First off - what an absolute gem of a place! Came here on a Sunday of a holiday weekend mid afternoon and our group of 4 was able to sit right away. Really casual diner-like atmosphere with a counter and only a few tables. Patrons are encouraged to grab drinks from a cooler if you don’t want coffee or tea. Turned out to be some of the be some of the best diner food I’ve ever had. The folks who took us here said that the industry eggplant sandwich was their death row meal and just WOW. While I like eggplant, I normally wouldn’t go for it. I am SO glad I did. The pesto mayo and the crispiness of the eggplant and hash brown lives rent free in my head. The cherry peppers provide a perfect little kick. The pancakes were also top tier. It’s hard to nail a classic and this place does. BEC was also hefty and delicious. I am already dreaming about coming back here. Thank you for the joy!

Naugheters is a true breakfast treasure! With The Cranberries playing on cassette and vintage photos showcasing the city’s past, the ambiance is unmatched. The French toast sticks were perfectly crispy, the eggs Benedict featured the hollandaise, and the egg sandwich with a hashbrown was pure comfort food. A must-visit for a memorable breakfast experience! Sorry, didn't think to get photos before digging in, but never the less, delicious.

Small inside (Only 9-10 seats) plus counter service, with a couple of tables on the sidewalk, but the service and food was excellent. If you sit at the counter, you can watch them prepare your meal - you can see the attention to detail in his movements.. The lunch menu isn't large, and we wanted something different, so we ordered the chick pea salad and industrial eggplant sandwiches. The chick pea salad was surprisingly delicious, and my eggplant was also impressively tasty. And then I realized our meals were vegan as well (we are not vegetarians). I cut the eggplant sandwich in half (which squished it a little) and took a picture so you can see the layers of flavor. The fries were also very good. Very simple, like the french fries we would get decades ago. No coating. No processing, just fries cooked perfectly. {Edit] We revisited and came for breakfast this time. Home fries were awesome - the best I've had in years . The chef really knows the difference between eggs over easy and eggs over medium. Toast was perfectly grilled (not toasted), moist, crunchy, but not greasy. They really care about each item then cook. Atmosphere was old fashioned and simple, but fun. Like a luncheonette from the 60's. Great music.

Update: i finally tried the french toast here and it is amazing! Crunchy and tossed with sugar. Everyone should order this, perhaps as an extra dish to share. The burger here is really good as are the fries. The tuna melt is great, wish it came with some more fresh lettuce or tomatoes. Original review: Amazing little spot in downtown troy. Super cool vibes and great staff, the food is simple. Sometimes have to wait a bit as its very small inside but usually things move fairly quickly. Love the coffee refills too. Homefries, egg, toast, bacon egg and cheese are all good Cant wait to try the chopped cheese

We were visiting our son at RPI and was looking for a place that serves breakfast. We’re so glad to find this gem in downtown Troy. I had the Eggs Benedict, and it was perfect. My husband had the French omelette and it was also cooked perfectly and good. The storefront is light blue. We missed it the first time because we didn’t see a sign. We will definitely be back to try their lunch and dinner menus.

This place is like a time capsule in the best way. The folks who work there are really nice, and the menu is what I'd call the highlights reel of a typical American diner: breakfast, sides, fries, and sandwiches. I can honestly say the fries are phenomenal - perfection when hot, and still really darn good when room temperature. The pancakes are also just exactly what I was hoping for, fluffy straightforward deliciousness. I can't wait to go back.

Food is great. We (2 people) ordered vegetable hash with two sunny-side up eggs, French omelette and French toast. The vegie hash contains beet, potato and arugula. It is so good. The toast is soft and fluffy. Recommend it. Should try the scotch egg next time.

What a great place! We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome, and we instantly loved the space. The menu has everything you could possibly want for breakfast and some deep cuts you don't see elsewhere (but one wishes were more pervasive) such as Scotch eggs and vegetable hash. The food doesn't disappoint! We loved everything we ordered (sausage, hash browns, vegetable hash, and scotch eggs). Would definitely recommend.

Great late night option when your out in Troy. Would be 5 stars but they aren't as good as a few years ago when they would be blasting Metallica and Pearl Jam. Music at my last visit was meh. Some of my favorite menu items arent there anymore. Short stack and chopped cheese were great. Fries arent my favorite style so I would say they are mediocre. Bathrooms are super annoying to get to.

Had a great experience the first time I came. The second, not so much — the subcontinental waiter spoke English poorly with a heavy accent and got our order wrong. Half the food was sitting getting cold while we were waiting for silverware and the second half our notably simple order until I went up to the bar to rectify things. Not a great experience. Will definitely try it again, as the food is good, but the experience with this particular waiter was subpar to say the least.

I’ve been to Naughters twice, and honestly, I’m a little surprised by its high rating. It’s an adorable diner with charming interiors that have a vintage vibe. When you enter, you’ll find a few tables and some bar seats. Due to the limited seating, depending on the day and time, you might encounter a wait. The menu at Naughters is small. I’ve tried their vegetable hash and the eggplant sandwich. The food was just okay, but it was nice to see the chefs cooking right in front of you in the open kitchen. The staff were quick, patient, and attentive. The coffee was also just okay. One advantage this spot has is that it’s open till 2:30 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, making it a potential go-to for a late-night bite after drinks. I felt like my experience was pretty average, and I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.
