We had my daughters baby shower in the Masher Room. The atmosphere was wonderful and all of the staff are extremely helpful. They set up the buffet area and the tables linens beautifully with the exact vision I had. Also because no one had the room reserved the evening prior, they allowed us to come in and decorate, which was so helpful! The food was delicious and their pizzas are awesome. The overall service was top notch. I highly recommend having your event at DeFasio’s at 216.
We sat at the chefs counter and it was really nice. The food here is delicious. Cool ambiance as well. Meatballs were fantastic, pizza is top notch, and even the desserts were great. crème brûlée cheesecake was possibly the best I’ve ever had. The cannoli was a 3/5, and the espresso was a good shot! Will definitely be coming back.
Excellent in every way! We cannot wait to go back to this restaurant. Delicious delicious delicious food! Pasta definitely al dente. Do the chef's counter if you're going as a couple. We loved the holiday decor, the cocktails, and the service. Superb, and we will be back!
The best pizza for 100’s of miles. The service was impeccable. Great beer selection. You would never guess you are in downtown Troy! And the hangover cake is a MUST!!
Finally able to get a reservation and it was worth it. The staff are all great, and the food is amazing. The Caesar Salad, Beans and Greens, and pizza were all tasty. Looking forward to many returns to try more options. Updated: Tried the Chicken Parmesan, it's very good. It has enough sauce, but not too much. The homemade linguine was cooked just right.
Defazios was excellent from start to finish. I received an immediate response to my initial inquiry and every question I had. Options were clear, set up help invaluable, food perfect!
Some of the best service and Italian we’ve had in a while. We got a bottle of wine to share between the 2 of us and we loved that the wine list was curated to fit the menu perfectly. With that said, it’s not an extensive list which is the way I like it. Such a nice touch. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet casual and very cozy. Pricing for what you get is some of the best in the area and they thankfully make their carbonara without cream (the right way lol)!! Such a great experience. We will be back!
Busy for a Thursday evening in Troy. Pulled up to the bar to enjoy a couple beers, a delicious pizza and a Ceaser Salad with my wife. Service at the bar was excellent. Salad was plentiful and tasty. Pizza was just like my taste buds remember from the original location. Scene was festive and ambiance will bring us back. Next time we will try making reservations for the front dining room.
A fantastic addition to the Troy restaurant scene. The modern sister to the original DeFazios right down the street. The pizzas are easy to share with delicious, flavorful options. Large dining area but sitting at the bar is fun. The bartenders are lively and interactive as they craft drinks.
My husband and I came to the restaurant to celebrate my 40th birthday. From the beginning, we received a warm welcome from the hostess. We reserved a place at their chef's counter, so we got to watch all the prep and the food being made. Luke was our waiter who was both friendly and attentive. All of our food was delicious, especially the foccacia bread! The shrimp Rosario was a wonderful delight as well. The owners came by to check in on our meal experience. Their chocolate mousse cake was scrumptious and the bartender paired a beautiful wine with it. A pure 10 out of 10! Support this amazing local business. You will not be disappointed!
Absolutely delicious pizza and pasta (my son said "best pizza ever"). The pistachio pizza may be one of the best I've ever tried. Everyone has a great meal, with the meatballs as another standout. It's a really nice space, though the smaller room can get loud. Good service as well.
Everything about this dining experience exceeded expectations! The food, drinks, and service were all excellent. I really enjoyed the Little Italy cocktail, and there were great options for beer and wine as well. I ordered the white clam sauce with linguini, which was very flavorful and not overly saucy. Linguini was cooked perfectly. Our son loved the cheese pizza and chocolate mousse cake dessert. Can't wait to return!

DeFazio’s at 216 was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. From the top tier cocktails, to the homemade pasta and then the pizza crust 👌🏼 I will dream about that crust. Great service and ambiance! I will be back again and again when I’m in the area.
We had a small rehearsal dinner (about 50 people) here and everything went great! Everyone loved the food and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. We had a good amount of people attended who are gluten free and they had plenty of options to choose from! Would definitely book here again for other events.
My partner and I had a really pleasant date here on a Friday night. We walked into a beautiful and boisterous dining room -- definitely don't except to be able to have quiet conversation here, it is LOUD and you will be raising your voice to talk to your dining companions. Their drink menu, especially the wine list, is extensive. I opted for a strawberry gin cocktail which was well-balanced and delicious. We took a chance on the arugula salad, both thinking it might be too simple, but were so pleasantly surprised by how good it was. A big bunch of arugula dressed in a lemon vinaigrette with Romano and crispy garlic and shallots, we could not stop eating it, and we're still talking about how much we liked it days later. We've been fans of DeFazio's pizza for a long time so we knew the pizza would be good, the roasted garlic and eggplant one we got had some really nice char and was the deliciousness we expect from a DeFazio's pizza. The one entree that was bit disappointing was the Cacio e pepe. I prefer this dish with the traditional bucatini, but this one is served with linguini and it fell into the pitfall many Cacio e pepe's can fall into -- it was clumpy. When done right Cacio e pepe is smooth, but the cheese broke on this one so while it had a really nice strong peppery flavor, the texture was off. Granted our waitress did forget to put this order in initially so I feel like they might've rushed it, which might be why it was not prepared correctly. We finished our meal with a very generous serving of a silky smooth tiramisu; I did find myself looking for a bit more of a coffee flavor but it was a tasty dessert nonetheless. Overall, I really like what they're doing here even though there are some things I wish were done a bit better and I'm definitely going back for that arugula salad!
I visited Defazios at 216 for the first time last week. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how massive and polished it looks. I was very impressed with the design and layout of the restaurant. There is both a front and back entrance - which is great idea considering parking. My table sat in the family room. The first thing you notice when you sit has to be the acoustics. Despite eating at a table set for 6, you could not hear what the person at the other end of the table was saying. Someone at my table actually put in their AirPods to drown out some of the noise, which was a great idea. There was also some kind of electrical issue in the room we were in as well. The lights had flickered four times when we were there, which coupled with the acoustics, it just wasn’t a good mix. The food was great. We got antipasto , the Caesar salad, and meatballs with ricotta. We wish there was more bread that came with ricotta because there was just so much ricotta on the plate! I also just wanted to note that the bread crumbs on the Caesar were amazing, definitely homemade. The service was good, but I will say one thing that was hard was all our food did not come out at the same time. 4/6 people at the table had their meals and the other two waited patiently for 5-10 minutes We got a mix of entrees. The Pizza was great (we got “the Vinny”), I definitely think that pizza is always a sure bet. Another person at our table got the carbonara and it didn’t taste like much (although I will say the next day it tasted better, maybe it just needed to sit for a little). I thought that the Cajun Chicken Alfredo was one of the best things we got at our table. The noodles are very thick and it was very filling. For dessert our table got a tiramisu and limoncello which was phenomenal. I definitely will be back, and understand this is a new operation so it might take a few months until they are performing at their best. I hope this review can help this location because local business is important!
OK, first we need to address the elephant in the room and that is the noise level. We were in the front dining room and it was almost impossible to hear conversations at a six top. They really need to do something such as sound absorbing tiles or some other Mediation. OK, I feel better. So there were six of us and we started off with drinks and everyone was happy. I had two drinks which is very unusual for me because the mango tango’s were so good. Flavored rum, and a bunch of different fruit juices served with a garnish of dried mango. Others had pomegranate margaritas and no one was unhappy. We started with focaccia which was oily and grilled I think. I prefer it just warm but not grilled but it was delicious anyway. Served with an oil and balsamic mix. The salads are absolutely huge. Luke said that two of us could split one, but really it’s good for three. The Caesar salad came with real old-fashioned anchovies and not the newfangled white kind. The arugula salad was just as large and just as good. 3/4 of it came home. For entrées, we had a wide variety. I couldn’t resist the cavatelli with pumpkin, a vegan dish that was too unusual to pass on. The pasta was delicious cooked just right on homemade I believe. The best description is that it came with a carrot sauce with carrot broth and carrots that were more stringy than anything else. It was really unusual and will be especially good. Come the fall. Everyone like their entrées. Shrimp oregenata, chicken Parmesan, one couple split a pizza and one had a meatball appetizer and salad. The only disappointing entrée was the chicken and artichoke risotto. The chicken on the artichokes were just fine, but the risotto wasn’t. It was probably our boreal rice, but but it tasted like regular white rice. It came out on a plate, not garnished in any way and really, not appealing to look at; the one choice we wouldn’t repeat. We split two desserts, a slice of their hangover cake, which was really amazing. A very wet type sponge cake with liqueurs in it and literally melted in your mouth. We also shared a piece of the cheesecake of the day, which was Basque cheesecake. Regular cheesecake with a sugar crust on top. The cheesecake might have been ricotta, but was not as heavy as I like my cheesecake. The service by Luke and his colleagues was friendly and attentive. A solid four with a couple of hiccups.

We had a lovely dinner here. The food and drinks were fantastic (highly recommend the strawberry gin cocktail). However service was very slow. We were seated for an 8:30 reservation and had tickets to a show at 9:45, figuring we would be wrapping up around 9:30ish. We ordered our appetizers very soon after being seated and ordered our mains around 8:50. We did not get our starters until 9 and our meals until 9:35. The staff was accommodating and helped us pack up our food but wish it was just a tad quicker because we had plans and were already quite hungry when we got there. Definitely plan to come here spend some time, enjoy your evening and lounge around!

Rarely do I go out to eat and think “meh.” Have been a huge fan of DiFazio’s pizza for years and decided to try their new restaurant. It’s definitely beautiful inside. We had a 6:30 reservation and still had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated (though our table was empty). For a table of 5, they added a folding chair to a 4-top. Certainly not a big deal but for a nicer restaurant, you would expect a real chair. Their menu isn’t overly large but covers a lot of the basics. The pizza (Vinny) was good. Chicken parm was underwhelming for $27 and the pasta was heavily al dente. Comically bad beer pours to the point I went up to the bar to speak with the bartender about the taps and they said everything is in cans. Couldn’t tell if the beer came in a 12 or 16oz can. Should just ask for the can if you order beer. I think DeFazio’s lost their way with this restaurant concept. It does not have the niceties of an upscale Italian restaurant (free bread, nice chairs, tablecloths) while still trying to charge $25+ for entrees.
Atmosphere was amazing, super new, super clean, super stylish. Service was good and server was attentive. Unfortunately the food was not great everything was cooked well but was very bland. From pizza to pasta it was all bland and the meatballs are super soft which may be okay for some but not for me. Very disappointing because Difazios up the street has great flavorful pizza! Overall a fun night especially for larger parties and to enjoy an elegant nights dinner but if your looking for the best Italian in Troy keep looking.

First things first, it was my best friends birthday and the reservation said it was her birthday. The hosts were all very enthusiastic we thought we were going to be a great time. The waitress Alyssa had no smile on her face, checked my bestfriends ID didn’t say happy birthday and her attitude was completely off. The Pistachio pizza was amazing and so was the Ricotta dip. Alyssa didn’t smile not one time and looked like she hated her job. At a point she even yelled across the room to tell us our food was coming (the restaurant was not busy). The pasta was all amazing me and my best friend and my sister all enjoyed our food until hair was found wrapped in the cheese in the chicken parm. When we told Alyssa she didn’t even apologize she grabbed the food and the strand of hair then walked away??? Afterwards she came back slapped the bill onto the table and we were all so confused. We asked for the manager and she spoke over us to say the bill didn’t have the chicken parm on it (why not ask if she wanted a new one and why not apologize and explain the bill ???) the manager came and we explained how this was a negative experience for us and he responded with gaslighting us by telling us this is the first complaint Alyssa has had. He didn’t apologize but he offered my best friend a free dessert. We are not normally people to complain but this was a 0/10 service.

Was really excited to try this place because our family loves Defazio's pizza. We were Extremely disappointed, the food was terrible and the ambiance was cheaply put together. The pasta dishes we both ordered were so bad, we pretty much threw them away immediately after leaving the restaurant. Our server didn't even provide forks, we got serving spoons to eat with linguine pasta. Who does that... Paid $150 for 1 personal pizza, 1 app, 2 pasta dishes and 4 beers. Way overpriced for what you get, I will never come back! They try to act like an up-scale italian restaurant, charging the same prices ($25+ per dish) as D'raymonds. Don't waste your money here.
