approximately 7:27, another server brought them back, and this time I surrendered, directly her to tell the chef that people who have a 7:00 reservation and order an appetizer shouldn’t be served their entrees before 7:30. We were out by 8ish, simply surrendering to the situation. I also noticed that many of the servers - always young women, nearly all with dark hair - look increasingly uncomfortable pouring out of their required attire norms. Enough said. So what’s going on here? Something is very wrong. And frankly the food wasn’t up to par. Many the chef is rushing himself as well as the waitstaff and customers. Enough said. Whoever owns the Sante Fe chainlet, get it together here. This wasn’t a reasonable dining experience. And I did notice more empty tables than is usually the case.
Food is incredibly overpriced for what they serve. Service wasn’t great for us when we were there.
👎🏽 ** This is not a Mexican restaurant ** 👎🏽- such a disappointment and frustration. Staff was nice and the place looks good; however, food here is not Mexican food. An "enchilada" with no tortilla, its NOT and enchilada, I'm sorry. It's disrespectful to think that because you're serving rice and beans with guac, you have a Mexican restaurant. Funny "Mexican restaurant " with no Mexican/ Latino staff!! 🤯🤯. Extremely disappointing experience.
Absolutely atrocious. Paid almost $25 for 2 unseasoned tacos with a side of plain white rice and maybe a tablespoon of beans. An insane price for an insane meal. Crazy to think someone thought this was acceptable to be served and paid for. Sour cream was best part of the meal.
Horrible service but great food. It's too bad the two aren't up to par. Waited 40 minutes for food and 25 minutes to get the check. No water refills and no table checkups. May be best to avoid this place if you want to keep your meal under 2 hours.
I was disappointed with my meal, as was my husband. It does not represent traditional Mexican cuisine. Very bland. The acoustics are poor making conversation difficult at best. We were a large group and none of us were impressed. It was the worst margarita we have ever had. We will not return nor recommend it to anyone as there are too many enjoyable establishments that we have thoroughly enjoyed. Soory, just being honest.
Food was ok, the service was terrible. They seemed very insistent on us ordering drinks… we didn’t want any. Food took forever to arrive, and they didn’t bring appetizers. They brought the wrong tacos and insisted that this was on the order. Like I don’t know what I ordered or something. We told them we wouldn’t want appetizers anymore, they probably should have asked if we were still interested viewing how they had failed to deliver them as appetizers. Instead they brought them nonetheless. And we had to move our plates and glass and everything to make room for them. They eventually offered us the wrong tacos and brought the correct one in an additional small plate (yay more plates because we were not already contrived). There are many reason for a person to not want to touch or be served pork (not a problem here, but for next time be careful). When we got the check we waited for a crazy long time for staff to come take the card. So long that eventually I gave up and brought it to them asking to run it “when they have some time”
This place was recommended by our AirBnB host. It was quite possibly the worst expression of Mexican food I have had in memory. The margaritas were not good. The guacamole was not good. The enchiladas were terrible. The tacos were terrible. The service was terrible. If you are looking for authentic mexican food and good quality margaritas DO NOT GO to Santa Fe. I have always been told not to expect good mexican food in NYC and apparently this applies to the surrounding areas as well.
We were there at the bar last night for taco night, Oct. 21, and we have been going there for years. The service was so rude and so bad. What happened to the kind people who used to work there?
