Opinions de Kuma Ani Troy
This was a delicious ramen restaurant in Troy that we had visited for dinner on a Saturday evening. There are about 4 booths and 3 counter height tables inside. We were able to snag a booth after a few minutes of waiting. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer for your order. The ultimate tonkatsu ramen and the regular tonkatsu ramen were both delicious and I recommend them. A friend said that her curry ramen was a bit too spicy but it did look good. I do like spicy food so I might try that next time. Ordered the Chicken karage and it was delicious too. Very nice and juicy chicken wings with your choice of sauce. We chose the BBQ garlic and it was ok. Not much flavor to it so I don't recommend that sauce. Service was very friendly!
I ordered the ramen, to go- very flavorful! And a HUGE amount of it as well, so the portion size is pretty big. A weeee bit over priced (I did get an add on, so maybe that’s why), but worth it. Not a place to hit up every single day, but maybe a few times a month/couple of months kind of thing.
The ramen here is top notch!!! I ordered the vegan ramen with some additional toppings, and it was incredible. The shoyu broth is delicious, and the toppings were all just as I wanted 👌🏻
Great authentic ramen! Haha to try the marinated eggs 👌
Spicy chicken curry ramen was amazing. Flavorful , spicy, and smooth. 10/10 would recommend and will be revisiting in the future. Best first time ramen experience 🍜
I'd come back here for lunch every day if I could! Being very reasonably priced, I was happy I stumbled across Kuma Ani for lunch. Every aspect of my meal tasted fresh and savory.
Loved it. This place knows it's Ramen. I would recommend the build your own bowl. The Sake was really good as well. They also have some really cool drinks that are very rare around here. Will be eating here a lot more.
This place is pretty much authentic ramen you can eat in Japan! The restaurant was clean and spacious with interesting paintings. The Ultimate Tonkotsu Ramen had a very flavorful soup and the noodle was a fine noodle that went really well with the soup. The pork belly (chashuu) melted in your mouth. Tonkotsu Ramen would be recommended for people that want a lighter taste than the ultimate tonkotsu ramen. It was also delicious. The Tori Ramen (chicken) was also delicious with the chicken/vegetable broth. You can tell the owner puts passion into creating the different dishes. Kuma-Ani (Bear Brother) is a cool name. We will definitely go back to this place the next time we are in Troy.
I got the Tonkotsu and was nervous that I wouldn't like it but am always looking for new things. Turns out I loved it and the chicken buns. The people were very friendly and willing to answer questions. The dining room and bathrooms were clean. Everything I want at a restaurant. I will be back and will bring friends and family.
Great service. the Ramen Gyu with Beef was delicious. The Cilantro was a perfect accompaniment. Kuma Ani located in College Station Troy, NY is a must try!
What an excellent little lunch and dinner spot. Plenty of room to eat with friends, and a cozy vibe. The food was amazing. I had the Tonkatsu Ramen, and it was great. The portion was just perfect, not to much or too little. And the price was about what I'd expect from a ramen place. Highly recommend everyone check this place out!
Best ramen I’ve ever had. I saw they make the ramen noodles right in the restaurant! I got the ultimate tonkotsu and a an order of pork buns and it was amazing! I also got the ban mein to go and I could add whatever toppings I wanted to it. I like that you can customize it. They have an enormous drink selection. I will be going there again. :)
Phenomenal ramen! My husband and I ate there for the first time last night and wow. Loved the vegan ramen and it’s so cozy in there too. Will definitely be back!

Ordered pickup. I got the Japanese curry. DELICIOUS!!!! I will definitely be ordering again. Next time, I will ask for no spice, as I can no longer tolerate spicy food. I still loved the taste, rich, savory. Generous portions. I'm sure I can get 3 meals out of one order. I got the seaweed salad as a side. A perfect way to cool down from the spice in the curry.
Very delicious food in a nice restaurant. The service is very friendly and the restaurant is clean and has a great vibe. I ordered the ultimate tonkotsu ramen and the Korean fried chicken. Both were incredibly tasty and came out piping hot. Fresh ingredients and everything was made to order. The chicken wings were especially incredible—cooked to perfection!—and I ordered two different sauces to go with it. Of the two, I liked the sweet chili sauce more. As far as the ramen was concerned, I prefer a richer broth, so it wasn’t the best ramen I’ve had. But I’ll definitely be back!
Very tasty. Meat was nice and tender. A good place to visit once in a while. If the prices were a bit lower, I'd be likely to visit more!
Really enjoyed my experience at Kuma Ani! Their ultimate tonkotsu ramen was delicious with wonderful savory and salty flavors. We also ordered the fried tofu with sweet sesame sauce and loved it. Very glad to see that they also have vegan ramen so my partner and I could both enjoy bowls.

Calling this "ramen" is an insult to the Japanese, same as calling Panda Express "Chinese food" is an insult to the Chinese. That latter preference is proper per what's going on at this restaurant: Chinese folks are attempting to reproduce Japanese recipes. And failing when it comes to the ramen, if only. I've tried their "tonkotsu ramen" and noticed the following issues. 1. A hint of five spice powder on the chashu, which is spelled as Chinese-style "char-siu." 2. Soggy, lifeless overdone noodles. 3. Menma poorly seasoned, thus noticably retaining the pungent quality as when bought. 4. What the hell is cabbage doing here? It doesn't belong. 5. Tomago features correct yolk consistency, but entirely bland (i.e., no marination) and served cold (i.e., premade in (?)batches). 5. No shichimi. 6. Finally, the main canvas to tie all ingredients together: the broth. Which has an "instant noodle" taste due to the spices used. Yes, those problems combined means this feels no difference than eating really pricey instant noodles. But calling it so could be an insult to actual instant noodles.
The delivery person was nice, but seemed a bit confused if i was the right person. My order was missing a few toppings I payed extra for, and I ordered level 2 spice. Ive had that level at the Albany branch and it was delicious. This time when I tried to slurp the broth there was so much hot oil. My throat closed up and my partner and I almost had to call emergency line. So disappointed with the food.
I really love trying new foods, but the meal quality of Kuma Ani would turn me away from ramen restaurants if I didn't know better. The broth is consistently oily and not a creamy texture. It has often been served with cold noodles. The meat is also typically not tender. I have also tried the Zha Jiang Men and it lacked flavor compared to other Korean restaurants I have tried (or even compared to meal kits from the refrigerated section at the Asian store). The takoyaki is consistently soggy and has too much sauce (probably what causes the texture issue). I have never tried their rice bowl dishes but I am hesitant to order from here again.

Said they are open on Thursdays in Uber Eats at 5:15pm. It's already 6pm and they didn't enable Uber Eats and when we passed by we saw it is open. Disappointed. We ended buying food in another place near them.
