It's a grand station and looks smart too, but didn't use the service, no comment on thay
Porta Nuova Railway Station is one of Italy’s busiest transportation hubs, offering excellent connectivity to major cities like Milan, Rome, and Florence. The station is well-organized, with clear signage and helpful staff. Porta Nuova is a shopper’s paradise, with a mix of high-end boutiques, international brands, and local shops. The nearby Via Roma and Galleria San Federico offer a wide range of options for fashion, accessories, and souvenirs.
Nice Train station in Turin. Plenty of shops and restaurants inside the train station. The real beauty of this station comes alive at night. The front is beautiful with the glass lit up. The buses and tram lines are located in front of the station. The Tourist Information Center is located right across the street before you enter the park. It is a very easy walk into the center of Turin and all the main sites. We enjoyed our visit of this station and all that Turin had to offer. Beautiful city.
Not a huge train station and with few shops for a big city like Turin. But it's easy to find your way around. There is a place to drink coffee, buy bus tickets, etc. A simple but beautiful station. Not big but meets the needs of those passing through its gates. (Bathrooms cost money!! I don't understand this thing. Why do they want people to relieve themselves outside the station?).
Clean, stylish and feels just like the main station in Rome! I imagine they are designed by the same person. This station has many facilities, restaurants and good waiting areas, there are many transport links right outside, too. As far as big central stations go this one didn’t feel very unsafe, but there were a few sketchy characters around but it was fine otherwise.
The name "Porta Nuova" is due to the name of the new southern gate of 1620 , due to the first expansion of the historic center of Turin towards the so-called "Città Nova", or rather the urban expansion wanted above all towards the south by Carlo Emanuele I of Savoy . In fact, the ancient southern gate of via Santa Teresa at the corner of via San Tommaso (called "Porta Marmorea") was demolished at the beginning of the 14th century , the first masonry "Porta Nuova" of 1620 was only temporary, located between the current Piazza Carlo Felice and the initial stretch of the so-called Via Nuova (today's Via Roma ). The "gate" was, in fact, only to be part of the wider scenographic project of the city, essentially organized for the arrival of Christine of France , which took place the same year, on the occasion of her wedding with Duke Vittorio Amedeo I of Savoy .
Great open and organized train station located near central Turino. Very easy to navigate with wonderful information and signage that you cant miss.. there is a sixt rental car station placed in the main entry/lobby area and the trains are a 3 minute walk straight ahead from the front doors. The station is also a 10-15 minute walk from the Piazza castello. Took the high speed train to Milan from here and it was a very stress free experience. Trains typically are granted the platform number about 15-25 minutes in advance of departure. Highly recommend.
Inside there is a place to buy Under 26 GTT card. If you enter through the gate on Via Nizza and walk straight ahead, you’ll see the place where you need to go to get your GTT card. You can either go early in the morning to wait in line, or purchase it online and pick up your ready card there. You don’t need to bring a passport photo – they can take your photo on site.
Architectural beauty this train station. Low point toilets otherwise full of shops, clean when I was there, interesting history and architectural elements. In front of it is the famous Hotel Roma where many celebrities stayed like the writer Cesare Pavese in his last days.
Located in the hearth of Turin, this is the main train station of the city. It has been recently renovated and has plenty of facilities. You can access the metro station directly from the main hall. The station is also well connected to the airport with dedicated buses. If you come by car, it won’t be so easy to find a parking. Keep it in mind.
A somewhat old station. Furthermore, the toilets are very clean. The station is quite centrally located in Turin. You can easily walk to the shopping center. Additionally, there are good bus connections to the outskirts of Turin. Many trains also travel to other cities within Italy, and it's all easy to find.
By far one of the worst stations in Europe. I haven’t tried many others in Italy, so there's room for worse. It's grossly overstaffed, yet nothing gets done.
NOT air conditioned on a sweltering summer day and the public toilets involve extortion, badly executed. The toilets in the food court are only accessible with a qr code when you purchase something (extortion), but the codes/machines don’t work! So it’s back and forth between the toilets and the place where you purchased to ask for new codes and gamble again. And no you can’t pay for the toilet and then have credit for a purchase like at a gas station. Shame on you. You’re not in the 21st century.
Great station, trains and routes, beautiful building, amazing stores. BUT, the worst passenger services in the world! If you need to go to the toilet (which are only two of them by the way, from what some worker told me), you have to buy something from a store. And they give you a printed qr code, which you can use ONLY ONCE! Good luck if you have to wait here for a train for a few hours. That's how I ended up spending like 15 euro just to buy bottles of water that I had to throw away, so my wife and I can go to the toilet for a few times. Great waste of money, plastic and paper Torino! Also, it would have been worth it if the toilets were clean, but they stink and are awful. Ruined my whole evening.
