Halal Guys is one of my favorite chains in the OC. I usually frequent the one in Cerritos and this was my first visit to the Irvine/tustin location. The staff was friendly and the food was great as always. The rice was a bit greasier than usual but I love the spices they put in the rice so I powered through. I appreciate that none of their locations skimp on the sauces. Sorry for having no photos, I ate it too fast

The best part were the fries. Nice and crispy. The hummus was really good and the olives were tasty. The hot sauce is hotter than a typical chili sauce. The white sauce was like a seasoned mayo. The spiced chicken wasn't my favorite but the regular chicken was better.

Since the lines in NYC are so long, I thought I'd try eating at one of their SoCal locations to see what the fuss is all about. The food is definitely good, but I feel it could be hit or miss. There's flavour, but the texture in the chicken was a touch dry and honestly, while nice, I've now tried it and I haven't had a "craving" for it again since. If you're a big meat eater, this is your paradise, for sure. The service in this Tustin location was good, and the restaurant was clean and staff were friendly. It definitely filled the spot when looking for a nice, warm, non offensive meal, and again, something I think you've got to try once, to see what all of the popularity is about.

Excellent high quality shaved beef and chicken plates which are moist, seasoned to perfection and come with rice, salad and white sauce to top of the plate with a smooth creamy texture. There is a lack of seating and this location is busy, so you know the food is fresh and has great flavor. The staff us patient and attentive in this cafeteria style eatery. For those vegetarians in the audience they offer falafel which is crispy on the outside and fork tender on the inside.

I absolutely LOVE The Halal Guys! Their food is seriously legit. If I had a friend visiting who’s never tried it before, this spot would be one of my top recommendations. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 (which I’d save for the Costa Mesa location) because they seemed a bit more conservative with the protein here. The Costa Mesa spot piles it on like a champ! But the flavor and quality are just as amazing at both places. Honestly, I still loved it just as much—just wished there was a little more meat haha (guess I’m such a fatty). Anyway, definitely go for the combo plate. Extra white sauce all the way. And if you’re like me and don’t handle spice well, a little red sauce on the side is perfect. No doubt I’ll be back!

Been here a few times about 30-mins before their closing, and they are always so disappointed to see a new guest at that time (chairs flipped into tables, food already put away or being out away, etc.). Totally get trying to be efficient, but it makes for an unwelcoming environment and the scraps never taste as good. Went back in the afternoon, and waited so long for someone to even say hello, that we left. Maybe it's just all around poor staffing.

I always get the gyro plate and in the past have always notice they scoop through the meat and try to mix it to distribute "ends" (the chewy almost charred shavings that taste amazing with quality pieces mixed in) with the tender pieces but I got a big ole tub of the shaved tiny ends... much like what you would expect when you are scraping the bottom of an almost empty container. I don't know..... just like, care about what you serve... too bad for me I didn't notice until I got home. If this is your first time here can you have a bad experience please go to the one in Long Beach or Costa Mesa. It is GOOD food and the service is usually much more on point. Update: I came back and the service and food were much better

All of the food I've had is very tasty. I've had the platters of chicken, beef gyro, and falafel. They also had a new lamb which is limited time and that had a good strong flavor. However, since I started eating here years ago, it looks like they're serving size has diminished, while prices are quite high. So the value is not that great. I recommend getting the white sauce on the side so you can adjust each bite. The white sauce is definitely important. They also have a hot sauce which packs a pretty good punch. Service and atmosphere is average for a fast food place.

Really disappointing. Got DoorDash and they hadn’t started making my order until after it was supposed to be ready. Three people working and they couldn’t keep up with basic orders. And everything was wrong + gross. And instead of the normal white sauce packaging, I got bags marked “Keep Refrigerated” that were room temperature at best.

I’ve used Uber Eats at this place several times before and have never had a bad experience, so this may have just been an unlucky visit. I arrived about 10 minutes after the pickup time shown on Uber Eats, and the order wasn’t ready yet even there's no customer waiting, which I don’t mind. I informed the only staff member there, and I was told they would start making it right away. However, there was no sign of preparation, so I asked again after another 10 minutes. I was then told that the ingredients hadn’t been warmed up yet and that they would start cooking now, and I was offered water while waiting. I declined, as I would have preferred the food to be prepared instead. After waiting an additional 5 minutes, the food was finally ready. This is the only Halal Guys location close to my home, so I will likely continue to visit, but probably less frequently. I also don’t think I’ll use Uber Eats at this location again.

Food was perfect, The manager lady i think she might be bald but she was absolutely yelling at her employees very uncomfortable, unprofessional, and un-called for. It was super hot in the lobby area, could not imagine what it’s like back in the kitchen. I think that the manager lady should be transferred to a different store or even let go because that was no way to talk to her employees. I came in yesterday 9/22/25 about midday and all I heard was yelling as soon as I walked into the store

Yuck. No way that I would go again or recommend. Rice was nasty, old and/or not cook properly (hard). The meat was flavorless, dried out, old, cooked, and recooked, and recooked. The lettuce and tomatoes were typical fast food bagged shredded lettuce and flavorless, unripe tomatoes. I just hope that I don’t get sick.

Train these employees to do better and to handle situations like this. Literally not coming to this location anymore due to the lack of effort and professionalism by the recent employees I’ve encountered. Seeing recent reviews as well on this location, seems quite a few people share the same sentiment.

This is the worst place to eat! I do not recommend this place to anyone ! I walked in to get my food for a take out and was in a bit of rush as well, the employee literally walked away in the middle of serving me to go chat with another employees. I literally just waited until they were done talking. They also don’t serve enough for the price you’re paying! A BIG RIPOFF! when I got home my pita bread was hard as a rock! The beef tasted burnt. Never ever will I go there again!
