Taqueria Jalos

A local recommendation to try the quesa birria tacos did not disappoint! Fast service, great food, good pricing. I’d trust anything on this menu to be delicious.

Excellent service & real good food. My only complaint is the food did take a bit longer than expected when the restaurant was practically empty. I believe what we ordered is called the Jalos Burrito (Al Pastor, half green and half red sauce). The salsas are decent but I was not really impressed. Plenty of parking onsite and conveniently located. Oh and the servers are really friendly

The experience was asking for No cheese on a super burrito and getting huge chunks of cheese which was awful, so I called and said can I bring my burrito back and the Lady was acting rude but i brought it back and got one without cheese. One day about a year ago I called an order in and the woman was so rude and acted like they had never had Jimica ( hibiscus) that i just cancelled my order. I wanted to say that i recently went back and everything was like it was before, Really nice ladies, really good food. i recommend the crunchy tacos they are the best, the Hibiscus Drink is one of the best in town. My son loves their burritos, the salsa and chips are really good. There is a food Truck in Front after hours, and it’s really good, i had super nachos and the two Gentlemen were very nice and efficient not much of a wait. im not sure of the hours for food Truck.

Great food but way to expensive now. They seem to raise the prices weekly. And the have a 4% CC fee. We went there twice a week For years. probably won't be back

Food and service was amazing however being assigned tables tather than choosing was a bit disappointing cuz half of them are super tall stool tables. Overall food was worth it but it would have been nice to be asked if i wanted another beverage rather than having to get up and request one myself.

Loved my first visit here. The service was great and the food was amazing, not many places in town will give you a well stacked street taco but this place came through with a delicious entree. The rice and beans were well seasoned and the tamales are excellent. By far my new favorite Mexican restaurant in town now.

I have had a very positive experience with Taqueria Jalos! I've been coming here for the past 5 years, and I have often brought friends here as well and they think the same. Very good portion sizes for very cheap prices. The only reason I would not rate Jalos 5 stars is because the last few times I have ordered take out my chicken tacos have been switched with carnitas. A very big difference in terms of meat, but not a big deal for me, the great customer service and amazing food outside of these instances more than make up for this blunder.

Food was great! I am from San Diego. We are picky about our Mexican food. This place isn’t big on looks but the flavor of the food is superb. If you are looking for a classic taco shop come here. I ordered the chicken flautas. My boyfriend had a burrito with shrimp and carne asada. If you are looking for big pieces of shrimp get a plate. They dice it up into small pieces. My flautas were delicious.

So my first visit here, everything was cooked to perfection. Keep in mind this was a weekday. I had ordered the chimichanga with the carne asada. The shell was fried to perfection and they did not forget the extra Pico de Gallo I had asked for. The second time was a Saturday and it was a bit busier so I'll give them that but they only put 5 chips in the bag they forgot the extra condiments I asked for and the chimichanga was not cooked thoroughly.

Staff are very friendly. Outdoor dining is nice for a taqueria. We had veggie burritos. Just a heads up for vegetarians or vegans, they do put lard in their refried beans and dairy in their guacamole (bummer) but they offer sliced fresh avocado instead. Server said they do not put chicken stock in their rice...hope that's accurate. Otherwise it's nice, indoors could use some new touches, sort of dated.

Service was okay but after we got our food, it was the last we saw of our waitress. Rice and beans were barely warm. Had to wait in line to pay the bill. Would not go again.

We did take out at Jalos regularly (at least once or twice per month) for the last 7 years. I just call and tell them it's Roy, and the waitress knows my name since I am there regularly. This last time I went, they charged me $7 for a side of rice and $7 for a side of beans. It used to be $2 pre-pandemic, then $3 during pandemic and then $4 post pandemic. $7 is outrageous. I asked why the price so high this time. The front lady told me that the amount of rice and beans were a lot that could serve 4 people (4 preschoolers, maybe), and the owner made adjustments to the price. I think it is my turn to make adjustments, too. Other Mexican restaurants will take my regular business with an open arms. If you are the owner, I hope you read my comment and re-adjust your price.

I went and dine in, my husband, my daughter and my 3yr son. One had 5 tacos, daughter had 3 and husband had Bistek Ranchero, my son one taco with side of rice. 2 micheladas and one pineapple water. Total $98 how in the world??? Rice was very garlicky and tortillas were hand made but from a day before. Not going again extremely expensive. The waiter wasn’t presentable had hickeys all over her neck, nails extremely long they would almost go inside our plates. This place has changed a lot to bad.

Really great food for the area, but slow service every time we've stopped by. This last time will be probably be our last visit unfortunately. The service there just isn't very good. We sat down, and watch the young lady on staff literally go help 3 other parties who sat after us first. Which happened to be much larger than our party. I get people need their tips, but frankly it was pretty rude.

Will never return due to service. The cashier was so rude and should have offered her service at the appropriate time. Not when I was done and paying for a meal that I didn't eat..

I just ordered 3 crispy Steak and 3 crispy chicken tacos and a large pineapple drink. I was charged 40.00$ 😑 And the food had no flavor and covered in sour cream. My entire taco had more sourcream n sauce than protein. I will not be back.

I ordered a super burrito with no lettuce and I basically got a rice burrito with a teaspoon of meat and some beans in it. It was the saddest burrito ever! There was only one other table in the restaurant besides ours, 2 servers and we had to wait 20 minutes for our tag and a box. Lame service and food!!

My organization ordered a taco truck to provide food for a special event on May 5th. We had 300+ people to provide food for during this event, and only received notice about an hour before the event began that the taco truck Jalos was to provide had mechanical difficulties. Jalos delivered about 50 burritos and trays of rice and beans for the event. When we called and asked for them to provide more food, they stated they were on their way to our location with more food. 20 minutes later we called again, and we were told they were "on their way." About another 30-40 minutes later, we drove to Jalos to pick up said food, and were told "we don't have anything, but we can have something ready for you in 5-10 minutes." The person we talked to then went to the back and never returned; no one from the kitchen came out to address us or to rectify the situation. After about 5-7 minutes later we notified the cashier to let the kitchen know we are leaving, so to stop making food. About 2 hours later, Jalos employees showed up to our workplace "upset" and demanded payment for all the food (the 50 burritos they provided in the beginning of the event as well as the food they supposedly made and we didn't use). I would love to rate the quality of their food as I have been told it was superb, however the food never made it's way to our event so I never got to try it. The customer service provided was absolutely horrible. We understand "Life Happens!" and we're not even upset about the taco truck not working; we also understand there's not much you can do when a bunch of your employees call in sick and you're short staffed. However the way the situation was handled by Jalos was unacceptable and I refuse to support a business that operates so unprofessionally.

I really do not like to be the one that complains. However, my girlfriend and I stopped in this evening for dinner and soon after we seated ourselves things started to decline. Chips were stale, cheese dip was about 70% solid and 30% "dippable". Then came our entrees, both of us simultaneously took one bite of our food and decided to leave. On top of that the service was rushed during all customer contacts and served no ice with our beverages. Sorry to say this but never again and definitely no recommendations.

Burrito has more rice than anything. Not much veggies or meat. And to top it off, all our food had a crazy amount of oil dripping from the bottom. Used to think it was the best in town but ive been disappointed with the food quality lately.

They offered to make me a new one,but unfortunately I had no more lunch time. I'll never set foot back in there. I hope everyine has a better experience than I.
