While we were driving through Malibu, we stumbled upon this place and decided to make a reservation—without even realizing it was their first day open after the California wildfires. Everything was incredible. The atmosphere was amazing, the people were so kind, and the food was absolutely delicious. The waitstaff were not only friendly but also really knowledgeable about the dishes they recommended. This place has definitely become my favorite spot in Malibu.

Everything here was absolutely phenomenal, including the service. I started with the Alto Vento Pinot grigio (10/10 and a good price) and the raw oysters, shrimp cocktail, and fried calamari. We also got filets, a rack of lamb, Chilean sea bass, mac and cheese, scalloped potatoes, and asparagus. For dessert we had creme brulee (soooo good), butter cake, and cheesecake. Everyone loved everything! The only thing we probably wouldn't get again was the scalloped potatoes, but they were still good. They just had a different taste to them- maybe nutmeg? Our waiter Arian was the best! He gave us great recommendations and was able to answer all of our questions.

After another restaurant canceled my reservation because they double booked the table, I was fortunate enough to find one last minute table at Mastro's Ocean Club but because it was in Malibu & we were in Beverly Hills on a Friday night, traffic was nuts heading that was, so we were cutting it really close. I was able to call and they were SO accommodating & told us we would be fine even if we missed the grace period by a few mins. I really needed a more upscale place w/great food to celebrate my friend's 35 Birthday & MOC did not disappoint on any level. The service was excellent, food was amazing, bathroom was clean, tables were spaced apart 6ft, & even though it was cold, the heaters worked perfectly & we were really comfortable. They also let me bring my outside dessert (woohoo!!) S/O to Dylan for being an attentive & patient server as well. In case anyone reading this review is wondering, this is a steakhouse & all food is served steakhouse style (ie: main entree & shareable sides) & also its pricey but worth it. Lastly, my favorite part was that we got to build our own chilled seafood tower by the piece with no minimum. This allowed us to put more things on our tower to try w/o having a massive quantity leftover AND saved us a few dollars. Although my plans were abruptly thrown off we definitely had an amazing night & possibly a better time than we would have had at the other spot. Thank you MOC!!

We had dinner and drinks here. It was a fantastic evening. The drinks were delicious and the food was fabulous. Also being on the beach and water in Malibu was amazing. Definitely stop by.

I recently got engaged at Mastro’s ocean club in Malibu and had the most amazing night of my life! The view during sunset was heavenly, and the table was perfect indoors where we enjoyed the views without being cold. The food was VERY good and I was very impressed how juicy and flavorful the steak was, we had martinis, wine and champagne all 5 star service from the staff. The event director Talia helped my fiancé behind the scenes and the day-of manager Robert really drove the experience home. He helped hide my family by bringing in extra bushes to cover them and even had to help clear the proposal spot from tourists to ensure the moment was perfect. We will definitely come back to Mastro’s for every special occasion in this new chapter of our life.

Had a wonderful dinner outside on the tented waterfront. Shared a lovely seafood assortment (monster crab claws and huge shrimp!) and celebrated a birthday. They presented us with lovely surprise decoration dessert with a lovely "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate! Food was excellent. Pricey $$$$ but for a special evening, enjoy! Life is short!

Wonderful experience; went for my birthday and it was amazing and window seating. Started with drinks and oysters, enjoyed our time while we waited for our food. Had the lobster mashed potatoes, sauted asparagus, steak with bone marrow butter and lobster tail with a cup of wine. Dessert was a HUGE slice of cheese cake and the signature butter cake with fresh fruit accompanied with a nice dessert port. We where there for 3 hrs and not once did we feel rushed during our dinner. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left not one negative thing can be said!

Great service, beautiful ambiance, savory food, and a breathtaking view! While we have Mastro’s locations at home, this was my first time at one. The experience was so pleasant and the food is worth the price. My leftovers were even better the next day. I ordered the branzino and creamed spinach. The fish came with a lemon butter sauce that was rich with flavor. Everyone was so helpful from the moment we walked in, until we left. KC/Kacie was our server; he was very efficient!

3/7 anniversaries have been held at this place even the one before the fire and after the fire. For sure I could not recommend any restaurant more than this one. They could not have made our anniversary any more special and I appreciate these people.

Mastros as a whole is on a scale of it's own. To rate it comparatively is almost unfair to any other steakhouse. I haven't had anything mediocre, or anything below greatness. While I usually go to their other location, I was treated to this location just recently and decided to make a review. My only critique is that their heat measurement is a hair different at this location. It caused our table to get a slightly more rare cut than we were all used to. They did a great job in describing their temperatures which we all heard, but promptly ignored. Regardless, that did nothing to stop us from leaving only skeletal remains on our plates. I don't believe any cut of meat tops their bone in filet. Not even the Waygu Beef. Their all amazing, but the Bone-In Filet is perfection. It always pairs astonishingly well with their Garlic Lobster Mashed Potatoes with a side of any of their veggies. This particular location's drinks are better than most high end bars. Can't wait to visit again.

On August 16, 2025 a group of us went here to celebrate our friend's birthday. We went for the brunch! What a wonderful experience!!! Our server Brian couldn't have been nicer!! Robert was very attentive making sure we were happy. ( Who wouldn't have been.) The food was delicious but our favorite was the Ahi Tartare. We shared 2 Maine lobster benedicts and when they arrived they were separated and plated individually. We plan on returning. Really happy to see you back open!

What can I tell you, first time eating here and the experience was Great! Polite very attentive server named Pablo There was a live singer in the background dim lighting but each table had a small lamp which helped the ambiance was perfect. The food was a 10/10 I ordered the bone in Filet and my GF had the Chilean sea bass with scallops sides were mushrooms, asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The meat was flavorful and tender I highly recommend it,the mushrooms were delicious the asparagus was good and mashed potatoes were ok. My GF Sea bass with scallops melted in your mouth. Overall experience was amazing. We will definitely be back.

On the beach. Very memorable, down to the details. They will make you or your loved one's day feel special. The menus and a desert was personalized for a graduation, call ahead for details. Good selection of beef or seafood. I got the ribeye...Bruno style! (topped with 2 medium scallops with a choice of sauces). Most of the sides as well as the appetizers are family size or sharable. Service was GOOD but not excellent as I had expected, from similar places, but its a wash when compared to the atmosphere and the excellent food. The coffee tasted like strong 7-eleven java and needs to be updated, but that seems to be the trend even at the finest of restaraunts (coffee is an after thought).

Wow. Just wow. Top notch service. Top notch food. And we'll... Top notch price. I had a party of five and we were served quick, had a great ocean view and delicious food. My favorite highlights from my meal were the gnocchi and seafood platter. My steak was perfectly cooked. If you go to Mastros and you don't order the butter cake for dessert, you have completely missed out on the experience. This cake is so darn good. Make sure you bring your checkbook woth you. This place doesn't skimp on the price.

Ask for Paris for your server, she's fantastic and has a great personality. The food is very good. The ambiance and the view is amazing. You do have to have some patience when you arrive. There's almost always a wait and the reception is not the best. Uber Eats and other services pick up orders from the same place you check-in. So it's very busy at the entrance. It's cold at night by the beach and there's only two chairs in the lobby. So you either sit inside at the bar or you might need to bring a jacket to wait outside. Maybe when it gets colder they move the heat lamps. The restaurant is very loud, can't speak for the noise volume on the patio. You can still hear each other, but it's loud. The valet was fantastic, really quick to get the car and a great personality. All in all I will be back and I always do enjoy my meal at Mastro's Ocean Club.

Excellent. Food was fantastic, the wagu and sword fish were perfectly done. Caesar salad spin with wasabi was fantastic, wine pairing is world class and the desserts are to dye for. We'll be back soon for more.

Parking is slow, valet. View of the beach/sunset is incredible!!! It’s worth it to sit AT the window, which these semicircle tables fit 4 comfortably, we squeezed 6 adults. The food is top-notch, the chef team was incredible Saturday night. Our service was SUPREME!!! He checked in often enough, waters were never empty, and cocktails service was great! They also made sure to clear finished plates, replace silverware and remove excess glasses throughout all 4 courses! Noise is loud, difficult to carry a conversation across the table without raised voices. Luckily, I didn’t have to pay the bill. Food: 1-Shrimp cocktail, 2-Spicy Mambo Salad, 3-Swordfish Au Povrie, Scalloped potatoes, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Creamed Corn 4-Hot Espresso Mousse, Black Coffee **HIGHLY Recommend all items above, plus Lobster Tail enteee!

Right along the beach. So was able to watch the sunset. This is an upscale restaurant and the prices do match, but you do get what you paid for. My rib eye was perfect and was one of the best I’ve ever had. The drinks were perfect and plenty. Lobster bisque was spot on. Had the cheesecake for dessert and the whipped cream was outstanding.

Phenomenal meal, service and views! What more could I say? (A lot actually). We were seated promptly at our reservation time and our waiter was superb. All of our drinks and meals came out perfectly and delicious at each turn. We had a birthday during our outing and made sure to let them know - they made the chocolate cake feel extra special! If the food and service weren't great enough, the amazing view is the cherry on top. We saw two groups of dolphins in the nearby distance and watched an amazing sunset change the ocean and sky beautiful colors. 11/10, will definitely be stopping back for our next special dinner outing.

We stopped in unexpected this Sat. We were blessed to have Ryan T as our server. He was amazing and offered us all the delectable details of the menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. Delicious food, visited for a birthday and the service was good, the views are just beautiful. The sushi we ordered was phenomenal, and so was everything else, the price is justified for the quality of food you are receiving, will be back.

What a beautiful restaurant , views were to die for . Service was good , weather was a bit chilly , with outdoor dining always take something extra , especially when the ocean breeze picks up . Steaks were made to perfection Lobster mashed potatoes on point , one order feeds 5 don’t ask for 2 Shrimps were both great Scallops were fresh and done perfect Now much we did not like , cheesecake feeds 2 maybe even 3 , chocolate cake is rich and the bitter cake was on point Thank you to Cory our server

I've dined here repeatedly over the years and they never fail to impress. While their steak is excellent (it's Mastro's), the seafood is INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend the scallops because they're EXCELLENT (if they're not on the menu that day, try asking - you might be surprised). 🤤 Perfect for a romantic evening, a special family gathering, or a classy end to a great beach day - they're comfortable with casual attire within reason. Don't miss out if you've been thinking about it, you can thank me later. 😉 Oh! And try the butter cake - an employee once told me "people come for the steak, stay for the cake" and he was VERY correct, it's DELICIOUS.

Had a great experience. We have been to Mastro’s a handful of times and they never disappoint. Most recently, we tried the Dine LA menu and it was great. We had a group of 7 so we got to share appetizers and sides. The food is always top notch, especially their steaks. I had a bone in filet and it was ridiculously good. The steak was about 2 in. thick! It was so good. Deserts are to die for. The chocolate cake was good but the butter cake is hands-down the best. The only critique I can give is that we had a reservation at 5:30 and got seated closer to 6:00. Mind you, it was a Saturday but that’s been the case every time we’ve gone. Other than that, all was amazing. Great place to celebrate a birthday.

Spent our 25th wedding anniversary there. Arrived early and the manager was able to seat us right away. He directed us to the perfect table. We got the best table with a gorgeous view, a corner table with high ceiling window views of the Pacific Ocean and its golden beach. The food was excellent! Ordered the seafood tower with East and West oysters, clams, lobster, and delicious shrimps that were the size of my hand. Each of us ordered our own personalized steak and each was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place for its impeccable views, outstanding and delicious food. And of course it’s excellent service and hospitality. Thank you again for a memorable dinner.

I cannot express my gratitude for how accommodating and willing the manager and host and staff were in solving a problem for me remotely. We went to Maestro's Ocean Club because my wife wanted to celebrate our anniversary near the ocean. She normally likes going to the one in Beverly Hills. We arrived half an hour before our reservation and was told we could sit at the bar until they had a table for us. It was pretty packed so we were both surprised that we barely had a chance to look over the drink menu when summertime came over to let us know they had a table for us. Specially because we arrived 30 minutes early. We got one of the booths right across the windows. Not right next to it but we had an ocean view so it was nice. The server was helping the table next to us so we waited a bit but it's ok because she was doing her job providing good service. She was friendly and she moved quickly. We were happy with her service. Her name I think she said was Passion. On to the food. The bread came out hot. They had a variety of options to choose from along with butter. They had pretzel bread which had a slight crunch on the outside but soft and hot inside with kosher salt on top. There was a type of cheese toast, a type of baguette sliced, and a regular roll type bread. It was really good and it helps if you are really hungry while you wait for your food. We had had the seared tuna and the West Coast oysters for appetizers. Both were really good. The tuna was fresh and the oysters were delicious! My wife ordered the 5oz filet medium and I ordered the porter house medium rare. Sides were lobster mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. I'm sure they cooked it the way we asked but I think because it was served so sizzling on the hot plate it cooked them a little more to where hers was medium well and mine was medium. They were both still very good and we paired it with a bottle of tempranillo from Spain. The lobster mashed potatoes was pretty good with about two pieces of smaller lobster claws in it. The creamed spinach was not my favorite. I think it may be because I just don't like it. I normally don't order it but thought I'd try it. The porter house was very big so I ended up taking the filet side home since I wasn't able to finish it. The server brought us out a cheese cake for our anniversary which was delicious! Not too rich, not too sweet, and it went really well with my Espresso after the meal. All in all it was a very enjoyable anniversary meal.

What a great experience. We made a reservation online and had a minimal wait for a table next to the ocean-view window! Absolutely gorgeous views. They treated us extra special since it was my boyfriend’s birthday. They don’t have a vegetarian entree on the menu, but they have the option to select three or the slides which was honestly perfect. Everything we ordered had large serving sizes, including the dessert ! Chose the restaurant for the view, but will return for the food and service. Can’t wait to come back.

Went here for day before Mother’s Day for a Nice leisurely paced lunch. Great food, nice server, excellent live music with stellar singer and wonderful views. We sat in the glass addition part. Lunch was Expensive but I didn’t see the bill. Steak in the $50+ range and sides $25+ Food was very good. Mushrooms and mashed potatoes were delicious and so was my steak. Plates are very hot. Everything is a La carte but shareable. They had just added a new side - truffle fries for $27. Definitely on the pricey side but we were there for 2.5 hrs and never rushed. My daughter insisted on Dessert and it was yummy too. Everyone was taking home leftovers - including us - lots of food. You do have to pay for valet parking and there are nice views from parking lot. There’s a bench to sit on with the beach view behind. Lovely experience. 😊

We had an amazing time celebrating my wife birthday here last night with her family. I made reservations 2 months ahead of time on OpenTable and asked for a table with a view for a party of 6. The day of the reservations, my wife dad wanted to add 1 extra person so I called ahead to see if that was possible and they said it would be but we would lose our table with the view since they only have high top available for 7 people so I said that was fine. We arrived early and used their valet service because I didn't want to look for street parking. A lot of people checking in or got seated wanted a table next to the window but they let them know that those tables were already reserved since people booked it like 3 months ahead. Our server was Pablo and he was amazing, he speaks many languages like Spanish, French and etc. My wife got the Chilean Sea Bass for her meal, I got the 12oz Filet Mignon, our other guest had other steaks and salad. For our sides, we went with the fries, mushroom, asparagus and Mac & chesse. The fries were too salty so they took it back to remake it for us. I really loved my Filet Mignon at medium rare because it was juicy, tender and seasoned perfectly. My wife loved her Sea Bass especially the portion that they give and she loved the mushroom. The Mac & chesse was delicious as well and the table loved the asparagus. All of the staff here were amazing and will serve you your side dishes. If you have a party of 5 or more I believe tip is included in the bill. We finish off with my wife getting her chessecake and we sang happy birthday to her. You cannot go wrong coming here to celebrate a special occasion and the food is amazing. My score: Food: 5 star, you cannot go wrong with the steak here or the seafood. The sides are also delicious as well and if something not right just let your waiter know. Parking: 4 star, it's basically street parking or valet here so you don't have that much option. The price to valet your car is pretty high but the valet people take extra precaution when they are parking your car. I have a dashcam so I was able to see how they drove my car. Service: 5 star, the staff here are all professional and amazing. Just be respectful and understand that sometime they can't accommodate a window seat or a seat with a nice view because they are already booked up.

Dining at Mastro’s Malibu was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with top-tier service — the servers were not only attentive and professional, but also incredibly warm and welcoming. The view? Absolutely breathtaking. Sitting oceanside while the sun set created the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable meal. And the food... wow. Every dish was prepared to perfection — you can truly taste the quality and care put in by the chef. From start to finish, each bite was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Whether you're celebrating something special or just looking to treat yourself, Mastro’s Malibu is an experience worth every moment. Can’t wait to come back!

I love to eat. I have eaten at great restaurants all over the country. Mastro’s Ocean Club is my favorite restaurant, bar none. The ocean views are spectacular. The food is outrageously delicious. The service is extraordinary. When I have an opportunity to eat there, I take it. My last visit was with my wife and a good friend from Canada. We went for it on the food, ordering enough for at least one more person. We had the seafood tower appetizer, lobster bisque soup, bone-in ribeye, halibut, scallops, asparagus, creamed corn, blueberry butter cake a la mode and two extra scoops of ice cream. Every dish was mouthwatering. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. The scallops were firm and excellently seasoned. The seafood tower was a piece of artwork, spewing smoke as it was served. The shrimp were huge. The crab was completely pealed with large chunks ready to dip In delicious sauces and eat. A full lobster was split with big claws ready to crack open. The steak was served sizzling on a very hot plate. Each bite tasted better than the last. Our waiter was Rob. He had a great sense of humor, he knew the menu backwards and forwards, and his recommendations were spot-on. I was completely satisfied with every aspect of a perfect dining experience. $450 for three people without any alcohol is an expensive night, but it was worth every penny and more. I praised Rob’s service to the manager who said Rob would be rewarded as a result of my going out of my way to praise him to his manager. The perfect end to a perfect night.

Delicious oceanside restaurant with an upscale menu. The majority of seating benefits from a sea-level view of the Pacific Ocean. Had dinner an hour before sunset and enjoyed gorgeous light and colors with our meal. I splurged on an 8oz Japanese wagyu steak which was reasonably priced. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and melted in my mouth. We enjoyed the jumbo lump crab cakes which were filling and flavored well. Dessert offered a blueberry seasonal version of their famous butter cake. It was a neat and tangy departure from the original. This place is fantastic for date nights or anything worthy of a celebration. Great place as well to bring out of town guests!

Such a wonderful experience on a rainy day in LA. Rob, our server, and the server assistants were incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and took every step to make sure our meal was exceptional. Every step of the meal from the drinks, appetizers, salads, and entrees tasted incredible and fresh. Rob offered many suggestions that were helpful for what we had ordered and at the end of the meal brought out a birthday cheesecake for my girlfriend. We also ordered the famous butter cake which definitely sealed the deal with the entire meal. A great experience at Mastro's Ocean Club. I can't wait to come again during the day so I can see more of the view.

It may be a smaller spot, but it packs a punch! We had the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and it was outstanding. The table bread was even great. For my meal I had the 12oz filet paired with truffle butter mushrooms and lobster Mac & cheese…amazing! One of the best meals I have had. Parking can be a bit challenging there but they do have a valet to assist.

I came here to treat my partner to a lovely birthday dinner and ended up BEYOND happy with the occasion, food, and treatment received!! I made a reservation and mentioned that it was my boyfriend's 27th birthday, so they added a personalized note to the menu to commemorate it and ensured we received excellent treatment and a had a wonderful experience throughout the entire evening! Starting off with a pair of cocktails, I thought they were all very creative, strong, and full of various flavors! The Purple Mist was my personal favorite - it has a purple color (as you may suspect), flavors that both come both a bit strong and others that are more subtle, as you might suspect, and includes an edible flower! Alongside these we also got a basket of bread and some clam chowder soup. The bread came in several varieties and were all great quality, and the soup was absolutely delicious. I felt it was the perfect way to start the evening, warm the stomach, and dip some of our bread into! For the main course, we split one of the 16oz New York Strips for $70, which for at least, was MORE than enough for the both of us. The steak came cooked perfectly medium as requested and (I'm admittedly not a huge steak connoisseur) tasted delicious! My personal favorite dishes are what most people would probably consider the sides, so I was in love with the Lobster Mashed Potatoes ($40), White Cheddar Mac-N-Cheese ($15), and Creamed Corn ($15) that we ordered to accompany the steak!! Everything was so creamy, cheesy, and absolutely delectably wonderful! Throughout the evening, the service from all the staff was very friendly and helpful, as this was our first time visiting a Mastro's. For dessert, we had a couple more cocktails and they provided us with a little 'Happy Birthday' cheesecake! It came with loads of whip cream on the side to dip your bites in if you so desired and was the perfectly sized dessert for us, as we're not the biggest dessert people! The views and vibes are also immaculate - we were directly by the window but were still able to enjoy the gorgeous view outside as the sun began to go down. There's also a few lovely areas just outside the restaurant for some photos - if you so desire. To close, Mastro's Ocean Club in Malibu is the PERFECT location for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions! We were wonderfully treated throughout the evening, enjoyed everything we ordered, and would certainly be happy to return in the future! I felt this was an excellent value for the quality and ambiance of the experience!

I had such an amazing experience, the food was delicious! Me and my boyfriend came here to celebrate our anniversary and we were not disappointed! Our server Juan was so attentive and made sure we were taken care of, his customer service was so excellent! I recommend the lobster mac & cheese!! We had the filet steak medium rare and it was delectable!! I will definitely come again!

We were there for my 60th birthday. The ocean view is amazing. The restaurant atmosphere is also very nice and warm. The food was great. But the best part is the service. The general manager, Mr. Robert Lacey, took the time to come out and congratulate me for my birthday and to personally connect with us and also with other tables. That was a great touch. We will be back there again and again very soon.

My husband and I went to the Newport location and needed to try the Malibu Mastros. Honestly, the Malibu spot is way better just because it sits right on the beach. You can't beat the views! Now the steak...wow! So tender and juicy. We was loving it! Brussel sprouts were fire and the drinks were on point. Service was amazing. I would definitely come back. Sunset time is the best.

From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels opulent and celebratory, dim lighting, elegant décor and a lively energy that makes the evening feel like an occasion rather than just a meal. The food is unapologetically decadent. The steaks are the true stars: perfectly cooked, richly marbled, and finished with that signature buttery flavor that Mastro’s is known for. Every bite feels luxurious. The seafood towers are equally impressive, fresh, generous, and beautifully presented, setting the tone for a lavish dining experience. Sides like the creamed spinach, lobster mashed potatoes, and butter-soaked vegetables are indulgent enough to feel like main attractions. Mastro’s isn’t about subtlety; it’s about excess done well. It’s loud, glamorous, expensive, and worth it for special occasions, celebrations, or nights when you want to fully immerse yourself in luxury. If you’re looking for refined decadence, impeccable service, and a steakhouse experience that feels grand.

We went last night for my mom’s 60th birthday, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The service was incredible, our server, Sydney, was so kind and attentive. Dining at Mastro’s in Malibu is always great, but having Pablo as our waiter always makes the experience 10x better. He’s one of those waiters who instantly makes you feel welcome. He is attentive and genuinely excited to make sure you’re having a good time. He checked in at all the right moments, offered spot-on recommendations, and somehow made the whole experience feel relaxed and special at the same time. You can tell he truly cares about his guests. If you go to Mastro’s in Malibu, do yourself a favor and ask to be seated in Pablo's section. He is the best!

Let me start by saying the manager - Robert Lacey was so amazing! The service was outstanding and we’ve been coming here for years ! Thank you so much !

Went here for our anniversary and it was so nice. The food was amazing! The sides are big portions meant to share but you can ask for half the size. We sat at the bar first for a quick drink and the bartender was so nice. We did wear nice jeans and shirts but saw others dressed up more and down. Loved eating looking out at the ocean.

Beautiful oceanfront restaurant in Malibu with great service and delicious food. I recommend the fillet steak and don't forget to order the peppercorn sauce with it. Don't miss the sauteed wild mushroom truffle butter. Unfortunately, the fries were very average, like those at fast food restaurants. Reservations are a must, especially during the weekends.

Traveled here all the way from Texas for my 30th Birthday. They were SO SWEET & accommodating to my wants/needs. We booked our reservation weeks in advance asking for a window table but unfortunately during our reservation time, that was not available. We were seated in a room with really loud people, my photos were not what I imagined to be for my birthday & it just was not the vibe LOL they were more than accommodating to assist us in moving tables. & gave us the window table! 🥹😭 Every employee who assisted us at our table acknowledged my birthday which was so sweet! The food was AMAZING!!!!! & birthday cheesecake was the best cheesecake ever!🤤 Dream Berry lemon drop was SO GOOD & got about 3 drinks from 1 order 👌🏽 THANK YOU MASTRO’S FOR MAKING MY 30TH BIRTHDAY SO MEMORABLE!!!🤍🤍🤍 ya’ll don’t pass this restaurant up! I was originally torn between this restaurant and another but I’m so glad I chose Mastro’s!

This is a very notable place. It is on the water, it is expensive and the food is good. So we went there for my birthday and our waiter (Pablo) was super nice, attentive and accommodating. We were disappointed because the hostess would not seat us at a window (although they are 4+ seat tables), so we thought ok, they hold those for 4 or more. But they sat two couples at the window seats that came in after us, so a little upsetting since their money is as good as ours?? We ordered the calamari appetizer, the bread, I got the clam chowder, wife got the Cesar salad, I got a 22 Oz bone in ribeye, my wife the double cut pork chops, white cheddar Mac, and sauted asparagus. Calamari was super good. Tender, lightly breaded and flavorful. Bread is extra but very good veriety. Clam chowder was good, not great (a little watery), but tasted fine. Fair amount of clams and potatoes. Cesar salad was just a salad. Not the best, not the worst. 22oz ribeye was flavorful, overcooked, but still tender. I ordered medium well, got well done (but I didn't mind). I noticed some people were sending their steaks and salmon back because they were overcooked. The steak also seemed small for a 22oz'r Wife's pork chop was also overcooked, but still juicey and tender. Seems medium well in not in the cooks' vocabulary. The white cheddar Mac was just ok, lots of cheese on top (good thing) not lots of flavor or cheese in the middle (not such a good thing), it lacked the bite or tangieness a good old sharp cheddar Mac has. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and had a decent flavor. As it was my bday, the waiter got us a free happy bday cheesecake. It was light and flavorful, he also gave us (which seems common place with desert order a large dish or whipped cream (also light and flavorful). Overall, it is expensive and if you are very particular about how you like your meat cooked, you might have to send your food back. But thanks to Pablo, we had a good experience and the food was not bad overall.

We went for my husband's birthday. Tracey our waiter was perfect! 👌 food was delicious..we had filets and lobster mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms..yumm.. Tracey brought us a birthday slice of cheesecake for his celebration dinner . How great ! Everything was perfect...except wish we had gotten a window seat we had requested a day's in advance... the hostess had mentioned that they will try but people ask for window seats months in advance...🤔 Wow who knew... The restaurant has window's all around..so you can see the beautiful ocean..but it is a more beautiful dining experience sitting next to the window. So next time if we go again..I'll request that super early ...

Been coming here since 2017 as it’s always a staple for us to celebrate special events here. I prefer this Mastro’s over the other ones solely because the location here is amazing. Waterfront views while being right on the beach. Mastro’s has had consistently good food here over the years. The only reason this particular review is a 4 instead of a 5 star is that I believe their recent batch of ribeye steaks was not as good as the previous ones. The 22 oz bone-in ribeye steak was cooked properly as I wanted it(medium-rare), but I found it to be a bit dry and tough. Usually, it’s juicy and marbled throughout. Maybe they just got a bad batch of the steaks for this outing. Besides that, everything else was great as always. Excellent service, sides and desserts were on point. Don’t forget to order the warm butter cake as it’s their signature dessert here. As always, thanks for a great time Mastro’s.

The food is very good but also expensive! The ambience is not as fancy as for example in Nobu, but it’s very cozy! And the view is of course amazing! That all comes at a premium price :)

Love this place ! The waiter we had for the evening was Chasen. He made sure we were set for our dinner and informed us with detail on questions we had for items in the menu. He was friendly, accommodating, and had a great impact on our first experience at this location. The only flaw was that we requested to be seated next to the window to enjoy the beautiful view which he did ask the manager and she denied our request. The sad part was that as we left a couple was then seated in the table we wanted which was vacant the whole time we dined. Would’ve been a better experience. Each and every item we ordered from the steaks to the caviar to the crab claws to the tuna jalapeño was exquisite. I definitely recommend you order one of the specialty butters they offer it is worth it.

I really enjoyed Sunday lunch here. It's only indoor seating but it wasn't super crowded. The food was really good. I ordered the sea scallop entree & she got the Chilean sea bass. And you have to get the butter cake for dessert, trust me! It's expensive dining for sure but worth the splurge. Our server was excellent (forgot her name). The view is amazing.

The location is as breathtaking as it can get, being an ocean view restaurant. The food was good, not crazy but alright. The service is good. The drink was not that great. Make sure to have reservation in advance. Don't forget to try their pretzel bread, it ships daily fresh from Germany.

The feel of this place is great and the views can’t be beat. We came on a Sunday at noon. They have a few brunch items but we didn’t know until after we ordered “dinner” stuff. It was still good. The standout this time was the bacon appetizer. We also had the mastros salad (we shared it.. note, too big for one person. Better for 2-3. Lobster tails.. cheesecake for dessert because it was for my bday. Light and fluffy cheesecake.

It’s a very nice restaurant and seated right on the sand so the view of the ocean and sunset during your diner. The food was good and the drinks where strong. The plates come out hot and sizzling meat sprays your shirt with butter / oil so push the plate away until the sizzle calms down. Service is not the best, I had to wave down the server couple of times to order drinks and then diner. The parking is $15, if you can’t find side of the road parking. For the cost a meal and experience it falls under “did it, done it” status. Due to lack of staff attention we will not be returning. Flemings offers just as good cuts of meats and better attention to customers.

The outdoor seating is very nice and creates an entirely new dynamic and atmosphere. The attentiveness is suboptimal outside though, and we found ourselves waiting significantly for service. The food was good for sure, and the ambiance was nice. Just be prepared to wait.

If you love steaks and seafood then this is the place for you! Very impressive selection of different steak cuts as well as a variety of fresh seafood options. I’m only giving 4 stars however because I was not impressed with the service. We got to the front and gave the name of the reservation. We were then told to stay by while ‘they prepare the table’. We then proceeded to stand there for 10 minutes waiting only to find out the rest of our party was already seated. The service also at the table was a bit chaotic. It was hard to get the attention of any servers for ordering. I would expect at a place of this caliber you would have enough staff hired to handle the amount of tables that have to be served. Other than that, I was very impressed with the food and beautiful ocean views are second to none.

Beautiful! Amazing beach views with indoor comforts and tinted windows. We attended for a sunset 80th bday dinner. The tables closest to the left window area almost feels like you're dining on a pier over the waters during high tide. The right tables were great too and had the rest of the beach. We visited during 620pmish to 8pm sunset in June, and the sun wasn't too harsh against the windows. Regarding too much UV, the windows also have shades that can be rolled down for harsher sunny moments. Food: We recommend seafood and appetizers!! (Steak and Pork Chops were unfortunate misses for us that night but think it might be just that night, since another friend had a different experience). $19 Valet (takes credit card, cash, etc). Wagyu Beef Roll and Shrimp Cocktails are a must!! This location is open again!!! Secrets out via @losangelesfoodiegirl. We got so lucky to book an 80th bday celebration here within only 1 wk RSVP!!! Rsvp via phone or OpenTable. OpenTable for some reason shows a lot more availability than via the phone. I got a text the day before our running date, then a call in the morning to confirm. They definitely will make sure you'll make your RSVP. - Most of the view tables can fit up to 5 patrons. We were a table of 5 and fit semi-comfortably. - Behind these tables are booth seating for 2 which looks very comfortable. - Upper deck level with larger groups also offers amazing views Overall, the restaurant is tightly spaced, and the tables are close together but with enough space to still pull your seats out and squeeze through. There will be alot of movement traffic between staff coming through the walkways. *Tip: Add the celebration occasion (bday) and honored person's name (my mom), and they'll customize the menu with her name and HB on it. *Tip: Make a note or call to request where you'd like your seating. Window seating is to guarantee. We arrived 30min early and got lucky with not waiting too long. Waiting area: There are 2 seats. There is a bar too. There's outdoor benches near the valet area. I recommend strolling over toward the beach area of the parking lot. There is 1 small bench, and a great view of the restaurant with the beach. Pictures will be difficult to get during evenings around 6pm but still possible. Caution: Don't stand around there around 7pmish or high tide moments with the water splashing over the cliff to that area. You'll be greeted by staff, including different managers to make you or the celebrated person feels special. Food: - $5 bread service. - *$31+$ extra shrimp: Shrimp cocktail was amazing!! They were able to add another shrimp so that each one of us (party of 5) got a piece. I might try their lobster (cut into 2 pc) instead. - $22 Fried Calamari uses dairy in its batter. SO thought it was okay but the table ate it all, so I think everyone else definitely enjoyed it. - *$37 A5 Wagyu Beef Roll was delicious!!! Its a must for me! - $18 Iceberg Salads looked really good. Our table of ppl seem to have enjoyed it and ordered it extra chopped. - Sadly, the 2 different steaks to pork chop was overly cooked. The $49 pork chop is edible just with their apple sauce, which I was told that was incredible. One the steaks were taken back because it was super over cooked and it came back still unevenly cooked. Our $89 aged steak was overcooked but not as obvious. It was unevenly cooked. I'm glad we didn't complain about it because I just think their grill just may run hot at this location? Or it's uneven fires? Or off day? Update: A friend visited and really enjoyed their steak. Maybe our might was an off night? - $57 Seabass looked like the best entree at our table. It's made with butter, and not for me. I have interest in visiting again to try this dish. - $16 Brussel Sprouts - $16 Cream Corn - $16 Mash Potatoes

Rachaphon Wangtepanukhor

My overall experience here was great. The Ribeye and Lamb was well made, but my favourite was the off menu veal chop; it was very tender and juicy. I ordered my usual sides. The cream corn was very testy, but the lobster mash potatoes was a little too salty for my liking. I would also recommend ordering the crab cake. The seared scallop was a little pricey for what it is (45 USD), but it was tasty; just note that it won’t be enough if you plan to order it as your main dish.

It took me a while to decide whether or not I would write this review. We planned a trip to the West Coast and had heard so much about this place. We booked it weeks in advace. We arrived well before our time, but had no issue waiting. We sat down and our server was quite attentive. We ordered our appetizers and they came out in a timely manner. Our drinks tool a while. There were 4 of us and before we finished our appetizers, 3 of the 4 appetizers came out. Mine entree, nor the 4 sides We ordered were nowhere in sight. 10 minutes later nothing. We told the waitress and she took the 3 entrées back and stated that they would be kept warm. In the meantime, the manager came over because it wa set another 10 minutes and no food! He stated that they would "remake" the entrées. We had 2 Chilean Seabass and twin lobster tails so it made since not to reheat these items. Nevertheless, 5 more minutes pass and they bring everything except my whole main lobster again and all three entrées had been reheated or left under the warmer for way to long! Rubbery and not even hot. My lobster was on the side with a server being deshelled...they hadn't even asked if I wanted them to do so. My sister ordered the lobster masked potatoes and they were flooded with what the waitress called "butter" we frequent many restaurants and I've never seen anything like it. She sent that and her lobster tails back with only a bite taken. One of my sisters was too hungry and ate her rubbery seabass, but the other was very fat and it was bad, so she sent it back. The manager said he would "level" the bill which we expected a decent discount for the items kept. Only $50 was removed from the bill! They also left on items on the bill that were sent back because they were inedible! When we brought it to the attention of the server, she brought back the check with the items removed as well as the small $50 discount! My crispy tuna tostada was delicious ad well as my deshelled 3ld lobster...but other than that, disappointed would be an understatement! We were made aware of the fact that there is a Mastro's in Ft. Lauderdale and should we decide to try it, I hope it's a lot better!

I absolutely love the food at Mastro’s, and the service is typically excellent. That being said, my most recent experience at Mastro’s on Christmas Eve was a serious let down. We had reservations a month out and were still seated at a table for five when we had 6. It was extremely uncomfortable from the get go. Then, the server was forgetful, didn’t have even a basic understanding of the wine list, and was rushing us through the entire meal. It seemed that we constantly had to look for her just to remind her that she forgot something. This experience has made me seriously reconsider Mastro’s. For 6 our check was 900 dollars and I expect much better service at that price point. I highly recommend the ocean house is avoided and if you decide to go to Mastro’s go to the Beverly Hills location instead. They do it far better and the food is the same. The only reason I’m leaving 3 stars is because of how good the food was.

Service: limited. Besides taking order, checked on us once, took forever to share the dessert menu.. by the time she returned and asked, I was in no mood of dessert (not sure how long we would have to wait). Good: salad was okay. Drink was good. Tuna tartar was good. The steak was AMAZING! (bone-in ribeye). Overall: the view was great. But based on the service, from the front desk to overall service, I think we will try other locations. (I know that the other locations would ask if we are celebrating any special occasion... But here they didn't. So if you are celebrating any special occasion, be sure to let them know in advance...)

Mastro's is a restaurant that promises a memorable dining experience, but our visit had a rocky start due to a frustrating reservation issue. Despite making reservations two weeks in advance and specifically requesting a window seat, we were disappointed to find out upon arrival that our seating preference could not be accommodated as promised. This initial hiccup was exacerbated by a rude hostess who seemed disinterested in providing good customer service. However, once we were finally seated, the evening took a turn for the better. The exceptional quality of food and service that followed truly made up for the initial inconvenience. We had 5 bottles of wine opened, each subject to a reasonable corkage fee of $50 per bottle, which added to the overall experience. It was a nice touch to be able to enjoy our own selection of wine with our meal. From the perfectly cooked filet mignon, ribeye, Chilean seabass with scallops, to the impressive 40 oz dry-aged Wagyu Tomahawk steak, every dish was a culinary delight. Our server was attentive and accommodating, despite the restaurant being packed. He ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional, making sure our glasses were always full and that we had everything we needed. The only other drawback of the evening was the lackluster music playing in the background, which did not quite match the high standard of the rest of the experience. Overall, Mastro's proved itself to be a top-notch dining establishment with exceptional food and service, even if the reservation process and initial seating experience left something to be desired. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special dining experience, as the quality of the food and service truly shines once you are seated and ready to enjoy your meal.

We really wanted to love Mastro’s, but the meal was a mixed bag. The Butter Cake is a 9/10, but the rest of the meal lagged behind. Our Filets were burnt on the outside, the Caesar Salad was drenched in dressing, and the Scalloped Potatoes were unfortunately undercooked and firm. As steakhouse regulars, we expected the fundamentals to be polished. While I’m sure they can do better, first impressions are everything, and this one didn't quite hit the mark for the price.

Food is always exceptional with steaks cooked perfectly and seafood towers on point, however after my last experience here I decided I will opt for the Beverly Hills location moving forward. It was a cold and windy night, and our table was near the front entry door. When someone from my party went to close it, we were told that a “celebrity guest” in the restaurant requested the door remain open. Excuse me? People are freezing and wind is blowing into the restaurant, all because of one person’s request? Absolutely unacceptable to be treating paying customers, a table of 9 people paying $400 per person, as less than a D-list celebrity. Needless to say we were left upset and disappointed with the overall experience. Treat your customers equally.

Some people may be impressed by the glitz. My wife and I thought Mastro’s reeked of a mobbed up nightclub style restaurant with unappetizing food and annoying musical entertainment. As if that was not enough, the valet parking fee of $19.00 made us wish we had dined at Cafe 27 up the road in the Topanga Canyon.

Didn't have the best customer service experience. The waitress called out the price for everything we ordered on the menu. It just felt weird. We tip'd the young man bussing tables because we communicated with him more. The waitress had the nerve to ask us directly why she didn't get a tip. Uncomfortable much. I'll still return to this establishment because the food was on point and the manager was cool and apologetic about the service.

(This review is lengthy so if you want a summary, skip to the end, please) The experience started out great by seeing what a beautiful location the place had. Unfortunately, my experience had gone down hill from there. To start, the valet seemed to be kind of rude and just bothered with his job. Next, the place was really crowded in the entry way because they had a lot of people waiting to be seated for their reservation so I did spend some time moving past people in tight spaces. Upon being seated, our server was really nice. He thoroughly explained the menu and what to look out for so he was doing his job correctly. I decided to get the drink called the Trial and Error which did not taste balanced. I was hoping for a nice mix of flavors but I seemed to just taste pure Vodka. I ordered the bacon steak as an appetizer, house salad, lamb chops, sautéed mushrooms, and the lobster macaroni and cheese. The bacon steak was just a fatty ham but it did have a lot of flavor. The house salad had way too large chunks of bleu cheese which made it hard to eat so I just ended up pushing the chunks out of the way. The lamb chops (ordered to medium-rare but seemed to be cooked to rare) and the lobster macaroni and cheese were quite flavorless which was disappointing. However, what was worse was that my friend's Chilean Sea Bass was cold in the center. Upon leaving, I was met with the valet again who kept closing the car door by the frameless window (leaving fingerprints all over the glass) which is just not how you open and close car doors. Especially, considering I am being charged $15 to have it parked, I do not want to have to go and clean fingerprints off the windows later. To summarize my experience at Mastro's, it would not be anything above mediocre. The food was overall flavorless and seemed lazily made. The valet needs to be better trained and they need to seat people faster. My experience here was not worth the $400 spent on a meal for two. You will have a more enjoyable experience at a Long Horn Steakhouse for an eighth of the price. If you value your time, money, and taste buds, I would go elsewhere. You can have much better food and a better experience at restaurants such as Water Grill, Capital Grill, and Vigilucci's. I will not be returning here or to any Mastro's in the future.

My experience at this particular Matros. I had booked a dinner for my wife's birthday at Mastros, which we have frequented before. I have not been to this Mastros but have been to the Mastros in Palm Desert, which i have had a great experience at. During my reservation call, i asked to be sat by the window due to my wife loving looking at the sea. I was told i would be accomodated and looked forward to it. The night of my dinner, we were not close to the window and sat closer to the inside of the restaurant. I was not really upset about that because i moved my reservation from 730 pm to 9 pm (Couldnt see the water that late). I bring this up because this is the start of our dinner and seemingly went downhill from here. When my wife and I were seated, the hostess walked off with our menus without saying anything. I am going to assume she had the wrong menus and went to go get the menus that had "Happy Birthday [insert wife's name] but im only assuming since she did not say anything. Now i understand we chose to go to the restaurant on a saturday night where its complete chaos, but i dislike getting sat 10 to 20 minutes before someone next to you and watching their food come out before mine. I witnessed several people receive birthday celebration cakes, which i have never had to request, and my wife did not receive one. Just seemed like we were not attended to like the Mastros in Palm Desert. Due to our frsutrations, My wife and I decided to leave without barely eating our food. We paid then went to the valet to retrieve our vehicle. When i spoke to the valet attendant, i was asked, "What do you want to do," after giving him my parking ticket. I was confused on what he was asking me. I didnt know if he was asking me for a tip or asking me if i wanted to pay. I paid then retreived my own vehicle due to the attendant still being at the ticket desk and my vehicle being a few feet over. Just an overall unpleasant experience at this Mastros. I try to make my wife's birthday exciting and memorable but our experience at this place was the opposite. I always try to find a positive out of everything, so i will say the food was fresh.

Looking to celebrate a large gathering? Look elsewhere. Came to celebrate my brother’s engagement. Party of 28 people. My brother rented out the whole back room. Everything was great until when I went to my vehicle (mind you my brother has spent thousands already) my vehicle was not valet, I parked it myself because we arrived hours before the restaurant was open. Once I arrived at my vehicle, the valet guy (white guy with facial hair, worked 11/24/25 Monday night) chased me down and told me I had to pay for parking?? If I valet my vehicle I could understand. But even after my brother spent over 10k to reserve a room, the valet chased me down for parking. It’s not about the money ($20 btw!) it was about the fact that even though you spend thousands at -what used to be the great -mastros, they will still leach you for parking. *edit* I just talked to the rest of my family. I was the first one to leave and the only one charged! Nobody else was charged! Mastros, fix your valet department.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE! We had an INCREDIBLE view and honestly that's what we paid $500 for because the food was just fine and the service was horrible. I would like to assume the waitress was new but if that was the case we should have been given two. We waited 15-20 mins for her to ask if wanted something to drink. While we watched everyone around us receive water and table settings right away I had to ask twice for that to happen. She OFFERED us bread (it never came but somehow she charged us for it) and tried to sell the truffle butter as this alternative cooking style yet never mentioned it was $15 to add despite the fact that none of us actually asked for it. She gave it to us anyway so we were surprised to see $60 worth of butter on the bill - which to be clear is fine, if we'd asked for it or she mentioned it came with an additional charge. She sucked. Me and another guest got a tequila drink and she never asked him what type of tequila he wanted so she just chose something and charged us instead of simply asking. We approached the manager about it and he was kind. He took care of the drinks (all three of them) and gave us free dessert. He asked her to drop off the check and that took her maybe 25 mins? He was definitely upset about that. The sauteed asparagus was not sauteed LOL it had no slight char no salt no lemon no nothing. It sucks that we had to wonder if we were being treated so poorly because we were a young-ish, Black group of four. We couldn't understand why nobody paid us any attention or tried to meet our needs. As someone who worked in a restaurant I am fully aware that our experience was awful and unacceptable, especially at a place where guests kick out $500+ easily. The least Mastros could do is emphasize solid service. My wife also had to vomit shortly after dinner so that was great.

I’m writing to bring to your attention a very disappointing experience I had at your restaurant yesterday during my best friend’s birthday celebration. I chose Mastro’s because of its reputation for exceptional service (so I thought ) and attention to detail, and unfortunately, what we experienced fell far below those expectations. When we arrived, we were asked if we were celebrating anything. Normally, at a place of this level similar to how Ruth’s Chris Steak OCEAN PRIME , handles special occasions the staff already knows from the reservation and greets the guest accordingly, complete with the personalized birthday menu. So I simply asked whether my friend would be receiving her special menu. The response I got from the a manager was not only unprofessional but deeply disrespectful. He said, “Are you going to wait for me to give you the menu before you ask that question?” and then followed it with, “Oh, is that right?” The tone, the sarcasm, the attitude completely unnecessary. I was genuinely taken aback. I held my composure only because I knew I would address it afterward. I went to speak to another manager, and that is when I learned that the person who spoke to me that way is himself a manager. I then spoke with a manager named Key, who told me he would “take care of it,” but based on the lack of follow-up and the overall handling, it felt more like we were being dismissed than taken care of. Now our server was excellent. His service was the highlight of our night. But the food? Not at the level Mastro’s is known for. The Brussels sprouts came out cold, the steak wasn’t cooked to the requested temperature, and for a bill of nearly $700 before tip, the experience should have been far better in every way. What troubles me the most is that I cannot shake the feeling that if we were not people of color, the interaction with that manager would have gone very differently. The treatment we received did not feel equal, fair, or professional. It took away from what was supposed to be a special night for my best friend, and that is something I take seriously. I’m reaching out because I believe Corporate should be made aware. I’m not writing this out of anger but out of genuine concern no guest should ever be spoken to or treated that way, especially at a restaurant like Mastro’s I would appreciate a follow-up but I won’t hold my breath I think. Contacting a high up will be best .

Underwhelming, to say the least. We arrived on time for our reservation and were left standing in the entry way for 10+ minutes without explanation while others were sat. We were finally sat at a table that was clearly meant for 4 people…..there were 6 of us. It’s almost as if they forgot about our reservation and had to put a table together on the fly. Whatever, not a big deal….it happens. Anyways. We asked our waiter if we could move tables and they accommodated, although now we were out on the deck instead of the nice dining room. Again, not ideal but certainly not the end of the world. Onto the food. 4 out of the 6 meals were good. My meal in particular, was not. I ordered the bone-in dry aged ribeye medium rare. It wasn’t medium rare, it wasn’t even rare, it was RAW. I waited 20+ minutes for our server to return so I could hopefully get this taken care of and enjoy my meal with everyone else. By the time he returned everyone else had finished their meals. He was nice and apologetic, and asked if I wanted them to put it back on or cook one for me to take home. Nice offers, but it was too late for that. (Side note: I had lobster with my steak and it was chewy and lifeless. My guess is it’s frozen.) About 10 minutes later one of the managers came over to apologize and she was very nice and removed my meal from the bill. I don’t want to sound unappreciative, but it’s not about the money. I made a reservation and came here tonight and I’m willing to pay the money. I want my meal to be good! One thing that did make me laugh is when the staff apologizes, they say “I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your meal” and not “I’m sorry we cooked your steak wrong”. I’d give them another shot because everyone else seemed to have good meals. But it really was a disappointing evening.
