The place was great! Had a delicious plate of shrimp quesidillas, beans and rice. Not to forget about the Pepsi. This was a more special occasion because it was my grandma's birthday 🎂. I hope to come back here at least one more time.

I ordered the chicken mole and it was delicious. The chicken was cooked nicely and wow the mole sauce was one of the best I'd ever had. The rice and beans were really good as well. The server was great. Definitely recommend

El Jardín in Twain Harte, California, is a great place for yummy Mexican food. This place is good for families and the people are very friendly. They have a big menu with lots of choices. You can find usual things like Tacos, Burritos, and Quesadillas. They also have special dishes like Shrimp Enchiladas and Lemon Chicken Tacos . The food is good and not too expensive. They also have a bar with many drinks, including tasty margaritas. The restaurant is in a beautiful place in Twain Harte. They have seats outside to enjoy the view. The people working at El Jardín are very nice. Even when it's busy, they take good care of everyone. So if you are in Twain Harte, you should visit El Jardín. It's a nice place to eat with your family or friends.

Great family spot! Kids loved it and the booth was great for our large family of 10. Get the flour chips! Definitely a fun stop for a pitcher of margarita too for the adults.

Always have a good time. The servers are friendly and stay on top of your drinks and the chips and salsa. I love that they have both corn and flour chips and more than one salsa option.

We gave them a chance although, we did read the reviews. I had the tortilla soup - Good My wife ate chicken soup - she said it was great! Home made tortilla chips brought to your table. Good selection of draft beers as well. Waiter/waitress were both friendly on our visit. I would visit again and recommend to friends.

Our waitress seemed overwhelmed. She took our order then came back in 5 minutes to take our order...she had forgotten she had already taken it. She also brought us someone else's drink. But we were there the evening of the Christmas Parade & there were a lot of people there. There were a lot of people everywhere in town! The wait to be seated was about 5 minutes. Our food wait time was reasonable. The food was very good. Prices were a bit high. There were some very noisy people at a table on the other side who were annoying, of course that isn't the employees fault.

Friendly staff and decent food. Somewhat pricey overall, but it's the only Mexican Restaurant in Twain Harte. Nice location.

Some of the best servers in the area, great atmosphere, clean and many options on the menu. Lots of Mexican food restaurants in the in TUCO this one actually makes food that's close to original recipes of Mexico. My favorite, Chicken Mole Poblano.

The veggie burrito had no veggies, despite the waiter saying it came with bell peppers and other veggies. It was a plain rice and bean burrito. And they charge extra for guac. Service was good, the atmosphere is very nice. Could be s great place had the food been honest.

The food we received was tasty, and the beers came with a cold glass and a lime slice. The wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, but we also had a large party. They all made it right in the end. I got the Chile Relleno combo with beans and rice, which I thought was pretty good.

Couldn't give 2.5 stars so gave them 3. Horrible customer service. Our waitress just took our order quickly and didn't even ask the basic "what can I get you to drink?" I had to ask for water and....wait for it......she NEVER brought it!!! I had to ask someone else who brought it right away. After taking our order, she came back a few mins later and came back asking us if we ordered nachos?!?!? What lady??? You just took our order!!!! Never once did she come back to check on us. My glass of water was empty. Never got refill. Food was decent.

It appears this place suffers from lack of leadership or expertise, yet charger premium, restaurant-tier prices. The staff is wonderful. We all know that. I've had the burritos and they're a big disappointment. The atmosphere of the resturant is nice too but the food is inauthentic and sort of slapped-together. The price is premium. $15 for a burrito. But the quality is like a gas station in Oklahoma. The flavor and texture are so low. I've had cheaper burritos made with authentic Mexican soul all across California. This place is a disgrace but I go here because they don't have any competition on the mountain. The nearest Mexican place is 15 minutes away in Sonora. I suppose I'll need to go back to making my own burritos.

I took my family to eat here on father's day.Over the past few years it has been hit and miss. Not sure what has changed. The worst experience ever. It started with the tortilla chips that were old and chewy.the young man promptly exchanged them. After a long wait our meal arrived cold to the point that I could not eat the fish tacos I ordered. I brought this to the attention to the person who seems to be in charge. No resolution. We asked for a glass of water which had food matter around the rim. When I pointed this out to the person "in charge" I was told "I don't have time to deal with this with you " I have frequented this restaurant for over 20 years and have never been treated so poorly. Never again!

Do not get a soup to go. There not only not good they put the soup in a soda cup/lid which does not do well with that type of heat. Was a juggling act just to get home. Charge you for pages not telling you till you leave that they only have large. Makes no sense

Your typical white washed Mexican restaurant with very little flavor and authenticity. Something you would expect in Twain Harte. No flavor whatsoever in any of the food. The restaurant itself was grimy and the AC was broken, making it very uncomfortable to sit inside 90 degree weather. They need to start with doing a deep cleaning of their sticky tables. Then, they need to go buy some seasoning to put in their food. Their salsa is too hot to eat and didn't taste good. 1 star, at best, for their flavorless food, sticky tables and no AC, making it very uncomfortable for customers. Taco Bell tastes better than this junk.

The wait staff were extremely friendly and professional. However, when I got my quesadilla I thought that someone was playing a prank on me. A raw tortilla had been barely folded over a substance that I hesitate to even call “cheese”. I was charged $14 for something that included $0.85 of ingredients. I have never been more disappointed and dissatisfied with a restaurant.

Pretty sure I would have enjoyed a TV dinner more. The waitress brought our drink refills to the edge of the table, not to the individual. She reported our order as steak tacos instead of chicken lemon tacos. Another time she gave the drinks to the wrong person. When the food arrived, it was super underwhelming. My sister ordered nachos. There was a small amount of beans UNDER the chips, which the chips were mostly bare except for a bit of melted mozzarella and and guacamole on top. I ordered a salad. A tiny mostly-shredded lettuce salad rested inside a giant fried tortilla shell, which I didn't even touch. The best thing I can say is that the beans were good.

My wife and I have eaten there several times, always noting the poor Customer Service skills by the more tenured waitresses and waiters. This time the food was very poor and the price was $43 for two people. For that price I expect good food and good service but received neither. My wife and I will not go there or any of the El Jardin's again. I have eaten at another El; Jardin in the Sonora area and it was also poor and all there food taste very vinegar like. Will not go to any El Jardin again.

Food took slightly long to get to the table. Everything was below average and had no flavor. One plate of food had three bites taken out of it. Servers didn't ask how our food was. We assume because they know it was bad. We paid and the went across the street to get Chinese. We paid because technically it was edible.

The servers seated someone after us, people they knew, took their order and gave them a bean dip without them ordering. We had just ordered a bean dip before they were seated. When the server finally decided to come back to us we were told there was no more bean dip. They continued to treat the people seated near us very well, while we got subpar service. On top of that they got my order wrong. And the food overall was just not very good. The rice was very hard and old, and the beans were watery. Teenagers were servers who served their friends before anyone else, just not worth it if you’re looking to stop for good food before a long drive home.

This would be 0 stars if possible, except for their service staff. If you're looking for Mexican food, this is not it! I don't understand how they are even in business! Ordered their Chicken Mole Poblano, I've had it at one of their other locations... this one was absolute trash! Then ordered 2 asada tacos because you can't possibly screw those up, wrong! They had absolutely NO seasoning, not even salt! I had my husband try it because I thought that maybe my taste buds were off. Then he offered me some of his food (Tres Favoritos), so I tried his shrimp, which were suppose to be "Rancheros" and tasted like the sauce was basically diluted ketchup with slices of onion. Do not waste your time, money, or calories! Seriously, at that point just go to Taco Bell, which by the way is definitely not referred to as "mexican food" in our home, but is definitely a better option than this place. I will say this, our waitress really tried to be accommodating and even removed both dishes from our tab and only charged us for my husband's food. We asked her not to do that, but she did, so we compensated her instead.

I arrived and the waitress told me to seat myself so I seated myself then I waited for 10 minutes and I finally got up and asked if I could have a menu. One of the waitresses came by and gave me a menu and took my drink order. Then another waitress came by and wanted to know which waitress told me to seat myself which I could not remember. So then I ordered and about 15 minutes later my food came and somehow she had mistaken my enchilada order for tostada order. So I sent that back and waited another 15 or 20 minutes at this point they were closing putting the chairs up on the table so I asked for the order to go. I got the order it took it back to my motel and noticed I didn't get a knife and fork just a fork and a spoon. It was the saltiest enchilada I've ever had in my life. I hardly ate it. I would never go back there again. Oh yeah while I was waiting I needed to use the bathroom and it was closed because they had a flood.

This place is the ABSOLUTE worst. The only reason we ever eat here is if we are desperate. How to they managed to have so many locations is beyond me. It might be location specific.. the servers in Twain Harte are the Rudest people you will ever meet. I sleeved tables for years and was so thankful everyday to have people in our restaurants. Theses people act like the their customers are putting them out. And because of that, they don’t listen and will mess up your order Every time! Don’t go here if you can help it

The service was TERRIBLE. Our waiter got 4 orders wrong. The salsa was runny and the chips were stale. The food is VERY overpriced and did not taste good at all! DEFINITELY don’t recommend. If i could give a 0 stars i would give it to the restaurant. My family is N E V E R going there again!

Went tonight with my family as well as my brother and his family. My sister and law never even received her meal after 45 minutes of reminding the staff. They tried to serve us someone else's food at least 3 times. My wife ordered fajitas and had to ask for tortillas 4 times, at which point her meal was cold/mostly eaten. My meal had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for an extended period of time as the beans and enchilada sauce we're crusted and dry. My only hope is that this is due to some staff turnover following the covid shutdown. Normally this is great food in a great setting in down town Twain Harte.

They used to be better a few years ago, but their portions got smaller and the quality has gotten substantially worse. Take the extra few minutes to drive down the mountain if you're looking for good Mexican food, this place isn't it.

The absolute WORST service experience! I give them 1 star for the fact they offered us a something to drink after having to wait 40 minutes and still hadn't been seated. Then once we were seated. ..we waited almost another 1 hour and our food still hadn't arrived. I have never walked out of a place before, but finally did so. The woman who I believe may have been the owner came over to our table to ask "Do you still want to wait?" She stated they had 2 other orders in front of us. No sincere apologies. She did also ask if we wanted some bean dip. No I don't want bean dip, I want my frickin food. Geez Louise. People...Do not stop in if there are more than a couple of tables because you will be very disappointed. SMH! Unbelievable! !!!
