We stayed at the Hotel Talisa and the concierge there, Christina, recommended we came here for their breakfast buffet. Even though it is slow season ( the end of the ski season as it is Mid April) the Sonnenalp hotel keeps their breakfast buffet operating even during weekdays and until 11am. It is a gorgeous hotel with a pretty restaurant and an amazing buffet. Lots of options from the hearty to the healthy and fit. Beautiful presentation of the buffet with well made dishes with lots of flavor. Service is attentive and welcoming (not stuck up like in many fine dining restaurants). The stoneware dishes are pretty and go well with the decor and style of the hotel and restaurant. They have the name of the hotel imprinted on them. I was lucky enough to be seated on their sunroom, lots of natural light and a nice view of the hotel around. Great recommendation!!!

I went with the eggs benedict and added salmon. It was delicious, it was a bit salty but that's more of a personal preference. I'm usually someone that has leftovers but I clean my plate this time. The coffee was also good. We had great service and was able to sit outside to enjoy some great weather. I would definitely recommend.

Breakfast was good, service was better. Don’t get me wrong the food was excellent but our waitress was just wonderful. French toast was very good, husband got the omelette and thought it was great. Girls got the chocolate chip pancakes and loved them. Sat on the enclosed terrace on a snowy day and it was beautiful. Highly recommend.

That’s a delicious breakfast! A plethora of options to sample, great service and delicious beverages! I can see why it’s the best breakfast in Vail!

Everything was perfect. Food, service, social distancing, everything! It’s on the pricey side for breakfast but a treat if you can swing it.

This place is worth a visit for the gorgeous glass sunroom atmosphere and friendly service. Like any buffet, you need to be a little selective (I had a dried-up eggs benedict with overdone egg), but overall, the food was good. Coffee is excellent. The selection of pastries and toppings for belgian waffles was extensive. My son and husband liked the chorizo empanadas.

Amazing. Period. From the food to our service, everything about my group’s dining experience was amazing. Not to mention the restaurant’s atmosphere and ambiance is stellar. I ordered the “Elk Duo” which came recommended. The chef recommended it rare, and I just so happen to like my meats cooked that way anyhow. It was DELICIOUS! Seriously. I had to fight away half the table from eating my sausage. If you’re in Vail, I would highly recommend you make a reservation at Ludwig’s. This restaurant will most definitely be a go to next time I’m there.

This has to be one of the cutest spots I have been for brunch and I mean it whole heartedly . Its an Old World-meets-mountain-modern décor: Bavarian-style carved-wood ceilings, paintings by Austrian and German artists, and sunlight flooding in from a glass atrium. The view from the sun room was gorgeous with the snowcapped trees and the food and service complimented the ambience This place is inside a restaurant so might take a little bit to find a good parking spot but we were fortunate that it was a Sunday and we were able to park out front an establishment that was closed . Diners are greeted with picture-perfect baked goods, fresh fruits, exotic-looking cheeses and meats, and rows of scrumptious pastries .There’s even a whole honeycomb dripping fresh honey into a lovely porcelain dish. Yes, there’s an à la carte menu, but the whole point of dining here is to graze from the sumptuous European-style buffet, a cornucopia of eggs, waffles, blintzes, sausages, cured meats, cheeses, berries, yogurts, breads, preserves, and pastries . Beverages are ordered as per your choice and might cost extra depending on what you ordered . There is a separate Egg counter where you can get the eggs made as per your preference. Service was excellent to say the least and our server took really good care of us without being over bearing . She just magically appeared every time someone wanted to order something. So the pricing is on the higher side and everything including juices etc are additional cost. They also added a service charge which I am not sure was for what however we all paid an additional gratuity individually on top of it. Overall , its pricey but I would definitely recommend them for the amazing experience .

Delicious! My partner Kyle and I were hungry for a big breakfast today and stopped into Ludwig's. Their breakfast buffet was superb. $42/person for all items: Examples being waffles, pancakes, fresh smoothies, acai bowls, bagels, omelette station, yogurts, oatmeal, fine cheeses, benny's, donuts, you name it and included coffees and teas. Totally worth it. The waiters are from all over the globe and were so kind and attentive. Highly recommend!

Best breakfast I’ve ever had. But the service was truly exhausting and overly attentive. My party of 4 was constantly rudely interrupted and she felt the need to narrate every move she was making at our table, including telling us every time she filled our water. It was weird. Either way, I’ll be back.

Came here for breakfast during a solo trip. The entire staff were really friendly and accommodating. The ambience/atmosphere was great to experience as well.

Enjoyed the brunch buffet with family this past weekend. It was absolutely delicious. It is in competition with the buffet at Broadmoor in CO Springs. They had soooo many options and the food was fresh and felt healthy??? This is not country buffet. Not sure of price because my grandparents paid, but I think whatever it was it was worth it.

We had a lovely brunch here. We sat in the “atrium” glass room, which offered a beautiful view on a snowy day.

Wonderful Mother's Day brunch in an elegant yet rustic environment. Over overlooking the pool with dining in the sunroom. Food was abundant and high-quality. Not over salted or over done. A true traditional European culinary style. Waiters and waitresses dressed elegantly in Bavarian attire. Lots of space to spread out while you're waiting for a table. Charming bar.

Very good breakfast buffet. I would definitely do the full European breakfast. They had a large selection of items including Bavarian pretzels, fruit, pancakes, and made to order eggs. The pastries were delicious and provided a nice way to end breakfast

Food is ok but staffs and services are the best. It's joyful to walk around the hotel and see the history & unique atmosphere.

Lovely atmosphere, great location, and WONDERFUL server (shout out to Smara!) — breakfast was delicious, but we went hoping to order off the a la carte menu. We ended up doing the buffet, but it was very pricey for breakfast items.

Everything tasted fresh, like it was good quality, and it was well prepared...but I don't know that Eggs Benedict is really worth $40. I did not try the buffet (because I was not that hungry), but it looked like a nice setup. If I was with a group I would come early, enjoy a leisurely breakfast/brunch, and splurge on the (kind of) pricey buffet! Oh - 3 stars for atmosphere because it looked a little dated (for people that care about that thing - although I don't).

Food was amazing which makes the poor service very disappointing. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted with water and then was asked what our order was without offering drinks. Ordered our meals and salads along with the drinks. Waited another 15 minutes for our drinks that were basically delivered with our salads. Told them it was my birthday and all the waitress said was happy birthday until another family member requested a dessert for me. They need better staff if they want their food to be showcased as excellent.

Went for the Thanksgiving buffet and we were left fairly disappointed. The food was quite good but the service was not at all. For $120.00 per person, we did expect a higher quality service. There were multiple mistakes with drinks and a mistake on the bill, and it took a fairly long time for plates to be cleared from the table. We also found the atmosphere to be lacking for this caliber dinner.

Advertise to be open online and on the notice board that on sundays they are open till noon but they are not .we walked all the way by 11 and informed the place opens at 3pm . So no breakfast

I had high hopes for this breakfast, but it turned out to be one of the worst experiences. The restaurant is located inside the Sonnenalp Vail hotel. We arrived around 9:30 AM and were greeted by a waitress in Swiss attire, who informed us of a 5-10 minute wait. In reality, we waited over 20 minutes.Since I was excited, this wasn’t a big issue at first. The atmosphere was nice and clean. Despite it being off-season and the restaurant not being busy, the service was incredibly slow. We originally visited to try the SIGNATURE SONNENALP BREAKFAST, but it had been removed from the menu (just for your information). We ordered Hot Chocolate, coffee, EGGS BENEDICT, SWEET BEGINNING, and YOGURT AND GRANOLA. After our drinks arrived, we waited over 40 minutes with no food. What began as excitement quickly turned into frustration, especially since we had other plans. Still, we decided to wait, though our patience was running out.After 40 minutes, a waitress finally informed us they were running out of eggs, which was delaying the Eggs Benedict. She apologized and assured us it would be ready soon. However, we noticed a table that arrived after us was served Eggs Benedict before we were, which was confusing and frustrating. Eventually, our food arrived. If we had known about the delay earlier, we would have left much sooner. The whole breakfast experience was ruined. While I didn’t want to leave a tip, I still left 15%. We spent over $90 on what ended up being a terrible breakfast experience. The food was nothing special, and the service was poor. Don’t go in with high expectations. I certainly won’t be returning.

Not a great Easter Brunch experience (first time in five years). GF options limited for brunch. Service attentive once everyone was able to get on the same page with seating arrangements (even though our reservations were confirmed twice). Next year we will explore Flame and Maya.

Trekked all the way here on my birthday only to be turned down because we weren’t guests of the hotel. They told us we could wait 20 min…. 45-50 min later they told us they weren’t sure when they could seat us.
