I love this place, me and my Mom frequently visit. We always order the lunch special, mine is the #1 (4 large shrimp) and a catfish, Moms order the #6, 3 catfish. And the fries are good and hot when they get to me! The sweet tea is so good. We like the prices, $6.50 for lunch, nice. Mom love the tartar sauce, and i love the seasoning on the fries, HA, gonna stay a fav! Thanks for all the deliciousness!!!! See y'all next time!

I went to Jumbo Seafood for the first time and I was blown away with how great the food was. This is a restaurant you can return to several times so you’re able to try different items. Angie our server offered my friends and I the best service and she makes some bomb sweet tea! Be sure to ask for Angie when you visit and try the Po’ Boy Shrimp Sandwich. *chefs kiss*

It's never crowded. Food is always great. My husband loves the ribeye steak, never dry and always tender. The shrimp and catfish is great as well. Haven't tried the gumbo, because there is not one that measures up to mines. The tartar sauce is very good.

The lunch special was great! It was very affordable at $6.50. I got the 4 jumbo shrimp and red snapper which comes with fries and hush puppies. Amazing experience and would definitely come back again the next time I visit Tyler, Texas.

Excellent all the way around. Gumbo was delicious. My catfish was fried to perfection. Staff was very friendly. I've ate at seafood restaurants all over the southern states and I can't say this was the best but for the price I would choose it everyday over the higher priced joints. I will definitely be back to get a quart of that crawfish gumbo.

Is a very charming place with great seafood. While traveling from Dallas we stop to have a quick bite, which turns out to be a very pleasing experience. The food is very good with a fantastic taste. Our waitress was very charming and give us a great experience at this place. For a casual no frills very satisfying fried seafood meal, this is the place!! Service thoughtful, personal, attentive and very friendly. We ate around 5:30 on a Friday. It was quiet and pleasant. Our food was really great!!!! Good slaw and fries. Good fried shrimp and crawfish tails. I am not a fan of tarter sauce, but they had the BEST tartar sauce I have ever had. Very flavorful. Nice touch of local artist work on the walls. We will go back. Not expensive.

Wonderful seafood!!! My combo platter included 6 very large shrimp, a huge crab cake and a perfectly battered and fried catfish plank plus fries. Everything was perfect. Im editing again... i just had dinner at Landrys on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, spent $150.00 on 2 plates, their Samon was disgusting. Sent back twice. Im tellin you guys, give Jumbo Seafood a try. Its that good and over half the price of most places. Its AMAZING!!!!!! i can not brag on them enough. The staff are all very friendly and the food is the best. Its a little hole in the wall located in an area thats not the greatest, but they are ABSOLUTELY A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!!! i try to go there every weekend. I am a healthy eater, meaning i eat healthy. I will go hungry all day so that i can get all my calories in during my visit. I would recommend the grilled salmon with grilled veggies and the grilled catfish with steamed veggies. Its what i get everytime, yes i get both plates, lol. The portions are very large, the price isnt bad at all and the quality is top notch!!! Their food is better than any of the "expensive" places ive been. I could go on forever. I promise that if you give this place a chance you will not regret it and will likely add it to your list of favorite places to go for seafood. And i stronly encourage you to try the 2 plates i mentioned above. My friend that goes with me always trys different things and has loved everything he orders as well. Go see them and try to get tiffany as your waitress, super sweet young lady and very attentive. I hope i got her name right, its the younger waitress with long brown hair. Such a sweet girl. They all are!!!

Nice food with superlative service. To get freshly made coffee at 3:30 PM speaks volumes on customer service. For a "small" town diner, it is worth noting that they do serve larger sized shrimp and fresh red snapper - fried or grilled. Lunch specials are served daily.

Really good!! We were passing through the area and needed dinner. After reading other reviews decided to try Jumbo's and glad we did! My husband and I both ordered the grilled shrimp po boys. Fast and friendly service. Excellent prices and great food! The shrimp was plump and juicy! The bread was soft and fries had good flavor.

We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised by Great service which has been lacking many places that we have been lately. Great price. Food was decent and came out relatively quick. We will be trying it again.

The seafood was great! Stuffed crab was good, and the jumbo shrimp is only slightly smaller than a baby's arm. Our waiter was fantastic, very attentive. Even had 2 sweet teas to go waiting for us when we got ready to go. The 1 star taken off was for the turned tartar sauce put on the table. I poured some on my plate, dipped a jumbo shrimp, and blech!! I never mentioned it to our server, so I'm sure if I had, we'd have received a fresh bottle, but still. Eww. We will keep going back. The seafood and service make up for the out of date tartar sauce.

This was the first time that I have patronized this restaurant. My visit was a spontaneous event that turn out to be a very pleasant experience for my wife and I. We had to wait a few minutes for a booth to become available for use to have lunch. They practice covid-19 safety with masks and only allowing every other table and or booth to be used. There were several other folks there waiting in the lobby area waiting for their phone-in orders that did not hinder the waiting time for the folks that were dining in. I gathered this as it was very easy to hear those dining in placing their orders and witnessed them being served in a very timely manner. The waitress "Dena" was extremely efficient, pleasant, and professional. As well as the hostess, whom followed suite. The delicious food was prepared and presented well that was made all the better by the pleasent waitress which was multitasking the entire floor. The establishment was clean and professional with a reasonably priced menu. I will definitely be patronizing this restaurant in the near future.

This was a nice place to stop in for a meal. Friendly service, good value for the money, and ample portions. The only ding I have would be that the tartar sauce is a bit runny for our taste and the cornbread coating on the fish is a bit sparse and overdone, although the fish itself was very good. Other than that, the food was good. Definitely somewhere to stop in for a good meal of you're in the area.

Our trip here was very satisfactory at the time. We were greeted immediately, given preferential seating. Our waitress was great. Very polite & sweet. Our dinner was great. Everything tasted awesome, and portion sizes were really good too. I just wish they had fried pickles on the menu, but that's okay. I would've given them a 5 Star Rating, had my husband & I gotten sick the next morning. Now it wasn't major, but we knew it was from the food. Probably because we don't eat a lot of fried food. So if you are a normally healthy eater, keep some tums or pepto handy just in case the oil doesn't agree with you. All in all, great visit, tasty food, great service. :)

Good place for fried seafood. Today, I had the entree combo. Which consist of 6 jumbo shrimp, a piece of catfish, one stuff crab, and fries. And these shrimp were truely jumbo, and tasted delicious. The catfish was thick and juicy. The crab was only ok. It was like dressing inside of a crab. But for $14.99 in 2026, and I got all that. I will definitely come back when I am in town. Service was exellent. Just as you would expect from east Texan.

Good prompt service. $6.50 for lunches. As you can see in the photos, small portions of "ok" frozen deep fried crab cake and small oysters. Salad was good, a $1 up charge at lunch. From some of the other posts, looks like larger portions on regular menu items.

Everything was good except for the fake bacon bits on the baked potato. Seems like they have a lazy chef or a cheapskate owner or both. Why can't they be bothered to cook real bacon. Seems kinda lazy and stupid to me. I won't be coming back here again. The waitress was nice so at least there's that.

I politely angst the waiter if they had catfish on the menu, she told me, yes, it was USDA catfish turned out she lied to my face. Why not just be honest when you know you are a serving swai for catfish? The cashier told me upon check out that the fish is always swai. Ill find a truthful restaurant next time.

The food remained unchanged but the service has declined since I was there last. It took about an hour to get our food during lunch. Had I been working and trying to eat here during my lunch break, I would definitely been late returning to work. Luckily, I was not working today. The waitress we had could rarely be found and she only checked on our table twice during the hour that we were waiting on our entrées. Both waitresses tended to drift out the front door several times to smoke cigarettes. Need I say how disgusting it is for customers to have to walk through their cloud of cigarette smoke just to get into the restaurant? Once our food finally did arrive, it was good just like I remembered it. I just expected to the service and the attitudes of the wait staff to be like it was several years ago when I visited regularly prior to my relocating to another city. All things change though....and sometimes, not for the best...

Came for lunch. Ordered grilled catfish with rice and steamed vegetables. The fish was grilled. It was unseasoned and plated by itself. The rice came in a little bowl and the vegetables came in a little bowl. It tasted okay when I added some lemon juice and dipped the fish in some tartar sauce. I poured the rice on the plate so I could more easily eat a bite with the fish. I think if a little bit of seasoning had been added and it had been plated differently it would have been more appetizing. The server was pleasant. The food did fill me up and was not heavy.

This restaurant was sitting on the corner of one of the busiest highways in the community. The atmosphere was pretty quiet and the seater was nice. The building is old but kept up very well and is clean. I'm glad we didn't get the appetizer or dessert. I had the catfish and my daughter had fish and shrimp. I had high hopes due to the reviews online. The service was slow. I never got a refill during the entire meal. The waitress was nowhere to be found until I was finished. The seafood gumbo consists of bland precooked shrimp and catfish that had the consistency of tapioca pudding. The grilled seafood with red snapper, shrimp, and scallops was also just bland. Overcooked red snapper. Scallops that had an odd consistency. The shrimp was done well cooking wise but the whole plate was just bland. The steamed vegetable came out cold. And the grilled veggies were the only item that were seasoned but were delicious. The sweet tea was delicious on a plus as well. Now for the kicker. Before my meal came, and elderly gentleman was seated 10 minutes after me. He received his gumbo long before I got mine but the waitress delivered some cold shrimp bowl to me which left me confused, first thought was maybe I had ordered the wrong thing as I was pointing at the menu whole ordering. I stirred through it to verify what it was and knew it wasn't mine so when the waitress finally came to me with my meal she took that shrimp cocktail of my table then gave it to the elderly gentleman across the dining area. My experience in food handing is that he gets a new cocktail instead of the one that had been stirred through and delivered to the wrong table.

I have never really liked this place My chick likes their shrimp. This is more of a community restaurant low budget I don't have no where else to go restaurant. They have ribeye steaks ( my opinion) that look like they have been sliced long ways down the middle to get two out of it, thin steaks. The so called catfish are catfish strips no fillets . Let me start with the staff. They are the best thing about this place. Two women apparently running EVERYTHING, but smiling through it all. The atmosphere is dark and bland. I got a fried seafood platter; my partner got a grilled platter. He got the better deal. My stuffed crab was a shell-full of tasteless mush. The snapper fillet was fried to a toughness akin to jerky. The shrimp were cooked well, but devoid of flavor. The grilled items were much better, but still lacked any seasoning except salt. The only dessert option is cheesecake.

No atmosphere. The food was subpar. Baked potato came out still on the hard side and the cheese hadn't melted on it, the bacon came out of a jar you get at grocery store, broccoli wasn't done, still hard, should have served with dip. The shrimp was ok. I will not go there again. Oh yeah they had a TV going with the news on.

We finally got up and left BUT not before I voiced my opinion about the sorry unacceptable service we received. They had the audacity to say it was because we ordered grill fish. I guess they had to go catch the fish first! Really...."NO" the problem with this was three other tables got their food AND they came in after we did 👀 NOT happy at all!!!! I should have listen to my husband and left after the other people got their food before us. And to add insult to injury you had the nerve to say our waitress was working a large table on the other side. I guess that was suppose to suffice for their mess up. That waitress who was suppose to be taking care of us never once apologize and had the nerve to have an attitude. She acted like it wasn't a big deal. I asked to speak to the manager well the manager was too busy cooking to come talk to me. I would rate the service today there on a scale from 1-10 a (1) and 1 being the WORST! Not to mention we go there a lot because the food has always been good.

Came in, the hostess appeared disengaged. She placed us over by tables that was not cleaned off. The one waiter was playing behind the counter dropping the trays. No smell of seafood cooking. We waited for about 10 minutes and no one came over to take drink order, so we left. Be mindful who you leave in charge of your business.

Food was very disappointing. I ordered a 3 piece catfish, which turned out to be swai instead. I guess if you like swai then it’ll probably be good. Fish was bland and had absolutely no seasoning.
