Great pho broth, generous with meat, Jasmine tea is very fragrant, thit nuong was super flavourful!
First time eating here and won't be the last. Had the Bun Tom w vermicelli noodles and shrimp. A healthy portion size. The flavor was amazing. Love all the crunchy cucumber it had. Also ordered some spring rolls which were good as well. The peanut sauce was on point.
A great, phenomenal Pho restaurant. It is pretty cheap for what you get, but the soup is excellent. You have to get the raw brisket, it comes out delicious and tender. I always try to go here when I'm in the area. Just keep in mind that it is a cash only place.
This is my favorite pho restaurant in the east bay! Great service, great food. I love the broth. always Vietnamese customers in here also. We are not local so we always stop by when we are in town.
This place is a solid 5 stars for the combo of amazing service and quality of their dishes. I've been waiting for a great Vietnamese spot in the Union City area, and here it is! More like here it's been! My family and friends have been coming here for years now. The food is always delicious. The noodles are always fresh, even in the vermicelli bowl they're still slightly warm from just being cooked. All of the rolls are fresh and the ingredients are perfectly paired. Two spring rolls are enough to fill you for lunch. With your pho bowls, they'll give you ample fixings and there's never any hesitation when you ask for substitutions or extras. The booths are new and the restrooms are spotless. The family who runs this place is such a gem! You can tell by how they address regulars and how kind they are at all times. I don't think I've ever seen anyone in a bad mood. At this point, I've had everything on their menu and you just can't go wrong. Favorites: - Spring rolls - Spicy beef noodles - BBQ beef & shrimp vermicelli plate - Beef noodle soup #1 - Grilled pork & egg rolls over vermicelli - Fried shrimp cake ..... honestly, I could probably keep naming more - it's all good here! I can't wait for those chilly winter nights and a warm bowl of pho from Pho VN.
I frequent this place often. It's very clean and organized. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I love the rice plate combos and the Pho. Never have I had a bad experience. In fact, I'll be eating there again this evening, 01.03.19.
Very clean organized place. Stuff was warm and courteous. Food was exceptional and authentic. Things to note is it is a cash only place, and medium vs large pho portions are only few more cents $10.95 so go for the large. Thai tea was ok, not the best. Will be going back here for more.
the food in this unassuming restaurant is constantly delicious. I had vermicelli with grilled pork and spring rolls. best grilled pork ever and that is my usual dish at VN restaurants. All of the components of the dish were spot on and they serve a huge portion.
Food and service was amazing. Very delicious foods and highly recommend to anyone looking for vietnamese food in the area!
Wonderful pho restaurant. Every dish that we've had has been made quickly and well, and the establishment is very well decorated and clean. We have gone 5 or so times so far and we will keep coming back. The chicken wings are especially amazing, but everything is good.
Best Pho joint in Tricity!! Very authentic broth. Generous meats and portions. Family run small business. Delicious food, attentive service and family friendly atmosphere.
Great pho, some of the best rice noodles we've ever had. Accommodating for kids, allowing us to split a bowl and helping us with scissors and extra ice. Our favorite local Pho spot.
Place is great for your Vietnamese food fix. I love going here on cold/rainy days or after a night of drinking or getting over a cold. Eating pho is definitely a remedy to anything. This place has been my go to ever since it opened, I used to go across the street to Pho Pasteur before but have not been there since discovering Pho VN. There is almost never a wait, the place is cleanly, and the food is always piping hot! Just remember that it is CASH ONLY! My favorite thing to eat here is definitely the pho or the bun bo hue but anything else on the menu is all pretty solid as well. A side note the portion size of the pho is generous, I almost always get a large at any other pho restaurant but always get a regular here.
I cannot claim Pho expertise, but I've been to a reasonably large number of Pho restaurants and Pho VN has some of the freshest-tasting and most delicious broth I've tried. Everything else I've tried here is also good, but for Pho the broth is what usually makes or breaks it in my book.
This place is truly a hidden gem . The Pho here is 🔥🔥 . The customer service is awesome! I've never had a single issue here . Everything always on point. It's cash only but they have an ATM machine.
Love the Pho here. It's my wife's favorite spot. No kids bowl size, but as with every other spot I've been, they will give you an extra bowl for the little ones. The restaurant is clean and well kept. Have booths and tables capable of taking on parties of varying sizes. Cash Only.
I am writing this as I am having their BBH here. The noodle is decent and I love how they serve their noodles in a deeper dish bowl comparing to other Vietnamese restaurant. Overall the food is decent. I do hope their soup can be served slightly hotter.
Great place for some authentic pho. We visited family here and tried at this restaurant and had a great time here. The pho was great. Very tasty and they gave so much food at this restaurant. Compare to the places in San Jose, this place has almost 1/3 more food for the same price. Our family of 6 couldn’t finish all the 4 bowls of food we ordered. We were here on Saturday lunch and had to wait for a table to be cleaned so had to wait for a few minutes. Guests don’t have to wait for long before seating. Food comes out pretty quickly once you ordered. Right next door, they have the starbread which is also a must have as well once you’re done. It’s kind of like butter bread sticks that’s slightly sweet. Really good.
We have found a new pho Gem on the East Bay! We’ve known about this place for awhile, but never had the chance to come try it out. We had no idea what we were missing and they are close to home. When you come in, you are immediately greeting by your server and shown to your table. The tables are clean and the menus in a nice nook with thick pages that are clean and not sticky. They have a nice selection of pho as well as noodles and vermicelli dishes. They also had a nice extensive drink menu. Our food came quickly and I live that they have sauces out on the table, clean and labeled. I had my typical rare steak and egg rolls. I would have preferred they use the old school rice paper for egg rolls but it’s hard to find those. The egg rolls were fresh and had a good taste to them, well balanced. The pho broth was also great, I didn’t have to add any extra sauce, or fixings to get the taste to my liking. I can’t wait to go back. They don’t get a perfect score because they only take cash. Come hungry, but bring cash! We will be back soon!!!
Yes yes and more yes! Best pho in the bay! Actually the world! If you haven’t been here you better try it at least once. I have taken Vietnamese friends and they approved! This restaurant is so comfortable because the stuff they are very friendly. When the staff gets to know you they know exactly what you want to order it’s great being a regular. We love meeting friends and family here anyone that visits we always take them. I am so happy that they opened up again it was way too long due to Covid and I was very worried about their family but they were all safe because they were one of the smarter businesses in the area and closed down during quarantine.
Came here for a quick lunch as expected the service was quick. I ordered one of their soups. It was really good. Dont expect spicy soup but have a mix on the side to add if u need spicy but I won’t recommend.
Easy experience! Been here for a few times and that their menus are simple. The picture is #1 on their menu, Beef Noodle Pho, that has lots of the option added (meat-wise) and it's delicious! I love the environment, it's clean and lively. The food is presented nicely and lots of portions given!

I’ve been going here for so long it’s the only place I will go to for pho. I really like their pho but to me the best dish there is their grilled pork over rice. It’s usually 50-70 for 2 I don’t about having more than 2 so sorry but it’s worth the price. This is the best pho place in the bay.
What an outstanding Vietnamese restaurant! The service here is top-notch - the servers are knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. The food was nothing short of fantastic; the banh mi sandwich I had was a flavor explosion, and the coffee was a delightful end to the meal. The cozy and authentic ambiance added to the overall experience. I'll be back for more!
Their vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and egg rolls is pretty damn good - I'd say the best one I've found so far! The grilled pork has a nice char and very flavorful and tender! Only problem is for the price of nearly $18 dollars it is not filling. I'd expect to be full paying nearly 20 bucks for a meal. The other problem is that they are cash only so minus 1 star! And no I don't want to use their ATM machine. UPDATE 2/2/24 Ordered the same vermicelli bowl #46 (as mentioned in my original post) twice in the past couple of weeks and they've definitely increased the amount of vermicelli noodles and grilled pork! It's definitely filling now and worth the near $20 bucks (including tax). They deserve another star.. so now I'm giving them 5 stars!
Everything was amazing, the vermicelli pork, the egg rolls, the steak and brisket pho! The large pho was more than enough for 3 people plus the two other plates, it was too much but happy to be able to enjoy tomorrow! Will definitely be coming back!
As someone who's Vietnamese, I am grateful for Pho VN. It's rather difficult finding a good Pho restaurant in the Bay Area, 90% of the authentic and amazingly delicious Pho restaurants are found in the South Bay, mainly around San Jose. Then we have the "gem" that is Pho VN, their quality outmatches a majority of their counterparts in San Jose. Their consistency and dedication to providing their best bowl of Pho is truly outstanding. I have introduced countless of people to this location and many have named this place their favorite. The staff are kind and attentive, honestly making the restaurant feel homely. They always go above and beyond making sure the food and the experience is the best for everyone that comes through. The food always comes out piping hot and fresh. The Pho noodles and broth is cooked to perfection every time. Their rice plates are also very delicious, the protein are juicy and tender, the fish sauce provided isn't overly potent either. A great balanced dish. It is however, a cash only restaurant. Having a decent amount of cash is always recommended. Although, if not they do provide a ATM on site for anyone to use. Overall, a great Pho restaurant in the East Bay Area. Would definitely recommend this location anyone looking for a high quality hot bowl of Pho.

Cash only here. Good food, soups always come out piping hot. The service could always be better. They def don't walk around and check if you need anything, you have to call out for them, wave your arms to catch their attention. But the good food makes up for that....sometimes.
Had the combo special pho for both beef and chicken soup bases. They say this is the best pho in the bay but I think it's overrated. Pretty flavorful, sure, but nothing mindblowingly extraordinary to justify the price. Fresh shrimps rolls were also ok.
Cash only; don't order lemonade... you get 80% ice. If you day anything about it, they reply that's the way it should be. It's ridiculous. Food is great.
Cash Only Had the BBH and spring rolls. Spring rolls came out in under 3 min, looks to be pre-made, but also house-made. Plating is nice and includes the peanut sauce. Rolls were good, tasted fresh and had bite. BBH looked legit. Had it in a large, very good serving of meat and noodle. One thing to note is that the broth is VERY oily. Dip your soup spoon in and watch the fat stick to it after you take it out. Overall, not bad, will come back to try their pho.
Great variety in menu. Food served quick. Needed to remind staff repeatedly about drunk orders. Cash only business.
Delicious food, fast service, and fair prices. My only complaints are as follows: 1) Who is cash only these days, honestly? So many easy ways to accommodate cards. 2) Why, in the name of all that is logical, is WEDNESDAY the day you decide to be closed on?
This location was Hard to find at 1st, when we put it on the GPS, ut had us go towards the back of the center. But thats not why this received a 4 star. Its a quaint and CLEAN place vs others we've seen. The restrooms were clean the environment was tandem simple. As usual when entering a pho café its always seat yourself, not a problem there. Recieved our menus and wanted to wash our hands before making a decision, as we always do. The order taker came quick and when I said give us a couple min to him it meant 10 min. Now, again pho place aren't supposed to be a 5 star restaurant as its natural setting is supposed to be laid back and at most, inviting, & clean. This place met all of that. The place was half full with individuals enjoying their meals around as you can tell alot of chatting and smiles around easily. We didnt know their size portions so we ordered 1 large for myself and 2 mediums, 1 for the wifey and 1 the kids splits. When the toppings arrived there was a bundlesome of bean sprouts galore (loved it +) then the bowls arrived somewhat reaching the size it simply advertises. Large bowl was fairly large as the medium was 1/4 shorter in height vs the large. After adding the sriracha, hoison, and dropping the usual lemons inside, I was ready to go. The taste was good, but the broth seemed a little light and not bold in flavors. It was fully balanced with meat to noodles. Although not bad, it still needed room for improvement. Now if there is any reviewers stating that the service was bland, then they should NEVER go to a pho Cafe. Pho places aren't a 5 star restaurant, nor is it meant to be. Its a casual place with you being served 1x and thats it, if you want more things you call for it. But, generally theres always 1 donk or 2 that expects more from a pho cafe. Although I think the price is overpriced nearly $20 for a Large bowl, and the taste was sublime. So if you're planning on visiting this place be sure to have CASH OR ZELLE. Otherwise an ATM is needed. So come visit try it out, it is worth a 1 x try. But if you feel the cost is too high, im confident there are others with bolder taste and lower prices that may suit your needs.
My experience is based on about 10 take-outs so far. It’s the best tasting Pho around 31 and Union City area for me. I have tried five other pho place and this is the best. The only issue I have is they only take cash. Otherwise, it would be five star for the service. Otherwise, the restaurant is a standard just like any other Vietnamese Pho place. Reasonably clean.
Pros: House special pho was tasty. Service is good. Plenty of parking. Cons: CASH ONLY. Can’t substitute noodles for veggies, which is a mist for me due to health reasons
Clear broth, pho was really good. Tip: They only take cash. There's an atm inside the restaurant.

Our go to place for pho because it's always consistent with her pho. Service is decent and pho comes out quick but they always forget that we ask for extra cilantro. Not that big of a deal as we just ask again and they provide it asap to us. Inside is decently sized and accommodated to eat. Cash only here so make sure to bring cash.
What we love about this place is that they open early. If you are craving for pho bright and early they open at 9 AM. Seafood soup had a lot of flavor and meat. The pork chop rice plate was really good. Pork chop was juicy and yummy. I loved the soup on the rice. Smoothies were creamy and not watered down.

It seems like the quality and quantity of the pho here has gone downhill over the years. I remember when it first opened, the pho was so delicious and affordable for less than $10. Given inflation, yes everything has gone up, but a bowl of large pho here comes close to $20, and the portion is about similar size of a regular. I got the rare steak and beef ball, I was so shocked to see I only got 1 beef ball cut up into 4 tiny pieces. At least provide another beef ball? The rare steak portion was decent though. The broth tasted a bit more bland and not as flavorful as it used to be. Eventually it tasted watered down as I continued eating. I would not mind paying the higher price, but if the quality has gone down, I don't think I'd frequent this place anymore. The first year this place opened I remember dining in at this restaurant and ordered a large beef ball pho, and there were at least 12 pieces of beef balls in my pho. Long gone are the generous portions and quality. I hope my experience was a one-off and it's still just as good as we remember it.
The pork chop rice platter I got was hella good. One problem, I had to wait 15 min for it. Vietnamese food is usually really quick. The staff didn't check,or find it strange that only one of us was eating. One of the waiter's was on his lunch break and the other was on his phone not even getting off of it to take another customer's payment. The food was bomb. I liked the pho broth a lot and there was lots of meat. The spring rolls were also very tasty. So Pho VN... Good food, but step your customer awareness game up breh.
Cash only! The food is alright, and is honestly quite pricey for casual Vietnamese food. Expect to pay $10+ for each dish, pre-tax/tip. Fast service and nice, open ambience.
Cash only, they compensate by having a ATM in the restaurant or payment through zelle/venmo. Big portions, but room temperature pho broth. Broth isn't flavorful but tender enough flank cuts. Virtually no service as most of wait staff are sitting about. Mediocre at best.
Phở has gotten worse. And one of the waiters was unfriendly and the service is mediocre. Used to be good.

They do not accept credit card which is very inconvenient.
I use to love going here, but the last 2 times I visited I decided I will never go here again, the guy at the front had the worst attitude as if he hated me( no I am not joking, he mugged me the whole time) I tried ordering and when it came time for my drink he said they didn’t sell it when I seen it in the fridge next to him, I pointed that out and he looked at me in disgust ,he also gave me the worst attitude I ever experienced at a place similar to this. I decided to give it one more try with my brother and the waiter kept telling me to get all the cheap stuff in a very rude way as if I didn’t have money. When I finally got my pho the meat had nothing but fat in it and cartilage, I didn’t order that at all, I had plate next to me full of it and yes I asked for an extra plate just to put all the fat in it. I had maybe 10% meat and the rest fat and cartilage. I’m sure they did that on purpose and I was polite. I will never go there again, I hope those who go do not get the same experience I had. I live down the street which is even more sad, I drive to Fremont since the other place I like has so much better service. Also since I am Latino they might not like me and stare pretty hard as soon as I walk in. I would rate it a zero star if I could. Good luck people.
First time I ordered to-go, they waiter told me they took cash only. That’s ok! But he looks very unhappy. I ordered again later in few months, the same service guy was there with impolite attitude and didn’t told me which was my order, so I picked the wrong one, he yelled, “wait wait, what is going on! “ it was he responsibility to tell clients the right item, but acting so rude to client. Won’t order again. Besides, lots of MSG of the food.
Never going there again. They kept riding us, not willing to pack our food it was getting close to 8 pm.
The food at this pho restaurant is good, but the customer service is seriously lacking. We asked for separate checks, and the man working there refused to accommodate us. Instead of helping or offering a solution, he was rude and dismissive. It’s frustrating when employees make you feel like a burden for a simple request. Good food isn’t enough to make up for the unprofessional and unfriendly service. I won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend it unless the staff improves their attitude.
